Why are people of all colors surprised that Dereck Chauvin was found resoundingly guilty on all charges? There have been six Police shootings of Blacks in 24 hours after the verdict. The Western and Eastern legal systems are reflections of their community's religious and cultural values that are unfair and indifferent to minorities. Many of the laws have become arcade, repulsive and distasteful in today’s civilized world. Some Conservatives have already pushed back that Derek Chauvin could have been acquitted on all charges but for the fear of the “mob” of protesters. Imagine one of these extremists as a member of that jury. https://www.nairaland.com/6522500/six-police-shootings-24-hours |
CHAUVIN VERDICT: LEGAL SYSTEM ROOTED IN RELIGIOUS & CULTURAL Why are people of all colors surprised that Dereck Chauvin was found resoundingly guilty on all charges? There have been six Police shootings of Blacks in 24 hours after the verdict. The Western and Eastern legal systems are reflections of their community's religious and cultural values that are unfair and indifferent to minorities. Many of the laws have become arcade, repulsive and distasteful in today’s civilized world. Some Conservatives have already pushed back that Derek Chauvin could have been acquitted on all charges but for the fear of the “mob” of protesters. Imagine one of these extremists as a member of that jury. Usually, in Europe or America there is no justice for minorities, not even in the Church except in Heaven. This is why it is difficult for African Americans or Africans to obtain justice from the Judicial system not designed for them. Many African countries already have customary laws pushed to the primary level after they were conquered by the Europeans. Before then, local laws were developed like other continents, upon which Appeals can be lodged at a higher level. Appeals to the King, Ooni, Eze or Ossei Tutu as the Supreme Court. This Appeal System can be modified and modernized to reflect African Culture. Derek Chauvin Trial is only one typical example of how different ethnic groups in America see and interpret Justice. The fact is Blacks and Whites see the role of Police differently. When the Police claim to Serve and Protect, it is what the white population expects of them. If they do not express the will of white population, their jobs would be on the line. On the other hand, Police in Europe and Americas are hired from racist groups and expected to keep minorities in “their place”. Minorities have to sue in courts to be fairly hired as police officers, even in cities where they are proportionally higher in numbers. It is like Sharia/Christian conflicts based on religious belief-bias of other continents unrelated to Africa. The fear that Chauvin could be found NOT guilty on all charges was supported by the Motion of the outstanding prosecuting lawyers that fought to keep a third lesser charge, just in case one of the unpredictable jurors voted against the most serious charge of 2nd degree Murder. It only takes one juror, enough on its own to derail all charges. African Americans know and have the experience of one law for Whites another for Blacks. People have to be careful not to jump into reasons for the guilty verdict. The jury system is a reflection of the religious culture of the people. In the case of Chauvin the world was watching. One juror could have caused a hung verdict. However, the Prosecution bombarded this lone juror with evidence that even a 9 years old girl could understand. So much so, the Defense witnesses admitted that without a pulse, Chauvin refused to get off Floyd's neck or give aid. After all, the preparations for riots by boarding up businesses, government offices and Police stations were unnecessary. But the fear is justified because in so many cases, the jury ignored laws and evidence for their religious and cultural views, a belief-bias effect of where the minorities belonged since their "good old days''. Those days as the first African American Mayor of Chicago Harold Washington had stated: were the worst days for us. The preparation for riots all over America melted into relief and surprise that Justice was served. American legal system was on trial as all the stereotypes and dog whistles used by the Defense Attorney were overwhelmed by the best legal and medical minds, some of who worked without fees for the Prosecution. The blue wall was broken by the number and leadership of Police ranks that testified against their own. Africans must not rest or rely on this case. It may even motivate retaliations against innocent Blacks. Though most whites and juries are against viciousness and injustice, silence is not enough. It boiled down to how they could make this Jury see through the prism of a 9 years old girl for them to understand. Equal Justice under the law is the ideal we all want to live up to but in reality, it is far from the experience of those shortchanged by the law. One must wonder why that wealth of legal, medical and Police experts were