They pased mdcn exam. That means they are qualified to practice safely in Nigeria.
Essence of mdcn exam is to ensure foreign-trained doctors understand our health system. Note that Nigeria-trained doctors are also practising in advanced nations. All medical schools virtually use the same curriculum though health system differs. Hence reason for the exams. If you failed the exams you cannot practice safely in the system.
I am not against having our own medicap exam in Nigeria. Do u hav an idea on d number of Nigerians that fail uk medical exam yearly?does that make those Nigerian doctors bad docs?hell no it doesnt.All m saying is dont use NMA exams as a yardstick to test d knowledge n capacity of a foreign trained doctor.
NB:by foreign i dont mean cotonou n niger graduands lol

You are more knowledgeable than some Nigerians. Another is medical technology. Do you know medical microbiologists routinely examine sputum or nasal swab for viral studies in any case of catarrh with or without cough.? How many teaching hospitals have facilities for viral studies? And many cases like that. Availability of medical technology makes medical authorities to determine methods of examining medical students and residents. The saying among doctors you must learn standard of care and substandard of care. Have u heard of management of patients in poor countries? There are protocols for that too.
Foreign-trained doctors must learn how to practice safely in Nigeria.

In my own opinion, the guy that made mention of his wife bn a nurse and him bn an engineer and both relocated and are enjoying their stay there gave a convincing point to counter what the op posted.

Just an example. Do you know what it is called tropical disease? There are many if them. Do you know approach to medical diagnosis and treatment varies from country to country? To you doctors in advanced countries rely more of technology to manage cases while our own doctors rely more clincal judgement and few medical tests available in the country.?
To practice medicine in abroad is very easy? Can you stand Nigerian doctors opening books to check more information on prescription or tests? This is allowed in abroad.

People are selling all their belongings to migrate to dying economies abroad with no jobs.

The Nigerian government should start creating awareness campaigns to educate Nigerians that the grass is not greener abroad.

If anything what is going on is like modern slavery where people are schemed into going abroad doing care jobs like cleaning bum and taking care of old and special needs people.

Still, the earnings from these jobs will be taken from them through high rent, taxes, and penalties.

People have died due to these harsh conditions

People are living in horrible conditions with several families living in the same house and sharing everything including the toilet.

The typical rent in London for one month is the rent for a nice house in Lekki for 1 year

People are renting rooms in houses to live in

People keep to themselves and usually, when a new Japa arrives they think their extended families are hostile not knowing that people keep to themselves due to work and living conditions.

Reality sets in after a while when it has become too late to undo all that they've done and sold to make the move

If people know the realities of these conditions they will not sell all their properties to travel abroad into the unknown

Nigeria is a good country if we can stop complaining and focus on the job of building the nation to its full potential.

The UK has made about $50 Billion from Nigeria in the past 2 years alone and taking unimaginable amount of skilled manpower away to be used in menial jobs

I am telling you about what i know about medical education. Average naija doctors would manage malaria than doctors in developed nations. It is called clinical exposure.

In medical schools, students are expected to use international textbooks. Many of those students are not sound educationally. Some of them couldn't cope academically in private medical schools in Nigeria. They had to attend medical schools in some substandard universities in some third world countries. If they are academically sound, they should try schooling in canada and usa medical schools. In most cases, they would get education loans or scholarship.
