mj: I"ll provide this for you, naturally way of building backlinks is the best, I"ll do that for you.The big question is "how"? Blog commenting is a dead technique, if that's what you're looking at. Only guest posting is cutting it presently as far as getting QUALITY backlinks is concerned. |
OP, you'll do yourself a lot of good by adhering strictly to all the pieces of advice you've been given so far. |
OP, welldone. But I can provide you with evidences that ALL your tips can't rank a website on number 1 within 2 weeks. If you'd like it, let's perform a 2-week experiment. Let's set up a new blog and do everything you listed. And we'll see if it gets to number 1 in 2 weeks. OP, all these tips are dead. Check out the blogs and websites ranking tops for most keywords, how many of your tips are they obsessing over. I can only agree with backlink building, but not through blog commenting. Commenting is dead! |

Of course, we should. Even though OBJ wasn't a good president, GEJ is worse. Remember the Zaki Biam massacre ordered by OBJ? If it were to be GEJ, he'd say "We're on top of the situation." Remember that there wasn't anything like BH during OBJ's regime? At least, for those 2 reasons, OBJ may truly deserve some gratitude. But, seriously, looking at it from another angle, I think GEJ is drunk. And we think we should all pardon a man for whatever he says when he's in such state. When he's expected to speak, he doesn't. And when he does, he spews BS! |

I stand to be disagreed with. |
1. If you're still using the ..com domain rather than a more professional .com one (Don't tell me LIB is on a . Linda was just lucky. Besides, she had a very brilliant idea and she started well before most Nigerians knew what blogging was all about. And FYI, Linda Ikeji doesn't own that blog. It belongs to Google, and Google can do anything they like with it - anytime.) If you're targeting an international audience, know this: most people don't click on ..com links because there's a general impression of unprofessionalism about them 2. If you're blogging about entertainment news and gossip. This niche is already saturated, especially in Nigeria, and you'll never beat the likes of Nairaland, LIB, and other monster sites to it. So, simply choose another niche you have interest in. There are loads of other less competitive niches. 3. If you think you can run a serious blogging career without spending a dime. Well, if you're a web designer, a very good writer, and you have lots of free time, you'll spend much less. But you'll still need money for hosting, domain registration, etc. 4. If you've been copying and pasting content onto your blog, expecting Google to rank you for such stolen content. 5. If you started blogging out of desperation to make cool cash simply because you've heard that NL and LIB are money spinners. 6. If you think you can just publish some posts, then fold your arms, and watch traffic increase and advertisers coming to you. (You're such a joker). 7. If you think you can just write and publish some crappy blog posts. (FYI short posts of 200-500 words aren't just cutting it these days). Most articles that stay on top of Google are thousands of words long, well written, invaluable, and evergreen. 8. If you're only blatantly advertising with your posts and have your blog littered with ads. 9. If you don't know anything about keyword research, long tail keywords, quality link building (through guest posting etc), SEO, and content marketing. 10. If you're always seeking automated shortcuts (link building software, article spinners). 11. If you're too lazy to write or you're a very bad writer. (Yes, blogging thrives on the skill of writing). 12. If you're not ready to read more than you write. (You need to spend lots of time reading other blogs in your niche and get more ideas from them.) 13. If you're not ready to work hard and give much to blogging. (Blogging is just like any other business. It takes lots of time, effort, patience, interest, and money to succeed.) PS. If you're only blogging for the fun of it, or just because you want to have an online presence, you need not worry about all these. But if you really mean to make money with blogging, you definitely should!!! Next week, I'll start a practical session here, in which I'll start a new blog from scratch. (Sorry, I'll be using since it's for tutorial and experimental purposes. I already have two self-hosted wordpress blogs.) So, if you wish to make money online through blogging, you can follow my exact steps as I'll lead beginners through the process of setting up, running, and improving the quality of a blog. Till then, take care. |
ace1: Depends on how you use it bro. WordPress is more than just a blogging platform nowPlease learn to read between lines. I wrote "more suitable for blogging", not "suitable only for blogging." |
Well, I'll recommend the "Constructor" theme. It's very easy to customise to suit your taste. And you don't need to be code-savvy to customize it. |
COUNTAWO: Do you understand what real estate means?FYI, I've written blog posts on real estate for American clients. So, I'm very familiar with the topic. I'm only asking if you want to run a blog (as in publish posts on a frequent basis) or you want to design a static website. If I may ask, do you understand Wordpress? Do you know it's more suitable for blogging? |
Well, the choice of a theme depends on the intended content. Do you intend publishing articles (blog posts) on it, or you're building just a static website. |
