Wonderful and successful pple of nairaland, pls let's not give room for dulling moment of this thread oo, let's keep it on
and as for me, I'm still a student nurse so I have quite a long way to go. (JUST EXPLORING )
I met myself here when the feelings of my future in this profession overwhelmed my heart, the prospect of the profession for me as a person and the prospect of the profession for my country Nigeria..

I'm just happy I stumbled on this highly informative topic
It gave me hope and life for this profession.
It has increased my ego. It made me understand that I'm in a very interesting profession just in a wrong country.

I want to use this opportunity to thank the op @barbie and everybody who has contributed in one way or the Other wellendowed etc. God bless you all.

right about now, I can't wait to finish my studies (that's gonna that I long time thou) but I have no fear knowing fully well that western world gat my back.

once again thank you to everyone, @mamajaz, I'm not forgetting you MA, and I hope pple will be ever ready to assist me too if I need any help.

Good day every one present in this group.i have taken time to go through from day one till the last page I must say am very much impress..kudos to all involved in making it work.to Mr austchris am loyal sir.u were my lecturer.thanx a lot for all the info I will inbox u on Facebook.

Please my case is a bit complicated and I want advice please.i have always had this dream of leaving this country as soon as possible cus nursing here is nothing to write home about ,but here are my hindrances
1.i had a yr clinical experience but that's during my Nysc, though a govt hospital but we really don't have up to 100 beds oooo about 6o_70.please does it count in my year of experience?

2 I am currently working with a big diagnostic centre as anurse though there is no much of clinical nursing in it for more than 1.5yrs now.please will this count for me?

3 another huddle i have is i havent even being to the state before and i dont have any one over there for now.please what's my chance in all these

Cus currently am thinking of dropping my current job for the experience they seek as i must leave thos country.i am happy for those who have scaled through and those still on the way

Please someone should talk to me.@berbie @austchris@wellendowed @mamajaz@tunji@ajaosandra@ everybody that has the info please help a brother
please dont make the mistake of resigning from your current job.
1. unless you are going through an agency like avant, forget about the 100 beds hospital requirement. if you are doing the cgfns evaluation on your own and preparing for nclex on your own then you dont have to worry about the number of beds in your hospital.
2.[s] you dont have to say you are working in a diagnostic center if the need arises for you to mention your workplace. just use the name of any private hospital you are familiar with those that matters like the matron or md and let your experience start counting from when you received your first license. that way if you have to present any document with your hospital letterhead you know who to meet for it.[/s]
3. being to the states or having someone there or not doesnt count and it wont affect you in any way. what counts is your transcripts, licence and ability to prepare for and pass Nclex.

Thank you for the response. Can advanced certificate In practical nursing be said to be the same as diploma in nursing? cos that is what I see most community colleges offer. Also, please can you mention few schools that tuition is around $5k or slightly higher for the "diploma" in nursing. Thank you
practical nursing is different from Nursing. Licensed practical nurses are like nursing assistants , Schooling in the US is very expensive especially if you don’t have a relative there that can support you with accommodation. 5k may get you through the first year of an associate degree nursing program but it won't cover much. You can Google San jacinto community college and brazosport college for tuition estimate.

Please I need to begin my career in nursing in the US. I presently hold a bachelor degree in physics, so I would like to know a path to follow to achieve this dream, a diploma course or certificate course I could start with tuition of $5k. I don't want to go the BSN bridge path because it looks expensive.
You can decide to go for a diploma in nursing in a community college. Tuition is low, it's your living expenses for the two years that would be a problem.

This thread has been a blessing!!!!! Shout-out to Auschris, p406, Endowed, Iyiman, gratefulme and a whole lot more... who has relentlessly been a source of firsthand information to us on here aspiring to practice outside the shores of this country.... thanks for the Consistency, prompt reply to questions, tireless approach to compiling details of how you made it, yal are a source of great inspiration, we all tap into your blessings, and thanks to barbiee, for creating this thread in the first place, this is a great achievement lol, Ya like a Legend now cheesy Nurses should learn to stand together like this all the time, we tend to achieve more. People ask me about info on how to kick start a career as a Nurse outside Naija n all I do is send them the link to the thread, cos it's just all you need. For the new comers try to go through each message from the very beginning and digest it, there is so much for you to learn, so atleast we can stop asking questions repetitively, I mean questions in which answers to 'em have been provided.

Once again God bless all who has been a blessing to this forum, let's try to keep this going for years and years to come, for future nurses who are still going through Junior Waec, even Common Entrance cheesy
Let's refer people of resource that can contribute positively to the forum and that are willing to learn too and do this together. Jah Bless Us All.

PS congrats Iyiman once again, way up bro!!!!
Aww.. Thanks dearie

I agree with @Auschris, cgfns doesn't have to take one year to complete the CES order. It depends on when they receive your documents. If you are very sure of acing Nclex on your own without the help of any recruiting agency then by all means go for it. I heard NNAS takes a longer period to complete the evaluation unlike cgfns. You just have to be patient. If you are in a hurry to leave Naija then try Dubai. In less than 3 months you will be out of Nigeria.

@Adebayor thank you for your post however you won't get clients here cause my people are knowledgeable about the whole process already and the best part is that they know they don't need any agent to help them with anything. This is a DIY thread which is yielding outstanding results already so although i really appreciate your efforts, it's kind of wasted here. Thanks.

OGP is a seasoned agency. I had a glimpse of their contract recently. I prefer the avant package because the contract is in hours.
what do you mean by "seasoned" and is it true that OGP requires English?

The advice you will get will depend on your qualifications. However, you must be willing to start small and move up. I'm fortunate that my wife is also a nurse. She had to prepare and take the NCLEX-RN exam on her own

I admire your humility. How far have you gone with your own process? Which agency are you with?
None for now, I registered with cgfns but there was a little problem so i stopped, I am going to register again after my current application expires. I may register with NNAS too.

Sorry for mentioning you out of the blue but I need some advice.

Would it be advisable to study intensive care nursing or anesthesia nursing for post basic courses?

Which one will be the better option out out the two?

Thanks.
I prefer anaesthetic nursing

Hello house,
I just stumbled on this thread. It's nice to know that such a thread exists. I'd look in from time to time to see what I can contribute.
I practice in the US and came in via the sponsorship of Avant Healthcare Professionals.
Hi, are you Augustine christopher from the avant promotional video?

To work as a nurse in Germany you need to have a good knowledge about the German language, you should know how to speak, read and write in German cause charting will be done in the language, after crossing that hurdle then you have to find a hospital that will accept you for a one year internship or volunteer service. This service is unpaid, after that you have to write and pass a written and oral exam then get eligibility to practice, with that you can get a real job but take note that the pay is poor and your scope of practice is limited.

I agree with ogolikpo1, if you really want to practice in Australia then you should try to stick to your decision and things will work out eventually, what exactly is giving you problem?

@waterfas what i meant was ielts is not a requirement for Nigerians because we were taught in English unlike other boards who made it compulsory for all international applicants weather they were taught in English or not.

@ogwashiukwu, yes ielts is needed for the visascreen process but it's not a requirement for cgfns. It can be tackled later at any stage during or after CES.
