who is taking about IGR here, We are talking about Allowance not been paid to Lagos state for year and you are talking about IGR. Beside can you compare the population of Ondo which is 3,440,000 and of Ekiti 2,737,186 Osun 2,203,016 Edo 2,159,848 Ogun 4,054,272 to that of Lagos of over 20 million? so if someone can manage a state and finance newly created LG's for year without federal allowance, I think we need to give kudos to him.

There was a time ACN (AD) was the only surviving party in the SW, now they're 5 and talking of South west integration. The Tinubu of that time, even OBJ admired his doggedness, the Tinubu of today is widely seen as a revenue collecting pseudo-agency.

Ondo state is a very big state. After Lagos, they receive the 2nd highest allocation in the South West. You have to remember why Lagos is a commercial nerve centre of the state that even PDP is always wary of toying with. on't forget the population in the state as compared to other states.
When put in a difficult situation, Tinubu banked on the mass corporate sector of the state to generate revenue. Ondo does not have as much corporate establishments as Lagos, so if they had issues with FG, perhaps it's only farming the state may rely on. If all SW states had mass infrastrucute like Lagos, most people would not even stress themselves living in a city like Lagos.


Just to sum up your viewpoint, Tinubu of today, no matter how much the party thinks otherwise is not a South West AWOLOWO.

Sorry Oga mustay, Have you forgotten Ondo state has oil,cocoa, bitumen, iron, etc and they are member of the Niger-Delta. So with all they have at there disposal i believe they have alot of resouces more than Lagos.

Am writing based on what I know and places I've been to in the state and I was actively involved in this election that just ended.

Someone has rightly mentioned the deal - Mimiko employed his grassroots campaign very well. Politics is a dirty game - all these candidates, what I mentioned was that the BEST WORST is what voters are voting for cos these are the choices available.

You also have to remember that elections are not determined in just one LGA - it's everywhere!

The Tinubu you are mentioning, when people start to mention the annoying (the safest word I can use), na anothef thing you go talk. ACN cannot continue to claim that they are democratic while their nomination processes are via selections. This is the same party that made so much noise about PDP and godfatherism in OBJ years, yet Tinubu was speaking at the Oja Oba rally and modifying what godfatherism is.

Me I don't send anyone, na based on merits or demerits of a case, I dey write on. Whatever the case, it is wrong for you to make those analogies of popluarity contest of Tinubu/Fashola vs Mimiko in Ondo state - it even seems you've forgotten that it's BRF's personality that seemed to calm people down in 2007 when Tinubu had opposition to his handpicking.

i was born and raised in lagos, I only spend few years in Ondo and return to lagos. As far as Lagos is concern Tinubu is the Man to defeat,I guess that is an understatement, If i would be right as far as SW is concern Tinubu is the Man to defeat. He is so strong when it come to Politics. no saint in all this politicians but Tinubu proof he is fit and can run a state without any fund from FG for years. He create new LG's and run them with the generate from Lagos State alone and no allowance from FG. Some of Fashola projects was Tinubu plan and Fashola only implement them when he assume office and Yaradua release all the Allowance own Lagos State by the Federal GOverment. Now i put it to you Can Mimiko run Ondo state for years without allowance from FG if Ondo state wont be distablized.

Oga i live in Ondo State and ondo town to be precise, I know mimiko like i know the back of my palm. I pray together in the same mosque with his mother very close to his country Home in Esso Ondo town. So i know him very and also i know his brother so much that we eat together so i know what am saying. I did not have any bad mind for Mimiko just that he is a betrayer. his time as SSG cos so much destruction to so many people in Ondo town. let me stop here cos i dont want to remember the past.

He ran for counsellor in early 90's, ran for deputy governor in 1992 and lost the SDP's party nomination to Agagu. He ended up being a commissioner for health in his 30's. Ran for Governor under DPN before Abacha died and abdusallam dissolved all parties. Became commissioner for health the second time in 1999 under AD. Attempted to run for governor under AD in 2003 but was shut out by AD elders who hand picked Adefarati to run again( no primaries were held) . Decamped to PDP and became SSG under Agagu. Outfoxed Agagu's nomination for minister of housing( Akinkoye) and left Agagu's government to become d minister of housing. Resigned as minister ( against Obasanjo's wishes ) to run for governor against Agagu. Actually won the election and Obasanjo had to make sure that mimiko lost at all cost. Ondo state was the only state that the result was announced in Abuja. I am sure u know the rest.

Do not make statement indicating TInubu is no match for mimiko in playing Nigerias politics. He has d advantage of being in lagos were there is money. It was a bi mistake for him to think he could stop mimko in ondo state( check d above resume again) .I m sure if mimiko was from Lagos state, TInubu would not be as politically strong as he his now. Mimiko is a grassroots politician and he knows the game WELL

Sorry there is no transformer in my area i should have but you can do that on my behalf... The issue on ground is matter of Aketi, Oke and Mimiko not tinubu. I can bet my life if Tinubu was given a chance to run for Governor in Ondo state and given 2yrs to prepare he will defeat mimiko in front of his house cos he know the tactics better. Remember when he told Obasanjo that anyone that will take Lagos State from him will have to offer his/her mother for sacrifice. So Ondo is for Mimiko and his people like him so Goodluck to him but dont ever compare Mimiko to Tinubu, They are far from each other in term of Politics.

I voted for him because I know he has not performed so badly and it is almost an impossible mission to remove him from office. The easiest way to fight Godfathers is to provide the people with the dividends of democracy. FASHOLA would have won a second term even as an INDEPENDENT candidate without a party.

My suggestion, people should ignore these parties and just vote for the best persons in our elections...
