Nigerian youths are the most gullible in the world. You don't find then on quora or any intellectual forum where real issues are being discussed. Even on Nairaland.com and Linda, they only comment on politics and gossips. The future is bleak for a generation that is mentally enslaved. Four years will come and go, your life will still remain the same if all you are waiting for is for these old politicians to come to your rescue. I can't believe that guys in their thirties and forties will still call themselves names online because of these politicians. With all I read on nairaland.com, the future is bleak with the mentality of an average Nigerian youth. |
mars123:A man of integrity like Buhari should have done a screening before allowing financial support from these corrupt politicians before election...... |
Why do Nigerian youths fight and insult themselves online all in support of the politicians that think less of them....their children are living large, you are using your last dime to buy data just to come and sing praises of your idols and insult anyone who does not share your opinion...It is obvious what will become of this nation in the next twenty years. Youths are mentally enslaved. |
Bdemmy:May God give you mental health that is obviously lacking. What a slave mentality you've got! |
lurther:You obviously dont know the relationship that exists between Fowler and Tinubu. And when I heard of his appointment, I laughed! This country is a huge joke! |
searching4love:I hope you have a successful career. At least we have heard of Mikel and his achievement in his chosen career. But for you, thank God for a free platform like Nairaland, otherwise no one would have heard of you. Oh, I forgot to add, that you still remain under the cloak of anonymity even on a free platform. You are then an ingrate for using this platform to bash someone whose success in life you may not be able to surpass. Not that I am writing you off, but judging the way you failed to objectively analyse Mikel's situation. It does not take any intelligence to criticize! My advice is that you should be less critical! It says alot about your growing up. |
ej77:illeteracy! Cant you read and comprehend? No wonder Africa is this backward. |
My Gateman- Umaru is of the opinion that there are many car owners and expensive phone owners in Nigeria. Umaru collects 15,000 as monthly salary and he has a wife and four children to feed. He wonders why people will spend 5 million naira on a car when they can actually board a bus and also wonders how on earth some will spend 70,000 naira on a phone. The fact is that we all have our levels of extravagance. In a population of 170m people, and only 146 have private jets should not be a concern. Someone is looking at you and wonders why you should pay 2m naira for a flat in Maryland, when you can get a flat of same bedrooms in Mile 12 for 250k. Who among us is not extravagant? |
...The future is bleak for Nigerian youths judging from comments on Nairaland. Youths are now repeating the mistakes of their fathers. The mental slavery in Nigeria is alarming! When able bodied men and women now believe it is their grandparents that will determine their future, then the future is not only bleak but a mirage. |

kaypound:Over 90 percent of our export is from oil from Niger delta. Other regions have been parasitic and lazy. The problem is not with Govt, but people who have no creativity and productivity in their blood. We should be grateful to Niger delta for now until we find solutions to our dormancy as a nation. If there is no oil revenue, Nigeria will be brought to her knees. Diversification is not what happens overnight knowing fully well our limitation as black. Can we survive even in the short run should there be a stoppage to oil revenue? I doubt it. The only positive thing is that the oil is not from the north;we would have all been enslaved. The Niger delta people are very humane and we should be grateful to them. |
otunsman:This is what you can write when stupidity is hereditary. If 90percent lives in poverty so it is 10 percent that bought jet and still maintains the best private university in the country...Church is not poor! Only the jobless and frustrated will sound like you. |
The future is bleak for this nation after reading comments on social media. Buhari was in his thirties when he became a military governor, was in his forties when he became military president. Over thirty years later, he is now the one to determine the future of jobless youths in their thirties and forties.....what a mentally subjected generation..... |
Thank God North is not the region sustaining this nation, maybe we would have been enslaved. After spending a year in the north, I conclude that it is a disgrace that the northerners have had the largest share in leadership in Nigeria. How I wish the Niger delta can stop the flow of oil. |
Why all the talks about US visit? And with all the comments on social media, I wonder if there is hope for this nation. Many are mentally enslaved. As for Mr President, I wonder if you have any moral justification to probe anyone. If u must start, start with those that bankrolled your election. |
....this is a great news as long as all the beneficiaries of corruption including Buhari will be jailed....corrupt politicians sponsored his election. he needs to unravel the source of the private jet he used for campaign. He who that comes to equity must come with clean hands. phlemzy: |
When you read comments by Nigerians on social media, one can conclude that the future is bleak for this nation... |
The number one problem of Nigeria like any other African country is not corruption but knowledge gap as evidenced in this write up.. The world economy is a knowledge based one......If we can't tap into our creative abilities and create wealth, we won't witness any change ......I am looking for that President who will govern Nigeria without oil......... With comments written on social media...u can predict the future of Nigeria. It is bleak! But not for anyone who is taking his destiny in his own hand. |
Foolish talk, ...who will level Niger delta when there is no Nigeria without Niger delta... sauceny: |
There is nothing stupid and insane as imagining Buhari as the president of Nigeria.......What is more worrisome is the numbers of mentally subjected youths who see him as their saviour.....I can understand Tinubu or Amaechi 's interests, but I still don't know why someone who went to school will be shouting Sai Buhari....is it a case of memory loss or pure insanity?....I am not a fan of Jonathan, but I will support him coz of what I know about the gang up against him by people who have no good intentions for Nigeria |
