Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Adeboye: Don't Marry Outside The Redeemed Christian Church by bankylan: 8:54am On Oct 05, 2012

I have been married for two years now...and thank God I married from my Church, and thank God I have a job. It is not compulsory that you marry from your church, but it is very advisable. A lot happen in marriage nowadays, and the rate of divorce is very high. Feeding from the same fountain[Church] helps a lot. It has a way of making partners stay committed to their marriage...But the primary focus should be that both of you are of the same faith, and you are both born again Christians attending a bible believing church.

As regards marrying without adequate source of income, I will advise that a man should have a good job or lay a foundation for a good business before getting married. You will understand when you get married. The number one cause of divorce and strains in marriage is finance. Even the bible says a man that can not provide for his own house is worse than an infidel. Guys, you may not enjoy your marriage at all if you are poor. Your children are at higher risk if you are poor and broke. What legacy do you want to live behind for them. But the caveat here is that, if the man is not rich today, you don't need to disqualify him totally. Does he have potentials? This is what you should go for. If is rich now and gets stripped of all he has, does he have the character to stand high and still be himself. Above all, I will advise all young men to please prepare very well before they get married. But if you think money is not a factor..ask your dad, your mum or any married man.

I totally agree with Pastor Adeboye. He has seen it all, he has achieved a lot, he is a grandfather, and a spiritual father. He is a true servant of God. I tap into the grace of God upon him to be able to achieve and even do more than he has done.. For those saying negative words about him.....I pity your generations...and I cry for your you and your generations.....As a son of a prophet, I know the implications of this....

PoliticsRe: Lagos Assembly Divided Over Chinese Language Introduction by bankylan: 3:07pm On Oct 04, 2012
Nigeria- a country that lacks identity in all facets of life. Technologically we don't, culturally we don't....We are not less humans, but our politicians have made us to believe so.
Why not promote our languages and give ourselves a sort of identity. Can't we develop to the level of teaching Physics and Chemistry in our local languages? If it is possible to study engineering in french and mandarin....is it absolutely impossible to study engineering in Yoruba and Igbo? Until we get to this level, maybe the much expected better tomorrow will be nothing but a mirage.

Our markets are full of substandard Chinese products...now we need to 'force' our students to learn Chinese language. There is nothing wrong in being bi-lingua....But personally, i think it is not Chinese language that this country needs for economic and technological development.
RomanceRe: Marrying A Nigerian Pastor: What Is it Like? by bankylan: 1:11pm On Oct 03, 2012
I seldom visit nairaland these days...but i wonder why nairalanders always speak about Pastors....
But to answer your question, I think the question is flawed. Marriage decision should be about what defines the particular person....what is his personality....If being a Nigerian pastor is all that defines him, then you may be making a wrong choice. Who is he outside his pastoral duties? This should be your concern as you will live with his person more than his duties?
But if this questions is all about mocking the Nigerian pastor, then it will be very unfortunate....
if it is easy to be a pastor and make money, I wonder why some critics have not decided to be pastors.
Pastors don't live on tithes, and in an ideal church, pastors don't have anything to do with Church's tithes. Most pastors are on salary, and some don't even collect salary because they have their own business.

