Yes, the good ones are NEVER celebrated and they are usually not rich because the average police salary can't make them rich undecided

Some of the good ones are rich. These are who started thinking outside the box. Some took loans and started businesses with their wives as managers. I know one who owns a block industry in Suleja. I know another who owns a wheel and tyre dealership in Lagos. These guys don't collect kobo from anyone. They are living a comfortable life without corruption. People think that every policeman driving a good car got that through dubious means, such is not the case. Then there are those from rich families. I know one who manages his family's granite quarry. This guy is larger than yahoo boys. But such people don't even work where you'll notice them.

Gov. Umahi Reveals Identities Of Hoodlums That Attacked Police Stations In Ebonyi State

By Wisdom Nwedene, Abakaliki

Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State, on Tuesday, revealed the identities of hoodlums that attacked Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital on Monday afternoon.

IGBERE TV had reported that the hoodlums stormed Abakaliki on Monday, shooting sporadically before setting a Police Station located at Onuebonyi on fire.

In a Statewide broadcast monitored by IGBERE TV, Umahi said the hoodlums that attacked Abakaliki are Ebonyians that came from a particular village and a Local Government in the name of IPOB.

According to the Governor, the hoodlums had abducted some policemen who were on peace mission in their community sometime last year even though the policemen were later released because of his ntervention.

He said : "On Tuesday, the 20th of October, 2020, those who invaded our state and destroyed our infrastructure came from outside. Yesterday, Monday, 26th October, 2020 those who came are Ebonyians from a particular village and a Local Government in the name of IPOB."

"We know these people, we know their fathers. Same people that abducted some policemen who were on peace mission in their community sometime last year even though the policemen were later released by my intervention."

" I have offered details here so that you know we know you very well and you are responsible for the killing and looting in your state using the cover of IPOB. I refuse to buy into this as a criminal is a criminal and criminality is criminality."

"I, therefore, appreciate our security agencies for their maturity and listening ear to me yesterday not to retaliate. However, it is unconventional for people to invade a police station, burn the police station, kill the police people and take their guns."

"It is uncommon for you to attack the army who were protecting you, strategic government assets too and yet they remain unprovoked. Security agencies in the state have asked me to please plead with you to stop attacking them and burning their stations."

"Let me assure Ebonyians that more security agencies were deployed from outside the state last night and they have been deployed to protect you."

"Social-economic activities in Ebonyi State must return now, go about your normal businesses in peace."

"To our young children who are hiding under IPOB to kill us, we do not deserve it, our government has done their best to give you good governance, where we have failed as human beings, I here again offer my apologies with a firm offer and promise to make amends with your inputs."

"Today, I plead with these young hoodlums killing us in the name of IPOB to withdraw peacefully to their houses. Security agencies must please give them peace to do so. They must be allowed free access to return to their communities."

"I will compensate all families whose loved ones were either injured or killed during this unfortunate period, whether security agencies or civilians or even these hoodlums."

STAY WITH IGBERE TV. AFRICA'S NO1 COMMUNITY TV.

Agreed! We saw where the whole families living on one street were given a loaf of bread and one Gino tomato. E shock me

I'm also aware that in Zamfara, though there was no lockdown but bandits attacks made things tough for the people yet no palliatives was shared. It gets worse for states where the rich are only the political class both past and present.

*THIS IS THE REASON WHY HAUSAS, YORUBAS, EDO AND THE NIGER DELTA MAN WILL NOT TRUST THE IBO MAN AT THE CENTER AND WHY THE HAUSAS MAY NOT WANT TO RELINQUISH POWER IN NIGERIA*

Any historians in the house to vet this:

Forgotten History Of Igbo Tribe And Northern Alliance.

Do you know that when Tafawa Balewa was Prime Minister of Nigeria;

Chief of Army Staff was from SE
Chief of Naval Staff was from SE
IG of Police was from SE
Chief of Defence Staff was from SE
Internal Affairs Minister SE
External Affairs Minister SE
Education Minister South SE
Many other key ministries to SE
Parliament President SE
Unilag VC from SE
The University of Ibadan VC from SE
North resisted same at ABU!

Still, there was dissatisfaction by SE, the officers from the region killed this same Balewa!!!!

Out of all the most senior officers in Nigeria, SE has 37, none was killed. 8 from the north, all of them were killed. 10 from the west, 2 were killed.

Then Ironsi imposed a unitary system of government on the country so that everything can belong to a region who snatched it!

We must know our history so that when we want to make corrections, we will not end up concealing the truth. This has nothing to do with tribalism but everything to do with the truth.....at times when lies litter the streets. There is a tendency to think those are truths and facts.

