Dear friends, does anyone here know how I can change the number of batteries in this Tristar MPPT CC?
I entered the number 8 myself a couple of months back but I can't seem to figure how I did it back then.

NB. The float voltage setting is for a 36V battery system.

Dunno if this will help...Dip switch settings?? See attachment.

30A cc using 960W panels on a 24V system?
Looks like u are overloading ur CC.
Your CC cannot handle an array greater than 720W (30A x 24V)
Hooking up a 960W array can drive the current up to 40A, but ur CC will limit it at 30A.
If ur peak current was 24A, I can safely deduce that ur 960W array has never produced peak power up to 600W.

Check ur installation... ur panels are directly on the roof. excess heat?

That works for a PWM cc. For an MPPT cc, the panels can be stacked in series as long as total Voc does not exceed 80Vdc.
Whats the Voc on each of ur panels? Usually, 24V panels have a Voc in the 36Vish region...
If that's the case, u can't connect more than 2 in series

My own contribution to this post is that yes, the Bible says sex should be avoided for a short time between married couples only, and never between married people and a church. Therefore, a couple is free to undergo at most 3 days dry fasting if that is what they agreed on without any form of sexual relationship in the process. There is no problem here at all.
However, embarking on a church organized fasting and prayers for either 10, 20, 40, 70 or 100 days, does NOT apply in this regard. This is because you are NOT married to the church but to your husband. And moreover, the church's fasting and prayer period is broken daily which after then you are free to have sex with your wife and husband. Hope this short piece help.

To which are you referring, the CC? I can send you an e-mail address. There'd be a mark-up if you go via ebay/amazon anyway. It would better to go direct. That's how I got mine cheaper compared to some of the shocking ebay/amazon prices.

@kiekie1, the CC is made by epsolar (http://www.epsolarpv.com/en/) and it is MPPT. My Panels are poly but the set to complete the system design will be mono (300 watts, SunEdisons). The mix will allow me to experiment with the mono vs poly debate especially when applied to a climate like ours rather than North America / Europe, etc. I'll post the findings.

Another company you may be interested in is mppsolar (http://www.mppsolar.com/v3/). My inverter is from them and they've been very helpful with technical advice on how to rectify what the plonker that I entrusted with its care, did to it.

Your battery bank is not correctly sized for your daily energy needs. I had the same issues too.
You need to provide a list of the wattage from the loads you’re going to run and the approximate average run time per day.

Once you provide the info above, I can then calculate the proper battery bank sizing/solar panels to get u completely off grid.

it means 16 pieces of 10 mm rings in each column. then the second 10 means bar mark number it is used in identifying the bar in bar bending schedule. 200 C/C means 200 spacing btw each ring.

@ Shithapuns, I'll assume you use 400w over a 12 hour period daily.
Therefore, ur daily energy usage is 400*12=4800wh.
Next, you multiply the result by the number of backup days you want.

Let's assume you want 5 days of autonomy, that'll be 5*4800=24kwh.
You want a battery bank that can store twice this energy, if you plan for 50% DOD. Your system is 24v.
24*2/24=2000Ah battery bank.

So, a 2000Ah battery bank will give you 5 days backup.

How do you charge such a huge bank?

1. External charger
2. Solar
3. Wind

A 100A charger will replenish your 5-day consumption in 10hrs.
You have up to 10hrs utility power, and there are 24v inverters with up to 100A charging current.