COUNTAWO: Hello webmasters, please I need a real estate theme that I can install on wordpress.Do you mean a theme that would work fine for a real estate blog, or there's a them named "real estate"? |
Afam4eva: Are we supposed to guess the the name of the blog and the url?I've modified the post by adding the URL. Thanks for the observation. I left it out by mistake. |
Hello fellow webmasters, I just created my blog/online portfolio. Please help me critique the blog's look. Mind you, I left it simple because I want something very simple. In case you have more suggestions on how I can improve the look without complicating it, let me know. The URL is: http://contentmarketingplus.com Thanks. |
Hello, I just sent you a text from 08187***069 |
The simple fact is that most bloggers are desperate for quick results and are therefore not patient enough to apply the right tactics. Even "SEO experts" are no longer getting it right these days. All the shortcut, automated strategies are no longer fooling Google. Only natural, real, and high quality tactics are now working. 1. Frequent publishing of high quality content (longer posts of 1000+ words are doing better in Google these days) 2. Guest posting (ignore this one and you'll die of failure!) 3. Optimizing your posts for ultra-specific, long tail keywords. If you're persistent in these 3 for just six months, you'll start generating tons of traffic, and you'll start making huge profits from your blog. It's a guarantee! |
Yeah. I agree with you, OP, that most SEO strategies that worked like crazy in the past are now dead. Google is getting smarter by the day, and no longer are there shortcuts to Google's top ranks. Content marketing remains the only strategy for long-term SEO and traffic generation benefits. Unfortunately, most bloggers are still running after blog commenting, social bookmarking sites, forum profile links, and stuffing posts with keywords. Others are buying tons of useless Twitter followers and Facebook fans, thinking they can convert them into traffic. This tactic was never alive. It has always been dead. The only strategies that are working for SEO and quality traffic on today's internet include the following: 1. High quality content (not crappy 300-word posts). Not content copied from other sites. 2. Guest posting 3. Submitting articles to high quality directories (not the likes of Ezinearticles and goarticles) 4. Optimizing your posts for long tail keywords Here are things you must avoid: -Link exchange -Buying backlinks -Publishing copied content -Targeting competitive keywords -etc. (I just can't exhaust the list here). |
Elance all the way. But what services do you intend rendering on these sites? |
SimonAndal: DON'T BUY A TABLET!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE PLANNED IN ILLUMATI TO DESTROY EARTH SOUL HUMAN!!!!!!!! EG. OBAMA'S SOUL MICROCHIP. HELL US REEAL..... BEWARE IF YOUR SOULS!!!!!Who's this ma.d man? |
If you have a debit card/ credit card, it should work. I paid using a PayPal account (a friend's). To check if namecheap will accept your card, you can try loading some funds to your account using your card. |
UPDATE Alexa Rank: 479,000 (Feb 23) Price: $180 (N27,000) Daily pageviews: now about 100 PS. You must have an account with namecheap.com, as the domain is registered with namecheap. |
Think content marketing. It rocks! http://contentmarketingplus.com/what-is-content-marketing |
She's talking out of confidence that they'll rig. |
GEJ's talking out of confidence that he'll rig. |
Anyone - young or old - with the needed qualities should be chosen. What I hate to hear is people's clamour nowadays for younger people. Responsibility - in politics - doesn't hinge on age. Even the young ones have disappointed and performed woefully (Etteh, Bankole, Akunyili, etc.) So, anyone with integrity should be chosen, irregardless of age. But that person, I just can't recommend. |
Stu.pid governor! He sent a letter to the speaker, informing him of his decision to "proceed on leave". See blatant lie. |
I just resolved to sell my health and wellness blog (http://vitalhealthinfo.com) If you're interested, contact me via basicfreelance@gmail.com Page Rank: 0 Alexa Rank: around 572,000 (as at Feb 11 2013) Created: July 2012 Number of articles: 26 (range between 400 - 1200 words) Daily page views: 40-70 Monetization: None Bonus: Facebook page (146 likes) - http://facebook.com/vitalhealthinformation Price: $280 SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY!!! |
Lol! That's one of the reasons why I hate working for Nigerian clients (I'm a freelance writer, BTW). |
Why not go for namecheap? You deposit first into your namecheap account, and with your funds you can pay for your chosen plan. |
OP, let me start by advising you that free autoresponders are not good, for 2 reasons: 1. They run adverts in your mails 2. They have very low deliverability (i.e. most of your emails will end in your recipients' junk/bulk/spam folder) Secondly, if you opt for a free autoresponder, you may be unable to import your list if you later decide to opt for the reliable and professional ones like Getresponse, Aweber, and Mailchimp. Oh, I just remembered this: Mailchimp has a free plan that allows you to send 12000 mails to 2000 subscribers per month. So if you have up to 2000 subscribers, you can send them 6 emails each. But if you want something larger, and you still insist on the absolutely free ones, just Google the words, "free autoresponder service" and you'll get loads of them. |