needed to prove what we all saw on television. The average Blackman can never secure such talents and resources at trial. If you think the United States legal and jury systems could not have produced that indifferent and extremist juror after the reign of Trump, you were either a dreamer or unfamiliar with their legal system. This is a country where many members of a major party still think the November 2020 Election was rigged, putting up a loop to hang their Vice President like the Joan of Arc for not nullifying the Election they lost fair and square. Though Joan’s actions were against the English occupation army, she was turned over to the CHURCH that insisted she be tried as a heretic by the English and the French. She was 19 years old when she was burned at the stake as a heretic before an estimated crowd of 10,000 people in the marketplace at Rouen. It took another 500 years later, on May 16, 1920 to be canonized as a Roman Catholic Saint. https://www.biography.com/military-figure/joan-of-arc Silent White majority of goodwill must expose those with mean spirited blood but powerful few like Trump. Before Civil Rights Law, Black were lynched in public and openly discriminated against at every level. Expecting the same people to right all their wrongs as members of the jury in one case is preposterous. One case cannot change mindsets developed over ages as seen by the continuing killing of Black men during traffic stops after Chauvin's Guilty Verdict. Emmett Till open casket in 1955 did not convict his killers, Rodney King beating did not convict the Police Officers just as countless others. Even a 12 years old Tamir Rice playing in the Park with a toy water gun was shot dead before he could obey order to put it down in 2014. Why use the split-second decisions to shoot Blacks in the back and when confronting Blacks as if they are monsters, ready to kill before he is killed; but apply tolerance in a worse situation when facing Whites that kill Police officers more? While the legal and economic system in the Western world is rooted in Judeochristian culture: so are Islam, Induism, Shamanism and Buddism pattern legal system on their own religious beliefs. Africans must modernize their legal systems on their beliefs, not on colonialists. It is hypocritical to claim one legal system is better than the other since Africans rely on others’ legal system as theirs. Sharia, for example, does not catch the privileged and wealthy. It has generated conflicts between Christians and Muslims on which legal system should prevail. While there are compromises to adopt both at different levels, each religion has advocated their legal system at the Supreme level. It is reason Muslims think Sharia is their Right in African countries where both Islam and Christianity is foreign to indigenous beliefs. Indeed, most of the gains of the Civil Rights Era have been gradually lost by the elections of opponents vehemently against it. They are still working hard to reverse minorities’ Voting Rights by enacting regulations and laws at the local and states levels making it harder to vote Source |

LIVE FREE IN AFRICA OR DIE AS USEFUL FOOLS (SLAVE) OUTSIDE We must ask ourselves repeatedly why our African Youths with all their talents and our politicians as useful fools, would rather squander and launder the wealth or talents that freed Asians from abject poverty? The next generation and history will take us to task about how the richest Continent God created abandoned its children like absentee deadbeat parents to the whims and Salvation of those that only see them as instruments of cheap labor. These children of Africa are no longer sold by Chiefs into Slave Ships. African Youths use their first million, all their savings or borrowed money to board expensive planes or cross deserts and seas to reach their "promised land" outside Africa. https://time.com/longform/african-slave-trade/ Despite the numbers of thinkers and historians laborious efforts to inform and educate them constantly. No matter our efforts and information about what awaits them outside, they are blinded and overwhelmed with token few that tell them they saw the "Promised Land". We just have to ask why a reasonable parent would be willing to give up children for adoption by dropping babies by the gutter, in a dustbin, in charge of Asma boys, tonton macoute, pollero/chayote, supporter of APC slave traders in Sudan and Chard or drug traffickers as by seashore wishing that the daughter of Pharaoh would pass by and rescue Moses. https://time.com/5042560/libya-slave-trade/ Instead of putting all energy on prayer, we must understand that heaven helps those who help themselves. So who are the Youths traveling out? Believe It or not, most are not the poorest, hungry and the destitute. Many of them are highly educated engineers, physicians, accountants, teachers etc that go out and start their own businesses abroad under strenuous situations worse than at home when they realized there was no other way to survive. Less effort