Leadway is still the best generally and among insurance brokers....They have the largest capacity, very conservative, and good management. Among the corporate clients- Leadway leads...and in the retail market, Mansard is challenging. Mansard is getting stronger, but I am sure they will spoil insurance market given their rate cutting. They have not been tested over time, and this is the edge Leadway has over them. Mansard gives ridiculous rate, and they seem to be too desperate to get deals without sound risk management framework. Aiico, IGI and Custodian are ok too. But in terms of capacity, claim payment, sound management, premium collection, risk management-Leadway is still the best....This is why an international bank-Standard chartered bank is in partnership with them. Their service delivery is not as good as that of mansard, but generally, they the best in the country. Ask any top insurance broker. |
Iran that was dealt with by Iraq....how many days did it take US to Capture Baghdad in Iraq?..forget iran, for get russia gboss4sure: I doubt china will do anything directly, they have a policy of no interference though they might secretly supply ammunition's to syria via russia. The people that might intervene is Iran and Russia because Russia has lots of interest in Syria, the war wull be a tussle for who will become the new world power after america. Iran or Russia |
Now I know one more reason why some people will be perpetually poor. I follow Christ, and I know the difference between the person and the principle of Christ. From what you have written, I can see that it is a waste of time discussing with a shallow mind like yours. Please mark my words, and go and write it down..a time is coming that you will realize the truth. I guess you 'know' the person of Jesus Christ, but His principles I believe you don't know. Mind you, His person guarantees you heaven...His principles will make you reign and have relevance on the surface of the earth. You are like those people described by Apostle Paul...'Having zeal, but no understanding. If you understand the power of seed to your man of God, then you would not have written this. frosbel: |
What a shallow piece from a shallow mind....I challenge the poster to a one on one meeting...I am 100% sure that this poster is poor not only in wealth but in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Are you more intelligent than millions of wealthy professionals in church who give to God, and to their Pastors? If you don't understand spiritual matters, you should seek for knowledge.....Should you think I have been influenced by church teachings, you will have to prove to me that you are more intelligent and learned than I. It is not in the place of the Pastors to give to church members who don't have money. And any church member who is waiting for his pastor to pay his bills, will likely die in poverty. May God continue to bless me to give to my Pastor. |
I visited St Gregory college in Obalende and I was really happy with what I saw. The school is well maintained, classrooms that have been built over hundred years ago are still looking strong and new. The environment is neat, and the students are well dressed in their white uniform. I was shown the labs, the computer room, the hostels, sporting facilities, and the library and I could not believe my eyes seeing the high standard of these facilities. I entered the old students secretariat and I was told that old students come around almost on daily basis. They are proud te be called Gregorians. I was sure this school could not belong to the government, so I asked who the owner is. I was told the Catholic mission owns the school and has been investing on the school since they took back ownership from the government 12 years ago. Then I asked one of the teachers,' how much does it cost in a year to send a child to St Gregory, and he answered-'around 1 million naira'. And I was told the tuition has to be reviewed upward in the coming years so as keep the standard of the school. I stood still because I personally felt a missionary secondary school belonging to Catholic mission should not be that expensive. Then I looked around to see all the good facilities, and I asked myself 'where will the money to sustain this standard come from if the students are not made to pay it'? Then I reasoned, if it costs a 12 year old boy 1m naira to attend a secondary school belonging to a Catholic church, it is greatly unfair to Condemn COVENANT or REDEEMERS universities and their owners over the tuition fees they charge. If you want the best, you have to pay for the best. Kudos to Catholic mission..Kudos to St Gregory college...The campus is unbelievable! |
mere certificate awarding institutions......I am sorry for this nation... |