Most of you often question the decision of pastors to own business, but you have failed to acknowledge the fact that pastors have responsibilities of providing for their immediate family and sending their children to good schools. Besides, if a Pastor has not defeated poverty, how will he convince his members that God is able to provide for all their needs. I grew up in CAC, and I know how pastors and their families suffer to live. But things are changing now, and most pastors are business minded. Shepherding a church does not exclude you from doing business. It is nothing but a mental laziness not to think of strategic business that will not take your time. It is now all about insights, and that is the advantage of some pentecostal pastors we have today. In my church, my Pastor is the number one tither. He preaches on Tue, Wed, and twice on Sundays, yet he still have time for his private business. There are so many other pastors like that. It is quite unfortunate that many people still expect to see Pastors in tattered dress, and cherish the the feelings that they are the one feeding pastors and his family.
I just have the feelings that most people here abusing men of God are still in their twenties or have not encountered the power of God in their lives. Most critics I have met in my life are the most frustrated human beings on earth. But I have never seen a rich and blessed person criticize anyhow. Constructive criticism is welcomed, but when it comes to being abusive, then I can bet that the critics are either poor, broke, jobless, frustrated, or unbelievers.
Christianity EtcRe: Names Of 'seeds' & 'offerings' Used In Extorting Money In Churches by bankylan: 10:35am On Mar 08, 2012
, How come frustrated and struggling folks are the one speaking ills of seed sowing and the church of God. Why can't you go into the Bible and have an understanding of seed sowing instead of condemning it, But in my over 3 decades of my life, I have never seen any rich and blessed man going against seed sowing, It is always the same unbelievers, dejected, and frustrated folks who are not blessings to themselves, their families, and the world around them.
CelebritiesRe: 2face Idibia Proposes To Annie Macauley by bankylan: 9:04am On Feb 15, 2012
This is ridiculous, I am sure none of the parties involved knows anything about marriage or understands the implications of their actions. How on earth will someone you are not married to be carrying your third baby; and why will you accept the proposal of a guy that is sowing the seed of hatred into the future of innocent children, Why will you give birth to children that will not grow up with father and mother living under the same roof?
What idea of marriage and family will these children have in the future?
As gifted as Tuface is, he should not be celebrated for this cruelty to these innocent babies. As for the ladies, even girls from motherless homes would not behaved this wise, I believe this is poverty of the minds and heads, If these girls are 'silly', how about their families? Does Tuface choose his prey to include those without families, or the families have been bought over with depreciating naira?
I only pray for the innocent children.

Christianity EtcRe: Nairalanders Incurring God's Wrath By Abusing God's Men by bankylan: 9:47am On Jan 26, 2012
God bless this poster, I am really thinking of dumping this site because of this issue.
I think Seun has a lot to do. Nairaland belongs to him, and I am afraid, I really salute his intellect and hard work, and I pray some bad elements won't destroy his work,
Abusing men of God carries a grave consequence. But one thing I know for sure is that, I have never seen any blessed and successful person abusing the men of God. It is always the unemployed, frustrated, poverty stricken unbelievers that do this. It takes no intelligence to abuse a man of God.
I am sure one day, these people will have an encounter with God.

2 Chronicle 20:20b, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem: believe in Jehovah your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Christianity EtcRe: Donate To The Poor And Needy Not Pastors tithe by bankylan: 9:39pm On Jan 25, 2012
The poster is obviously not a believer who serves God. It will be a waste of time to argue with someone like this who obviously lacks the knowledge of God. There are millions of tithers in the world. Most of them more educated, more brilliant, more succesful, and more enlightened than this poster. I am a member of Finance department in my church. My pastor is the number 1 giver in my church. I know of many millionaires in my church, I know of One bank MD, and many othe succesful businessmen and women, but none of them gives as much as my Pastor in tithe and offering. Where does he get money you ask? He has his own private businesses, and he never allowed this to affect his ministry. His words are' If as your pastor i am not rich, how do I tell you that Christ blesses'.
Mr Poster-tithes are not spent by Pastors. Anyone who does that does it at his own peril.
Yes, you have to give to the poor, but I will give more to a man of God whose annointing I respect more than I will give to a poor. When you give to the poor, the blessings of the poor follow you. It is in the Bible, and when you give to a blessed man, the blessings of the blessed man follow you.
Mr Poster,  I have a personal conviction about tithe, and not just what somebody told me.

