Nice one. Good job done by the parents. It will so embarrassing if someone born and raised in US speaks Igbo for one fake oyibo born and raised in Enugu or Owerri and he can't reply properly.
I can tell my dear naive nairalanders that the said money cannot fuel police vehicles effectively for one year. We are talking about at least 30 liters of fuel for about 12000 patrol vehicles a day, fuel for investigation activities, fuel special duties, fuel for administrative and logistic runs.
I wanted to add fuel for generators then I remember we are only talking about vehicles now
Last year I created a thread asking for information on the breed of my recently acquired dog, and discovered thence that this cute ball of pristine white fur is an American Eskimo- https://www.nairaland.com/5568612/what-breed-dog
Alas, his cuteness begins and ends with his fur. He has a most disturbing taste for rats. He doesn't just chase them, he eats them.
We have had several dogs in the past and none of them have actually eaten household pests, but White (so named for obvious reasons) eats rats, lizards...and my God, cockroaches
Well, I wouldn't say he actually eats roaches; he pins them down and rips them to shreds. Sometimes he even sneaks into my room in search of rats stuck on the rat gum. He has even mastered the art of eating the rats without having the gum stick to his fur. The first time he stole a rat laden gum from my room, we had to cut the gum and some of his fur away where it stuck. Now he has become an expert and can now consume the rats on the gum without getting his mouth stuck .
How can an animal so beautiful be so unbelievably disgusting? My mum says he is possessed.
file photo. He doesn't sit still long enough to be photographed.
Under this economy person dey keep possessed dog. By the time I roast this dog with plenty yaji, evil spirit go comot from am.
SilverNorGold: My brother, instead of you to call the police, you're calling Lala, who does that?
Okay, in this case, they should enjoy their prison break palliaThieves..
After burning down police stations, breaking jails and releasing deadly criminals; after brutally beheading and burning alive our innocent brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers in the police force, who risked their lives day and night to protect ours, after committing all these atrocities, you still have the guts to call the lucky survivors to come and defend you from the menace you created?
No sir! No ma! Enjoy your PalliaThieves in pieces!
May God punish everyone involved in the current horrible situation we are in.. There shall be no peace for the wicked!
I'm just waiting for the person that will come and say "I called police, they did not respond to my distress call".
Pureheart81: My dear people, I live in PH, I have a property in Obigbo and I have friends, workers and relatives residing in Obigbo. I get in contact with them everyday to get updates of happenings there.
The Wike narratives that Ipob are causing trouble in Obigbo always is just a smoke screen employed by him to vent his pathological hatred on the Igbos.
First of all, let me state categorically that I’am not a member, a support or a fan of Ipob because of personal reasons not relevant here. It’s obvious that the majority of IPOB members in Obigbo are from Etche and Eleme, both are in Rivers state.
The main fracas that triggered the mayhem in Obigbo during the peaceful #EndSars protest was caused by the Fulani/ Northern moslem community who confronted the protesters on a Friday after their routine prayers. They chased the protesters with weapons, in a bid to protect their main mosque at Elelenwo axis but were overpowered by the protesters who actually didn’t attack their mosque as expected but inflicted several and severe wounds on the Fulani youths.
Later that night, the Fulanis brought in their deadly herdsmen around Iriebe where the fulanis have a market (yam zone) but the youths of Obigbo and the IPOB came together to resist the herdsmen and drove them away, of course there were casualties on both sides. This culminated into the burning of properties belonging to both sides and spilled over to the burning of the police station at Obigbo when it was seen that the police was on the side of the herdsmen.
Later that day, the Fulani called in the army from Bori camp because the tide was turned against them. It was at this point that Wike took over when some 6 soldiers were disarmed and killed including 3 policemen. Rather than hold the two sides responsible, Wike’s govt hung every thing on the IPOB, criminalized them and declared an indirect warfare on the Igbos, in the name of hounding the IPOB members.
The soldiers have carefully killed many people in revenge and 99% of the main and collateral victims are Igbos. Right now there’s a house to house hunting of Igbo youths in the name of searching for missing military guns. All these are happening within Wike’s imposed total curfew meant to keep the youths indoors for easier capture.
Note that Obigbo is an abandoned LGA in Rivers state, because it is 90% populated by Igbos. There’s no govt presence, no roads, no light, and not even a good hospital or school. This is despite of the fact that there are several oil wells /fields and the popular Afam power station in Obigbo. The scandalous government neglect is deliberate and not unconnected with the obvious fact that Obigbo is igboland.
