I am the murderer, I am not the suspect, I will tell you the truth, I killed my mum because she is a witch," said 26-year-old Olubukola Adefisayo, who is in police custody for allegedly killing her 62 year-old mother, Adedoyin Adeife.

The suspect was arrested by the Aguda Divisional Headquarters Area C Surulere on August 21, after report reached the police that she had killed her mother at their Number 2/4 Bola Bumi crescent, Aguda, Surulere.

The suspect is a graduate of Accountancy from the Oklahoma University in the United States of America. She confessed to being a cocaine addict from the age of 9 and was sexually abused by her uncle at the age of 3.

"I have two children age 3 and 2, but I gave them up for adoption. When I came to Nigeria, I started working for my mum as an estate agent. But she will not pay me well. I got angry because she is very rich. I see her writing cheques in million to her sister, but anytime I asked her for money she will not give me.

"I am sane and I am the murderer, I killed my mum after I discovered that she is a witch and had been sleeping with our 12 year old house help, Segun," Miss Adefisayo said.

She said she was jailed in the US for attempted murder. "I was living in the US and one of my neighbours had an issue with me over the laundry machine. After that issue, I went to jail and I decided to come back to Nigeria."

Miss Adefisayo indicted her mother for her drug addiction. "My mum introduced me to cocaine at the age of 9 and since then I have been an addict. After taking my cracked cocaine one day, I had a flash back on how my uncle Molested me when I was 3 years old. I began to cry and I asked our house help, Segun, if anybody had touched him in a way he does not like. Segun told me that my mum did and my mum had also given him cocaine.

"I said why should mum Be Intimate with Segun and it got me mad, we used to be poor and suddenly, we became rich because my mum used Bunmi, my sister for money rituals."

The suspect said she used a sledged hammer to kill her mother. "Segun told me that my mum also initiated him into witchcraft. I got really angry. I used white clothes to cover the entire mirror in our house; I lit seven candles and waited for 9.45pm which is spiritual time. When my mum came in that night, I asked her if she was a witch, but she was reluctant. I threatened to kill her with the hammer and then she said yes she is a witch and she killed my sister.

"My mum tried to collect the hammer from me and we started fighting. I overpowered her and hit her with the hammer on the head, she just slumped and died," she said.

When the suspect saw that her mother had died, she said she told the house help to pour acid on the body.

Police spokesperson, Frank Mba confirmed the incident.

Mr. Mba said: "After committing the crime on August 19, the suspect took the house help and they went to lodge in a hotel. She put a call to her sister in the US telling her that she had killed their mother.

"The case was reported to the police two days later and they went to their house and saw the lifeless body of the victim.

"From her confession, it is a combination of many factors. She need a psychiatrist and we need to decide if she committed the crime in her lucid period or as a result of the drugs she has been taking.

"Meanwhile, the case is been handled by the homicide department in Panti."

A Lagos based car dealer and his wife have been arrested over their alleged involvement in a robbery attack that led to the murder of his US-based mother. The suspects, Adedeji Idowu, 46 and his wife Adebimpe, 30, and two others are currently telling the police how Idowu’s US-based mother, Alhaja Sakirat Idowu, 65, was shot dead following her refusal to part with her money.

The man, who gave a graphic account on how his mother was robbed and finally shot dead
, said his intention was not to kill his mother but that the gunmen he hired were overzealous.

He said when he was deported from the US over an Immigration offence, things became very difficult for him and his wife.
He said his mother assisted him by sending him money but the money was not enough for him to set up a business.
He narrated how on a particular day his mother phoned him that she was visiting Nigeria and he told his friend Ologode, how his mother failed to help him recover a debt of N4 million owed him in the US.

According to him, Ologode told him that he would contact some boys who would rob his mother. He said when his mother finally arrived Nigeria, he and Ologode went to the airport to pick her. When they arrived home, the youths Ologode contacted for the robbery had already arrived and were waiting at the gate.

