Speak with one voice? Your head is stuck so far up your own arse that it has began to smell like roses to you. I lived in Warri when they were fighting. Is it not in the same Niger Delta that the people of Evreni killed their traditional ruler over a squabble? Don't make me laugh.
Who is "they"? Did that fight that "they" where engaged in scuttle true federalism?
So what if an Evreni traditional ruler lost his life? Is that the reason why Nigeria shouldn't either practice true federalism or split.

Go and take panadol, you're mentally tired.

Again your stupidity knows no boundaries. Luxembourg is not an ethnically homogeneous nation. And GDP per capita means income divided by number of individuals. That country has a population of half a million people and an income of $40billion. Even Nigeria makes more money than Luxembourg.
You are funny.
If we look at it very simplistically, a GDP of $40 billion makes even a new born baby in Luxemburg worth $80,000.

Nigeria makes more money than Luxemburg, but while your average Nigerian is wretchedly poor, the average person in Luxemburg has twice as much money as the average American.

. . .Now do you want to talk about stupidity? grin grin grin grin

I do not thinks so. If he is, he would start from his house. Wasnt his wife indicted by EFCC for money laudering? Even his assets are in question. Baggages like that, if not cleared, has a way of slowing one down.
An indictment is a mere accusation, the EFCC never went forward with any case. I am not in any way defending Jonathans wife (I am not sure she is a PDP member anyway). In any event, it all seems weak and circumstancial and possibly a political rumour to weaken his chances in the then bitter fight for the office of VP.

On these very pages we have Ikwerre people cursing out anything Igbo. If we go to Benue state alone, the Idoma and the Tiv can't stand each other. In Edo, the Bini and Ishan hate each other's guts. In Plateau the Langtang, Birom, Jasarawa, Naraguta just to name a few would rather spend their time tearing each other out. In Delta, Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo hate themselve. There is something deeper in this call, but trust some of the lightweights here to call that this be moved to the joke section. If you don't understand the power and influence of the diaspora wings of our political parties, then some re-education is in order.

Mark my words, PDP will either be totally re-organised by Jonathan or he will cause its controlled implosion.

Boboribo, splitting would not make our problems go away. The issue with Timpriye Silva is a classic case of how our problems are not ethnic or religious.
Really? The above is as simplistic as simplistic can get. Are you being mischievous or just naive?

Sylva's case is easy to analyse. The only place the cabal can get huge sums to line their pockets or fight the Nigerian population to a standstill, is the Niger Delta. In the past, we had Ibori, who Aondoakaa travelled the World to defend; today, it is Sylva.
The long and short of the matter, is that the cabal sourced 100 billion stolen oil money to fight Jonathan, Sylva is just the fool flattered by the power the cabal can give him.
The 100 billion fraud fight is another face of Jonathan vs cabal.

Everybody, please mind your own areas and stop bringing up false justifications. Should we split along ethnic lines? YES, if we can't have a national conference, or true federalism at the very least. Nigeria isn't working, so lets quit mouthing inane sentiments.

PDP Urges Jonathan to Probe Looting
From Reuben Buhari in Kaduna, 03.29.2010

The New York branch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Acting President Goodluck Jonathan to properly investigate alleged official looting which was said to have been perpetrated when President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua was away in Saudi Arabia for medical treatment.

According to the chairman of the New York branch of the party, Chief Oluwafemi Sanyaolu, who is also the Chairman, Global Campaign for Africa Democracy, after a meeting with citizens of Nigeria in the United States on the state of affairs of the nation and the way forward, noted that those who took part in such looting should not be included in the new list of ministerial nominees currently before the senate.

The PDP chieftain, who made these known through a signed statement, further alleges that because of the country’s leadership problem during Yar’Adua’s hospitalization in Saudi Arabia and before Jonathan was empowered to act, “Nigerians in Diaspora who are doing business in Nigeria were made to pay $455 extra on any container of goods shipped to the country to a private company in Houston, Texas on behalf of Nigeria, and $370 on every car shipped to Nigeria.”