....I am really happy for YEMI Sax.....years back when I was living in Sabo Yaba, Yemi was a member of a Redeem Church-Glory worship center beside my house....Each time I heard him on Sunday morning, I would opt to come to Redeem instead of going to my church then.... He is such a talented Saxophonist and one of the best in Nigeria....I wish him the very best, and I wish he still remembers his root and where he started from...............though church may not be able to the bills, but God is able to pay the bills if only we can truly serve God.. I am not sure if he still plays in Church....but I will strongly advise him never to forsake the house of God. |
firstolalekan: U sounded like u know U.S very well. U think its buy mouth. What does U.S even have? _ because of there show-off. Ua a learner.Ask the Pakistani authorities..find out how Osama bin Ladin was killed......find out about Israeli Drones.....then you will know what they are made of........Intelligence that world has ever known and probably will ever know... |
firstolalekan: I know ua 1 of those f,u,cking zionistslol....the whole Middle east and all the Arab countries can not defeat Israel, let alone America. I don't know how much you know about military capabilities of Israel and US, and how rapidly they are developing modern weapons that world has never known. Besides, the promise of God with Israel is for ever and nothing will change that.... |
If you are not from one of the top B-Schools, coming to Nigeria with your foreign degree will not automatically give you a good job....the likes of LBS,Cranfield,Insead, HARVARD, Hass, Hec, Stanford, ROTMAN,Ivey with impressive work experience can give you a good job. But I am not sure of the likes of London South Bank, Southampton, e.t.c. |
justmythought: Dont be myopic my friend. Where Lagos has one set of legislative, judiciary and executive arms of government -- Nigeria has thirty six with all sorts of interests along state, regional, national and international lines. Is there a future for this country where mediocrity is celebrated? Is someone calling Tinubu a leader? Are we less human as blacks? |
bankylan: You need to apply for MBA or M.SC Finance at any B-School in the US,Canada or UK......even at that, you have to really compete for IB jobs as they are few and highly competitive....make sure you have some work experience before heading back to Nig. But I doubt, if you will want to come back unless the likes of FBN Capital, BGL, Vetiva, SCB offer you anything above 18m per annum.Schools you can go to, Chicago Booth, Tuck, Hass Berkeley, Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Wharton, NYU, etc in the US, then ROTMAN of Univ of Toronto, Schulich of YORK, and IVEY -all in Canada, then LBS, Cranfield, Oxford, Imperial, Cass in UK, AND INSEAD, HEC, and EDHEC in France. These schools are expensive, but with a good GMAT score, you can get about 50% off your tuition. |

manny4life: Go to an Ivy League school, graduate, then head back to NigeriaI will advise that you go to a B school in the US or Canada for your MBA, work for two years and come back to Nig. |
fega m: bibilari...president elect...so azuri has handed over?...anyway happy to hear d good performance, atleast for once, i'm proud to be an alumni..'alumni' or 'alumnus'?......GNS 101...lol.....please make demno yarb u jor....oya, correct urself! Better by far........I am still angry with Unilorin; thought I would graduate with First Class. |
talktimi:There is one OAU Eco graduate in my office too. The guy confirmed that they were not given the best of knowledge. The guy has 2.1 too; I told him he would be lucky to have 2.2 in Unilorin or UI. My judgment is based on what I know about him in respect to his intellect. For Economics, I will advise anyone to go to Ilorin or UI in Nigeria. And if you have the money, please just travel abroad. The reason being that the curriculum here in all Nigerian schools is outdated and being taught by 'professors and Dr' who are outdated. |
Sam Milla: Philip Emeagwali - The father of computer - IgboPlease and please don't mention Philip Emeagwali.......Google his name and see the facts that will come up. The guy is a scam! 'The father of computer'? Please never say this again...He is a man every Nigerian should be ashamed of. He claimed to be what he is obviously not. You can't fool everyone nowadays. |