According to him when his mother settled down, he pretended that he was going outside, so, Ologode and his boys carried out the operation.
Ologunde narrated “As I was coming back, I heard gunshot and I knew things had gone awry.”
The man who broke down in tears said: “ I did not send them to kill my mother. I only wanted them to rob her and give me money to set up a business.”
The man who begged his father to forgive him over the dastard act admitted that his late mother had been of great assistance to him and his family.

He said after the robbery operation he got a share of N200 dollars. “I don’t even know how much Ologode and his boys collected. They only gave me 200 dollars, laptop and jewelry, which I gave to my wife.”
His wife, Adebimpe in her own story claimed that she only knew about her husband’s involvement in the robbery after the operations.
She said: “When people were pointing fingers at my husband, I did not believe it until the heat became too much on him and he confided in me that he organized the robbery.”

She revealed that her husband eventually sent her to meet Ologode for the loot. “But I was disappointed when Ologode handed me 200 dollars, a laptop and jewelries. I was surprised that my husband would organize robbery against his mother who had been assisting us.”
She said she could not spill the bean as she was protecting her marriage. “If I had known, I would have told his father about it. I am ashamed of myself.
Ologode, on his part told Daily Sun that he was trying to assist Adedeji in getting money to set up a business. He claimed that it was one Ambali, who fired the shot that killed the woman, adding that when he questioned Ambali on why he killed the woman, Ambali said that he wanted to threaten the woman but misfired.

He said he had begged God to forgive him and other members of the gang who are now at large. On how he procured the gun used during the robbery, he said it was one Irabor who brought the shot gun.
The immediate past Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo before handing over to the new CP, Mr. Isa Alkali told newsmen that it took intelligence gathering to unravel the mystery behind the murder of Alhaja Sakirat Idowu.
He confirmed that her biological son, a graduate of Texile Southern University, Adedeji and his wife Adebimpe masterminded the armed robbery that led to her murder.
He gave the names of other members as Maminu Olusoji alias Ologode, Irabor, Owolowo and Ambali.

CrimeMan Sets Mother Ablaze by bashr8(op): 12:08am On Jul 15, 2012
is it wickedness or bad upbringing pls stop this madness

A TWENTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD man, Idowu Akinkuotu, has set his 65-year-old mother, Mrs. Grace Akinkuotu, ablaze. The tragedy occurred in Lotogbe, Ondo, Ondo State.

Idowu is not known to have a history of mental illness.

The Nigerian Compass gathered that his mother was sleeping in her room when he walked in, poured petrol on the mattress and set it ablaze.

Prior to the incident, there was no love lost between Idowu and his late mother.

Four months ago, it was alleged that the duo had a misunderstanding over a plot hatched by the suspect to poison his mother before she met her untimely death.

Because of the plot, the deceased, a retired primary school teacher, was said to have vacated the house for her son. Her husband, who is said to be suffering from an eye problem, also lives in the house.

However, family members intervened and the deceased returned to the house after she was reconciled with Idowu but the suspect struck three days after his mother's return.

When the fire started, the deceased was said to have shouted for help but before she was rescued, she had been badly burnt. Her husband, who could not see well, tried to quench the fire to no avail.

The deceased was later taken to the Ondo State Specialist Hospital in Ondo town from where she was referred to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital ( OAUTH), Ile-Ife, Osun State.

She died before reaching Ile-Ife.

After setting her mother ablaze, Idowu ran to the house of a cleric where he was arrested by policemen.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Yaba Police Station, Ondo, Mr. Mike Okoh, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspect.

Idowu has been transferred to the homicide section at the Ondo State Police Command headquarters, Akure for further interrogation.“Meanwhile, a grandfather, Sani Hamidu, has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command with his son for conspiracy and killing of his grandchild, Sagiru Abdullahi.

The grandson's eyes, private part and throat were removed for the rituals before the corpse was thrown into a well.
State Police Commissioner, Mr Ikechukwu Aduba, confirmed the incident.