*What follows are documented facts that can be cross-checked for authenticity!"*

Thou shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

*“Prof. Ben Nwabueze was the man who drafted the constitution that took away powers from regions and handed it to the central government because his brother Aguiyi Ironsi was the head of state then. Today, he is shouting restructuring that he helped to destroy. We won’t forget.”*.

WHAT BIAFRANS WILL NEVER TELL YOU ABOUT THE REAL CAUSE OF THEIR WOES IN NIGERIA TODAY:

The Igbo man is known to enjoy blaming the Hausa fulanis, Yorubas and indeed every other Nigerian tribe and Lord Luggard/Britain for their seeming claim of being in third class citizen status in Nigeria. In their perpetual attempts to play the victim card, they recount the political events of Nigeria from 1914 to the present in a half-baked and highly selective manner which cleverly avoids the mention of the roles played by their elite who by all natural laws of judgement were actually responsible for the woes that befell not only the Igbo race but the entire Nigeria nation. The story told in the post above is one of such selective and distorted accounts of history which the average Igbo man is fond of narrating.

However, the national archives have the complete and unedited history of Nigeria regarding the political events beginning way back from even before 1914. I will therefore proceed to furnish my readers with the complete story for all to read and be endowed with enough facts so as to judge and act from an informed position.

Shortly after the 1914 Amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorates, it started getting clear that the country was bound to fail as the amalgamation in question was done with colonial fiat without the consent and consensus of the different tribes which were over 300. This prompted the political leaders to start asking for de-amalgamation so as to forestall the future danger which the forced amalgamation portended.

To that end, Ahmadu Bello, speaking on behalf of the Northern protectorate in 1944 described the amalgamation as "The mistake of 1914 which if allowed to remain will ultimately lead to unstoppable bloodshed and a failed country".
Awolowo, speaking on behalf of the Yorubas and Western minorities, described Nigeria as a mere geographical expression not qualified to be called a country let alone a nation. Awolowo added that if the amalgamation could not be reversed, then Nigeria should be structured as a strictly federal state so as to enable each tribe enjoy autonomy this freedom from being dominated by any one single tribe.

But Nnamdi Azikiwe, speaking for the Igbos, denounced Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello, terming them ethnic champions. He accused them of nursing a sectional agenda against the unity of Nigeria, and he declared further that the Unity of Nigeria was non-negotiable.

After moving the motion for independece in 1953, Anthony Enahoro proposed that a secession clause should be incorporated into the future constitution of Nigeria so as to give legal backing for any tribe to peacefully exit the forced union if it feels marginalized in future. According to Enahoro, such provision in our constitution would instill in all Nigeria's future leaders the fear of the consequences of misgovernance. But Azikiwe, speaking on behalf of Igbos, rose against him in the parliament and labelled him an agent of disunity, and enemy of Nigeria. At a later date, Awolowo too made a case for secession clause, but Azikiwe again resisted him and instigated the colonial authorities to threaten him and Enahoro with charges of treasonable felony if they didn't stop proposing secession clause for the future constitution. While Azikiwe did all these, Igbos cheered and urged him on because they felt the future Nigeria was theirs to dominate and lord it over every other tribe

Before independece, Tafawa Balewa too had in a public speech described Nigeria as a British experiment and Nigeria's unity as a British intention which Nigerians themselves don't believe in. But Azikiwe kicked and demonized him too. Had Azikiwe co-operated with Enahoro, Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa about the secession clause, Nigeria perhaps would not have been this misgoverned.

For those in doubt, here is a link of one of the numerous instances in which Nnamdi Azikiwe fought against the secession clause proposal for the future Nigeria constitution.

It should be noted that there were many Igbo members of the parliament in which Azikiwe fought against Awolowo's secession clause proposal in the link above, but not a single one of them rose against Azikiwe or condemned him.

Igbos initially never wanted to hear anything like secession in Nigeria because they so much believed, though falsely, that they were the most educated tribe. (The first Nigerian tribe to produce a university graduate is the Binis). As an evidence of Igbo domination agenda hence their initial resistance to the idea of secession; here are some quotes:

"From all indications, the god of us Igbos have destined us to rule the whole of Africa"..... Nnamdi Azikiwe (1945).

Cry me a river dear. How many can you deceive?
You and your likes hate Igbos for one reason, they are magically successful. Nothing pays like hard work. It hurts your feelings that out of nothing Igbos came out of near extinction and are doing well again.
It hurts your feelings that Igbos are not beggars on the streets. It hurts your feelings that your people has the whole appointments in the country but Igbo man has a better meal on his table.
Child of hate free yourself from this mental bondage and emotional stress.
No matter how far you have gone on the wrong road, the best decision is to turn around.
And no matter how far you take your campaign of calumny, Igbos will still be around thriving.
Use your time better, may be you'll stop having these nightmares full of Igbo people as bogey men.