Dangote is aged 55 and he is worth 12b dollars....Many of us spend our entire lives on Facebook everyday and Mark Zukerberg aged 28 is worth 17.5 billion dollars. Just a simple idea with no need for hectares of land, large plants and machinery, thousands of trucks to be driven, yet a young Harvard drop out could make a meaning out of life. Until you unlock your creative abilities, you live a life less intended of you. I don't have anything against those that are employed as truck drivers for Dangote, but I think it is even better to own your Danfo and drive it by yourself in this Lagos. With this, you control your own life and reduce the risk of traveling long distances. Is this suppose to be a career or a temporary way out of unemployment? If it is the former, where will you seek employment later in life with driving experience at Dangote? If it is for latter, will your salary at Dangote be enough to set up a viable business? Just think! Seun that owns Nairaland is another example one can see. This site has a potential of earning Seun 2.5m naira in a month. I don't know how much he is making now, but there is a lot one can do on this site. I work in the banking industry, and I can't wait to resign to concentrate on my own website which is currently being developed. There is a lot you can do online nowadays. |
Are we going to fold our hands till China takes over our economy and floods our markets with China made products, and killing our own industries? The Chinese Government subsidizes their companies with investments abroad thus making local companies unable to compete favourably with them. This is the more reason US lately increased tariffs for solar producing companies from China in the US. Besides, some Chinese companies like Huawei and ZTE have been investigated of late for espionage. We can still trust the west because of their sanity, and not the Chinese for their 'unpredictability'. In all of these, I think Africa should wake up. In the present global economy, if you are not producing anything, you can not compete. We need to look into our system of education which does not prepare anyone for creativity, and application of knowledge to the real world scenario. We need to move from being able to read and write or speak 'correct' English to being able to think beyond the frontier and produce things the world has never known. The net worth of Apple Inc is more than that of many African countries. Here we celebrate mediocrity and place value on mundane things. We take pride in owing the latest phone, and not in producing the latest phone. We take pride in owing the newest car, and not in making one. We take pride in the place of our employment, and not in establishing a place to employ people. Until our education system, and political system is revamped, our economy will continue to be in a mess. Until we lay emphasis on our collective good and having a just and egalitarian society, the more desired tomorrow will be nothing but a mere illusion. |
I have a baby who is 14 months old.She feeds on SMA gold and Gerber,..and lately -Purity cereal and I believe from my experience that these cereals are good for baby's growth, mental development, and skin. I don't know much about Cerelac and Nutriend as I had never bought both simply because I don't like the brands. I hope you won't mind if I stay away a bit from ur question!!! If your baby consumes heavily like my baby, I will suggest you mix SMA gold and Gerber- though they are expensive. Sometimes you can buy Purity which is a bit cheaper, but equally good. SMA costs about 2000 depending on where you are buying from, Gerber is 750, and Purity is 550. The only thing is that she can finish the 750 Gerber is less than 48 hours, and the SMA in 3-4 days, and the Purity in 2 days, so this is not a joke at all. As the breadwinner in the house, sometimes it's going to affect you, but you have no choice other than to give your child the best. Some friends have told my wife that we should be looking at other cheaper foods, but we are not listening. My baby displays rare intelligence, started walking at 7 months, you will think she lives abroad because of her skin, I no longer have to stand up to pick TV remote, and lately she just wants nothing but her mum's Mac Pro. I will pray that God continues to bless the guy that asked this question so that he can give the baby the best. I have tried Amala and Potato, but my baby can't stand the sight of these foods let alone the taste. But she takes rice, and my housegirl told me last week that my baby finished a pack of idomie onion chicken at a go....I have not verified this, but she eats indomie too. Lastly, just give ur baby whatever is best for, and never force her to eat any food because of affordability. God bless you |
KICC....RAISING CHAMPIONS, TAKING TERRITORIES. WHAT A GREAT LEADER FROM AFRICA, A SHINNING EXAMPLE. YEARS AGO, KICC LAND WAS TAKEN OVER BY THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT, 2012, THE CHURCH WAS ALLOTTED A NEW EXPANSE OF LAND AND WAS EVEN COMPENSATED. THE RUMOUR IN NIGERIA IS THAT PASTOR MATTHEW IS NOT ALLOWED TO LIVE IN UK, YET KICC WAS GIVEN A TV LICENSE, AND PASTOR IS STILL PREACHING IN KICC LONDON EVERY SUNDAY. IF A BLACK MAN CAN ACHIEVE THAT MUCH IN A LAND OF DISCRIMINATION, AND IN THE LAND OF OUR COLONIAL MASTER, THEN I BELIEVE THERE IS AN UNUSUAL GRACE UPON YOUR LIFE-PASTOR MATTHEW. THIS GRACE THAT TAKES A MAN OUT OF OBSCURITY AND PLACES HIM IN A PLACE OF CELEBRATION, I DEFINITELY TAP INTO. KICC UNIVERSITY IS JUST THE BEGINNING, MORE ARE STILL COMING IN JESUS NAME. And for the critics, go and check your facts from the NUC. Immediately a church completes A university, the church hands it over, and is not involved in the running of the school. Go to NUC ,and check this fact. |