could have rescued their own country. Some look at salaries for their professions overseas compared to local salaries, regardless of standard of living, gross domestic product or growth. Most do not take into consideration the school loans professionals acquire abroad in the course of their study. We have to face the crises of African Youths escaping from their own countries by any means just to make a living. Most of them have training that has not got them their expected reward in the marketplace at home. It is too embarrassing or depressing for them. They would rather go hungry, homeless and underemployed with their skills and certificates outside home. Therefore, we are not talking about the untalented, most wretched Africans fleeing their homes. Actually, most of those fleeing saved or borrowed from relatives, good money that could be used to start a business, rather than pay traveling agents marketing overseas opportunities and paying for tickets with everything they saved in order to escape. There are also slave traders willing to pay their expenses to Europe and America on contracts. They demand guarantee pay back with usury interest abroad. Unfortunately, the girls end up as prostitutes and others used as body parts if their sponsors cannot pay back. Yet, the majority of those escaping “hell” in their countries are not the poorest in the community that cannot have three meals in a day. They are not the ones that either go hungry to bed, do without breakfast or lunch. They are the ones buying tickets or paying travel agents to escape. Most of these agents want some money down which the poor do not have except the use of their bodies. They pay dearly for what they had seen on their expensive Iphones at home. Another lure abroad is their friends that have escaped, telling them they are making tons of money and living big. Even when this is true, they never mention the pains, indignity and the stress of surviving against all odds, no matter how highly qualified they are. How “temporary" are the top positions they hold before being replaced for any or no reason. Those frustrated out of jobs even as the head of dog catchers never relate their frustrations to those at home. The greatest reason most Africans give is that they are ready to go through subjugation, discrimination and rejection overseas as price they have to pay so that their children can have a good education and future. If and only if Africans work half as hard in their countries as they do when they leave Africa, most of our countries would be a better place. The resentment between African Americans and Africans points to this fact that Africans do not have African American experience of the generational subjugation they suffered. Recently, it is filtering through that some of their highly educated colleagues are not only underemployed but forced to take menial jobs to put food on the table for their families. The shame and embarrassment of relating disappointments back home are too great to expose. As most of these so-called highly successful workers abroad grow tired of the daily insults; they take to nefarious activities like drugs. Those too old to return home for lack of investment, become miserable and disappointed. How can parents absorb these without affecting the same children, mentally and physically? It is the beginning of an inferiority complex as their children watch them being relegated to the bottom of their new communities. While it is true that first generation children of immigrants do not tolerate as much abuse as their parents, some of the abuse rub off on them right from kindergarten making it difficult to get into colleges unless they work against the odds inherent in communities abroad. Most of the successful Africans overseas not only work twice as hard, but are also squeaky clean. Put the same persons in charge of funds in Africa, they would loot the allocation dry without a blink of an eye. They know every eye is on them waiting for them to make a mistake, fail or trip. But in Africa, they feel they can steal and go scott free since they know their way around the judicial process. Most of the Nigerian looters convicted for money laundering or facing charges abandoned the loots overseas to enjoy freedom at home. There is no better place to fight for economic justice than in Africa where we still have ownership Rights against those encouraging us to sell ourselves for pittance or instant gratification. Everybody likes readymade and hunger is a very strong motivating force. We have seen homeless folks begging to work for food around the world. One of the most resentful sayings by Umaru Dikko was that he had not seen anybody picking food from garbage cans in Nigeria as he saw in America. Well, that was years ago. Youths now eke out a living on environmental dumps. African politicians, even those old enough to expire, wish to be buried with their loots into the afterlife. They are taking actions against our children that slide us deeper into poverty because they cannot see beyond the immediate wants of their individual families. This is not different from a parent leaving a newborn on the street hoping against hope for a miracle. However difficult it is to reverse this trend, the day we throw up our hands and give up is the day we all perish. Source |

