@onlythetruth and bigjoe, U guyz are very correct abt Ngige's chances,2wks ago or so,I saw his campain trail here in Lagos at Agboju festac side, ngige has a lot of grassroot backing going on for him and like his campaign slogan,he's been tested and is trusted.Another thing he has going for him is the fact that he is in touch with the commonest man in the state,he's hands-on like Bigjo will say unlike Soludo who is seen as an elitist and Obi who comes across as lame-duck and not having a clue. However,Ngige is going to face very strong oppositions from both Soludo and Obi for the following reasons:
1.Obi is incumbent and as a result has state machineries at his disposal and as U ve rightly pointed he is using it to his advantage, who says propagander is no big deal, ask the US.
2.Soludo too has a very good precedence as a performer with very practicable lofty ideas most of which ve yielded very good results. He may be seen as elitist but we can't honestly say he's not porpular even at the grassroot. Then again we have to talk abt his platform, the PDP,knowing thier modus operandi and their antecedent past at electioneering, any opposition will shiver.Anyway, let the best man with the best wits win am at ease with the three of em but my fav is, u don't want to know!Lol
That is a good way of looking at it,

But lets look at the following incident,

1, If Soludo had Joined AC instead of PDP, do you think AC would have chosen him as their flag bearer over Ngige ? If you think so, why ?

2, If Soludo had joined APGA instead of PDP, do you think APGA would have chosen him as their flag bearer over Obi ? If you think so, why ?

If you answer NO to the questions above ,equally give your reasons for answering no,

3, Finally, do you think the up coming guba election is going to be completely free and fair ?

Is only when you come up with the correct answers to those three questions that you can be able to know the two persons that the contest will settle on and the eventual winer between the two.

Lets discuss.

It was Ngige's revolution that gave birth to quest for good governance in our state today,

you should not bother much trying to explain to people how politics works, people generally prefere to live in their prejudice, help it along by leaving them alone,

Good a thing, he is not from our state and does not reside there, so he is not qualified to vote, he can only voice out here on NL, that is where he will cast his useless unofficial vote.

Its only a person that was not aware of what happened in Anambra  between 2003 - 2006 that will make that assertion.

Yes you are not alone there, most of us hate PDP but believe it or not the person in power can make a difference.

Between the period I mentioned above, NGIGE was in power infact he was rigged into power in a most shameful and callous way by the vicious Uba brothers but it didnt change what THE MAN IN POWER really wants to do. These  period remained the best times ever for any Anambrarian. We saw development and visional government like never before. All these he was doing against his masters wishes.

So please, dont tell me that if it is PDP then nothing will happen. It all depends on WHO is there and not which PARTY is there.

Ok, tell me now, the man Anambra people voted is now in power, WHAT has he been able to achieve if not building a monumental and most effective political propaganda ever seen  east of the niger. grin
Nwa nne ke ife ina enye onwegi nsogbu, you can see the guy is unhealthy in his reasoning, just tell me who is that anambra PDP chieftain that can push soludo around ?

soludo can comfortable sanitise this country as a whole, the truth is that anambra is the head of Igbo, and any thing that happens there will spread to other eastern states, by the time soludo starts real global standard dynamic leadership, other eastern governors will emulate him and east generally will move forward, that is what is making other tribes uncomfortable, they Know that the east is about to experience light, as i said before, my own blood uncle is contesting in PDP against Soludo, but i will personaly vote Soludo twice before i even remember him,

as i type now, i just wish he is been sworn in today as our governor.

yes its soludo's right just  like you have the right to be a fool!!! Its only a fool that will exercise all rights without thinking.

The earlier we know the sytemic cancer in a system the better for us in this country. What's your defination of a good governorhuh

As long as its PDP,Soludo will be business as usual, its share the money so whats good about that. Do u think fashola will be able to deliver as much as Hes doing if he was in PDP?? never!!!!call a spade a spade PDP is all about settlement and corruption just like other parties but in a Hellish bigger manner!!!

See, it doesnt take anything for you to be a good governor in the nigerian context i bet it with you that my ten year old niece will be as'effective' as any governor in nigeria today.

Does it take rocket science  to sit down in government house and wait evey 20 working days to share any incoming revenue from the Oil money.

The truth is that we are used to evil leadership that when a bad governor comes we all just get hyped.lets be sincere what skills do u need to be a governor in Nigeria? A shoe maker is more industrious than any governor in nigeria save-fashola. A shoe maker adds value and get economic reward for his skills. Governors just sit there like dummies wait every 20 working days for the federal allocation to devour.Even if we can have 36 dummy governors that transparently share these money  without creating any value then we wil be better off.
so Donald Duke was in ANPP ? or was it not the same PDP he was when he did all the great Jobs in Cross River State?

