^^ Do we all have to be politicians? I mean I know there is this general idea that anyone who wants to fix Nigeria ought to run for office but I don't really by into that in anyway. I just saw two TV comedians ( I call them that because that is what they are to me) help change the political tone in America this fall and they did not have to sign up as politicians to get that done(talking of the guy on the Daily Show, and the other one, Steven Colbert).

I believe we need many more people to help hold our Government accountable and put it in check, not more politicians, many of whom have yet to show they really care about the people. If we had more Ganis, more Soyinkas on the outside beating down on government, we would have something resembling improvement by now. Problem is the minute they are welcomed into the political pa lour, many Nigerians turn into sycophants/arse kissers. And then you loose the number game and find the critics go back to being the minority in the equation. Do you think that if many more people made demands on their government, we would have what we have today?

For all i care Dora Akunyili is a political harlot whose stuck in tread is to join the train irrespective of the direction it is going. This time around she will witness a flop that will likely make her to go into extiction. Who the hell does she think she is? she encouraged the rigging of PDP in Ekiti state and has always stand to defend the ruling party now she thinks she can just abandon them to  join another group, it is all a shame to Her, that was the reason why i said at first that she is a political harlot. This time she will be rigged out of the contest whether by fire or by force she will be rigged out.

Personally, I have no love lost for her. I think she's just another self centred back stabbing power hungry politician.

Even thoug she wont be my first choice as a senator representing Anambra, I dont really have that much of a choice. She's a one eyed man in the land of the blind! She's just protecting her personal interests and these 'poems' she keeps coming up with is disgusting!

Oh and FYI, I'm not just from Anambra State, I live there too!

Dora is a cri^minal.Why is it now she is defecting when its just few months for her tenure as a minister to elapse. Y dint she defect years back& build her political network for APGA.She wants 2 reap where she didnt sow.If she was a political gladiator why not stick with PDP & contest the election.She knew she would loose.

To be sectarian and at the same time love Nigeria more than I do is an impossible theory and hard to sale.

Either by omission or commission, you did not state what makes "us" (who ever you referring to) to be bad eggs, and you did not state the REASON we should be "contained" (whatever you mean) in our geographical locations so that Nigeria can move "forward" (whatever that means).

I will also like you to know that without the geographical locations, then Nigeria has no definition. And anybody, whosoever think that he can "contain" the geographical locations and still have Nigeria has a hole in his brain. "Containing" any geographical location is to "contain" a big chunk of Nigeria.

And for up-tenth time, if it is impossible for us to have a level playing field in Nigeria such that where I come from is not an issue but what I can offer, then Nigeria is a mockery and not a nation.

This is democracy, so you can continue to display publicly your warped personality. Just know that your continual self delusion as the Minister for Oppression will lead to more and more clamour for self determination. Since the likes of you vehementally refused to learn from history, it might interest you to know that sentiments that led to the Biafran War are still very much around.

The only difference now is: Rather than at Umuahia, Onitsha and Enugu, the bombs will land at Abuja, Kano and Zaria.
Rather than operation wipe out the Igbos, it will be operation wipe out the Jihadists.

I think Dora is a joke. For those of you who still commend her, your quick to forget that she supported the illegal appointment of Ekiti States govenor on the PDP platform, this is the same Dora that was partying with the Minister of Education Egwu, who was at the time supposed to be negotiating on behalf of ASUU with the federal government so that Nigerian students who had been at home for months could go back to school. The same Dora who watched as the country was in suspense over the absence of Yar Adua, and only spoke out when she saw the bubble bursting.

In my opinion, Dora is a full blown politician and only looks out for her interests. She cries wolf, when she sees a way to turn things to her advantage. Hasnt she served enough in the government? Apart from the work she did at Nafdac, Which by the way was many years ago, what else has Dora done?

I have nothing against her, but lets call a spade a spade. Dora cannot be likened to Lamido/ Ribadu/ Fashola, they just are not in the same boat. Dora looks out for her interests, period.She has served as the mouth piece for the same politicians that have held our country to ransom.

All that being said, she is free like anyone else to contest, however, my question to her is, madam what do you have to offer? what will you do now that you havent done in the last four years? See how much was sunk into the rebrand nigeria project, what has she achieved so far? I think we all know the answer to that. Just my two cents

Maybe this is an attempt to rebrand herself . Madam Dora, you dont strike me as  a credible person and you do not have my vote.

One more thing, i know as Nigerians our options are limited as to who we can choose as credible leaders, we always have to choose the less of two evils, granted Dora may be slightly better than other politicians out there, but that doesnt mean we shouldnt be honest about her faults. Saying that one is better than the other doesnt serve any purpose if they are both bad. For some, their opinions of Dora is not a baseless attack, its just based on events involving her.

Nobody is perfect sha, but when you decide to go into public office, always remember that the whole point is to serve!