shiftbutton: Out of curriosity, why don't they also invest in humanities like building HOSPITALS like the missionaries did in those days?KICC is doing that already |
nollywood20: [size=28pt]Millions of the jobless youths in Nigeria are members of these churches and the pastors have no plans to employ them or even create cottage industries for the employment of their jobless members. But they know how to collect tithes and offerings.I was one of those miilions sometimes in the past, and I did not need Church to provide me with a Job, I needed church to empower me mentally and spiritually so that I can go out and succeed. Folks that were waiting for Church help are still there battered, frustrated, and changing churches. I am good, married, fulfilled, and waxing strong. The place of church as God intends is to empower people to prosper. I am to bring my tithes, first fruit and offerings to Church, and never expect the church to give me anything material thing or a job in exchange. God does not spend our money, He only wants my obedience. I obey God, he blesses me. For the rest of my life, I just wanna give. But if you give with the expectation of getting something back, then you have misunderstood the cross. And David said,' I will not give unto God, that which costs me nothing'. |
You said the Catholic church is richer, yet there are many jobless, and poor folks in Catholic Church in Nigeria, and very sad indeed that a Catholic Church as big as St Agnes in Yaba will go out and solicit funds from unbelievers in this country to build their Church. What a disgrace to the Kingdom of God, and the reason is just that the folks in the 'church' are not empowered. Winners build her own Church, and her own University, with her own expertise...House on the Rock, Daystar, and KICC, all have befitting edifice built by folks in the Church. Can you tell me why there so many poverty stricken folks in your Catholic Church? Tell me of anything charity or giving by Catholic church that surpasses the donations and charity of Winners or Redeem. You mentioned Apostle Paul, when Jesus promised us that if we have Holy spirit, the least among us will be greater than the Apostles. You have not seen anything yet, Christians are taking over the economy of this nation, and I will not be found missing. chukwudi44: Typical mindset of the average pentecostal minister.its all about money!! Money!! and nothing else. |
......So many frustrated and jobless folks here.. What is the big thing in owing a jet as a Pastor? With all your condemnations and abuse, the men of God are still growing strong while you are still in lack, and at the same time putting your generations to come under curse. God says,'Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm. If my man of God is not wealthy, how can he convince me that God he serves is able to provide for all my needs. So many people only embrace the person of Jesus Christ, and not His principles. His 'person' assures you of eternity with Him, and His 'principles' make us reign on earth. That is why so many people go to church and not even blessed; most are born again, but are not following God's principles. I will sow to the ministry of any man of God that wants to buy a jet, it is about tapping into the grace. Christianity is not logic, it is deep, and not for the shallow minded without the Holy spirit. Someone is mentioning Catholic church; I know of many Catholic churches that will go and distribute envelopes to unbelievers and Muslims for fund raising when they want to build their churches. This is a disgrace to the kingdom of God...In my Church-a pentecostal one, we are raising Champions, taking territories, and we will never go out to beg people out there for the house of God. The mandate of God is for Christians to dominate in every area...... I am sure there are few here with degrees from best schools in the world. If folks like me and many of my friends in Church could be givers and workers in the house of God given our exposures, work experience, traveling experience, education, and age, I wonder why some people would still believe they know more than the folks in Church. Critics, go to Winners, Daystar, KICC, House on the Rock, Redeem, on any Sunday morning, and see if you are happier, wealthier, richer, and more educated than folks you will see in the Church... I am sure low self esteem is what will make any man believe that it is impossible to be whoever you want to be. Guys, wake up, things are happening, opportunities are many. Don't be ok with salary......There are over 150millions Nigerians. If you can get a product and sell to just 50,000 Nigerians who will give you 1000naira profit on each; that is 50m. This same thought changed my life. In 2013, watch out for the Church. We need to show the Govt that they should learn from us. |