The PDP stalwart said the ludicrous payment started when the country had leadership problem some months ago and pleaded with the acting president to investigate the issue with a view to ascertaining what went wrong and where the collected tariffs entered.

“What type of a country collects taxes from its citizen in a foreign land, and where do such monies go? Those behind these rip-offs should tell us where such is practiced in the world and if it is in the interest of its citizens in Diaspora? He queried.

On the recurring Jos crises, Sanyaolu said, “the diversity in Nigeria should be a unifying factor binding us together to make us unique with unparalleled and unequaled strength that will keep us ahead as the giant of Africa that is the envy of other nations in Africa and the rest of the world,” and called on the Federal Government to ensure that those behind the scene fuelling the cord of disunity are fished out and jailed.

“We shall all live to be the advocates of a Nigeria that our children and generations unborn will be proud to live in and even those of us in the Diaspora can proudly walk with our head high. That is why we commit our resources and our time to this end, and our children will want to come back to settle in their fatherland, with their brothers and sisters regardless of tribe, religion and culture,” he said.

Thanks jor.  Nigerians aren't lazy. I've seen laziness and I can tell you Nigerians aren't lazy.

Wrong!! Going by your anti Islammic posts here the above post is invalid. Nigerians are hardworking whether Christian or Muslim. Just that we limit our potentials with religious beliefs.
Simple question, if Nigerians aren't lazy (mentally or physically), how come the country isn't developing? How come the average Nigerian lives on less than a dollar a day?

Someone who ties boulders to his shoulders and hauls them up a cliff (after devoted prayers for success) day in day out, is mentally lazy. It doesn't matter how hard he applies himself to his task. In fact, the man I have just described (prayer and all) is little better than a beast of burden.
With a little mental application (as against foolish faith), he would be able to devise a pulley system that would make his task life childs play, with a little more mental application, he could harness a donkey or petrol engine to his pulley system. . . It goes on and on.

Brilliant article.

When I was a kid, one of my uncles who is very successful used to advise us to be suspicious of anybody that seemed religious. As an adult, I have come to see the wisdom in those words, because overly religious people fall neatly into two camps;

[li]Lazy (mentally and physically)[/li]
[li]Evil conmen[/li]

Not surprisingly, the above two factors define todays Nigeria.

cap28: can you not see that your above statement is complete garbage - the constitution is NOT merely a set of guidelines it is a set of principles which set out specifically the way in which a nation is to be governed.  s 1(1)  SPECIFICALLY states that the provisions of the constitution are SUPREME and BINDING on the authorities and persons throughout the federal republic of nigeria,

1(2) goes further to stipulate that no person is to take control of the FGN except in accordance with the provisions of the constitution

1(3) goes on to clarify what should happen if there is any inconsistency between the constitution and any other law basically that the provisions of the constitution shall take precedence.
Just listen to yourself. cry cry cry cry cry
Of course, your interpretation of the constitutions "set of principles" is that the country can be owned by a criminal cabal. Disgrace.

The consitution is not a "set of principles", it is a set of BASIC principles, common sense fills in the gaps. If everyone adopts your approach, very soon people will start asking what punishment the constitution stipulates when a man slaps his neighbour.

There are very good reasons why I gave you the links to both the Nigerian and US constitutions. While the US version is a mere 9 pages, the Nigerian one stretches to about 100 pages; yet if Obama ever stays too long in the loo, Joe Biden would take over seamlessly. It shows where we get it wrong and like I said earlier, it is because of the Nigerian error of aggrandising even petty everyday things; you would rather be attending a birthday "function", instead of simply, birthday party as the whole World knows it; Mr Etim Etuk, would rather you addressed him as Chief Engr Senator Etim Etuk CFR MON QED and any other BS he can make up; you would rather be looking up Section 145, than employing common sense and putting the VP in charge as the constitution makes clear.

The rhyme "For Want of a Nail" is most apt here (I hope you like poetry);

The beginning of a poem that makes the point that a seemingly minor event can lead to significant consequences.
For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
