Pls I need uRgent help am a student midwive hoping to graduate next year march by God'S grace nd I intend to start my degree immediately not in nigeria because of d number years for degree.any help outside d country whEre I can work nd skool will be appreciated
you should consider uk or australia. Their bsc degree is 1 year long and you are entitled to work for 20 hours per week during school session and 40 hrs when you are on hols. Its also easier to get into their University when compared to usa or canada.

I agree that some nurses are not nice to patients especially those in government sector. There is no profession that doesnt have some bad eggs, but what do you expect? It takes great patience and the grace of God to care for a sick person who doesnt even appreciate what you are doing. Nurses go through emotional trauma and physical abuse every single day starting from the doctor who wants to blame you for every mistake, the patient and their relatives and even your own matron.. Only the brave can nurse. We take care of the sick even when we are sick, im not trying to say all nurses are saints.. No we are not, we are humans too and i am looking forward to the day when Nigerian nurses in particular will get the respect they deserve.

Update on my case:

Spoke to CGFNS.

The Nigerian midwifery certification has no value to the American Health system

The only thing that has value is the license to practice as a registered nurse in Nigeria.

In their words, that is all that they need.

Thank God.

Am now trying to process the money order for the credentials evaluation because all attempts to pay CGFNS with my Zenith Bank card failed.

So my worries were not worth the trouble in the end.

Thanks dear friends!
congrats, now you can move to the next level. Which State are you applying to?

Do you guys know anyone who passed through the school of Nursing /school of Midwifery route and has done cgfns Credentials evaluation? I was told that our qualifications dont even meet up to an american diploma degree in nursing. Just want to confirm the information.

Just a friendly piece of advice, nurses and midwives abroad care about the patients are passionate about their work and their patients and are friendly and courteous. I've heard that nurses and midwives in Nigeria (not all) tend to be quite rude and harsh to patients.

Hopefully must of you here are not like that.
well im not.

Greetings all! Lovely thread. Barbiee n d gurus in the house, kindly help with d detailed procedure for Canada. I have a sis whose an RN with 3 year nursing program n a few yrs of experience.
Thanks
to work as a nurse in canada you must first submit your transcripts for Credentials Evaluation by NNAS

How to Apply

Apply to the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS)

1. Set up an online account with National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) at www.nnas.ca.
2. Complete the online application.
3.Pay the required fee.
4.Follow the instructions about which documents to submit for verification.
5.Once your file is complete, NNAS will evaluate it and provide you with online access to an Advisory Report, which contains the results of the evaluation. NNAS will also send a copy of this report to the relevant regulatory body.
You can now apply directly to the regulatory body of your choice and pay their application fee (the province you want to work) . You will be able to do this from your NNAS online account.
The Board of Nursing in that province will evaluate the report from nnas and decide if you meet the requirements set by the Board. You are also required to take an english Proficiency Test. You also have to pay the application fee. The Board may decide that your education is ok. If that is the case then you are allowed to register for the CRNE exam. If your education does not meet the requirements you will be asked to take a bridging course after that you can now register for the CRNE exam.

My question is will they insist on both transcripts or can they go-ahead with the nursing transcript only? Will they hold on processing my papers indefinitely because of this issue?

Someone suggested that I cancel the order that mentions the problematic school and create a new order with just the details from the nursing school, so I am confused, and that is basically why i came here - to use one of several lifelines smiley

You provided a valid suggestion, ask them, but i wanted to know if someone has passed through a similar and what they had to pass through so that I would be properly guided
i think you should let cgfns know of the condition of your school of Midwifery. They will tell you the best route to take. Do you have your course outline with detailed description? If yes, ask if you can provide that as alternative to your transcripts. If no? Ask if you can use your licence and notification letter from Nursing council.

i did not subscribe to any.
Just go to youtube
type ielts listening practice in the search button (you can also do same with speaking so you see a couple of speaking samples).....loads of test samples will pop up
Play and practice with them
Most of them have answers at the end of each listening, so you can mark and score yourself
ok thanks

It wasnt my first attempt my sister although i consistently passed the other parts except reading. I only learnt something new which i presumed made a difference.
. When you are doing the reading, read the questions first before reading the passage. That way, you know what to look out for in the passage

.the answers come in a sequential order. If the answer to no 1 is in paragraph A, the answer to no 2 would most likely be in paragraph B. So, dont go back and forth looking for answers

Thirdly, i know loads of tips say dont read the passage, rather scan or skim to find the answers. However, i am of the opinion that you should do a very quick read because the questions are really paraphrased, so you might miss the paragraph with the answer or never find it all because its been so paraphrased so you need to get the idea being communicated in the paasage to be able to answer correctly.

In listening, just do lots of practice. There are uncountable practice tests with answers on youtube. You would so get used to it that you will literally answer the listening part without listening. Had 8.5 2x in listening.

When it comes to writing, spend time and learn how to do an academic writing. The use of linking words and how to put your opinion down.

As per speaking, just keep talking. Dont worry if the examiner interrupts you. They just wanna know that you can hold a conversation in English, besides, they are timing you. So, once the timr limit for a particular question elapses, they will interrupt and ask another question. Try not to speak too fast. Try not to give responses that seem crammed. Take time to think before talking. Use expressions like hmm, erm but not excessively. Try and stay relaxed. The examiner is a human being. I find myself laughing and chatting with them. I had 8 once and 7.5.

Over all, practice, practice, practice. I learnt to get comfortable with the time especially the reading. I practiced till i could finish each reading passage and answer the questions in about 17 minutes, so i finish the reading part in about 50minutes and have about 10minutes to quickly go over it.
Thanks. Whose youtube account did you suscribe to?

Write and pass academic ielts with an over all band of 7 with a minimum of 7 in each part. Once you cross this hurdle, the other steps are a bit easier.
Hi there, we met on the ielts forum. I requested for study materials.. Pls share with us some tips on aceing the exam. Your scores were really impressive for first attempt. Thanks

You will be invited to travel to uk for it cause University of Northamton is the only University allowed to conduct the exam. You will be asked to carry out practical demonstrations and answer questions as you go round the stations. The exam cost £992