Go and write this down today, A time is coming in your life that you will be the one telling people to give their tithe. Go and write is down. I have a warning for you and your family. Never you abuse any ordained Pastor. It carries a grave consequence.
I am sure, if you are blessed, you will never have posted this. I ask for God's blessings upon your life.
Christianity is not a religion, it is an experience. If you have never experienced God, you will speak against God, I pray you meet God.
Christianity EtcRe: Video : Bishop David Oyedepo Responds To Slap-gate ! by bankylan: 12:24am On Dec 21, 2011
@Sagamite, For your information, I have my MBA from HEC Paris. I do not need to boast about myself here. I want to believe you are not a christian, and this will be well understood. I am only concerned about your life and your tommorow.
In my findings, I discovered that failed and frustrated people are the ones who critisize most; afterall, it does not take any iota of intelligence to speak evil of other.
I have never seen any blessed man talk evil of any blessed man.
On maybe I believe there is a witch or not, Sagamite, just have a look at your life and that of your family, what do you think is responsible for your stagnation and frustration? If you are a Christian, Bible acknowledges this- that is why the Bible says 'we wrestle not aginst flesh and blood, but aginst principalities and power'.
If you are sensitive enough, you will discover a generational curse that you have been fighing with. But the devil being smarter than you has deluded you, and you tend to use your logic in analysing spiritual thing.
There are many people like you out there under satanic bondage, some have broken loose through prayer. This is not an african mentality bro, if you have ever been to the US, there are big churches there with believers praying all the time. Go to Brazil, Korea, UK, France, you will see churches with large congregation.
My faith is personal, I know God myself, and it is not a case of someone telling me about God. With my education, age , and professional experience, I can't be decieved. I have had personal experience. I have seen a life snake come out of a man, I have seen someone with a ruptured womb give birth, I have seen a lame walk, I know there is God. My life has been good because of God. Few years back, I was almost like nobody, I prayed my life out of stagnation. It was prayer and nothing else. Sagamite, if you are not a christian, I pray you will have a personal encounter with God.
Christianity EtcRe: Video : Bishop David Oyedepo Responds To Slap-gate ! by bankylan: 7:57pm On Dec 20, 2011
@ Sagamite, I am on leave, and that is why I have time to address someone like you. One thing I want you to know is that, there are thousands who are more educated than you, richer than you by all standards, and more enlightened than you that are workers and worshipers in Winner's chapel. Why do you think they chose to serve God in this church?
In my own church, I see millionaires, and CEOs, the 'haves and the have not' serving God fervently. To talk about myself, I have a B.SC degree, and MBA degree, I work in Lagos, married with a kid. I currently consult for big organizations, and I serve in the house of God, and I am very comfortable with my job, So, you can't in any way define me as someone who is not liberated financially or socially.
I don't know your level of education, but I am sure that you can't be that educated to justify an attack on the man of God. Maybe, you are not a xtian, but if you are, then I am sure you are still not born again. If you claim to be born again, them maybe it is a case of mental disorder as no sane real xtian will attack the man of God verbally.
I have offered my advice, if you and your likes will not desist, then-be prepared for what to befall you.
Christianity EtcRe: Video : Bishop David Oyedepo Responds To Slap-gate ! by bankylan: 7:14pm On Dec 20, 2011
@ Omosexy1, Go to your knees now and ask God for forgiveness? I can give you my phone number if you want to contact me. Write this down today, A time is coming in your life where you will be looking for a man of God to pray for you, You can tell me to go to hell, you can say all sorts of things, But I want you to know that you have done what God hates most.
Upcoming events in your life will make you understand this better. My worst fear for you is your generation to come. They will have to wrestle in spirit for the curse to have not effect on their lives. You have activated eternal curses with dangerous consequences, Act now, I advise, act now, I advise, act now, You can say anything, but not to someone with God's ordination.
PoliticsRe: Gowon Regrets Creating States, Says It Promotes Divisions by bankylan: 3:17pm On Dec 01, 2011
The problem is not with state creation, it is about people. It is all about personal interest, and not collective gains, Why are the Ibo brothers angry with Gowon?, Imaging someone saying that Biafra will still be actualized, I pray it doesn't happen. Igbos are not in any way united, And I believe the new generation should do something about Igbo culture and tradition. Also, it is obvious that the igbos overestimate themselves.
In as much as I like everyone created by God, I still find it hard to associate with the Igbos.
I can imaging the intra-tribal war that will ensue if Igbos are left to govern themselves, But thank God Biafra never saw the light of the day, perhaps the tribe would have gone into extinction.

