PoliticsRe: Why Was AISHA BUHARI Absent At The Presidential Inauguration Dinner? by batuphil(m): 7:51pm On May 29, 2015
If you think of it.. First lady position is just another scam for presidential family to earn double income.. This is not an official position but rather a wife position to support husband. Only God know how much Madam GEJ earn with all those campaign and trips etc..
Its like being a bank manager and want your wife to get paid also just because you are the head of an organization.
Am not again women working if they want but milking the system at the cost of other citizen is never a good prectice..

Wishing Buhari all the best and Pray that May he continue to follow God direction that will lead Nigeria to the promise land.
TV/MoviesRe: Film House Cinema, Heritage Mall Razed By Fire In Ibadan! by batuphil(m): 3:00am On Jan 12, 2015
This is so sad..

This is one place that give hope whenever am in ibadan for relaxation other than beer parlor.

Shame on Nigerian Government for not having a fire department. But when there is no government water supply how would the Mall even have the resource for sprinkler or maybe they should have dig kanga like everyone else.

This is a real big loss and very sad indeed.

I will guess electricity shortage will be main cause, Mr NEPA bring and takes light whenever they want. Shame on Nigeria for no water and Electricity. Hope una open your eye and think deep before you vote again.

Yoruba people will say "orisa boo le gbe, leave me as you met me".... if one government no do you good, choose another. Am not saying NOT campaigning. smiley
PoliticsRe: Buhari - A Secondary School Drop Out (Joined Army Before Final Year Exams) by batuphil(m): 2:37am On Jan 12, 2015
Last time I read that GEJ have a degree on Zoology.. I guess that's all he need to rule a country. Zoology of all degree in the world.

Now question is would you rather vote for a guy that join the military to sacrifice his life for his country and who actually serve his nation or vote for a guy who went to school to study how to treat animals?
With his education on treating animals, GEJ ruled the country for 6 years and still no electricity or government tap water, because in reality animal don't need electricity in the wild and they drink from any source of water.
I am not an animal to be rules by Zoologist.

I honestly don't care if Buhari go to school or not, all i want is someone who will provide Electricity and water.. I cannot even estimate how much I paid on petrol / Generator.

Rest of the world is enjoying gas/petrol at the lowest but Nigeria petrol price remain the same.. this is a nation full of crude oil but rather export.. what kind of country and leadership is this?

Thank you very much for your input. Please what do you mean by Qs?

I think only a Qs can give him best advice in respect to cost
PropertiesLooking For Builders Advice And Cost Estimate by batuphil(op): 10:25pm On Sep 19, 2014
Nairalander,

Good day y'all,

Please I need you input on this project am thinking of starting.

I have 1.5plot of land in a well developed area in Ibadan and am thinking of building 3 flat/apartment bungalow of 2 bedroom, 2 toilet, 1 shower, 1 sitting room, 1 dinning room, 1 kitchen and storage in each flat.

This land had already been fenced around and there is borehole water supply already on the land.

I intend to build this for rental purpose not for personal use.

This is where I will need you help.
1. I will like to know an average cost, start to finish on this type of project from foundation to painting.
2. I will like to know time frame or say how long it will take if I make it a non stop project.

Your input will be highly appreciated.

Thank you.
TravelRe: Please Help, I Need Go Back To Nigeria. by batuphil(m): 3:53am On Jun 09, 2011
I will think Nigerian embassy should give you an emergency travel authorization (ETA) or whatever its called, its a one piece of paper for you to show when you arrive in Nigeria. Last time I checked you dont have to see UK immigration on your way out of the country but am not sure if thats still the same, so I will think you need to clear yourself out at the Nigerian Embassy / House pretty much.

Car TalkRe: Stolen Cars From Usa End Up In Nigeria. by batuphil(m): 7:29am On May 05, 2011
Have always wondered what people who commits these evil act in tarnishing Nigerians image feel everytime they are being singled out as a Nigerian?
One question I answered pretty much everyday is "Where are you from?". Many will love you for your accent while some will take a deep breath trying to find a way far from you just because you said "Am from Nigeria". I have always been proud to say am a Nigerian not until the day I had an awkard moment right after my answer.
I just hope that all these guys ruining Nigerian image abroad can be used as an examples for others to come. This problem is everywhere not just in US but I hope and pray that someday we will be able to stand up proudly while holding our green passport.
AutosRe: Where Is Larryshow4u by batuphil(m): 6:48am On Apr 18, 2011
@Inspired, Chairman, please dont close this thread yet.

