I am worried guys, I ordered 2 phones from Aliexpress same time but only one was delivered after 1 month. The second one is no where to be found. Thought I've won my dispute and my money refunded but I want to know if someone has experienced a similar issue with Singapore post (Aliexpress standard shipping method)
What exactly was showing when you check the tracking for the phone that was lost in transit?

Bebigiby1:
It was revealed today that CBN directed Deposit Money Banks to remove the rate cap on the naira at the Investors and Exporters’ (I&E) Window of the foreign exchange market, to allow for a free float of the national currency against the dollar and other global currencies. The development came barely two weeks after Tinubu promised to unify the nation’s multiple exchange rates. Following the CBN announcement, the naira depreciated to over N700/dollar during trading on the I&E window today.

It is no longer news that Nigeria today is an import-dependent populous country with limited sources of foreign exchange. Since Nigeria economy majorly is import driven, the implication is that the demand for foreign exchange will always be higher than the supply. Under such circumstances, it is certain that allowing a free-float of the naira will have a negative impact on the currency, leading to poor exchange rate and inflation. While the inflation will impoverish the masses and lead to low demand for goods and services, the low Naira value will not lead to higher inflow of foreign currencies due to other factors such as security challenges, corruption, lack of electricity and other infrastructure deficits will limit the readiness of foreign investors to rush to Nigeria with euros and dollars. Above all, the country will pay more to service her dollar and euro-domiciled foreign loans.

It is important to note that many developed countries don't allow a free-float of their currencies, rather, they use a combination of fiscal and monetary polices to control the exchange rate. For example, EU raises interest rates to combat inflation as against euro currency. After the EU central bank increased interest rates, the euro strengthened. Nigeria has no access to such instruments. This move by CBN and Tinubu's APC government to free-float the naira will be another economic disaster (Post-Buhari era) if not properly managed.

The bottom line is that with the ill-advised free-float of the naira, inflation will increase, the people will be poorer and jobs will be lost. The government should have put in place moderate control mechanism before adopting a free-float of the currency, unfortunately this is Tinubu's style of dishing out sensitive policies without proper planning as we all witnessed how he removed fuel subsidy during the presidential swearing-in ceremony. As I said in previous post, the illegitimate Tinubu's APC government can not be trusted to offer any meaningful economic progress to Nigeria. This APC government definitely will continue the economic woes that plagued Buhari's era. Nigerians who think that Tinubu will be different from Buhari are only been sentimental and naive to their own detriment. The person occupying the office of the president may be different but this is still the same APC government that brought Nigeria to it's current economic sad state. Even Tinubu told Nigerians that "he will continue from where Buhari stopped", it is foolish to expect anything different from his government. Nigerians must reject these ANTI-PEOPLE policies!

Beautiful hogwash!

There are no developed countries currently running a dual exchange rate system. Some countries (like China) have done it before but was for a short period. There are no long-term benefits of a dual exchange rate system. South Africa only did it for ten years in the past.

Short term effects of subsidy removal and unification of exchange rates are definitely going to be negative but it's going to be positive in the long run.

The problem about we black africans is we don't plan for our future generations decades to come. We're only concerned about immediate gains.

Our total debt is over 50 trillion naira and Nigeria spent 96.3 per cent of its 2022 revenue on debt servicing. Where should we find the money to pay our debts continually?

Moreover you are an Obedient and anti-Tinubu government so it doesn't matter what effort PBAT tries to make to set the country on the right path economically, you will never support it.

The fact that gotok allows to fund in crypto through binance makes it superb.

It's still on Play Store

You guys should give tutorial on how we can gen Dollar at 700 and below as some are claiming. Shoe us road abeg

You can't buy Dollars at 700 as at now though it might have been possible a few days ago when there was a rumour that CBN devalued Naira to ₦630/$ and will be maintaining a single exchange rate for both official and back market rates.
This news led to panic selling on Binance USDT/NGN spot market and some people that already had buy orders at around 700 were able to buy dollars for cheap.

It might be because gotok card region (USA) is not of the same region as your registered account.
Try using a dom account that comes with a dollar card.

Brain-dead statement.

Reserve your punches for the CBN governor for making bad monetary policy decisions or the Federal government for crashing the economy.

My actions were no different from what BDC operators were legally doing before CBN stopped selling them forex.

When will CBN reverse the policy of no international transaction with the Naira debit cards abi na permanent ban be this.

Personally, I think it won't happen until they make CBN rate equal or almost equal to black market rate. There's a lot of arbitrage and corruption going on with maintaining different exchange rates. I made lots of money back then using ATM cards to buy USD at bank rates and selling at black market rate.

You didn't add that the user needs to have the knowledge on how to use binance to fund it. And from Ur calculation, there's very little difference in the exchange rate

You can also make a card withdrawal back to usd with no loss on gotok, but doing that with klasha comes with a big loss because you're going back to Naira at a lower dollar exchange rate.