The nocturnal secret house to house search, arrest and maiming is still on going as many residents are still trapped and couldn’t escape in time.
The outcry for help should continue to high heavens until this govt backed mayhem stops.
Yours is a good account of what happened in Obigbo. I live in Portharcourt, close to Artillery junction and remember how northern youths blocked the Aba road from UBA down to Oil mill. Those of them who tried venturing into Elelenwo were beaten mercilessly. From that moment I knew army would be involved in the matter sooner. The killing of security personnel in Obigbo started about two weeks before the endsars protest with the cold blood murder of a SARS operative. With some hoodlums in that area making some bold statements like, "we don't want to see SARS here". SARS retaliated in a cool covert manner, the residents went to plead with them. That matter was under management before the riot broke out. Actually there had been some elements who because of the nature of Obigbo had taken that as safe haven. Surely these people are not IPOB since they never carried out their activities under the umbrella. I strongly suspect there is a criminal cell operating in that area that are not comfortable with security personnel presence. Army were right to move in, but the way they went about killing at random and house to house picking of young people without any form of investigation was unprofessional and a pure work of unchecked emotions
thebosstrevor1: You see, people that love violence and destruction will always get paid in suffering.
The Major sponsors and organizers of Endsar protest are children of middle class and the rich, some of them see Nigeria as their second home.
One of the sponsors was going to Maldives an expensive tourist destination to go enjoy herself while you suffer. Her claim was that she went through lot of stress, be like say na only her get stress after the destruction.
Anyway, she and her fellow sponsors and organisers will have a beautiful Christmas and new year while you suffer and regret. We were all gathering the little pieces we had after the fall of oil price, now we are in hunger land.
Since you started and ended the protest, how has your life improved instead it has brought more suffering, the cost of goods and services have been increased especially in the South, i believe there won't be Christmas and new year celebrations for many of you.
The children of the Poor after eating all the stuff they stole will soon join in the suffering, you can have a stolen rice but without tomatoes and pepper to cook stew, you are eating ordinary rice.
You say Endsar, government ended SAR now you went to another thing which resulted in destruction, we can all see what is going on now, everybody complaining and crying about the lack of police and the increase in cost of feeding.
If you don't know for every bad action you take, they will be always consequences.
This Endsar have proven that if youths rule this country, it will be destroyed in a year.
Dear Grinch, Christmas is one thing you can't wish away. It will always arrive and will be celebrated at top gear.
LordviccoDaGuru: A follower and great supporter to President Muhammadu Buhari Adaojo Victor has taken to Twitter to slain Nigerians and south African, he wrote;
The President when receiving audience from elders of Katsina on Thursday said "No matter how you do well for Nigerians they will never be contented, but I know I still have youths like my boy Adaojo Victor who knows I have done well for the well being of Nigerians, not the kind of youths ranting protest on the streets today."
Adaojo Victor shared the quote and pictures of the northern elders on a warm visit to the president via his IG page here;
The president does not understand Adaojo's tweet. Little did he know that the guy is referring to his theft of $2.2B as petroleum minister. A man who stole that much in the 70s should be contented.
ofuonyebi: Haba everything bad is now loaded on the head of police nobody remembers any little good the police has done This is one-side and unfair opinion
Don't mind the children of nairaland They don't know how efcc started and how it was initially constituted. They don't know the provisions of efcc act. I wish they will have their wish and remove police officers so we can meet again in 5 years for mileage.
AltMon2: I tried to kill myself two times. I was really depressed - Tiwa Savage Confeses
Nigerian songstress Tiwa Savage has recently confessed in a video of attempting to commit suicide on multiple occasions.
The songstress revealed in an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on ‘Bounce Live Radio’ where she disclosed that she nearly took her own life after she was bullied as a black kid in London. She said she moved to London with her mother at age 10 and also stated that her strong Nigerian assent was being mocked by her friends in school.
In her own words: “I was teased so bad. They used to call me ‘African girl’, ‘Foo foo’, ‘Your food smells’ and so on. It was terrible. It was so bad that I literally tried to kill myself two times. I was really depressed.”
