grin You will soon wish you bought at #1020 today as rate might reach #1200 as things are going. The CBN seem to have lost break. I can't buy dollar at #1000 now too, it ain't worth it, as the quality remain same.
The rate will start coming down by Nov/Dec. This scenario being played out now is very similar to late last year's.

To anybody who still can't do it: Only one "forward slash" symbol (i.e. /) must be present after the ".com", ".net", etc. in the URL of the gif image you want to use.

For example this will work: https://j.gifs.com/MZqOlA.gif

It does not work if the number of slashes after ".com" is more than one.

Hi guys, anyone else had the experience where in the tracking info on nipost website, it has already been indicated as "LAGOS IMPC, INSERTED INTO THE BAG" from "edi received" and then a week later, it's been removed. I have attached a screenshot of the current tracking info from ni post website and also screenshots from other apps. I also went to the post office office on friday to check but it wasn't there.
If your item isn't a phone or electronic gadget, just try to wait patiently for it to arrive at the PO. Otherwise, start fasting and prayer ASAP because anything can happen. Why did you choose Singapore Post for the shipping?

Has anyone has this issue of seller ignoring message on aliexpress.
I ordered 3 package for a friend on 20/09/2023 that was last week Wednesday, 2 of the items have been shipped but last one which is a wrist watch has not been shipped by seller.
I have message him but he doesn't reply
What do you suggest I do?
Cancel the order and get refund or give seller more time?
It is simple, if you can't wait then cancel it. If eventually you cancel the order, you would lose some money if you used a Naira denominated MasterCard /Visa Card. Also, don't expect fast shipping if you selected free shipping.

I don't use grey. I already signed up with them but ran away on seeing their charges – card creation and others.

That said, If I'm to choose between Bitmama $ Cardrypto, I'd go for the latter. The reason is that using Cardrypto, you can fund your card with all the usdt in your wallet, even up to the last cent, but Bitmama won't allow you do that (they just must retain some cent of usdt in your crypto wallet) – an attitude typical of Nigerian fintech!
Anything Naija fintech is not to be trusted. Bitmama recently completed maintenance on their card services some days ago. I had a few cents on my virtual card balance before they started their "maintenance". After it ended, I discovered that they cleared the few cents from my card balance. Is that not daylight robbery?

There's a new virtual card in Binance marketplace section called "All-in-one card".

You can fund the virtual card directly from your Binance account at zero cost and the only fee is a 2% charge for card top up.

Yes I refused to treat her illness because the new man sleeping with her should do that .. My job is to take good care of my children.
Okay, your people were tribalistic and didn't support your marriage to a Yoruba, but you still went ahead? That's enough to know the origin of your problems.

You really try by answering that stupid question, I will never answer such a question. my advice is our people should understand Nigeria can never be our country because our children will go through this nonsense when we die, i was lucky to have mingled with North and Yorubas, Yorubas are so evil and they have deep hatred for Igbos, I will never wish my worst enemy to go through what I went through, it's sickening and disgusting ..... I had a Yoruba wife with children but the woman is dead now, she died because of this hatred while I'm still waxing stronger everyday, the children are in university now but their Yoruba family never stop sowing seed of hatred in the heart of my children which I don't give a fvck about, they are women anyway and will get married in few years.... but I never stopped handling my responsibility as a father starting from the daycare until University .... they will likely marry there, the grandmother and their mother sisters are in charge of their decisions .... While I'm the one footing every single bill, well I am doing it firstly as a father and Igbo man who will never run away from his responsibilities like Yorubas, Yes I am doing quite well.

A Yoruba man would have run away and forgotten his children.
I spit on your tribe

Igbos are your father in anything
Sorry to say, but you are an example of an old person that lacks wisdom. If you as a person have a problem with the whole Yoruba tribe then the problem lies within you.

It wasn't free shipping. Paid about 20k for Aliexpress Standard Shipping. Pouch that I brought 4 days before ordering for the tablet got delivered by speedaf 2 weeks after.

In the review , someone in Nigeria bought from the seller and it got delivered yesterday through same Nipost through Singapore Post.

I check by the PO today if the package has arrived
Just keep hoping that it gets delivered safely. Otherwise, you will have to get an official document from NIPOST HQ in Abuja to proof that your item didn't get delivered. With that, you can get a refund from AliExpress.

Was it free shipping? One of the disadvantages of free shipping is that the seller will use their preferred shipping method which in most cases will be the cheapest (aka NIPOST)

My point is:

The government had on June 14, 2023 floated the Naira and tried to bring the official rates from about N460/USD to N755/USD (close to the former black market rate), but it has now led to more GREED with the N200 difference that was experienced between the official rates and black market within the first 2 weeks of August 2023.

Conclusively, if the so-called official exchange rate is now merged with the black market rate, PMS pump prices would spike again and I fear that the so-called aboki black marketers would still find a way to further increase their rates to over N1000/USD in order to still make more profits and greedy folks would still keep flooding to them in the crazy unending cycle. Agreed it's part of market psychology but there are very dire consequences for GREED!

The official FX rates from banks and
BDCs should be enough for those family members for instance getting FX from those of us in the Diaspora, but greed pushes some to patronise abokis. What kind of stupidity is that?! They can even lose their FX money to fraudsters among the aboki black marketers.