Represented by his Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Abdulmajid Ali, at a press briefing in Bauchi yesterday, the CP said the grandfather, who was paraded alongside 15 suspects, committed the act at Ashura Rahama Village, Toro Local Government Area of the North-East state, adding that after committing the heinous act, the corpse was dumped into a well from where it was recovered by the police.

The son, who escaped, has been declared wanted.

The police boss said the suspects would be charged with culpable homicide, punishable with death.

One Mohammed Sabo of Rigar Isamiya Darazo was also arrested for beating his wife to death with hoe on their way to the farm.

He said that policemen on routine patrol also arrested one Sabiu Sirajo who was in possession of 18 cutlasses and 14 daggers around Peoples Club, opposite Dass Park, Bauchi, adding that a combined team of police and the Neighbourhood Watch Group of Ganjuwa, acting on a tip off, arrested two suspects who confessed that they were specialists in attacking and robbing people of the belongings.

One Adigizey Abel John and two others were arrested for forging his father's signature on his cheque with a view to cashing N2.2 million from the Bauchi branch of Oceanic Bank.

Said the police boss: "Abel and the two others left Jos, the family's residence, to Bauchi for this purpose. To cover their act, they went to the MTN office, Bauchi, and swapped Abel father's SIM card number 08035633925.

"One of them, Hezekiah, was given the welcome back SIM bearing the same number to intercept bank transactions in respect of the cheque, while impersonating the father of the principal suspect."

Three suspects, who tried to snatch a Toyota Camry 2002 model with registration number BT 412 RSH valued at N3 million, were also paraded.

Also paraded was one Umar Idris who, with others now at large, burnt down a Mercedes Benz Marcopolo luxury bus belonging to Ekwos Transport Company, Lagos.

In Delta State, a 25-year-old worker of a construction firm, Setraco Nigeria Limited, identified as Saidu Suleiman, was yesterday strangled to death by a concrete mixing machine in the company’s premises in Bomadi.

It was gathered that the deceased, an operator of the machine, was killed about 2.30 p.m. as he was trying to fix the water supply device to the concrete mixer which he had discovered to be malfunctioning.

Sources said Suleiman, who until his death was a father of two, was inspecting the concrete mixer after putting it in order when his face was trapped by the machine and it squeezed him to death.

A company source, who craved anonymity, disclosed that the deceased had severally drawn the attention of the management to the ailing equipment as well as the difficulties he was facing in operating it.

Efforts to contact the management for comments were abortive as at the time of filing this report.

A police source confirmed the incident.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased had been taken to his home town in Okpila, Edo State for burial according to Muslim rites

ballabriggs: Mr man when did the Fulanis settle in those places and where did they settle from? Nobody can give you any concrete evidence of this, most stories about them settling in those places is vague. The Fulanis have come to stay in those lands and are not going to leave, deal with it or you create problems. The main cause of this crisis is the erroneous impression these ethnicities have that they could possibly win the war one day. The Fulanis have come to stay in those lands just like you an Ijebu man has come to stay in Epe. We must live with these things or peace would continue to elude us.
one way or the other the military still have to seperate them , this war started loong loong time ago so if this option will bring about peace and stop blood shed of women and children(both sides) then let it stay afterall of what use is land to a dead fulani or dead berom.

If everyone is to go back to where-ever OUR PARENTS (fore-fathers) came from, THEN WHY ARE WE NIGERIANS?
you keep demonstrating what an slowpoke you are, they where chased away from 3 villages only where tension and killing have been going on as the military obviously cannot guarantee the safty there ,where did you read they were pursued from all the town in plateau? stop disgracing yourself .