For your information, and without being immodest in the least, you don't even qualify to lace my shoes, I could send an email to you so that you discover my personality and pedigree , Stupid asshole, your response to my post clearly gave you away as a nonentity basking in the euphoria of filthy lucre in your corner of Maitama, Abuja, dining with your devilish political godfathers,

Must you stoop to your God-forsaken level to type so much inconsequential drivel without making any sense or tackling the issues I raised in my posthuh The fact that some people visit this site to contribute to national development does not give lilliputians like you freedom to throw trash around!!!

Why Pdp? The PDP has been the bane of our democracy since its inception in 1999. I wont vote for him If was an anambrarian.
the truth is that he needs to go through them in other to win, or else the same bad PDP will work against him and he will not win, but that is not to say that they will control him when he gets there, just tell me, which Anambra PDP member can control soludo, do you even know the award wining former CBN governor we are talking about ?

If it was soludo that was swron in as Nigerian president in may 29 , 2007,by now this country would have been singing a new song ?

Let me ask you, Soludo and Yaradua , which will you vote as your president.

DTaj:
I have read certain comments based on purely ethnic, sentimental lines, How could a former CBN Governor, who just left office less than 6 months ago venture into the murky waters of politics?

I shuddered when I watched on Channels TV as Anenih, yes the same Tony Anenih, Mr. Fix It of election rigging in Nigeria said exactly this about Soludo during the 'Commitee of Friends' party organised by PDP crooks such as Dahiru Mangal, Ibrahim Mantu, Ogbulafor and co. at the Hilton, Abuja: "MY NAME IS ANENIH AND I'M FROM EDO STATE, BUT BECAUSE OF CHARLES, I HAVE CHANGED MY NAME TO ANENE AND I'M NOW FROM ANAMBRA STATE BECAUSE OF THE UPCOMING ELECTION" and everyone clapped their filthy hands, Anenih also said that "'PDP IS A DEMOCRATIC PARTY, WE DO NOT IMPOSE CANDIDATES AS BEING SPECULATED IN THE MEDIA, BUT IF CHARLES BECAME OUR CANDIDATE BY CONSENSUS, SO BE IT" and the clowns in the crowd (audience) started clapping again! They all clinked glasses afterwards,

Now, could it be that Prof. Soludo, an erudite scholar I admire and like so well, looked the other way when PDP hawks such as Ibori, Dangote, Otedola, Jimoh Ibrahim and co killed Nigerian banks thorugh their huge executive-induced loans, just because he was waiting to be the Anambra candidate at the expiration of his tenure, Or if not Anambra candidate, a Senator in 2011, as is being toutedhuh Did he continue to mouth the nonsense that even if there was global meltdown, our banks would bail out Nigeria owing to their so-called capital adequacy levels, rather than the Federal Government bailing out the banks!!!! Haven't we seen what organ is bailing out the other now? Where are our so-called 'unshakable banks'huh

Let 'Nairalanders' go watch the video of the Soludo PDP Committee of Friends party held in Abuja and you'd weep for Nigeria!!! Someone who left office less than 6 months ago as the Chief Regulator of our banks and whose tenure is still under scrutiny,

Prof. Soludo's indiscretion is unfortunate and this PDP perfidy would kill anything that remain of his integrity!!!
See how you wasted time and energy typing shits***, do you even know how politics works ?, do you think that what sanusi is doing now is exactly what you read on  pages of news papers, do you know the hidden agenda behind it ?
so in your little mind , you think that if soludo could consolidate our banking sector , which broght the number of healthy banks in nigeria down to 25 which also forced many banks to close or form mergers with other banks, that he couldn't have easily fished out thiose five supposed faulty banks and fix them ?

do you know the power behind sanusi ? do you know with such powers he could easily win a gonernorship election of his state ? haven't it occured to you that soludo is by far bigger than ordinary state gonernor ? we should  be talking about some thing like the presidency or united nations that is where his class belong to,

Soludo decided to contest in other to show my state a new light of life, as i discuss with you, my own blood uncle is in the race, but personaly, i will vote soludo twise before remembering him.

After soludo tenure, we've bin reading, hearing of all the nonsense he did in the banking sector, and dont give me the consolidation shit, cos i wont take it.

And Dora? everybody knows who she is,i dont wanna remind u of the shit that happened in NTA.