kalokalo: The North Koreans are wise people. The have armed themselves with a nuclear deterrent because they know that that is what can protect them from the World's bully and their NATO/EU vassals. Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya and Iraq would never have been attacked and destroyed if they were nuclear armed states. The Iranians will be the greatest fools on earth if they do not find a way to protect their nation and deter Washington's coming plunder and destruction as the North Koreans have done. Look at the ongoing destruction of Syria by terrorists financed, trained and armed by Obama and his NATO/Gulf puppets.Wanted to comment on your opinion before..but I decided not to when I saw ur name. Kalokalo? |
@Modicum.....This is just too shallow......Trying to find the source of wealth of a man God has blessed by applying logic is pretty dumb. While young men like you are giving millions of naira for the work of God, you put yourself in a position of one of the poor that will rather be looking for a man of God to give to them. I have never seen a blessed man criticize men of God that are blessed..it has always been the pastime of the poor, the jobless, and the frustrated. You can claim to be a Christian by religion. But being a Christian by religion does not guarantee you success and wealth if you don't follow the principle of Jesus Christ. Covenant university if built by the giving of young men and women who understand the principle of Christ. My friend is one of those people that gave to Covenant even while he was struggling as a man. Today, God has blessed him. Young man, I don't pray for money....I only need to look for opportunity to sow. Have you wondered why your criticism has not affected the men of God. Do want to say you are more intelligent than thousands of believers that go to winners on Sundays and worship God with their substance. I am not a member of winners, but I pray God bless me more so that I can sow into the ministry. I need to tap a grace there. Watch out, my own private jet is coming.....If I can afford one, I will buy one...if I can build a University, I will build one. |
SELFWORTH: Just like you eh?I went through all your posts on Nairaland just to confirm my opinion of you, and I am not surprised. I am sure you have lost hope in life, maybe because of the poverty and frustration you have suffered in life. Calling a Pastor you don't know a thief is the height of mental degradation. If at all your problem is hereditary, you should not be too boastful of it by saying things like this on Nairaland. Go and write this down, if you will ever fulfill destiny in life, you need to ask God for forgiveness. No one ever blasphemed against the ordained men of God and go free. Are you more intelligent and educated than people in church who are givers? Go to churches on Sundays and see young men and women in thousands serving God. Are u better than them in any way? Do you want to say they don't know what they are doing?... |
ONLY THE POOR,BROKE, FRUSTRATED, JOBLESS, VISION-LESS GUYS CRITIZISE MEN OF GOD |
I will not give unto God, that which costs me nothing....Folks, it is a matter of spiritual maturity. The principle of getting is by giving. I don't pray for money, when I need one, I look for an opportunity to sow a seed. When you plant a seed, harvest must come. A lot of Christians pray for money for years, and have not seen money. The basic principle is by sowing seed. Pastor Ashimolowo is a seed sower, that is why God has blessed him. A black man owing a TV STATION in the UK..YOU can confirm KICC TV. The church's land was taken years ago for use by the British authority, this year they gave them a large expanse of land, and still compensated the church. You can also confirm this online. How much is 340usd to give God? Mind you, the money does not come to his pocket. I have not seen any wealthy Christian who is not a giver.....A lot of guys here are placing eternal curses on themselves, and I pity many people here. My life is a testimony of the benefits of seed sowing. When I was jobless, I sowed.I had the opportunity of being paid by church as an instrumentalist, and I could have as well seen myself as a poor jobless graduate. But for once, I never regarded myself as one of the masses. I declined a