Goerge Bush is a criminal rigged into office by Republicans and helped by some Supreme court justices appointed by his father. He has weakened the Amican military to the point they are stretched too thin to go to war against Iran. Those boys are too tired and mentaly fatigued to fight a war on another front. I am just glad my son didn't join the military as I wished he would. |

Politics / Re: Katsina State After 8 Years Of Yar'adua. by Bankole01(m): 4:57pm On May 03, 2007 |
If Yar'Adua can shake off the yoke of being type-cast as a weakling and Obasanjo puppet, he may perform well. He recently declared his assets at N500 million whereas he declared N10 million just four years age. This raised a question mark as to how he was able to make that much money in just four years?? Buhari is the only office holder as Head of state and director PTDF who has not been tainted by the corruption stigma and he would make a better fiscal president that Yar'Adua, going as far as instilling accountability in public office. Yar'Adua will be had pressed to instill discipline, given the albatross (Obasanjo) living in his backyard. |
Politics / Re: This Stigma Of 419 In Nigeria Will Cause Us A Lot Of Harm by Bankole01(m): 4:28pm On May 03, 2007 |
Talking about something, brings out solutions. People share and learn from the mistakes of others, so telling stories of 419 helps to highlight the problem. Our complicity of silence has helped to give the world the notion that we are all crooks. The last elections was a good example that we all have to raise our voice to condemn overwhelmingly. I recent started a business here in the US and everytime I present my proposals to manufacturers and they find out I am a Nigerian by national origin, they loose all interest in me. So you see, we all loose out from this practise of a few greedy criminals. We have to talk about it to shame the perpetrators, even turning them in to the authority where-ever we reside, to let the whole world know Nigerians are not all crooks. |

If anyone thinks Obasanjo is out of the sit of government, it shows naivety. Obasanjo has successfully consolidated his power by installing a president he can mould at will, as well as a supporting cast of rigged PDP legislators. With him as the de facto party leader who demands absolute loyalty from his installed and selected stooges, the policeand military, the evil man (Obasanjo) has Nigeria firmly in his grip. Nigeria had never at any time been in more precarious stage. Only the death of the megalomaniac will free Nigeria. |

Revolution! that exactly is what I am preaching. People need to stand up and say enough is enough. Look, the people of Phillipines drove out Marcos without firing one shot. They had mas rallies after rallies and demanded a change and they got it. The unthical ruling elites have run rough shod over Nigerians long enough. |

We can't just accept the unacceptable as Wole soyinka put it, for the sake of peace. illegality on any level by anyone is still wrong. To hell with peace! the whole elections should be outright cancelled as the people of the country were were disenfranchised. This my take on things, an interim government led by the Chief Justice Suprems Court. Election commision will come under the direct supervision of NASS, who would confirm the chairman and commisioners, new registrations process for all States will begin and go on for a period of three months and records established in every ward of every State, where every voters will issued a voter card with photographs. Elections should then be scheduled for three months later. The election venue will be in closed facilities only with doors (eg schools) only facilitators will be allowed to permanents stay in the rooms. All voters will show voter card with photographs before bein allowed entry. This will make collation and number of voters easy to ascertain, all ballot boxes will be transparent hard types bolted and secure in place. The perimeter of venues will be guarded and man by police and soldiers to prevent thugs from stealing ballot boxes. This sham April elections should never be allowed to stand. |

dayokanu: Thank you o my broda, the myopic supporters of Obasanjo are just as selective as he is. Justice or reprieve is only for Obasanjo's thieving gangsters. Bode George was indicted by EFCC but OBJ told Ribadu to shut up on that, among the present crop of governnors, only Yar'Adua declared his assets. Some of them were just teachers, now they are billioniares and buy airlpanes. OBJ knows this but alas, no hounding. Alao Akala was indicted by EFCC, OBJ had his name removed from the list and given a first class ticket to come back and further loot Oyo state. Tinubu was only guy with enough balls to stand up to what someone called 'fine gorilla' in agbada. He ran Lagos well without any stipends form the 'jungle emperor' (OBJ) but did a better job than all the thieving PDP governors put together. He could have run for and win a senate sit if he wanted, but he stepped down so others in Lagos State can run. Obasanjo has been looking for ways to bring Tinubu down for a long time because he was man enough and refused to kis his butt. this is just another poly of the vindictive monster and evil man to "hang a dog by giving him a bad name" |

There is poverty and misery in every nation of the World. Most Western countries on the other hand have a human face where they have a social welfare program to alleviate poverty, heal the sick and help the elderly. Most people in their countries slip through the crack mostly beacuse of drug use, alcoholism, illetracy, ignorance or outright rebelion (like in gangsters who end up in prison) Nigeria and most African (third world countries), have no such social welfare and could care lessabout their fellow citizens as long as the elite and government officials have billions to steal! Lets get real, analyse and do self criticism without unnecessary emotionalisms 1 Like |

MAMAJAMA: I was a cab driver in my city while attending college, but now in a responsible job and have three accounts now. If I ever make it as a governor, does this mean I am a thief! Also, I met Tinubu when he was away in America during the Abacha era and he realy worked hard for the emancipation of Nigerian and Nigerians. My Yoruba organisation working with Tinubu helped to organize a boycott of the Abacha government by my city and to secure the release of Obasanjo from incarceration. (Obasanjo later payed a courtesy visit to thank us for our efforts) We even went as far helping mosley Braun loose her re-election for the U.S. senate for her support of Abacha. MAMAJAMA: Why can't a person make his argument without any emotional outburst from you. The same latitude you give to the very corrupt and thieving Obasanjo and his PDP co-criminals, is expected of every other person! |