The terrible thing is that most of you are writing your rubbish outside your native homes. What the lazy STF seek is an easy route out of the issue that won't stand the test of time. Get to work you useless soldiers, protect the citizens and stop being c*nts. That is what they are paid to do and not to drive our citizens out of where they live and have settled for centuries.
because you cant chase an igbo man out of igboland, unless your talking about ijaw and ogoni part of ph then ijaw and ogonis too will have to leave igbo speaking part of ph in return , besides you dont see igbos chasing ijaws and ogonis away because they are using militancy and kidnapping to disturb the peace of port harcourt.anyway am sure your not even from south south to start with so your ignorance can be excused

The comparison is valid because Fulanis and Igbos are the groups most found outside of their ancestral villages.

the same way yorubas are migrants. every ethnic group migrate thats why yorubas have flooded ph ,aba, warri, uyo, enugu ,calabar, abuja and onithsa plus the north but do you see them going on killing spree? you have started one of these your stu...pid baseless arguements.

you are very stupid , fulanis are not from plateau , i dont blame you after all your just another daft lagosian . get it into your thick skulll , fulanis are not from plateau, if they cant leave peacefully then they have to go.

theres enough land in the core north to accomadate them , they have done enough damages in plateau already so its time to seperate them from plateau people . its a pity it has to come to this but them we dont want to wake up one morning to find out the beroms no longer exist cause after beroms maybe tiv will be next then idoma, igala ,yoruba etc.

Can you show me any documents stating that Fulanis were never living in Plateau in the first place?
you are mad, igbos live in cities major cities like like everyother ethnic group but they all know where their ancestral homes are and if anthing happens they all go back home. fulanis have no buisness calling plateau ancestral home. have u ever seen igbos calling lagos ancestral home or yorubas calling onitsha ancestral home.

NRI PRIEST: I can careless if you sell land to Igbos or not because you are a "non factor" in Nigeria power play. Nigeria has 36 states and I will not invest in your land even if its the last place standing to invest in Nigeria! Yorubas,Hausas are more than willing to sell land to us. Secondly,we view ppl who sell their fathers lands as "ofekes" how much more to a stranger. You said you are a strong tribe and I wanna know what makes you strong...oh,i guess your popularity comes from not selling land to the Igbos. Tell me one great man from Omoku. This oil will finally run dry and we will see what you do next. You sell lands to people on the other side of the country but not your neigbhours who hasnt done anything to you? You scared of us cause we are industrious and can achieve more than those with oil in their land. Shame on you and your tribe! Lazy and weak nonentities!
take it easy , u dont have to get mad over it.its their land not yours.theres thousand of other communities accros nigeria , infact u never buyland for south east finish , enugu govt is begging people to come and buy land and develop , kwara and kogi are giving out land for free umahia, asaba etc are craving for development so theres enuogh to go round
CultureRe: Why Don't The People Of Onelga In Rivers State Sell Land to Igbos? by bashr8: 5:04pm On Jul 13, 2012
brokoto: if they are doing that then it must be on rented land or leased land or they must have bought it through someone who is entitled to buy it so to speak which is unlikely. it is an unfortunate situation but you can agree with me that not all the laws in your hometown makes sense too. . .
its not about the law, some communities in anambra too dont sell land to strnagers outside their community , my point is lots of anambra igbos already own properties in the area so i dont think the law is that strong anymore. okigwe in imo state too refused to sell lands to outsiders thats why okigwe never dveloped till today.

brokoto: first of all i didn't say i liked the land selling arrangement. but that is not a reason to start insulting my tribe. on the other hand it is people like you that make such laws seem wise in retrospect. the fact that we do have 24hrs free electricity, is it not a good thing? i bet you if even half of Nigeria can boast of 24hrs uninterrupted PAID electricity we would have been among the top 20 economy in the world. let me tell you why the Igbos are dying to buy our land: 1) it is very cheap compared to PH which is just a 75 mins drive away.
2) do you know what you can achieve in your business with 24hrs free electricity?
3) it is a fast growing town and i know many people would want to key in to such good opportunities especially the business minded Igbos.
it is unfortunate that such a law exists but considering people like you, i think it should remain for the time being. we are a small but strong tribe and we are proud to stand on our own without having to associate with a bigger tribe. thank you
am hearing this for the first time, onelga people actually interact more with other igbos than ikwerres and we from anambra actually see them as imo people , i dont know when this law started but i know lots of anambra and imo buisness men that are setting up industries in onelga because of electricity and no they are not even married so i dont think this news is 100 percent correct .
