So it's actually 120Ah? shocked
This one pass highway robbery if true.

Edit: I was already salivating at the prospect of stacking 5 of them to get 1000Ah 48V dc lithium bank!

ojeysky:

If the felicity actual capacity is 150AH/48V and not 120AH and if the cells are new then I think it's a good deal at that price.

@NiyiOmoIyunade grin
This was taken yesterday morning.
It's quite interesting what one can do with emoncms and the plethora of data from my Victron inverter.

I'm going to add night and daytime energy consumption to decide which heavy loads i reaaaallly need to transfer to the Critical Loads DB
Night time = 5pm to 7am (currently averages 15kWh with one aircon on)
Daytime = 7am to 5pm (averages 15kWh as the Heavy Loads DB is currently off due to ongoing renovation works)

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Barezzi(m): 12:21am On Aug 14, 2020
APPLIANCES:
Approx. 500w (8 hours) Day time loads = 4kwh
1. 1kva 12Vdc Inverter
2. 4# 300w solar panels
3. 60A CC (Capable of charging Lead Acid or Lithium)
4a. 2# 200Ah 12V dc nominal Lead Acid bank or
4b. 2# 100Ah 12V dc nominal Lithium bank
5. Isolation and protection accessories

Energy Storage @ 12V dc nominal: (8hr DayTime Use)
400Ah @C10 - Lead Acid: 4kwh (50% - Useable = 2kwh) or
200Ah @C2 - Lithium: 2.5kwh (80% - Useable = 2kwh)

Pv Array:
4kwh generated in 4 hours of sunshine = 1000w (4# 300w panels)

Source Priority:
1. Solar
2. Battery
3. Grid
4. Gen

You can comfortably get away with 1# 100Ah 12V dc Lithium battery and 2# 300w PV if the array performs at 4kwh/kw efficiency.

limpopo:

okay, the breakdown.. I don remove some gadgets shaa

43inch TV - 80watts
sound bar --- 70watts
led bulbs (5watts) -- 8pcs -- 40 watts
decoder -- 30watts
phone chargers-- let's say 10watts(10* 5phones)--- 50watts
fans--- (4pcs *40watts)--- let's say 200watts

All the above calculation Na 470watts

So, 470watts for 8hours

Very nice!
Unless i missed it, can you elaborate on the bolded? I suspect you'd have been better served with a 3 phase 5kva build tongue.

A typical Quattro's second output is limited to 50A ac, around 10kw.
This means your heavy loads are at 10kw or lower. If higher, do you use assistants to start a Gen to Power Assist? I'm assuming your loads are split into Essential and Auxiliary loads.

It's like inverter appliances will be my next target of investment, aswear. But it's only ACs, freezer, fridges, washing machines and microwave oven that covers that terrain of inverter tech.

The 203L Haier never even reach one year and I'm already itching for this. that was how I retired a new not too efficient 42 inch LED for an A++ efficient 65 inch after 6 months. Because I couldn't get to sell the former quickly, I was forced to give it out against my wish.

I'm worried this extreme urge of acquisition is not bordering on some abnormality.

It means that the total Solar ENERGY generated that day was 53.56kwh to feed house loads and charge the batteries.
That same historic day, his panels went berserk and pumped 12kw of power to 4 charge controllers for a few seconds
causing them to angrily spit over 220Amps unto the hungry DC bus for the inverters and batteries to snag up!

Everyday the house makes unreasonable(reasonable?) load demands. The inverter doesn't care, it simply takes it from the DC BUS.
The batteries and charge controllers are unfortunately on the DC BUS. So, one or both of them must feed it. It's a rat race! tongue

Penuelseun,
Two independent Relays switching power to a load is very dangerous!
The likelihood of both latching the same time is very high.
Relays fail all the time, i work where this happens regularly...

To mitigate, consider using mechanically interlocked contactors. It's physically impossible for both to energise at the same time.

As others have mentioned, I look out for energy savings option AND Plex capable.

Good talk about energy isolation.
Always ensure ZERO energy before working on an energized system. Double check or get a second verifier tongue

Madam all the suggestions are great as long as you have house loads sharing the 60A from the suggested CC.
That kinda current on a 200Ah C10 battery bank alone may "overfeed" it.
An "overfed" battery condition develops when it receives current far in excess of OEM recommendations.

Yes. You don't need an external anti-islanding device to enable the ESS assistant.
You need a GX device though.

I have mine set as above, but with the LOM AC input 1 and 2 reversed cos my Gen is on AC input 2 and Grid on 1.

Follow this link victronenergy.com/live/ess:design-installation-manual to learn all you need to know about Victron ESS implementation.

We are looking for a Solar Technician that can test and advice on an existing solar system installation in Ibadan. This needs to happen fairly quickly. Please send interest with qualifications via WhatsApp to 0808 214 6659. Thank you.

Just get 2 batteries and 3000w panels according to our resident "expat".

Why should I be bitter or jealous over a solar installation? If I had just 2 batteries and had constant electricity, have I not fulfilled the same need as Niyi? Do I need to have 50,000 Watts of Panels when 3000 watts can do the job? I must be very dense

Go which route?

Pylon we go. Don't worry when I'm done. You would be convinced to go that route considering the size of your array.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Barezzi(m): 2:06pm On Feb 22, 2020
earthrealm,
This looks like you want the same Pv array to feed both the Fangpusun charge controller and DC Submersible pump. I've read in several fora that it's not a wise thing to do.
I believe you can achieve what you want by the use of a 12Vdc 2NO2NC contactor.
Connect the pump to the 2NO contact, and the Fangpusun CC to the 2NC contact.
A level float serves as the permissive to energise the contactor allowing the sub pump to refill the tank.
Add a timer in series with the float switch to energise the contactor on low water level between 10am and 3pm.

Remember you will be switching DC under load. Use of a properly sized DC contactor cannot be overemphasised.