bait of being given a hand-out'. I started sowing. God has given a job, a wife, a daughter, a house, and a future. For the rest of my life, I want to sow seed. Every opportunity I have, I want to sow seed. This is the only thing that works for me as a Christian. There is a PERSON of Christ, and a PRINCIPLE of Christ. His principle is what you need to succeed on earth, His person-for the sake of eternity. One of His principles is to be a seed sower, if you want harvest. None of you critics give to the poor as much as Pastor Matthew, none of you has made impact on this planet like him. Pastor Matthew himself is a seed sower that has given cars and houses to many people. Whatever you say does not reduce him, it only impairs your own destiny. Mind you, I am not his advocate, I am only concerned about the level of ignorance in this part of the world and how devil has conditioned the mind of people. For those who like to give to the poor, before you give to the poor, give your first fruit, your tithe, your offering, give to your parents, your family, then o the poor. This is the order of heaven. Many give to the poor to get the accolades of men, but God is a jealous God. Cain's offering was rejected just because he did not give God his first fruit. Guys, may God enlighten you the more. But as for me, I want to be a seed sower for the rest of my life. And, I will not give unto God that which costs me nothing. |
......I hope Seun Osewa will be sensitive enough and try to do something about people saying negative things about ordained men of God. He provides this platform, and I hope he will not be held accountable. I wouldn't know how much success he has achieved, but I am sure he still has a long way to go..but for having this platform, I really respect him and I give kudos to him. But if he does not want this platform to be stagnant or lose its worth, I strongly believe he has to censor what is posted on this site especially as regards men of God. He has the traffic, but I am wondering if someone like me will ever want to put my advert on nairaland given my perception of the caliber of people that often visit this site. I don't see them as potential buyers!!! You want to see comments that are not subjective, deep, and intelligent, but it seems the majority of the visitors are unemployed and frustrated folks. There are few people with intelligent comments, and I am sure some of them will have my reservations. But my fear is if Seun is a Christian by faith or by religion. If it is later, then I won't expect any change or his 'thank you' for my comments. |
I am sure Tee Mac is missing something. Does he own a car? Is the car worth 5 million naira? Why will Tee Mac own a car when there are millions of Nigerians and thousands in his neighborhoods who can not afford 3 square meals? Can't he go in molue to perform, and ride on Okada to Muson center, and charter Danfo for his band? Does he have a house? why will he build a house when he can rent one for as little as 250,000 per year in Ikorodu? At least he can use his money to feed the poor. Tee Mac is obviously not a man with depth and spiritual maturity, but a man with logic, and that is why I am not surprised by his comment. Is he aware of how much Winner is giving as welfare? The fact that he does not have information about this does not mean the church is not doing this. The place of Pastor is to empower and not to give hand out to people. This will shock anyone...the people that expect to receive money, food, and material wealth from men of God are likely to remain poor for the rest of their lives. The widow in the bible, why will Elijah ask her to prepare him his last meal? I have met with many rich men, and one thing I know of them is that they give to men of God. I mean men that were once broke and poor. But this is a spiritual thing, and I do not expect many to agree with me. I pray that God will bless me more to be a giver, and to give to men of God. If you want to break the yoke pf poverty, you have to tap into the grace of those who have conquered poverty. Please this is not what any man of God has made me to believe, this is what my bible has taught me. This has worked for me and my family. Tee Mac, you are able to own a car because you can afford it and it is a necessity and not a luxury for you...Bishop is able to afford jets, because it is a necessity for his ministry and he can afford it... And if I can not castigate you for owing a car because I don't know what else you do or how much God has blessed you...you should also not castigate someone who has a jet when it is obvious that you don't know everything about him and how much God has blessed him. BUT IF YOU THINK A JET IS TO MUCH FOR BISHOP OYEDEPO TO HAVE, KNOW THAT MY GATEMAN UMARU BELIEVES A CAR IS TOO MUCH FOR TEE MAC TO HAVE.... |
