Any good mechanic could help you out. I purchased 1.5" coil springs for FJ CRUISER /4runner. The coil spring is usually 5-6 steps.
No need to change the adaptive suspensions (shocks) if they are still okay. If not, you can disconnect and change to manual shocks for either prato or 4 runner. This is 2016. Am still enjoying my ride.

This caused the blue bus to ram into the back of the taxi. Ideally the impact should not be snuff to lift it up from the back but I've been told bad shock absorbers can do that, and the black SUV also coming at top speed had no choice than to ram under the lifted bus.
I guess it all boils down to too things: over speeding and following too closely. Its only in Nigeria that you're insulted and called a learner for allowing 'too much space' between you and the vehicle in front.

Yes. You are correct. It was raining heavily when I got there. The first victim and possibly the person who caused the multiple accident must have escaped. Nobody was there as at 5pm with the heavy rain.

You must not switch off the engine because all the electricals will cease to function, e.g. the braking system, abs, traction control and power steering (could lock) will stop working and this would be your undoing!

2. How many occupants were in vehicle? Between 6-7?
3. Why the minister and his family died, others survived? Where were they sitting before the sad event?
4. At what likely speed did the tire burst and the vehicle became uncontrollable?
5. What burst the tire ?
6. All the airbags were seemingly deployed. But it seemed some occupants were flunged out.
7 What happened to the traction, abs, vsc etc. Were they problematic?
8. Is the driver under some influence?
9. Was the vehicle overloaded?

2 stroke oil has been added to diesel for long to lubricate and prolong some parts. But users must be very careful about this with modern diesel engines.

Hello fellow nairalanders.
A friend of mine was interested in a black 2006 VW Passat 2.0 TDI with manual transmission. Since i have little or no experience with this model of car, i decided to bring it to the public court.
1. How reliable is this car?
2. Are there specialists mechanic in Ibadan and Lagos axis on diesel engines of volkswagen cars?

Make sure you open all the air vents on the dashboard. At times, it will whistle if one of them is closed. This is common for 1996-1999 camry model.

I only know of a guy in mechanic village in bodija, Ibadan.

I just sourced for 2003/2004 coil springs in Ladipo market in Ikeja axis of Lagos.

My brother, the ride height is not affected, the feeling is better, the speed and maneuverability is better than before. I have no single regret. I have lead foot. And i enjoy maximum speed on good road. On rough roads, the SUV still performs her job excellently.
I don't just take decision on anything like this.
I believe in empirical data. I spent almost two months on gathering evidence on the practicability of this project.

Like i said earlier. This is GX470. It shares almost the same chassis with Prado GX, 4runner, tundra and sequoia.
Looking through websites abroad, i discovered that many people are no more buying the tubes under GX470 because of its unpredictability.
Hence, there are two choices.
1st Blistein coil springs and shocks (if the shocks are bad)
2nd Coil springs from 4runner.
I chose the 2nd choice since my shocks are OK.
When GX470 is fully balanced and in normal mode the pressure balloons stand at 1.5inch height. So, you lose nothing with the 1.5 inch coil springs. It is 6 step coil spring.
With industrial jack, we lifted one side up and removed the tire. We parked up the side, remove the tire,and disconnected the shock and removed the balloon. Replacing instantly with the coil spring, connected back the shock wire harness and fixed back the tire.
We did same for the other side. Good to go.
The small jack you see was used to free in the coil springs.
i could recollect that both springs cost #8000.
Workmanship #2000.
i supervised everything with the steps downloaded from websites.

I appreciate all your worries and contributions.
it is about 4 months I have put the springs in my GX. I enjoy the ride. It is balanced and no visible over steer. No fear of balloons going bad. No single complain. It does not affect the shock absorbers and handling. Am happy with it. There are so many DIY modifications happening abroad. Let think outta box and appreciate our own ingenuity.

2004 BMW X3 has better driver experience. However, the interior of BMW is of cheap leather. Low reliability.

Am sure you will get change from 2003 RX300, 2003 BMW X3 and Benz E class. With the little change, you will register the car and fix little things like servicing. Am sure you will not spend beyond your budget line.

2 million naira is not too much to buy a pre owned car that will fit and bolster your status.
Just have it in mind that you buy a good car that will last you for at least 3 years so that you can think and plan towards other things like getting a good land in a good location.