Pope never supported it all and will never. Homosexuality is against what Catholic church know as divine law which cannot be deliberated upon by men. Pope can never attempt to consider thinking about supporting that. In fact he has no such power as long as Catholic church structure is concerned. Even this stupid publication is still a misquote.
oshozondii: *The World Remembers PDP Government's Negligence In Chibok Schoolgirls Abduction - APC*
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a statement on Saturday's rescue of a kidnapped American citizen in Nigeria by U.S. Special forces has decided to rubbish our security services constantly putting their lives on the line to ensure our safety and secure Nigeria's territorial integrity.
The PDP again chooses to play politics with our national security in its tired, baseless and dull attacks of the President Muhammadu Buhari government.
The PDP should explain to Nigerians how its immediate-past administration handled the 2014 abduction of 276 Chibok schoolgirls.
To refresh the PDP's memory, former British prime minister, David Cameron in his book, For the Record, said the Goodluck Jonathan PDP government was “sleeping on the wheel” when the schoolgirls were abducted.
It is on record that that PDP government did nothing for two weeks after the Chibok schoolgirls abductions dismissing it as a grand political conspiracy while the schoolgirls were continually held and their families suffered in anguish.
While the PDP still refuses to take responsibility for the tragedy up till now, the same PDP government rejected the British offer to help in the rescue of the Chibok schoolgirls.
Combating terrorism and other emerging cross border crimes require international collaborations and assistance when necessary.
As Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria's Armed Forces, President Buhari swore a constitutional oath to protect lives and property of citizens.
The president has consistently demonstrated that resolve throughout his administration. President Buhari's reactions and actions after the similar and unfortunate Dapchi schoolgirls kidnapping is a pointer to how a responsive government should act.
APC want to show PDP that they(PDP) do not hold monopoly of incompetence. That APC can be much more incompetent. therefore PDP should not do shakara with their incompetence.
When I tell people that NDA is not a school of quality learning some will argue. Just look at the response from an army officer to questions concerning such a serious matter. It drips of ignorance. Nigerian army is no different from NURTW
perragy: Was He not supposed to work in the first place?
My brother, they don't normally work. So e dey shock us when government do better thing. Na only bad news dey normal for Nigeria. When you speak up they term you a hoodlum
Wike promised he will finish it in 18months but the work has be completed in 11months. That of artillery junction which is longer is undergoing load testing now. I'm sure it will be done in 1 month max. I'm impressed
King44: before I point out some facts to you, I would like to let you know that you are a criminal same way you accused others that are not in line with your views.
They police were the architect of their own destinies, they killed people with/without provocation when it got hot.
They stood and supported the hoodlums to attack the protesters and when it got hot some other hoodlums turned on them so they are a victim of the monsters they made.
When did supporting/assisting criminals and not doing your job you were paid to do became conducting oneself in a professional way.
If you see wickedness and you can't condemn it you are also wicked.
What the hoodlums did to the police was so bad and condemnable but who made them? Who gave them free hand to operate? Who aided them?
Let's be sincere for once
There were casualties in but sides but the civilians had more than enough casualties while the police had just 28
There were extrajudicial killings which lead to the genuine endsars protest. The matter at hand was the protest and the riot. It was not police that brought the thugs that attacked the genuine protesters in Abuja, It wasn't police that brought the soldiers that shot the protesters at toll gate. The questions you'll ask yourself are, was any SARS operative killed in the riot? Was any soldier among those that operated at toll gate killed in the riot? A rational being does not mete out revenge for another man's offence on another. Processes are on to bring those culpable in police brutality to book and we are hopeful they receive their due punishment. Anything besides that is mere criminality and barbarity.
Bokoharam was formed during Obasanjo regime. He sent soldiers to their camp somewhere around Geidam in Yobe state and killed about 300 of them Yusuf luckily was not present. The group died down due to the set back. It took them some time to rise again. The killing of YUSUF was in response to the attack and killing of 5 policemen in Potiskum and 2 in another location I can't recall at the moment.
Oby was in government at the time of these event so she know better. May be the woman talking about the population of smokers isn't wrong anyway
Police is totally blameless in all that went wrong in this very protest and the riot that followed. Police conducted themselves professionally and never did anything to disrupt the protest. If we members of the public claim to be better people then we should equally acknowledge the truth no matter who is saying it. Attack on police was unprovoked and it was carried out by criminal and supporters of criminality both online and offline.
Osimhen need to work on his temperament. I watched their last match against Benevento. He was picking fight with all the opponents including the referee. He should be calming down.