They will not do anything about police welfare. Our leaders see police as sacrificial lambs but the people don't know that much.

Remember how Ngige lied on TV that they won't increase police wages because they did so the previous year.
Some time in the past the govt and their minions circulated something they called police improved salary but it was all lies. Policemen take home peanuts.

Bihari would have told us how the government plan to repair and fuel police patrol vehicles.

He would have told us how they plan to provide kits and stationeries for police.

Does the public know that Nigeria Police is basically and officially run with proceeds of investigation activities and provision of personal security. Therefore bail can never be free.

Visit any police barrack and see where our policemen wake up from. Then you'll know what the government has done with our police organization.

Someone will ask, "how about police budget?".
The three of NPF, Ministry of police affairs and Police Service Commission got N13.3B for capital expenditure.
This money by calculations can not fuel police patrol vehicles with 30 liters/day for one year.
Not to talk of acquiring new one or repair, barrack maintenance, courses, recruitments, utilities, kits, investigation activities, operations, etc
Most unfortunately, this budgeted money is never disbursed in full.

Our government is not ready to give us a good police organization and they use the available to secure their families knowing the inadequacies.

We have some bad elements in the police which is a reflection of the today's society we live in.

The major truth the people has refused to tell themselves is that police is not the enemy, people in government are.
Government is just manipulation us all and we fall for it all the time.

What is wrong with the president? Properties and lives are been lost and yet nobody is been held to account. Is the country now a Somalia or Afghanistan where there was no law?

Or is it because the things that are happening is not in the north hence his deliberate behaviour to ignore the South?
What is all this rubish? They are killing law enforcement agencies and no any reaction from government but if the police retaliated now, you will see a massive video online crying extrajudicial killings. Are the police not humans? Don't they have families?

Now my advice to the police is to start fighting back. Don't look while these hooligans kill and Miam you. Return fire for fire

This is the first time in our history as a country that NPF is reacting to demonstration with great civil sense and professionalism. They kept their cool even when it was becoming riotous. What happened in the end? Attack of police stations and killing of police officer by the wonderful protesters.
Police is now ready to defend themselves.

Eugene may be you are from Enugu, may be you are not. I'm from Anambra but was born and raised in Enugu. I and my parents were frequently reminded that we are not from the state until we left Enugu. It is a behaviour that majority of the indigenes there have carried on till today; hence the billboard. So I know what I was doing when I wrote typical.
A behavior mustn't have a 100% spread to be typical.

Therefore, the foolish person is neither you nor me but the woman and other humans who behave in like manner.

adanny01:
So, my car is about 6yrs and the paint is in bad shape, thats apart from scratches and dents by family and friends.

The plan is to buy an electric spray gun (see image below), sanding discs for electric drill, buffer for electric drill, paint, thinner, clear coat, primmer, scotch tape and old newspapers. The panel beating will be done by competent panel beater.

My motivation is lack of funds to contract the best services for the job. Also, the cheap ones will not do a good job. I paid 30k for my sister's car last year but at this time, my car painted 6yrs ago is far better off.

From my reading, the main work in painting a car is the preparation (sanding precisely). Actual painting does not take more than 5hrs but the preparation will take days - weeks to get it right. I know if I Do-It-Myself, it will come out better. The only part I am scared of is the actual painting i.e getting right viscosity and colour.

Challenges:
- I am not sure if the electric spray gun will be adequate. The main decision is buying the spray gun.
- The Spray gun itself cost more than half of the budget but if successful, I may do 2 other projects which will eventually be the cost advantage.
- I have no experience in paint mixing or thinning
- I am also afraid of the job being too tedious or that without a garage cover, dust may make the job bad.

I admire your spirit. You are in for something great. Trial DIY is sweet when you have enough cash for repetitions and final resignation to employing an expert in case you don't get it right.

Spray gun is a no no. It spits. It doesn't give a continuous stream of air. I have one. I used it to spray an old fridge and the job wasn't wonderful.
You need a proper spraying machine which you can borrow/hire from a furniture maker.

The art of spraying is not easy. You need time to learn the hand movements. How to start and brake the stream for consistency without causing bleeding. How to spray difficult corners too.

Mixing the paint is not difficult. An experienced paint dealer can teach you that. Do not be deceived, you don't need plenty of thinner. Painters make people believe they do.

If you feel your finishing is not right, scrape it and start over. You have all the time in the world.

Sanding disc is not ideal for auto finishing especially for a novice. Buffer is ok. Use your hand and go gradually. To get the surfaces and edges straight, hold the sand paper with a block of wood at the back.
Follow those videos but don't forget they were made by experts using the right equipment and under the best conditions.

Update us here on progress for contributions.
