I use mine with a 2kw hotplate and 2kw electric kettle simultaneously every morning 5 days a week for almost a year now.
This is with other loads of fridge, booster pump and other base loads.

In bright sunlight, the useless device was "sleeping"! I forced bulk, it worked for a few minutes and promptly went back to sleep.

There was nothing i didn't try. Spent countless man-hours poring through several "solutions" that never worked.
In exasperation, i took out my trusted hammer and promptly put it out of it's misery

The Fangpusun, Chinese clone, seems a more reliable device. I have 2 gathering dust in my workshop...I may consider putting them up for sale.

I believe this is already done at the transformer and the service entry point of most homes.

It's this very matter that worries me. When the inverter switches to battery mode, this N-E bonding at the service entry is lost.
If there's any fault in the house, one becomes a very healthy conductor of fault currents to earth! I also understand earth leakage
breakers will not trip in this scenario.

The general advice is to create a second N-E bond at the inverter that is active only when it's in battery mode. Anyway, our electrical gurus
in the house what's the code for hooking up alternative energy source (inverter/generators) at home?

Yes, everything is all nice and good in "pass through" mode until the inverter switches to battery mode.

I understand the neutrals are bonded in "pass through" mode, but broken in battery mode. Thus leading to floating neutral issues.

In my installation, I simply looped both neutrals. I'm no electrician, but I've been told this "solution" is not very safe.

I sold my premium Magnum inverter and bought a Gennex hybrid.
It has settings that allow intentional islanding and grid passthru with the charger off.

I have forgotten, but i think the magnum allows you to set the charge current to zero.

The batteries wont be damaged if the rate of discharge is exceeded, only its effective capacity will be reduced (Peukert's law)

Once it's midnight, grid is dropped and I run off batteries till 6pm and the cycle repeats.

I never charge with grid though.

It doesn't make any difference, as the cc will simply clip the current.
Operating the cc at max current is another matter entirely as opinions vary.

Some say it'll shorten its life, others swear it's built into the design for it to function continuously at max.

I agree with you I'd put max 20 330w panels(4S5P) on the cc.

Personally I will not be comfortable with 24 panels on one PT100 CC. At this point, you might have to start thinking of another CC.