People keep saying that gotok is for those with crypto knowledge but I funded my gotok app directly from my bank though it was at #753 to a dollar.
Is it that you guys don't know that option exists or just because the binance option is the cheapest ?

Bank Transfer option became available with the latest updates.

Funding via Binance Pay is still cheaper at less than ₦740/$

So anybody who lost their money trading crypto doesn't understand it abi? Dey talk rubbish well well, even the most sophisticated traders dey crash because of luck way you get you dey decieve yourself, wetin you know about crypto apart from what you've been told. Do you know how a crypto currency is created or even mined, no be trade something b the problem do you know the real intension of the person who created the crypto currency, you think is to make you rich?

Bitcoin doesn't care about what you use it for. If you make a bad trade decision just like in any other business, you will loose money.

It doesn't matter who created it. What matters is how decentralised the crypto is.

Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin but he doesn't have any control over it.

Like I said earlier, If you don't understand something. Stay away and stay broke, Mr. Broke.

Its not everything we see oyinbo do we copy. Just has oyinbo is not always right especially when the ideology of gay practice is not a culture that sit right and remains unacceptable with we Africans, so we should not always rush into conscenting to anything oyinbo offers the world. Even if crypto were right and feasible.. It is not good for the African business. Can we all invest our money in online crypto and eat crypto? The idea doesn't sit right. It is the same as resource or capital draining. You cannot see exactly what your investing on just like all this talk of NFT and all sort of ponzi schemes that would later worsen the spate of poverty in the Land. I tell people who still go for all these online investment despite the wreckaged caused by MMM money doubling scheme, twinkers, e.t.c, if you no get sense then and you still patronize anything online, you would never get sense again. Call it whatever beautiful name you like to include your Bitcoin, Binance, Etherium, even online betting and gambling are all the same and reckless means to a healthy wealth creation in a saner society. The intention and ideology of their creator are ambiguous and elusive and would always remain in the dark and faceless. They are all ponzi scheme and scam! Don't be deceived because you don't know the face of the monster on the other end of the computer fingering and juggling this digital figures let alone their devious intentions. I have a friend who lost all his life savings in millions of naira on online ponzi crypto investment lately and managed to survive the stroke he had as a result. I have also had my unfair share of the bites and stings. Frankly speaking without sentiments, Its not a good way to make money at all. Its an ideology that kills a fair national economic growth. Be warned! Stay off any illicit online business where you cant see where your money goes.. It would not only affect you but it would undermine your financial strength and obligations. Whenever you pursue money like this patronizing all these online ponzy ventures, your ambitiousness and enthusiasm would always outweigh or becloud your reasoning or sense of judgement. You just ain't never going to think straight and would never see yourself loseing even when your already irredeemably tumbling down the rabit hole like Alice in the wonderland because its an addiction that get you hooked. Your loosing but can't see it and even when you see it, its hard for you to believe you have lost already.

The only reason why you are saying all these is because you haven't really understood what exactly Bitcoin is and why it exists.

The whole idea of money is based on TRUST. You are only calling Naira money because you trust the Nigerian government. Plain and simple.

The ₦1000 note in your hand (or in your bank) is just like a certificate of ownership of value given to you by the government. Only the government determines whether the certificate is valid or not. You can even see what is happening to our old Naira notes.

But Bitcoin is decentralised; no single person or government has control over it.

It gives you the freedom to send and receive a store of value to anyone, anywhere in the world without the need or permission of any person or government.

And only you (and any other person that has your private keys) have access to this store of value, so nobody can seize your Bitcoin.

This type of freedom is what scares some governments and people who hold power. They don't want you to have that freedom and power.

The two earlier mentioned benefits (amongst many others) are some of the reasons why it will continue to exist.

It will still continue to exist even if all the governments of the world ban it.

binance p2p can be very annoying, i made a payment of #13600 to a seller so i can fund my gotok, but for the past one hour now he has not released payment.
please if anyone wants to buy crypto from binance through p2p, I'll advise you use express method, the rate might be higher but it's faster and safer

There are actually safeguards against fraud on Binance P2P platform.
It's not easy for someone to scam you, and you can always call for appeal if it appears a trader is behaving funny.

I have done about 30 trades on Binance P2P; 98% of the trades were manual, not P2P Express.

To help yourself, you should go for a seller with a high number of trades and completion rate.

Slow bank network is even the major issue.

I'm still experiencing this, since December last year. SPEEDAF said customs duty is not their responsibility, AliExpress refuse to refund me by claiming it's with customs and it's my job to get it myself

No information on how to reach customs, post office no hope

You can request for a refund after 75 days.

Custom agents are the number one cause of stolen packages.

From this screenshot, the first is purely nipost while the second is mostly speedaf.
That's the way it has been for me. I don't know why it was different for that particular order

Anything with "economy" will favor NIPOST over Speedaf.

NIPOST is economical because it's run by the Federal Govt, but also inherits our government's dysfunctionalities.

With AESS, and depending on your location, Speedaf will be the favoured carrier.

If you want peace of mind, go with AliExpress Standard Shipping - though more expensive.
