Yes, Canada is not just taking our young people, they are taking the fattest of our crops, the best, the brightest, and the brainiest!

Not just Canada, but the US, Germany, Ireland, the UK, Australia, etc.
The colonialists think ahead of the black man, their subjects. When Obama, Clinton and the UK were helping to topple GEJ in a bloodless regime change in the connivial of Nigerians from the North and South West, you think they hadn't seen this brain drain coming? Germany and Ireland, I am told from very reliable sources, were complaining that the IT industry, which had many Nigerians, had seen Nigerians relocate back to Nigeria leaving their families in Germany and Ireland because of the economic policies of the previous government. The NHS was loosing Drs from Nigeria.

Don't blame the colonialists. This is a capitalist dog-eat-dog system. Blame the Nigerians that helped topple the last government and brought in an inept and clueless and lifeless regime.
oh God here we go again.

One of them is my friend, Olufemi, (not real name). He graduated top of his class and best in the entire university! Nine years after graduation, he got married to his equally cerebral lawyer wife, and they both had fairly paying jobs that admitted them into the struggling middle class in Nigeria. A year after marriage, Olufemi, disillusioned by the state of his family’s finances, the situation in the country and the underutilisation of his skills, and intellect at his place of work, sold all his assets and relocated his young family to Canada!

@op you tried to make sense but at the end end up with nonsense.
what you wrote down there is not a joke,we are facing massive exodus of professionals and middle class out of this country everyday, take it for example where i worked 70% peeps here are processing their Canada package its not a joke and if care is not taken, this country will be left with extremely rich people and very poor people because the middle class are all gone.

The fact is things are not improving in this country instead getting worst daily, what you can afford last year it is already triple this year, inflations and government policies are not helping average nigerian.

the country is mainly set up fo the Elits, how many elections have we had and tell me the major impact we have achive.is it in health sectors, educations or infrastructures, things are getting worse and it's the ripple effect of bad leaderships and irresponsible of our political leaders.
expect more to move,to europe and canada not Usa because that's a racist country for now.

why wont i move, what am i enjoying in the country,4hrs daily on road due to traffic caused by port holes that is supposed to be maintained by failed government,is it the health sectors or the educations,i advised youth or responsible citizen to move to avoid stories that can touch the heart.

When my sister went to deliver in the US, the boys behavior was horrible. My sister told my aunt that if he doesn't send his son over to naija, that the boy will be lost. Then he was around 10years.

The parents agreed to that. He was brought back to do secondary school here. Our family put him in a very good boarding secondary in Enugu. Haha the boy was disciplined naija style. They used to call him Americana because of his accent in school. He did js1 to js 3. Then went back to US.
He is around 17 now, very well behaved.

The Presidency has described as untrue the Financial Times report suggesting that Nigeria has placed restrictions on importation of agricultural products into the country.

News Agency of Nigeria reports that the article, with the headline, ‘Muhammadu Buhari sparks dismay over policy on food imports,’ was published on August 15, alleging that the Buhari administration had placed embargo or restrictions on food imports.

“We look forward to the next installment of M. Munshi’s bizarre and puzzling article series.” he said.

We met in school during my pre-degree and dated for 7 years before he proposed to me. Before the proposal, both our parents had been pestering us to get married and start having children.

We started trying 6months prior, and 6 months after proposing I got pregnant. Few months later we did our introduction and got married (registry) march this year.

About two years ago, he met a lady where he was supplying his goods. According to him, the lady has been doing everything in her power to push his business. Every time I suspect there was more to their friendship, he always assured me there was nothing, that she's just a friend. sometimes he would even travel with her to Abuja to sell his goods which I had to allow since it was helping his business.

8 months into my pregnancy I noticed a drastic change like coming home very late, he hardly eats at home, he barely talks to memos he's always on his phone. I knew something was wrong and every time I talk to him, he always assured me that everything was fine.