@AceJam, I will advise you click back and read this thread from the beginning. You are wrong from the start buy jumping into conclusion all to tarnish Larryshow4u's image which is not right. You dont have to apologize but just back off will be enough. I am not sure if you are a dealer but any dealer will understand delay could happen at anytime especially when you trying to please a customer. A dealer that deliver thousand of naira worth of car will deliver couple of 100 naira worth of Wheels. Its pure common sense not a rocket science.
AutosRe: Which One Of This Two Cars Should I Buy? Pls Advise! by batuphil(m): 10:06am On Apr 17, 2011
Forget cost and buy what you really like. If you love what you drive you will have the motivation to maintain it.
Japanese cars are excellent but if you don't like it even repairing a flat tire will seems too expensive for you.
No one can gautantee a machine because you never know until it actually happens.
So go for what you love.

@Kunle-A,
Thank you very much for your detailed information.
But in your opinion do you think Pre-Order from USA and buying in Nigeria from a dealer who
imports from the USA should be same price?
I requested pre-order price info from some dealers on NairaLand and all am getting is exact same price as
cars that are already in Lagos. Just not sure if thats how its suppose to be.
AutosPre-order From Usa Or Cotonou Or Tokunbo? by batuphil(op): 12:36pm On Apr 04, 2011
I've been wondering, which route is the best way to get a good deal when buying a car.

Pre-Order from USA or Cotonou or Tokunbo? Which one is more cheaper?

Have been looking through NL and it seems like price quotes on Pre-order from US is the same as Tokunbo that is already in Lagos.
I thought Pre-Order should be more of saving option. I didn't see much price quotes from Cotonou based on what I want.

Can somebody help me with some understanding please.

Thank you.

@ amdman, @ vomogobal, @ Natudu, @ bros856.

Thnx guys, as i said that is my option which is what am leaning on. I will be coming during summer time so when I get closer to my departure date, i will be more aggressive in securing a deal before arrival. Now seems a little early for me, I was just trying to advice "Ozin" see if he will consider that.
I will surely keep you in mind. Thank you.
AutosRe: My Car Tint Put Me In Trouble. by batuphil(m): 6:38am On Mar 26, 2011
Good advice. Now i know. Wasting my time is what I hate most about Nigerian Corps. You can never win. You either loose your valuable time, if not your car or some naira. so,
Its better safe than sorry.
Car TalkRe: Car Rental In Abuja,akwa-ibom by batuphil(m): 6:22am On Mar 25, 2011
I have been thinking of the same thing you are trying to do. I have never heard of a Car rental in Nigeria without a Driver. I heard car rental comes with Driver and both have to be return to their office each day, so I guess NO PRIVACY. My second option is to buy a good clean car from a dealer who is willing to buy it back from me after three weeks on negotiation / agreement. You might want to consider that. So even if I end up loosing 100k - 200k. I am ok.

AutosRe: Advice On Importing A Right Hand Drive Car by batuphil(op): 11:25am On Dec 08, 2010
sonety2k:
IF you import Right Hand Drive sars / suv / truck to Nigeria you have to do the Conversion after 3months and you could easily do the conversion at Promise Land in Ladipo , Lagos and which type of Car / Suv are you bringing to Nigeria or you can sell the Car in Japan your self

And Let me get you a nice Car / SUV of your choice from USA on Pre-Oreder
Thank you much.
I was thinking I might save a little if I bring what am using now, since I will be in Nigeria for just 3 weeks that way I can get something else when I get back here.
If I can get more info on Conversion, I will really appreciate otherwise preorder might be the way to go.
My car is called Nissan Fuga in Japan and Infinity M35 in the states. Interior is exact same Only difference is driving side. I will attach pic. If you think it can't be dont in lagos then we can talk on preorder.
AutosRe: Customs Men Who Impound Cleared Vehicles On The Road by batuphil(m): 11:05am On Dec 08, 2010
My question is "do they have any computer system that actually verify on the highway that you've under pay?" or what if you loose receipts somehow,
How do we do a legal registration and get a license plate on a car that wasn't fully cleared?
Am sorry to say but illiteracy will make most armed service men harass civilian until
they actually get the 'egunje" they were after.
Custom will not provide proper channel on spot to get your papers right when they pull you over instead
they lobby for negotiation on bribes,

The whole problem is just from the top, May God help us

Inspired I wish you a quick recovery and will join others in prayer. You can't afford to be sick and sickness is not your portion in Jesus name. Amen. We all miss u.
