My opinion is let's ECOWAS leaders sit down and have a round table talk use your sense please. we export good out of Nigeria yes through the proper channel why can't they do same. you all complain of unemployment and here is someone that want to improved our productivity you lot still complain. if you want to import into the country use the appropriate channel not just dumb all goods that will not help our economy. ECOWAS has it's laws, rules and regulations on things like this. Bubu as usual, didn't consult anyone and ran to close borders. Be supporting him. Bubu has no plan B for Nigerians trust me. yeyeosoronga: Time to re-evaluate your marriage and life If you're so unhappy in the marriage, perhaps a separation will help clear your head? The times you have no arguments, are you happy with him? I'm sure you guys don't argue 24/7. But if you do, that marriage is almost completely dead.
If you can still manage him, avoiding arguments as much as possible then do so. If however you are so unhappy, as some relationships can drain the life out of you that you feel committing suicide might even be a better option, then go for a separation to clear your head. A separation might be the time to decide if it's worth going back or moving on finally. i only read your comment then am forced to say something because i never wanted to quote any of the reply here. I can only talk here when i hear the husband side cos emotionally i can never conclude my words on what one persons narrate here. are you saying they didn't court at all,she never saw any of red flags in the man, does she continually do something that irritate the man, does she boast about her wealth to the man,and precise she sounds like an authoritarian that want to eat her cake and have it also wanna keep it in freezers. |

one of the simple Difference between Civilised and UnCivilised Countries is the Ability to Police who is Policing you, and to have Authority over who is having Authority over you...
Take for instance, Nigerian Police Force, they weild so much power that they dont have any policing or monitoring done on them except for some few department within the police it self, In sane climes, the Justice Department in collaboration with another Agency has a beruea that investigate and discipline police officers
Private Universities.. Atleast LeadCity that i know of, has a Quality Control Department that oversees all activities of the lecturers.. and offer recomendation based on performance and general conduct to the management.. this alone make even the most rascal Public University lecturer behave with manners when they take up lecturing jobs at Leadcity
Just imagine the rascality that would have being going on here on Nairaland if we dont have Moderators that can ban you till 2037 when you must have grown sense ... just simple if there is no check and balance in this Life we turn to jungle. our laws are only meant for the poor, the poor will continue to be poor while the rich will be richer |

Samolaogun: So I got married to my wife 10 years ago. She was 24 at the time and now we are blessed with 2 kids. My wife has always been one of those self centred all about her looks type of person but I just ignored it and saw the good side of it. After two kids and at 34 my wife still looks very good, I guess that’s one of the perks of marrying young.
She is still stubborn and she hasn’t changed. Im fed up of her attitude I’m thinking of separating from this woman before she gives me high blood pressure. She’s not a homely wife at all. All she wanna do is go out, to even attend to the kids effectively is now becoming a problem. I’m tired. Obviously you are completely delusional. you saw all this before you got married to her and that pretty shapes and faces was the one you fell in love with. i always tell people there are some red flags you need to run away from in relationship. there is a lady presently am dating, she's so self centered, before i say A she already get to Z,she love arguing, she can nag,she doesn't listen yes she got good shapes and figures, will i continue with her Hell NO cos those are the red flag you need to run from any lady. unless you wanna divorce, you either Tolerate her or ignore her |

ariketalks: Someone sent this news to me and i did a little research. Apparently, this village has witnessed significant population decline in recent times. More so than it has in 90 years. The causes? Emigration of able bodied youths in search of greener pastures, as well as the death of a pretty significant percentage of the village's population. This may seem like "the" opportunity on the surface but certain things call for concern.
1. What has been causing the death of the natives? 2. If the government was so concerned about natives emigrating, why not empower them to make them stay? Why foreigners? 3. €700 seems like a lot of money because of the disparity in the value of the Naira in comparison to the Euro. I learnt cost of living for natives is between €300 - €700 a month. That doesn't seem like a lot of money in my opinion, especially when you are mandated to set up a business from the said allowance.
I am not trying to rain on anyone's parade. All i'm saying is "look before you leap".
you have a very good point. if the government is so disturb about the declining populations, all they need to do is set up a manufacturing companies, geographic locations shows it is not a landlocked area.so i would have expect the government there to explore options that can attracts people to live there. all thing said, people give it a shot because that place is far better than living in lagos |

Antinatalist: I still remember the way this woman fought hard during the Chibok girls saga. To an average Nigerian, the only form of protest they respect is cancelling a meeting or a show. Whether you're going to to address the issue, they don't care, just do your eye service and cancel the show so that they can be happy.
I know this is not the right time to bring this up, but people should never be quick to forget how we treated Ghanians in the 80's. The "Ghana Must Go" movement was so xenophobic that almost all foreign countries in Europe and Asia called it the "Height of human rights violations". We maltreated Ghanians and reduced them to second class citizens. Scores of people died and lost their properties.
Even the " Ghana Must Go" bag we manufactured just to spite and shame them is still in use today. Is that not the height of Xenophobia? Do we have any Right to called any country Xenophobic if we are to be honest with ourselves?
What is happening now is not peculiar to African countries or black people, the German's did it to the Jewish people, the government of Turkey did it to the Armenians, etc. .
I expected the President to attend that event and use that opportunity to dialogue with SA leaders. The youths will always be mischievous and the bad ones among them will definitely highjack the event to loot for their selfish interest. It is only intervention from the government that can end this madness not lip service and media trials. you are very correct |

madridsta007: lol. You speak from the place of repeated propaganda. And everyone understands how that works.
The facts and present realities say something different. Research shows that migration is largely driven by economic reasons. There are other factors- from war to crop failure to disease outbreak. But these factors are variable; economic reasons has been the constant of them all.
If the economic situation in Nigeria, regardless of who is in charge, is at the same level of the previous government or better, brain drain would not spike this high. If it is worse, as it is currently is, the middle class will move. It is this simple. Look at the current crop of Ministers, persons who are policymakers. How many technocrats are there, let alone, world-class technocrats? You have politicians in charge of Ministries. In a 3rd world country. Really? Hahaha! I laugh. Nigeria is a funny country. Citizens like you make it funny.
We can pretend and propagandise everything. But the statistics show that doctors, pilots, scientists, etc are fleeing Nigeria. Again, we can pretend and deceive ourselves, but facts is facts. sincerely you are deluded. i know that one in abuja is not suppose to be the president in this country but will rate him far better than the drunken masters. me i don't support any politician of what important is that to me if it doesn't add any value to my life. those politician are the same how many elections have we had now,has anything change, that will tell you that they are both irresponsible and cannot add value to you, stop glorifying them |