After the delivery and naming of my baby I expected things to go back to the way it was, but it became worse. he changes his phone password almost everyday and still hides his phones from me.

why he got married to me if he already had this in mind. I hate my life right now.
ok this is an unpleasant situations here, but i will advise you not to kill yourself or stress yourself over tis issues.
The man already made his decisions to marry that other lady very irresponsible and selfish of him to do it that way,he should have told you and both of you should have had conversations on this.

all the same dont over stress yourself, things will come back to normal, just move on with your life if you can take it file for divorce.

PoliticsRe: Buhari’s Food Importation Ban Could Drag The Nigerian Economy Into Misery by bayulll011(m): 4:30pm On Aug 15, 2019
No doubt, Nigeria’s agricultural sector is full of potential and there is a large room for growth. While the current administration has introduced several policies to help improve food security, not much progress has been recorded and the government should address this.

- According to global hunger index (GHI) 2018, Nigeria ranks 103 out of the 119 qualifying countries with a score of 31.1. This means Nigeria suffers from a level of hunger that is very serious.

- A closer look at GHI report shows that Nigeria is worse off in hunger index between 2000 and 2018.

- Nigeria’s fragile economy still manages to import more Agric. products than export. This means that the current domestic production cannot meet demands.

- While FOREX restriction on food importation is laudable, the government needs to carefully work on the gradual implementation of the policy in order not to heap more misery on the economy.

True, when food the most basic human need of man is available then productivity and innovation will flow...
we are a long way from solving hunger in Nigeria (not even hidden hunger yet). Not with the level of nepotism, greed and corruption in the country.. you can imagine local governments buying inferior farm machineries or embezzling the money... Where are the roads or railways connecting farming communities to industrial areas...
Even in dispensing soft loans and grants for agro-allied businesses there's still magomago..
After harvest how many other new foods do we process and export? When you go to all local markets you see fruits and vegetables rot and thrown away daily
you are very correct,i was forced to believe Africans don't have the capacities and mentality to always do the right thing.
Innovations and idea generation rules the world now,no wonder the western world will always be at the forefront of any development.
Nigeria case is a peculiar one,i was hoping things will get better but sincerely it won't because there are no INSTITUTIONS that can make things work here, many people run abroad not just because is better of over there, but simply because their institutions works, the government has made it as a point of duty to innovate add value to the populace, therefore you don't need to worry about roads, housing, health and all you energy will be channel towards developments and adding values, but in Nigeria you think a lot.

It is an unhealthy situations we find ourselves sincerely and have stop raising my hope or believe it could get better, cos how many elections have we had now, still the same old people, same Elite wining and smiling to the bank always.

True..
Food security is when everyone has reliable access (physical, geographical and financial) to quality nutritious food at all times..
Massive increase in food production doesn't translate to food security.. ( there are pre & post-harvest losses, factors impeding food processing and preservation, roads from farms to markets/processing plants are bad or non-existent )
Giving a bunch of children school children food doesn't translate to food security...
Having some people doing well in agriculture doesn't translate to food security
High rate of unemployment...
What percentage of the population afford highly nutritious food daily
Let's not even talk about the killer herdsmen/bandits destroying farms
Nice comment there.
been awhile av seen a lady with Sense here in the forum,
the western world already solve the problem of hunger and africa don't not understand the important of food.
average african is not healthy and lacking one nutrition or another, nigerian generally is an unusual country,a country with loads of plenty arable land, with 80% youthful youth that can work and some unfortunate less than 9% holding us to penury, what a shame.

we have a long way to go in this country when its come to critical reasoning.
CBN been independent body does not mean it does not answer to the presidency,it is independent in carrying out his duty without interference from other publics holders.

CBN is answerable to commit to the law of the land by implementing policies that will developed the nations couple together with the directives of the executives,in as much i don't rate the president,he can formulate policies and ideas that can develop the nation and tell Cbn to implement it.

The man is completely out of touch cos he should have sent a communique to Cbn governor not issuing statement only when he deem fit,not surprised though that's the typical mentality of african leaders, they are completely clueless when leadership is concern.and we are still suffering from their abysmal leadership.