Destabilize A Nation With Imported Food Listen to article Some Africans have forgotten how to grow their own food. There used to be a time most Africans could not starve in the villages unless you are too lazy to farm. Today, families are selling the same farms that have sustained them for generations to buy plastic toys that can hardly last for five years. https://m.thenigerianvoice.com/news/287089/destabilize-a-nation-with-imported-food.html |

STRATEGIC REORIENTATION OF AFRICAN CHILDREN MUST START EARLY There are few reasons to believe Black men in dire situations would encourage their children or other kids. Many Black older men abroad with insufficient money for comfort are neglected and disrespected since he makes less money, no matter what. Africa hard o. But our older men abroad share the same life expectancy with African countries. The ugly sight of tattered old black men picking bottles, begging in a cold weather or traffic is too disgusting for children. We must start talking about solutions to climb out of the moral decay in our communities. Fortunately, our villages have not gone down. If anything, it is still surprising that our morality and culture still hold just as our African languages in the face of outside influence. Otherwise, insanity in the global world could have replaced our well-being. Some of us may differ but we still have basic decency to build on. No matter how altruistic our goals, monitoring to ensure they are is just as important. When rules are relaxed, abuses will creep in. The reason our Youths lost faith, confidence, in culture and our early civilization is because other cultures, history and old civilizations got to them earlier. Most African elders learned about European history much earlier before they realized African history existed, just before graduating from high school. Once you lay their foundation with European history, everything learned after that is from European prism, view and prejudice of European history and culture. This was intended and entrenched before the days of Thomas McCauley in the 19th century. Many African countries got it right when they started community services and orientation programs after Youths college graduation. The intentions were great and actually served their purpose in the rural areas of our Continent. Good Community Projects have come like Esusu community contribution, Teachers Training, Community Health Officers (Physician Assistants), Community Health Workers, Accountants, Engineers and Lawyers starting their own projects and businesses at local postings instead of waiting for governments to create jobs for them. Others got the education and training to look for the earliest opportunity to move to the cities or travel out of the country. No matter how altruistic our goals, ensuring monitoring is just as important. When rules are relaxed, abuses will creep in. Those Youths that have more or better knowledge than their elders, got it because someone impacted the lessons of a lifetime on them earlier. There are lessons we learn throughout life but cultural education must start early to prevent foreign indoctrination from growing roots that shapes our behavior forever. Adults realize how better they could have been or added value to many aspects of their lives. If they had only known or had been privileged to some knowledge. What we learn throughout our experience could be packaged as education for our Youths earlier. If we are serious about rebuilding African countries, we must decide if we want them to be well informed children or copycats of foreign cultures that are changing with different political parties and sometimes extremist leaders. We must imbue and fortify these children with self identity and confidence that they can be proud of and build on early during childhood. Based on childhood indoctrination, Africans at home send their children abroad. But some men abroad leave their wives and children at home to attend the best schools in Africa rather than let them stay in Europe and the USA damaged. Empirical evidence and experience demonstrate that these children are mostly underemployed or idle in Diaspora. Others beg to differ: if you want the best education for your children, by any means look for the opportunity to study abroad. Who is right depends on what you want in life, foreign or self salvation. On the other hand, check out who their models are, in the so-called “civilized climes”. Most homicides at homes are committed by domineering white males, they make up most of the mass murderers and they form the majority of the extremist groups. They went from angry white men to be labelled “deplorables” by Hilary Clinton. Come to find out she was generous since they