tkb417:@tkb, this match aside-you and I know refs can be influenced to determine the outcome of matches! Barca's knocking out of Chealsea in the CL was influenced by the ref! Mind you I didn't say he was bribed but at the same time all the big bucks changing hands in match fixings scandals are not "gifts" tkb417:If anyone is to offer you a guaranteed winner in a match like this, run! Nobody is guaranteed to win unless the game is fixed, Man U might have a high probability of winning, but nothing is ever 100%. Nobody knew Real Madrid were going to swallow 5goals against Barca. Chelsea were coasting at the top of the Premier League a month ago. They hadn’t conceded a goal at home for a near record number of matches. They looked a sure thing to win the Premier League. Senegal shocked the world by beating France in the 2002 World cup. |

Saharareporters has obtained official documents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) which indicate that deposed Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State was deeply involved in the illicit transfer of state funds to former Governor James Ibori, his wife, mistress and other associates. Some of the documents in our possession reveal that Mr. Uduaghan, who is Ibori’s cousin, ordered the payment of about N2 billion in “unconventional transactions” between Delta State Government and Udoamaka Okoronkwo, Mr. Ibori’s mistress who is serving a five-year imprisonment in the UK following her conviction on money laundering charges The EFCC records show that the transactions took place when Uduaghan was Secretary to the Delta State government during Mr. Ibori’s governorship. The deals are reflected in various EFCC files. Many of these payments involved the companies SAGICON LTD., RIVBBED LTD., and SAAGARIS PROPERTIES LTD, all controlled by Udoamaka Okoronkwo. The documents show that in some instances, funds were deposited directly into Ms. Okoronkwo’s individual account in Nigeria. Law enforcement agents in Nigeria and the UK told Saharareporters that they believe much of the funds may eventually have been laundered into the UK and other foreign countries where Ibori and his cohorts maintained lavish lifestyles. One EFCC witness described payments to Okoronkwo’s companies as “outside any payment due for genuine contracts” (file p.21). Yet another said that some of the payments related to the Delta State Polytechnics project, control of which was wrested from the State Ministry of Education and placed under a special committee of which Uduaghan was a member (file p.80). In her own statements to EFCC, Okoronkwo described providing a range of goods and services to the Ibori government, including several bullet-proof Range Rovers purchased from High Protection Company in the United States During his tenure as Secretary to the State Government, Uduaghan also oversaw and directly ordered distributions of huge amounts of “security vote” funds. Witness statements and financial documentation in the EFCC files show that these payments included: • At least N1.23 billion funneled through BAINENOX LTD. and MER ENGINEERING NIGERIA LTD, companies controlled by Ibori and close family members, as part of an illicit loan scheme; • At least N383 million laundered over 2 years through PRIME CHAMBERS LTD, a Nigerian company owned by Prof. Amos Utuama, former Attorney General and Justice Commissioner under Ibori. Mr. Utuama was the Deputy Governor in Uduaghan’s deposed government. Uduaghan’s own statement to EFCC investigators (file pp.166f) also details how he, as SSG, oversaw the transfer of billions in “security” funds to violent actors in Delta State. A partial breakdown showed the following: • An average of 100 million naira per month in “operational expenses” was paid to the Joint Task Force (JTF). Much of this money, Uduaghan stated, was paid over the counter in cash because the military officers who reportedly received it “did not want the money to pass through a bank account;” • Payments to various “youths and elders” who “supply information and sometimes go to the communities to carry out activities that will bring peaceful coexistence;” • Payments for “information gathering and logistics to get hostages freed;” • Payments for “pipeline surveillance and prevention of pipeline vandalisation,” along with other “security activities that will protect the oil installations;” • “Ad-hoc” payments to quell “security emergencies.” For instance, on October 5, 2004, Mr. Uduaghan arranged a cash payment of 700 million naira to unknown beneficiaries. On March 14, 2005, he again effected the transfer of 950 million naira to equally unknown recipients. The documents indicate that Mr. Uduaghan was interrogated by the EFCC and made to write statements in his handwriting on February 26 2006. Asked about his US-based brother, Victor Uduaghan, who is a medical doctor and who allegedly acted as a money-laundering front for Mr. Ibori, Uduaghan denied that he had anything to do with his brother. The EFCC also interrogated Vincent Uduaghan, described as contractor to the Delta State government and another brother of Mr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, as part of the wider Ibori investigation. Several sources within Delta State and the judiciary told Saharareporters that Mr. Emmanuel Uduaghan played a prominent role, albeit behind the scenes, to corruptly secure the quashing of the 170-count charge proffered by the EFCC against Ibori in 2009. He used Delta State funds to set up a kangaroo court in Asaba, the state capital. Uduaghan, whose governorship was recently invalidated by a Nigerian appellate court, bought a building from Raymond Guana, Delta’s commissioner for Lands and Survey, and “donated” the building to serve as the Federal High Court. Mr. Guana had served as then Governor Ibori’s Special Adviser on local governments. The court in Asaba was presided over by Justice Marcel Awokulehin, a notoriously corrupt judge who accepted a $5 million dollar bribe