Distance ain’t a barrier!

You size your batteries for 16hrs of night time consumption (5pm to 9am). Solar should take care of 8hrs day time consumption.

If your nighttime consumption is 20 units(20kWh), an 800Ah 48v DC lead acid battery bank will suffice.

If your daytime consumption is also 20kWh, size your solar array for 40kWh.

Batteries have recommended charge rates. Select a setup where you can manipulate the max charge/discharge rate else you'll boil your batteries.

You can combine both and get a PLC or node-red or discrete controls to drive all your contactors. You can even incorporate current sensors to allow grid supply or disconnect the loads if consumption exceeds a certain threshold.

Hmmm, won't this solution still allow the inverter to be charging when there is utility during that period of the day? It think it does.

Alternatively, install a 2NO contactor on the output of the inverter if your loads are not normally on inverter e.g Aircon, fridges etc
Hook up a suitably rated ATS downstream of the contactor.

Inverter > 2NO Contactor > ATS < Grid

Connect your loads to the ATS.
The contactor will allow or deny inverter supply thru the ATS to your loads based on time of day and battery SOC, else they remain on the grid.

I assume all your loads are on the inverter output.
I also assume your inverter switches to "pass thru" mode when connected to the grid.

Install a suitably rated 2NC contactor on the Grid supply to the inverter.
Install a timer switch and a victron bmv700 battery monitor in series with the coil of the contactor above.
Set timer "on" time to 10am and "off" time to 4.30pm.
Set bmv700 SOC "on" to 100%(battery full) and "off" to 80%(or any level between 50% and 100% that suits your fancy)

Grid > 2NC Contactor > Inverter > Loads

Both conditions above must be met for the contactor to energize and disconnect the grid supply to your inverter.
If before 4.30pm the battery level drops below 80%, the contactor will de-energize and restore grid supply(if available) to your inverter.

A 2NC contactor is used to eliminate vampire current draw by the contactor at night when there's no solar.

I am trying to come up with an automation design, perhaps you can advice or suggest.

The workflow will be something like this.

From 10am, whether or not there is Utility, switch loads to inverter, as long as the battery is full. (I am hoping the battery state can be gotten from the charge controller because it has a comms port, CC type is Epever)
otherwise stay on utility and check again every hour
At 4:30 pm, change over to Utility.

Anyone with a way to achieve this? I think these R3 are located to specific loads, right?

I saw a write-up in this thread where someone was trying to explain why series connection is the best and another person was also saying parallel is the best.
He said in parallel connection, we should not forget that the more energy you take, the faster the battery discharges.
In other words, rate of discharge is slow in series connection than parallel connection.

A typical 330w Canadian mono solar panel is about 2sqm.
Your roof of 119.6sqm will take 59pcs.

The problem with the second option is that you waste productive time monitoring your system like a hawk instead of drinking beer.

That same switch/plug if flashed with Tasmota firmware will open up a lot more possibilities. If you don't believe me, ask Ojeysky.

u can easily source from credible alibaba sellers. 48pcs of eve 280ah cells will give you 44kwh or 48pcs of eve 230ah will give 35kwh @ 99$ and 69$ respectively. exchange rate @470/$

The South array is elevated with support and less than 10 degrees, while the West array is flat on my steep roof-I'd say 15 to 20 degrees.

Installation inclination is a very vital determinant of efficiency in solar arrays. What is the pitch of the West and South facing roof?

For installations in Nigeria, the optimal inclination is 5 - 14 degrees (from horizontal facing south) depending on location.

Shading is another factor you have to look into. Is the South facing array shaded at any time?

... Let the pitch or slope make sense and not look like something that will kill the installer . A slope of between 6⁰ -30⁰ will be perfect. I'm always scared when I have to do installation for clients with the send down the rain roofing .

Having a separate DB for inverter loads is also part of what you'd advise.

Now that I think about it, a kitchen should have its own Sub-DB to carry Induction cookers, dishwashers, ovens/microwave ovens etc etc...

My wife has been cooking with our 3kw double burner infrared cooktop daily for about a year now. And she does that mostly on our inverter/ 4 tubular batteries. Going inverter route has saved me money. I only buy gas Incase of emergency cooking/oven grilling