rose up as insurrectionists against their elected democratic Government. These are the people African Youths at home look up to for Salvation? Monkey no fine but ime mama like am so. Their women and children respect and obey them at home compared to emasculated Black males' roles in their families that can be easily reported. Moreover, the Black man is still the only group in Diaspora the system encourages to report to the Social workers after disciplinary measures to his children, more than anyone. Ironically, African parents send their children back home to learn proper discipline. It is called abuse abroad. You would not believe how these children change on their return from Africa. The same children that complained about: Dad was too strict, worked long hours, did not spend enough time with the family, had a girlfriend etc. You would think Dad did all these just for himself. In reality, he was killing himself to meet the demand of his family. Many of his cohort doing the same hustling and bustling died early of stress and high blood pressure. It is so appalling to hear during the funeral that Dad died working to death for his family! Dad worked two or three jobs. My husband was a hard-working man. The good part of the lesson is that no member of the family would work that hard again. It is not surprising that Black men are easily kicked out of their own houses, left poor and homeless abroad than they are at home in African countries. Most Black men abroad never live long enough for their Pension. In fairness to single mothers, they work just as hard or even harder when they have no man in the house to share the bills and responsibilities with. They have no choice. As soon as the same ladies find a dutiful man, they become lazy and work him to death. No wonder they ask you what have you got to offer or if you can take care of them. Those of you old enough may remember that song: Nothing Going On But The Rent. You Got to Have A J-O-B. Why do women work so hard as single mothers and are complacent when they find a "good" man? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hd6o8SDNYHw&list=RDhd6o8SDNYHw&start_radio=1&t=60s Several studies on elder abuse indicate that a large number of victims are women, but others report that men in later life are also significantly neglected and abused, especially when they show symptoms of disability and in poor health. They require help for their daily activities. When it comes to neglect, the fact is women, because they live longer face more neglect in the community. https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0146425 |

As usual, some of you would like to turn this Poverty Capital of the world into North v. South fight, ethnicity battle, Christian v. Muslim but you forgot it is the North that is being destroyed, starting from Borno. Is the Sultan of Sokoto, deposed Emir of Kano Sanusi and Reverend Kuka from the South? Thugs and children of Looters cannot think beyond stomach infrastructure. Nothing Reverend Kuka said was different from that of the Sultan of Sokoto that expressed the same caution as Reverend Kuka. So both must be planning a coup as traitors then? |
Authorities that do not listen to peaceful protests, flame violence or insurrection that make Revolution inevitable. Watch out for those children of the status quo that argue against change as their country dug itself deeper into poverty. They have vested interest in the oppression of peaceful demonstrators. Impeach Buhari To Avoid Another Coup D'etat Disaster Nigeria has never recovered since the first Coup d'Etat. It turned out as expected that the Army lacked the intelligence and intellectual capacity for governance. A few went as far as saying the best military rule is worse than the worst civilian rule. Well, many of us disagree. Though Jerry Rawlings did a better job in Ghana in his first coming, Ghana has since benefited from clean civilian rule. In Nigeria, we are either recovering from military rule in uniform or in militrician rule when they change their uniforms to agbada or designer suits. One of the former stalwarts of the National Party of Nigeria boldly stated in 1979 that there were two parties in Nigeria: the Military and NPN. Both parties have mutated into different viruses, but these leopards never changed their spots. If you take a good look at the politicians in Nigeria, it will become clear that only Vagabonds, Army and Thugs are left standing to get into the game of Do or Die. Their only goal is to go in and loot the treasury. Their supporters that vote them into power are thugs and hoodlums waiting for turns to loot. So they hate peaceful activists. They would dare you to oppose them at your own risk. Most of you must have heard about how harmless and peaceful protesters of #ENDSARS were massacred. Even worse, the Commander of the Army that led them, told the Tribunal he would execute exactly the same Operation again. But once these same Protesters carry Arms like Boko Haram, Niger Delta Force, OPC or MASSOB; their