Phones / Re: Please My Phone Was Stolen And I Got A Message by BannedUser: 9:06am On Jan 24, 2023
drake49:
Good evening Everyone. Please my Redmi phone was stolen. I had my Xiaomi cloud account logged in. I tried to track it since Saturday. This evening i go a message on one of my other number that “'Your cellphone is used by another SIM card, position is:
MCC:**; MNC:$$; CELLID:10##; LAC: ###’
Please what can i do from here?

This info tells you the location of the phone based on which cell phone tower (base station) the phone GSM network is currently connected to. Each cell phone tower everywhere in Nigeria has a unique ID code that's specific to it's location.

LAC: The Location Area Code, abbreviated as LAC is the unique number given to each location area within the network. The served area of a cellular radio access network is usually divided into location areas, consisting of one or several radio cells.

CELL ID: GSM Cell-ID (CID) is a unique number by which GSM towers or the sector of the GSM tower can be identified within a location area code (LAC) or a GSM network.

MNC: The Mobile Network Code, abbreviated as MNC, is a code uniquely identifying a mobile network operator (MNO). This can be either MTN, Glo, Airtel, etc.

MCC: Mobile Country Code

Write the numbers for each of them in full.

The full MNC code will tell you the mobile operator (MTN, Glo, etc.) the SIM inside the phone is using.

Once you get this, you can contact the relevant mobile operator. They can determine the phone's user and location using the other info and the phone's IMEI.

But you will have to go through the police before the mobile operator can take any action.

Technology Market / Re: This Thread Is Only For Aliexpress Shopper by BannedUser: 1:26pm On Jan 21, 2023
aking123:
Pyypl has the best rates, followed by klasha for now.

As at today, these are the rates for the different providers I have personally tried myself. I tried them both on Alexpress app and the web version of aliexpress to be sure, since some cards don't work on the app for the first time.

CashEx:
Conversion To USD: 1 USD = N742
Conversion From USD: 1 USD = N734
They Charge $1 for transactions btw $0-$50, $1.5 for transactions btw $51-$100, $2+0.5% for transactions over $100
They Charge $2 for deposits, first deposit per month is free.

Chippercash:
Using dollar card, rate - 765/$
On apple payment using dollar card, an additional conversion rate charged is 448.5/$ after previous dollar rate charge, because Apple charges in Naira. I am thinking the solution is to use the naira card on the Apple payment since the charge from Apple is in Naira but I don't know if it will work because haven't tried it yet.

Klasha:
751.11/$ with a minimum first card balance of 5$, no hidden charges for both deposits and transactions.

Kudiwave:
774/$ but doesn't work on Aliexpress.

Tribapay dollar mastercard:
770/$, minimum balance - $2, has other charges, i don't want to talk much since it is expensive already compared to others.

Grey:
Dollar card rate - 770/$, so high, won't talk much mbok.

Gomoney:
Owned by Sterling Bank, Discontinued, stopped working on international transactions.

Gotok:
It has not worked from my end as at today, some people have said it worked for them, me it has never since i created and funded the account weeks ago.

Pyypl:
748$ above. I topped up the dollar from my binance account, top up your binance by p2p. The Master dollarcard works flawlessly for aliexpress, hidden charge of 2% for international purchase (say from aliexpress) which is very small. Means if you order an item worth $10 you will be charged 2% of $10 which is like $0.2. No withdrawal charges, same amount when you withdraw to your binance, not tried but am sure.

Spendwise.ng:
Dollar card rate - 771/$, high, no further analysis.

After practically opening, and trying these several accounts, the above is my analysis.

Please if you have any cheaper or better idea, do let us know. I hope this my little info helps.

I used Bitmama virtual dollar mastercard. You can also request for a physical card dollar card using the app. You can fund it directly with USDT from your crypto wallet (I transferred USDT from my Binance account to Bitmama)

Charges:

* 1.5% card funding charge
* $0.42 maintenance charge
* No transaction charges

Let's say you want to buy something worth $100 on AliExpress, you will have to deposit approximately 102 USDT on Bitmama.
i.e.
100 + (1.5% x 100) + 0.42 = $101.92

Verification can be a hassle angry

ID and address verification is needed before you can request for the card

For address verification, I didn't have utility bill so I used my GTB bank statement.

The app doesn't support uploading of pdf files for address verification, so I converted GTB account statement pdf file to image file using another app before uploading. The statement period has to be very short (1 or 2 days) so that everything can fit in a single page.

This isn't suicide. She opened the door and tried getting out at the last second literally. She was presented with probably the biggest decision of her life and was too confused (or ignorant?) to make the right decision within seconds. There are many instances car tires get stuck on train tracks so It's a common occurrence. She lost her life trying to save her car.

Contrary to mass belief, electricity is actually NOT a National problem. There are states and cities in Nigeria that enjoy (at least) 16 hours of steady supply daily. But you wouldn't know that because you do not travel. You sit in the confines of your small environment and push lethargic theories, simply because Nairaland (the hotbed of fake news and tribal extremists) told you so.

Quite sad!

You chose the wrong person to argue with. I work in a 450MW capacity power station. Do you know the roles Gencos, TCN and Discos need to play in solving the energy crisis? You are a mumu

Is electricity a Lagos problem or a National problem? Dumb statement.

KangaIye:
They should leave that one first, alot of Lagos roads are very bad, they need to get them fixed and also open some alternative routes in the state to ease congestion.

You obviously don't know the magnitude of this project or are just willfully ignorant. The road to my base in Lagos has been bad for more than five years. I can gladly wait for another 5-10 years before govt. fixes the road if they can deliver 4th Mainland Bridge within the same period. At least 50% of all congestions will be reduced. I'm certain of that.

my friend sit down there. As far as Nigeria experience have taught me. No economy principles or law we were taught in school way back is apply to Nigeria system. All these demand and supply law no dey work here my friend.
No be economic subject they taught us that if money in circulation is reduce or scarce, it will force d price of goods and commodities downward. D higher d price of goods d lower d demand. Nah now wey price of things high nah him people dey build big houses buy cars. Nah poor people this your policy fit work for. U better put what u know about economics for one side.

Money go scarce for town, food price go dey go up, electronics price dey go up. Later they told us is because dollar rate to naira rate is high. Now dollar rate don reduce, price of goods and commodities no reduce.
So tell my why your economy policy is not working on us.

The problem is that you were probably thought basic economics back in school but you refused to learn or just didn't understand. You couldn't see how it affects real-life situations? This is one of the reasons why almost everything in Nigeria is backwards. BTW, the exchange rate has bounced back to 800

I'm so happy with this news. Only importers would understand my mood tonight. Dollar will drop to around 500 Naira before end of this month as predicted. Amazingly, this isn't about Naira redesign. Its a global thing. Sorry to those who changed their Naira to Dollar at a peak price.
It can never drop to 500. CBN rate is around 450. CBN only supplies commercial banks which then resell at around 500. So black market prices can never go below 600 because CBN stopped dollar sales to BDC operators since mid 2021. Even BDC exchange rate just before they were banned was 505/$.

The BDC's have done more harm to Nigeria than the ISWAP and bokoharam combined .. they should be proscribed

BDCs have no real control over black market prices. There is dollar scarcity on the street and BDCs don't print dollar notes. The vast majority of dollars entering this country is from the proceeds of crude oil sales which goes directly into the federal govt's account. The majority of Nigerians don't have access to this.