Better to fully outlaw them ASAP.
I think you are missing the whole point. The official market which is being called Importers and Exporters Window doesn't even have enough supply of dollars at official rates. There is limited supply of dollars in the country and the demand is high. CBN doesn't print dollar notes. So what do you think should happen? Most of the demand are now being diverted to the black market.
It is not about GREED.

It is the so-called black marketers (who are illegal worldwide by the way) that should be forcibly banned and ruthlessly jailed after court trials for illegal speculations in FX.
No where in the respectable countries are illegal speculators in
FX allowed to gain footholds!

The BDCs have also now been restored by the CBN after Godwin Emefiele stopped their FX markets participation, and they will have to do proper accounting of their daily, weekly and monthly business activities to the CBN as a major condition.
Oga, black marketers are people like you and me that collect hard currencies from friends and relatives overseas. Why would you go to the bank to exchange your money at an unfavorable exchange rate while the black market rate is much more higher?

The problem is that the demand from importers, manufacturers, travellers, students, etc. is far higher than the supply.

Well said!

I also just mentioned the same thing above about this USDT thing. It is a so-called stablecoin that the creators have been fingered in financial infractions in the past and have been investigated by the U.S. regulatory authorities. There is absolutely NO basis for the use of Tether to determine the exchange rate of a country tbh.

=> https://www.cnbc.com/2022/05/12/tether-usdt-stablecoin-drops-below-1-peg.html

=> https://cointelegraph.com/news/which-stablecoins-were-actually-stable-during-this-week-s-sudden-bitcoin-price-crash

For more about the potential risk of stablecoins, check out Cointelegraph’s latest video report.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W14xZHWG85Q

People should be made to exchange their hard currencies at fair exchange rates in the banks so that arbitraging will stop!
I have been preserving my money in USDT and other stablecoins since 2020 when 1USD was still much less than 550 Naira in the black market and I have gained hundreds of thousands of naira just by doing that. The benefits of doing that compared with the alternative of keeping my money in a Naija bank account is tremendous. God punish Banks, CBN and Naija as a whole. I don't owe the government anything because they serve no benefit to me.

Blocking access to all crypto exchanges in Nigeria with the aim of reducing activities of currency speculators will only result in an adverse effect on the exchange rate because you are still encouraging forex scarcity.

You cannot stop crypto activities because of it's decentralized nature. Even a very technologically advanced country like China hasn't been able to achieve control

A way has to be found by the Central Banks and international financial bodies to deal with those speculating on Tether [USDT] to distort the financial markets. How can people be using USDT to speculate in the blackmarkets? Enough of the greed! Confidence has to be given too to folks to be contented with the normal exchange rates and put their funds in fiat USD domiciliary accounts.

USDT and other so-called stablecoins/cryptos are NOT safe long-term. The founders of USDT have been indicted in financial infractions more than once in the past so those people who are busy gloating that the Naira to fiat USD is crashing should take note. The U.S. financial regulatory authorities and others in the West are NOT comfortable with these stablecoins that can easily go south AND PEOPLE WILL LOSE ALL THIER MONEY.

Wow. Your post is really funny.

Do you think Tether is the only one out there? Are PYUSD (PAYPAL's newly lunched stablecoin) and USDC not also stablecoins?

USDT even has a larger marketcap than Bitcoin which speaks volumes to its trustworthiness and security. There are many stablecoins out there and you're here focusing on USDT.

You can even go to to Huobi exchange and swap USDT for PayPal's new stablecoin (PYUSD) if you're scared of holding USDT.

I can guarantee you, blocking access to all crypto exchanges in Nigeria with the aim of reducing activities of currency speculators will only result in an adverse effect on the exchange rate because you are still encouraging forex scarcity.

You cannot stop crypto activities because of it's decentralized nature. Even a very technologically advanced country like China hasn't been able to achieve control.
BusinessRe: New Social Media Trend You Don't Want To Miss. by BannedUser: 8:11pm On Aug 13, 2023
expertjerry:
They Want You to Go Broke

I've noticed a trend on social media lately where people are quick to put others down for their success.

If someone posts about their new car, their dream vacation, or their promotion, there will always be someone in the comments who is quick to say something negative.

These people are often jealous of your success.

They may be unhappy with their own lives, and they see your success as a threat.

They may also be insecure, and they feel the need to tear you down in order to make themselves feel better.

Let me tell you that these people don't matter.

They are not worth your time or energy.

Instead of letting their negativity get to you, focus on your own goals and your own happiness.

If you're feeling down about your success, remember that you're not alone.

Many people experience jealousy from others.

The important thing is to not let it discourage you.

Keep working hard and achieving your goals.

If you're feeling jealous of someone else's success, take a step back and ask yourself why.

Are you unhappy with your own life? Are you insecure?

Once you understand the root of your jealousy, you can start to address it.

Remember, everyone is on their own journey.

Comparing yourself to others will only make you unhappy.

Instead, focus on your own goals and your own happiness.

You'll be much happier in the long run.
You have missed the whole point. In the first place, things like these are not meant for social media. Why would a sane human being post something like that if it's not to brag or to show off? Those stuffs are meant for the consumption of family and very close friends. The rest of the public has no business knowing things like that.

To convert USDT to physical cash is possible but not a easy and straightforward process. I usually fund a virtual Visa card or MasterCard with USDT to enable me buy stuffs on AliExpress, Amazon, etc. There are P2P exchangers that can help fund your dom account with USD by paying USDT. It is also possible to convert USDT to PYUSD (a new USD stablecoin issued by Paypal) and pay US based paypal user.