military tactics would change to contracts, bribes, foreign scholarships and political cronies. It appears that since Babangida broke Buhari, he never recovered. So scared to death, Buhari refused to change the Service Chiefs, still figuring out how to prevent another coup d'etat against him. Even Babangida that had worked against the Buhari Election is enjoying the lack of retribution from Buhari or his kitchen cabinet. If kidnappers were brave enough to take the cue from Boko Haram and kidnap another set of school children right in Buhari's State when he was at home on vacation, they fear nobody. Could it have been staged for easy rescue? Authorities that do not listen to peaceful protests, flame violence or insurrection that make Revolution inevitable. It is an old adage some reasonable governments learned from before or after the revolution. Watch out for those children of the status quo that argue against change as their country dug itself deeper into poverty. They have vested interest in the oppression of peaceful demonstrators. They are the Personal Assistants of the Oppressors located everywhere including the social media. Even other Africans and people of goodwill worldwide empathize with Nigerians. Not the children and supporters of these Vagabonds-In-Power. The indications are that Buhari has lost his grip on Power to his kitchen cabinet. When his wife said Buhari did not know some of the members of his wider cabinet, we doubted his wife since Buhari said she belonged to the other room. She is not taking chances though. A few sources claimed she has relocated to Dubai for security reasons. This is why Nigerians are crying that if the wife of the President is not safe in Nigeria, nobody can protect the common man. They wonder if Buhari is really in control, has lost interest in Power or he is being used to retain Power by ordained oligarchy Mafia; as they did under ailing President Yar'Adua. Most of us knew Buhari was a religious fanatic, but had instinctual intolerance for corruption. Yet, we voted for him as a preference to a worse evil, Jonathan that legalized corruption with a notion that it was not necessarily a crime. As Buhari gets older, he has dropped religion, an opium used to disguise cruelty of man against man. Buhari has also embrace corruption as it provides comfort for him and his family, not only in the Muslim world but in the Western world where he sends his children to school and obtain medical treatment that cannot be provided in his Country for his people; because he can afford them overseas on his salary! All the effort and brains, if they have any since taking over, that should have been utilized to combat violence are diverted against those that pointed out their obvious failures. Even Reverend Kuka that voiced out the mind of most people in Nigeria had been declared a traitor. Nothing Reverend Kuka said was different from that of the Sultan of Sokoto that expressed the same caution as Reverend Kuka. So both must be planning a coup as traitors then? Buhari must be morally dead. The same man Boko Haram almost killed by a suicide bomber in Kaduna before he became President, had been asked to negotiate on their behalf with the Jonathan Government. When the North-East and North-West boasted of violence on Christian churches and Southerners anytime they dared contest for Presidency, they never thought the same violence would gradually consume them. The bottom line is that the "core" North is bleeding from self-inflicted wounds and their leaders know it. But they hide their heads in the sand for fear that they would be proven wrong by whoever tells them the truth. A case of self perfection that fears correction from any quarter that may expose the fact that they are moving in the wrong direction to self-annihilation. Since reliance on foreign income, politicians plunged the Country from African richest country before the curse of oil to the world capital of Poverty after massive oil income. Whoever says money can make you wealthy or rich has never heard of a country called Nigeria. Very soon the whole Country will be consumed by terrorists unless other parts learn their lessons and prepare to defend their part of the Country. As long as we have Southerners joining and flaming the destruction of the Country because of personal greed for tokenism and backing as candidates for Presidency instead of speaking the truth to Power, we will all follow Borno violence down the drain. It is no longer North v. South, the whole Country is threatened during the reign of Buhari who got elected because another devil that sold his people, relied on temporary income from the curse of oil as Paradise. Nigeria known for its Army contribution to Peace in Africa and the world is now at the mercy of local terrorists financed internally and by international sects of religious terrorists in the name of God. Buhari has turned deaf ears to reasonable voices in the North, even the Sultan that claimed they have never seen so much carnage and destruction within their own North. Indeed, the voices of reason of both Muslim and Christian leaders has been branded a coup. Who is ruling Nigeria? What a change from Buhari/Idiagbon that jailed people for foreign currencies to this Buhari/Osinbajo that reverted to cracking down on harmless nonviolent protesters but fear Boko Haram, militias and coup plotters. https://m.thenigerianvoice.com/news/294773/the-truth-about-lagos-is-bitter.html The Author is Farouk Martins Aresa, Omo Aresa. Do not let Tinubu starve that Aresa to death. Bonesking: |