Tinubu might be a thief, who is not? he diid better than a the PDP ggovernors put together, inspite of the fact that Obasanjo starved him of funds for the State. This is why Buhari's supporters wanted him for president. His discipline and no nonsense style of government is what nigeria needs to rid us of all the thief-executives and not-so-honorable legislators, local state and federal. |

White lady: This not aboout being sore losers, but being disenfranchised. Nigeria is not your household and is nop way representative of your family. Atiku is a known thief, so is Obasanjo and a host of his friends who were selected and hand picked to be in elective offices. The elctions which started on the 14th April, were a travesty, a debacle and mockery of the democratic process! Votes were outright stolen, appointioned with impunity or non existent. People were beaten, coerced and intimidated for voting for persons other than their wishes. Ballot boxes were stolen or just simply thumb printed and stuffed. It was so primitive tha even Mugabe of Zimbabwe could not have done any worse. The result of the elections is what Nigerians expected even though they were optimistic of a change in democratic process, there was apathy and depressioned when their fears were vindicated by INEC and the very corrupt Obasanjo. That yar'Adua won is not the issue but that Obasanjo had consolidated his grip on the country and the investments and acceptance he so mush seek from the West will elude him and Nigeria. Nigeria was further made a laughing stock in the World, whose press hadly made any mention of the elections but widely reported the elections in France. Now tell me whitelady, what is not to be sore about? or is this just another racist steretype of Africas (Nigerians) |

Mr. Segun Oni, an engineer, is the surprise winner of Ekiti governorship election. His victory was announced by the resident electoral commissioner, Dr. Gabriel Okafor early today, amidst cries of poll fraud and manipulation. The candidate of the Action Congress, Mr. Kayode Fayemi was coasting home to victory before the surprise announcement of Oni's victory. The result of the votes in Efon Alaye was cancelled because people snatched ballot boxes and burnt them. The result in Oke-Imesi where ballot boxes were snatched and destroyed in 3 wards was also cancelled. Despite that, Okafor declared Engineer Segun Oni of the PDP as the winner of the governorship election with 177,689 votes, followed by Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the AC with 108,305 votes, followed by Mr. Yinka Akerele of the ANPP with 24,952 votes. The Labour Party candidate got 5,000 votes, APP – 9550, AD – 1081, ADC–1370, APGA – 420, DPA – 3,834, DPP – 334. this shows how Ekiti State was stolen by PDP and the INEC tool of Obasanjo the most corrupt bastard in Nigeria The House of Assembly seats were shared between AC and PDP. AC won 10 seats while PDP won 13 seats. Nobody was elected in Efon Alaye because the votes were cancelled. |

twinstaiye: Yes; Oyo State rigging, Adedibu are the fault of Obasanjo. Without the backing of Obasanjo, the EFCC should have Akala and Adedibu in detention, first for looting Oyo State funds, INEC registration machines found at his house and it was reported that voting started on wednesday at Adedibus house. Pls read the following: Ballot boxes found in PDP member’s home By Ola Ajayi Posted to the Web: Saturday, April 14, 2007 EVIDENCE that today’s elections may not be free and fair emerged yesterday as an undisclosed number of ballot boxes were reportedly found in the home of a member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) at Odo Ona-Elewe, Ibadan. Saturday Vanguard gathered that men of the State Security Service (SSS) who were given a tip off, swooped on the home of the PDP member. After the SSS conducted a search in the house, it was gathered that ballot boxes were discovered in one of the rooms This seemed to confirm the allegations that voting had been going on in the house of a notable PDP chieftain in the city since Wednesday. When contacted, the State Director of SSS, Mr. Adebayo Babalola, said he had not been briefed about the issue. Also, the Public Relations Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Ayodele Folami, as at press time could not confirm the story. So my doubting friend, do you think anyone not under the protection of the emperor of Aso rock would be allowed to get away with the thuggery of Adedibu, even when the president himself went to Ibadan and declared him the garrison commander!!!!! |

Politics / Re: Election Results: Nationwide by Bankole01(m): 7:48pm On Apr 15, 2007 |
Oyo and Ekiti States were clearly stolen by PDP. Ekiti should have gone to AC while Oyo should have gone to PPA. The people should not let this stolen mandate to stand. In the Oyo case, this means Alao-Akala will be allowed to split the States funds with Adedibu. Obasanjo's cronies are being allowed to continue the looting of the States funds without recourse. While the police protected them, Adedibu thugs stole ballot boxes. No wonder INEC and Obasanjo were jubilating. They were successful in fooling the people of Nigeria. |

adconline: Thank you adconline, but my family are ok where we are. Where does my family come into this argument anyway? Can we discuss without becoming personal? Also, I am a true Nigerian who believes in one nation and one people. My argument is not anti-Igbo but anti sectionalism which is what the Igbo in the Obang territory are clamouring for. It is very irregular for any one or group of people to migrate to anothers land and then decide we need our own king in a land which already has a supreme leader recognised not only by traditional rites, but the constitution as well. This is treason and could destabilise that area. The Igbo in Calabar have to respect the sovereignty of the OBONG clear and simple. |

Why should the Igbo endeavour to create a monarch in the Obong territoty? When you leave as an immigrant worker, resident, etc, in someone else's sovereign, you bow and accept that person sovereignty over you and yours. The Igbo intentions, is egotistical, usurping and arrogant. I wholeheartedly support the Obong the supreme King of the Calaba from allowing this subvertion of his ancestral land. I don't think the Igbo would allow a king for Yoruba in Umuahia! 1 Like |
