In order to gain excellence, we need to acquire attributes of eagles. Eagles are among the largest and most powerful birds in the world. Eagles have been noted as symbols of strength, bravery and courage. Eagles and hawks are said to have the keenest sight of all, and can sight their prey while soaring high in the sky. The eagle has longest life span of its species. The severe flight of an eagle and its love for freedom holds its kingdom high above the reach of other survivors. You partially right. However, most of these attributes remain with us where we marry our soulmates. Original feeling is different from fake ones. Where one marries one's soulmate, both of them are good and natural about being lovers for years despite challenges in marriage. Commitment and sacrifices from both sides add value to the relationship for personal satisfaction and fulfilment. |

Thanks everybody. We spent about an hour from 2am to 3am before we can rescue the dog. It was so easy for him to put his snout and head inside the 8 by 7 inch hole. But to remove is wahala. After several attempts, we lift the 4 legs up, turn him round 180 degrees, press the two ears back and push little by little until it is out. We hope he has learnt his lesson. Anyway we relocate him to another area pending the time he will be like 3-4 months. I appreciate everybody for your concern and contributions. |
This two months old dog get stucked while trying to come out of his cage. We have tried all angles ![]()

It is easier for female students to change their names in the course of a programme when compared to males. It is advisable you complete your degree programme with your current names including NYSC. Then go ahead, advertise in national dailies and swear to affidavit on reasons for the change of name, then you use the new names for job searching. |
NwaNimo1:You are very correct. I am sure Dangote and the likes will key into it. ![]() |
Between ASUU strike, Ignorant students and unappreciative parents is it time for ASUU to change its Ideology? By Dr. Abdelghaffar Amoka I have read several comments from students and parents calling ASUU greedy who is always asking for money. They think all these billions ASUU is asking from the government is shared among the Lecturers. It is either they have refused to read all the publications on why ASUU is on strike or they can't comprehend it. The last time the salary of Lecturers was reviewed was in 2009 and unfortunately since then, ASUU has never demanded for salary increase. A graduate Assistant net salary is less than 95k and a Professor net salary is about 350k. The rest of us falls in between. Lecturers salary would have surely been increased if the strike is for increment and the Government is even more willing to increase salary than fund the universities to be good for the masses. The declaration of ASUU strike after exhausting all engagement avenues for the past 10 years has being on adequate university funding and not salary increment. When ASUU started the struggle, they seems to have adopted the Communism ideology rather than the Welfarism approach like most other unions. They believe every Nigerian should have access to affordable quality education. A lot of them experienced what education was like up till 80s before it crumbled during the military and as a result they took up the tough challenge to make government fund our university education to regain the lost glory. And unfortunately our students and graduates termed their Lecturers greedy for forcing government to properly fund the universities as they established more. Those expansions you see in BUK aside the CBN funded International Institute for Islamic Banking and Finance was achieved with TETFund and NEEDS Assessment. All the new structures you see in ABU aside the CBN Centre of Excellence, are all TETFund and NEEDS Assessment funded. The same applies to other universities. The State governments now site universities and use TETFund to develop the structures. That would not have been possible without ASUU strike. ASUU strike forced government to establish the TETFund after 2009 strike and NEED Assessment came up after 2013 strike. And ASUU did not just push for the establishment of TETFund, they also suggested how to generate funds for TETFund. And the salaries of the supposed "Greedy Lecturers" have not changed for 10 years. Meanwhile, it appears that all what parents and students want is just the certificate. They are not bothered about the quality of the degree. So, why fight for quality education for someone who do not think the fight is necessary? There are 4 stakeholders in education. The Government, the Lecturers, the students and the parents. Since FG don't wish to fund education and the parents and students don't see anything wrong with FG prioritizing education, maybe we need to start telling ASUU NEC to change ideology and forget this Communism ideology that is attracting more enemies than friends. It is time to adopt the Welfarism ideology. University Lecturers as human capital developers are as important as CBN workers. We should fight for the review of the salary of Lecturers to be made equivalent to what they earn at CBN, allow tuition to be introduced by government for only those that can afford it. Who ever want his kids to go to the university and can't afford it should go for bank loan. With that the students and parents will appreciate ASUU's struggle but by then it may be too late to change the hands of time. It will be in the best interest of the students, parents and the country to join ASUU to fight this fight. If we define our priorities well, rather than renovating NASS with 37b naira, spend billions to put up administrative buildings and purchase exotic cars for Legislators and Executives, the fund is there to revitalize the universities to such a standard that they will be able to generate funds for themselves. |

sultaan:Thanks very much Sir. I am very interested knowing availability of spare parts for both Forester and Santa Fe in Nigeria. |
seanfer:The one I tested was with 2.7L engine, 170 horsepower @ 6000 RPM, AWD. The AC was very crispy and responsive. The engine was peppy and the ride had road manners. The only snag was the engine noise was a bit high for me like 2.4L RAV4. I guess it was the way it was tuned. Not many people will like this. |
I test drove a 2004 Santa Fe with 2.7L engine today.. it picked and drove like RAV4. If not for the badge, one could almost mistake for a Japanese |