I love Mikel, the guy continues to grow higher in spite of all destructive criticisms. Believe me, I will put my father in front of a nation like Nigeria, and I don't have any apology for that.
I love my country, but my family comes first, I have discovered something in life, when the worst comes, it is your family that will be there for you.
How soon have we forgotten our stars of yesterday, Yes, the deadline was Tuesday night, and he came Wed morning, better late than never, especially when he has to go and see his kidnapped father, Now he can play for Nigeria with his whole heart.
It annoys me when people say Mikel is proud, It is more annoying that this statement is coming from people who have never met this lad one on one or ever had any opportunity to interact with him.
, Well every poor man believes a rich man is proud,

EducationRe: School Fees Of Church-owned Universities In Nigeria by bankylan: 2:14am On Sep 03, 2011
what has tithe got to do with this, if you like pay, and if you like  don't pay. It will be a double tragedy on you if  you are now telling people that there is no need to pay tithes, But one thing I am pretty sure of is that 'whoever' posted this has not really been blessed, I have not seen any blessed man speaking about not paying tithes. No matter how logical your argument may sound,  it is an error on your own part to bring about the issue of tithe.
It is not your headache what happens to the tithe, yours is just to obey God. This is the problem with many xtians today. This could be likened to why the Isrealites have to go into captivity for 400yrs. God asked Abraham for a burnt offering, but he was so concerned about the offering by driving away the birds that came to feed on the offering,
, I pray God opens your mind, And I pray you live long on the surface of the earth, You have to be mindful of what you say about God's servants, it carries a great consequence.

There is just nothing sensible about BBA, The contestants lack morals as far as I am concerned and I believe any right thinking young man or woman would not emulate them, I am still trying to understand what the show is set to achieve. Mr minister, I am just too disappointed by your statement!, I believe the resilence of Nigerian youths should be seen in scientific discovery, and not in telling the whole world how rotten we could be.
Christianity EtcRe: Nigeria's Pastors 'As Rich As Oil Barons' by bankylan: 4:06pm On Jun 16, 2011
If you think it easy to start a church and have souls attending, Pls go and start one.
True men of God are known by the fruits they bear, If God does not call you and you want to start a church, you will end up being a failure.
Bro,If unbelievers can be rich, how much more the men of God,
How many will pray to pass through the trials these men of God passed thru.
You have not seen anything yet in the kingdom of God, If Coca cola could spend billions of dollars on advertisement, I believe we need to spend far above that in propagating the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is the era of wealth transfer in God's kingdom, You better sow into the lives of the true men of God and proper, or you condemn them and be cursed for life,
Christianity EtcRe: Nigeria's Pastors 'As Rich As Oil Barons' by bankylan: 1:58pm On Jun 16, 2011
It is only frustrated and poor people with no hope of tomorrow that speak evil of men of God. It is a curse to speak against anointed men of God. It is not your business to judge them. I want to correct a false belief. Men of God don't live on tithes. If Pastors and we xtians are not rich ,what then is our proof that we serve a living God. If your pastor is not blessed, what testimony does he have that will make you hope in God, These men of God are simply using biblical principles to create wealth. The Bible says in 2nd chronicle 20 vs 20 that your prosperity lies in the mouth of your prophet. My Pastor is the number 1 giver in my church. His tithe is more than that of any church member. You ask what he does? He is a strategic businessman, yet he preaches twice on Sundays, and also conducts mid week services,
In my personal analysis of people that speak evil of true men of GOD, I found out that they are poor, frustrated, unemployed, lacking in vision, unbelievers, and those under family curse and demonic bondage.
My dad is a retired pastor in CAC, It was God blessings that made him to send 6 of us to the University with a salary of less than 20,000 per month. Our last born graduated as the best in his dept three years ago, Today we are all blessed and doing well. This is the warning guys, You can't speak against a true man of God and ever proper.
I have been blessed under the ministry of Pastor Ashimolowo and Bishop Oyedepo. These are men of God who are shining lights to this world, The anointing you respect, you attract. If wealthy ,educated, and influential people of this world have brought themselves under the anointing of these men of God, i wonder why someone with nothing will only critizise, Well, it doesnt take intelligence to speak evil of men of God.