@your last sentence, I tot its an open forum where u cud air your views, but if its hurt u so badly, get it censored wink wink marijuana? am following your foot steps huh huh
The problem is that i can sense you are an illiterate, so i will not waste  valuable time with you, go and learn economics, or baniking, then do a research on nigerian economy before soludo, how soludos economic policies saved nigerian from irriperable economic disaster,  and the long time gains of the consolidation,  it is when you score atleast C5 in those courses that you will be qualified to discuss anything about economy with me, as for the marijuana stuff, you are not following my footh steps, you are following the footh steps of your uncle fella, and you will defintely end up the way he ended up.

chivo:
anambra people should indeed support soludo solution because he has been tested.every state will become highlly developed if somebody like soludo is to become their governors, the fact is that, the young man is an intellectual,a guru ,academic scholar,an outstanding encyclopedia whom is offensively needed in all sectors to effectively foster economic and political development in nigeria and africa at larger.
If i say God bless you, it is an understatment. If the five eastern governors are like soludo, we wil start from the sky.

Maka why??
Nnaa iyara ahota,

you know, atimes i used to pity my people Igbos generally, our so called governors are five confused wise men from the east, after seeing the way yorubas and hausas hate us and wish us ill, instead of them to go into what i call aggresive development, they are just their in their normal selfishness and elephant projects,

those governors hardly understand that Igbos are on their own, with the little allocations giving to us monthly, the only upper hand we have over every other ethnic group in nigeria, is our great natural talents and creativity which these dumb governors should sacrificialy and sincerely develop in a great lenght by investing wisely and aboundantly in human capital development, all these fools normaly do is to buy motocycles and give to my people to be driving okada instead of picking all those great brains and send them abroad on scholarship to go and learn western technology,

cant you see the number of stars orji uzo produced by investing greatly in enyi mba, sam egwu did similar thing in ebonyi state by giving free education to the state, making ebonyi state ,the once education backward state to be the most eduction driving state in the whole nigeria, bet it, in 20 years time, ebonyi state will be one of the most educated states in nigeria, ( that is what i call Dr awolowo's vision and develpmental strategy)

In summary, all i am trying to say is that ( Onye oku na agba n'ulo ya , anaghi achu oke)

His father ruled Nigeria from 1993 until he died in 1999. He is thought to have embezzled billions of dollars.

Mr Abiola died in prison in 1999 just a month after Gen Abacha.

Was abacha nigerian president in 1999 or was already in the grave as of then. how come he ruled Nigeria till 1999 before handing over ?
Was it In 1999 that Abacha died ?

PoliticsRe: Nigerians In London Witness The Ibori Trial by banom(m): 3:50pm On Sep 22, 2009
mbulela:
The Court 8 of the Southwark County court, South East London, was almost filled to capacity. At the venue of the Ibori trial, one could see the expectations on the face of Nigerians.

Majority of the Nigerians present said they turned up to witness the case as advised by the Nigeria Liberty Forum, a pro-democracy group based in the UK.

Kennedy Ugwuamma said; “I am here to quietly but peacefully show my disgust against Ibori’s accomplices.”

His Honour, Judge Hardy came in at about 10.06 am and immediately set out to business.

The names of the accused were called and three ladies, later identified as Ibori-Ibie Christine .O, Pogoson Adebimpe F and Onuigbo Udoamaka were ushered into the dock. In particular, Ms. Onuigbo appeared to have lost a lot of weight, unlike her previous appearances. The trio had a subdued look.

There was silence at the public gallery in which the Nigerian spectators sat, except for the murmur of “Awon Ole,” which is Yoruba for ‘these thieves!’ from a middle aged Nigerian lady. The trio were admitted on bail by the court, with counsel to Ibori-Ibie putting forward arguments for restrictions on media reporting of the case.

A lot of the time was spent on requesting a sanction on the reportage of the proceedings. The argument did not go down well with those of us in the public gallery. After a long argument and counter argument, the Judge gave a ruling barring media publications “to prevent prejudice/contempt of court.”

Intimidating presence

The drama of the whole event was when a lady, who claimed to be a family of the Iboris, came to the public gallery and rained curses on imaginary enemies, wondering loudly: “what is the business of you people (Nigerians) in London to come to court? Na only Ibori steal money?” Defence lawyer for Ms Ibori-Ibie, Andrew Trollope complained about the “intimidating presence” of Nigerians in the court and vowed to move for restrictions on attendance. The case is expected to go on for days but, from all indications, the accused were jolted with the presence of Nigerians and could barely look up to where members of the public sat.