THE TRUTH ABOUT LAGOS IS BITTER Lagos has no business sharing the state of Poverty in Nigeria. The individual entrepreneurship spirit in that little island carried what became Nigeria for some centuries. The people of Lagos were not only Oloko shipbuilders and traders, they were professionals: architects, teachers, doctors, lawyers, iron workers, carpenters, Agbonmagbe Bankers and of course "London Tailors" etc. Their buildings, various professions under Petesi, Water Works, Aso Martin, Omo Alaran and more remain in Lagos to speak for themselves. Therefore, lamentations on social media by Abisoye Oshodi need no introduction. No matter how crude or offensive some might find them, these lamentations struck a cord of conscience in Lagos. Not only among Youths but within the older generation that know the history of Lagos inside out. Lagosians including the poor enjoy the simple civilized way life has to offer, not known for materialism. Saro say na poor I poor, no be craze I craze. You may not agree with everything Abisoye says but the truth is bitter: Otito koro. Some of the favorite sons and daughters have come out to absolve themselves, their loved ones or even denied Bisoye's take on the issues he passionately espoused. You see, it is not enough to deny his assertions, you have to disprove the consequences of your actions as Enablers of the decadence perpetrated in Lagos and where we have found ourselves within Nigeria today. A country that went from the richest in Africa compared to Asia, South America and some countries in Europe before Oil Income, went to the poorest in blazes. Blame Amoda Yekini Ogunlere from Iragbiji all you want, Enablers crowned him as gubernatorial candidate over Funso Williams principally by Pa Dawodu because Funso was not a member of NADECO. Inadvertently, Wahab Dosumu, Yomi Finnih, Obanikoro and Funso fought one another to disqualification thinking Yekini was the least of their problems. He would fade away since he is not a Lagosian. So they left him alone and dealt recklessly with one another. The rest is history. Yekini Amoda Ogunlere then waggled his way around Lagosians, obsequiously prostrating and rewarding sons and daughters of the soil with contacts. As he gained trust and influence in Lagos circles, he started appointing makers and shakers of Lagos including his successors as one term Governors, Senators; then the House Representatives, Oba, City Council Chairmen. It was no surprise that he later appointed his wife and children as he wanted. What is surprising is that no one, so far, has been paid well enough or sponsored to declare Bisoye an illegitimate son. Bisoye Oshodi's point is that Yekini has too many Enablers within Lagos including our close relatives we respect too much to confront. It has got to the point where the suffering of Youths in Nigeria generally and Lagos in particular, can no longer be upheld leading to the eruption of #ENDSARS. These are just the symptoms, the problems of Nigeria have infected Lagos and we are dying helplessly under the yoke of not only the oppressors but sadly with the help of their Enablers within us. Seriously, how many places the size of Lagos can absorb thousands of people everyday without overwhelming the same old infrastructure locals depend on for years after Jakande? There is a point in life when you want to leave the world a better place than you met it. The prayers of our parents when we were growing up was that their children's generation would do better than them: E to wa, e juwalo. We cannot say that in Africa, Nigeria or Lagos today. These greedy older traitors want to die leaving the Herculean stables they created while they ship or fly their children overseas. Little did they realize it is not about their children or whether they wasted fare money into the air or sea. It is about the generation of all children. How much money is enough to sell the rich heritage of Lagos? E nfi Owo Abu se Abu lalejo. The money they laundered overseas like most African looters, produced little returns in their children that do not speak our language, shun their culture and deny their very selves or in self-denial out of the inferiority complex of both parents and children. The loss in dividends is the impoverished state we find ourselves. It is a trend in the Country. One Nigerian politician claimed he made his money from McDonald's franchise in America but one of his cars can buy 10 McDonald's in the USA. Evidence was produced that another