to dismiss the case against Ibori. “Dr. Uduaghan did everything in his powers to sabotage Chief Ibori’s trial because he knew that Ibori’s acquittal would be the only way he and Professor Utuama would never be exposed in their roles in the series of scam masterminded by Ibori,” a source in Asaba told us. On November 9, a Court of Appeal brought Uduaghan’s tenure as governor to an abrupt halt. The court determined that the April 2007 election that enabled Mr. Uduaghan to succeed Ibori was grievously rigged. The court asked Nigeria’s electoral commission to conduct a new governorship election within 90 days. Since his removal, Uduaghan and his well-funded associates have claimed the “support” of President Goodluck Jonathan and bragged that he would win the coming election. Meanwhile, various groups in Delta have vowed to bar Mr. Uduaghan from returning to Government House. One day after he was sacked, a source at the EFCC told Saharareporters that the agency was planning to arrest and try both Mr. Uduaghan and Mr. Utuama for their involvement in money laundering and financial crimes. Another EFCC source indicated that the agency’s inability to follow through with its plans arose from signals sent by the Presidency that Mr. Uduaghan should be allowed to represent the PDP in the forthcoming governorship polls. The Delta State Elders, Leaders and Stakeholders Forum have called for the prosecution of both Mr. Uduaghan and Mr. Utuama for economic crimes. The Democratic Peoples’ Party (DPP) has also urged that the rusticated governor and his deputy as well as the electoral officers responsible for their so-called election in 2007 be prosecuted in order to discourage future electoral impunity. http://www.saharareporters.com/news-page/efcc-investigations-outline-how-uduaghan-diverted-billions-delta-state-funds |
Ibori's London-based lawyer, Bhadresh Gohil, this morning stunned the Southwark Crown Court in London when he entered a guilty plea on the first day of his trial over the V-Mobile shares scam. Mr. Gohil was arraigned of charges of aiding and abetting a scheme that enabled former governors, Mr. James Ibori of Delta state, Victor Obong Attah of Akwa Ibom state; the former Principal Secretary to Umaru Yar'Adua, David Edevbie;, Love Ojakovo, a former commissioner of finance to Ibori and a business associate of Ibori, Henry Imashekka to steal funds that accrued from the sale of V-Mobile shares belonging to the two states. Mr. Gohil, who had already been convicted on other counts of money laundering in collaboration with Ibori's wife, Theresa Nkoyo, surprised legal observers when he choose to plead guilty rather than undergoing another grueling prosecution. Some legal observers told Saharareporters today that Mr. Gohil's guilty plea will ultimately hasten the final extradition of Ibori from the United Arab Emirates where he is currently stalling his extradition through appeal. Two others Lambertus De Boer, and Daniel McCann were in court and pleaded not guilty. The accused face 14 counts of forgery and money laundering in relation to the sale of V-Mobile telecoms shares by two Nigerian States: Akwa Ibom State and Delta, in which $37.8 million was stolen. The accused men used front companies to defraud the Nigerian states of the said amount. In particular, a company, "Africa Development Finance Co." was named as the major conduit. In instances cited in the case summary, an $11 million loan was purportedly granted to an aviation company that assisted Mr. Ibori in purchasing a jet from Canada; $10 million was given to "Ascot Offshore Nigeria Limited", the company that Ibori used to purchase Wilbros; and another $790,000 was granted to another fake firm "Africa Development Co." and an offshore nominee concern. The charges of forgery concern Mr. DeBoer and Mccan. They were accused of violating the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act of the UK by creating fake documents between Delta State and Africa Finance Ltd, and also Delta and African Development Company. They are also accused of creating a false account which shows both men as beneficiaries, in order to hide the fraudulent nature of the transactions. http://www.saharareporters.com/news-page/v-mobile-shares-scam-iboris-lawyer-bhadresh-gohil-pleads-guilty |
As Sir Alex Ferguson so once famously quoted after Man United’s epic comeback in the 99 Champions League, football can straddle the thin line between success and failure very closely indeed. As the scorer of the ‘golden’ own goal that provided a 5 a side team with a first trophy will no doubt testify! It’s the same when it comes to football betting of course – with a referee decision here, an offside there meaning the narrowest of differences between a winning and losing bet. When you add in bookmaker margins of guaranteed profit and the teams of people they employ to spend all day pricing up bets. How likely therefore is it to actually make money betting on football? The answer is that it is possible to prosper betting on football, but often only when you have an expert to guide you. Just as 80% of people will tell you they are a good driver the reality is the % figure is a lot lower – me included! My point is most people over-estimate just how good they are at picking out profitable bets. |
Eziachi:Don't tell me you don't believe money ritual is real? I personally know of a case of husband, wife attempting to use their live-in Husband's mum for ritual before it back-fired and the wife confessed. They were staying in a one room apartment on my street at Surulere. |
^wat abt him?
Yes he might be the best material we have in our national team! But man, Mikel's a d4mn average player! I don't understand what all the hype is about? During and after the WYC, he was being competitive with Messi! They were the in thing! Clubs were fighting over him! Today he's being compared with Song! Next year, maybe he's going to be compared with Danny Shittu! For me, I don't class that as progress! |