Are we saying youths in every past of this country can start killing innocent souls just because there is no job?...Is poverty an excuse for Jihad?........Tell me that nation in the world where there is no unemployment. Obasanjo seems to be making a case for Boko Haram......He is loosing it just to bring Jonathan's government down...... Obasanjo has lost 'its' relevance.......I am no longer seeing him as being human hence my use of 'its'. |
The recent happenings in Nigeria have shown the quality of Nigerian youths. There is a high level of illiteracy, low self esteem, mental degradation, and lack of vision on the part of Nigerian youth. We are the GenVoices guys that were all over the country some months back? Though I am not a fan of GEJ, but I think it is pure insanity to say that he has not done anything at all. I would have expected a more reasonable act from Obasanjo, but knowing that the whole fight about change is nothing but personal interests. I am only concerned about people's gullibility and a pseudo hope for something better from APC........ |
What a shallow piece....you obviously don't understand Bible as u tried to portray. I didn't see objectivity but rather an outburst of a perverted mind. What change is being referred to? By Buhari or Tinubu?...It baffles me that people are seeing Buhari as an agent of change when he is being sponsored by proceeds of corruption by killers and corrupt fellows.....GEJ may not be doing well, Buhari is never an alternative. When we are ready for a change, we will all do away with PDP and APC....The attack on Bishop does not in any way stop God's work. You can criticize church, but the kingdom of God is growing. When u realize that Muslims don't pay to put their programs on TV and Churches are heavily charged to preach the Gospel, you will realize why the Church should come together at this time...There are many things not open to many people supporting Buhari.... W |
This is illeteracy! I am not a fan of either GEJ or Buhari, but I wonder why most Nigerian youths don't read to know what the law says....Put emotion aside and try to reason very well. Buhari simply failed to do the right thing. If this is the change we clamour for, God will help us. drnairalov: |
......The emergence of Buhari as APC Presidential candidate is an assault of the intelligence of Nigerian youths......The acceptance of a Professor to be his running mate is a discouragement to any one who still believes there is a better tomorrow.......We all seem to be in a state of illusion.....We appear to be under spell! But anytime I see how ordinary female anopheles mosquitoes kill our children and pregnant women, I wonder if we will ever be able to challenge the illiterate politicians who feed on our common wealth. Where are the GENVOICES guys that were everywhere some months back? We need a change, but what type of change are we hoping for? |
I am from the South west, and I believe there is a gang up aginst the South south people because whoever emerges the President will see over the license renewals of the oil blocks that are due in 2016.......I am not a fan of Jonathan, but I will support him for re election. The generals backing Buhari only want the nothing but the oil....they want to maintain their grip on the oil and Jonathan is being seeing as an obstacle....The insurgency was intensified to discredit this administration.........Thank God oil is not in the North, the whole Nigeria would have been enslaved.,,.......But I think we all need to let the North know that they can't continue to dictate for all Nigerians...... ichidodo: |
In a sane society, nobody will be considering Buhari as an agent of change: If all the 'power blocks' gang up just for the sake of power and oil, then an average Nigerian becomes the looser. If Buhari has a conscience and he is indeed a man of integrity, he will not allow robbers and killers to be his sponsors. Jonathan has not done enough, but I will rather fail forward and not fail backward by opting for B |
Take control of your life......No govt will do any of these for you in Nigeria.....Fow how long will you wait for politicians to come and rescue you out? Your destiny is big man...wake up...Take responsibility for your life. adeoladrg: |
There is no future for any nation who is having a mentally weak 72 year old as the President........The future is also bleak for a nation with a weak sitting President.......The main tragedy is when the youths of a nation fight one another online over these two: The recent happenings have revealed how hopeless Nigerian youths are: How will I in my sanity think that it is either GEJ or Buhari that will change my life? Why will someone in his right state of mind believe that PDP or APC will bring about prosperity to this nation? Is it because we have suffered years of neglect that we now celebrate mediocrity of building roads and bridges? In our usual gullibility, the politicians have come again with lies and deceit, and we are so deficient mentally that we don't even analyse what they say! They appeal to our emotions, and we just believe what they say..... Whoever wins the election, will not change anything! The fight about this election is about OIL BLOCK LICENCE. Whoever becomes the President will be the one to determine who gets the licences that are due for renewal in 2016/17. The pawns in this fight are the foolish Nigerian youths who fight online for someone's father when their own fathers are yet to even enjoy the investments made on them by sending them to schools. |
.....Now I know the disadvantage of freedom of speech: It is better you maintain your silence rather than displaying your ignorance. You need to know what the electoral law says about Presidential candidates!...What does it take for your father to present an authentic certificate? Why should the issue of certificate linger for even a month? I am not a fan of GEJ, but if indeed we need a change, your father should have cleared the mess generated by this certificate issue. GEJ is weak, but to think Buhari is the only Nigerian than can save this nation is nothing but absolute mental degradation many Nigerian youths are suffering from. |
This is sheer ignorance!....Your diploma or B.sc does not matter without the minimum requirement. tbaba1234: |
What a shame from a Nigerian youth!!!!Many obviously do not know the implication of what Buhari did. I am a neutral party, and all I can say that Buhari is lying, and we can not because he is Buhari now waved a minimum requirement for him. jingh: |