made money from drugs as others that defrauded money from clients were training wheels precursors for looting in Nigeria. These American and European trained crooks inspired home grown 419, drug peddlers and ritualists of body parts traders to waiting overseas clients. When former President Obasanjo withheld Lagos' Allocation, the State survived without. It demonstrated the enormous amount of Internal Generated Revenue as Lagos sends more money to the Federal Government than the State gets in return as allocations. When OBJ finally released the money, we knew whose pocket the money went! None of these blatant greed and avarice could have taken place without Enablers! Never in the history of Lagos had it been captured. Even the British with all their Army, lost to Tijani Oluwa at the British highest Court, see here. (https://nigerialii.org/ng/judgment/supreme-court/1921/1 ) A precedent dictating the land owners, not only in Lagos but in the whole of Africa. Those fairy tales about who owns Lagos are for the birds, we know ourselves and who owns Lagos and can never be disputed. The problems right now are the Enablers. They have to be exposed, brought into light to account for where Ogunlere got the money and influence to buy so much of Lagos. Lagos: Ilu Ogbon, Gedegbe L'Eko Wa: has ever been so taken for a ride by those who think they are so powerful and mighty. Fairy tales and wishful thinking have never shaken Lagos community this much. Yoruba are proud of one another and the bond between us can never be broken but we do not take one another for granted. It has led to unpleasant consequences in the past: A ki bani tan, ka fani nitan ya! Haba! It is insulting in this day and age to claim that Awori children, the owner of Lagos are not well lettered to assume the affairs of their State. Indeed, that was the cliché about Lagosians in general at one point to deny them their rightful place in Nigeria. Before Nigeria had professionals, Lagos boasted a great deal of them indigenously and as returning freed slaves. Their skills, swagger and talents were the emulated attraction to Lagos. Those who came to Lagos to learn, trade and got rich have hijacked the steering wheel to drive the Lagos grace they had benefited from into the Rock of oblivion. Our parents taught us that if strangers entered Lagos at dawn, before dusk, he would be fed, clothed and given a place to sleep. There has to be a fault line in the wall for a lizard to squeeze in: ti okiri koba lanu le, alangba kole wo! Enablers of those that refused to develop our communities inside Lagos so that they can declare it a slum for Nigga Renewal to the highest bidders must fail. They are using our money on our land to reclaim water while our land is overtaken by rain. How many Africans or Lagosians can afford to buy houses at Eko Atlantic after being displaced on precious land for Urban Renewal as if we are Blacks in America. Lagosians shine your eyes well well O! All the military resources at their arsenal can only kill and brutalize #ENDSARS in Lagos, hungry and angry protesters from Jos, Zaki Biam to Oddi massacres but no progress in curtailing Boko Haram in Borno. The people of Borno have not known or remember what it was to live or sleep with both eyes closed since Boko Haram took over Power from local politicians. They have added another lexicon to pick and choose what is "fake news". Victims of #ENDSARS, Fulani rampage, Boko Haram sponsorship are fake news used to blackmail the Government that is bringing peace and economic relief to the African giant! Ah ah ah! |
yarimo:Many African countries have lost control of security to protect the precious lives in their countries. Leaders are not accountable since they can justify and condemn atrocities by sending aides out to say they are shocked, wondering if they have become numbed, lost consciousness, morally incapacitated or gloating. It is not only in Ethiopia that war has broken out again, Sudan is still smothering (receiving refugees) and Nigeria that used to be the giant of Africa has been going to the dogs for more than 10 years. There is no more doubt that those we thought were capable hands and well meaning are so overwhelmed, they have no clue on how to solve multiple security and economic problems. https://www.thenigerianvoice.com/news/294255/politicians-dont-get-massacred-or-go-to-bed-hungry-you-do.html |
Africa, if you cannot save yourselves, who is going to save you? We have real enemies within us that diverted and continue to divert our attention. Those that abet and call in the plunderer of our resources and collude with enemies outside in return for gains, hold their noses from stench and prosecute you for war crimes to satisfy and uphold their moral values in their foreign country of choice. Since politicians pay thugs to hurt and kill people, Boko Haram and #ENDSARS must unite and concentrate on those that use them to celebrate your miseries for self-preservation and the privilege of living big at the expense of the disenfranchised. |
