Please before we jump to concluding this is factual information, can we at least inquire the same newspaper provide the following

a) Names of the so-called Aides.

b) Dates Aaondokaa approved the disbursements

c) Names of the so-called former key members of the Cabal

To date, no one has been manipulated as being a member of this so called Cabal, yet the nation has comfortably accepted they are to blame for it all, and it seems southerners are all too willing to accept that the Cabal are a group of Northerners.
If you don't know the above, then you are ignorant.

Actually you MUST look at Europe. It was THEM afterall who coined the term ''failed states'', and drew up a list for you to read and hate yourself over.

It is only fair that they would apply the same criteria to THEIR OWN NATIONS when they were losing millions to not just war, but dictatorship famine. (Russia lost at least 10 million people to Stalin in peacetime). Italy lost hundreds of thousands to Mussolini. The Spanish dictatorships were  especially brutal, and possibly millions were slaughtered.

WHY did they not term their countries ''failed states'' when all these were happening, only to coin the term when a few hundred Africans are killed in riots?

THAT is a question every sensible African should ask himself, before posting a ''list'' from a private western company.

Or have u no brain??
Is is Europeans that killed 500 women and children in Jos  (massacred by "sensible Africans")? Or was it people of your kind?
Who cares what was lost in Europe? Will that make PHCN provide you with electricity (PHCN is made up of "sensible Africans")? Will that rid us off the cabal (made up of "sensible Africans")? Is it Europeans that steal us blind, so much so that in the North, 80 percent of the population is in poverty?

Foreign Affairs › White Supremacist Leader Killed In South Africa by Beaf(op): 12:04am On Apr 04, 2010
White supremacist leader killed in South Africa

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — South Africa's white supremacist leader Eugene Terreblanche was bludgeoned to death by two farm workers Tuesday evening in an apparent dispute over wages, police said.

Terreblanche, 69, was leader of the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging movement, better known as the AWB, that wanted to create three all-white republics within South Africa in which blacks would be allowed only as guest workers.

The South African Press Association quoted police spokeswoman Adele Myburgh as saying that Terreblanche was attacked by a 21-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy who worked for him.

Myburgh said the alleged attackers have been arrested and charged with murder. She did not further identify the two, who she said have told the police that there had been a dispute because they were not paid for work they did on the farm.

"Mr. Terreblanche's body was found on the bed with facial and head injuries." She said a machete was found on his body and a knobkerrie — a wooden staff with a rounded head — next to his bed.

Terreblanche launched his political career in 1973, amid growing opposition to South Africa's white minority government and its racist apartheid policies, forming the AWB with six other "patriots" of the Afrikaans-speaking whites descended from Dutch immigrants.

Terreblanche reportedly believed the government was making dangerous concessions to blacks and endangering the survival of South Africa's white race.

The AWB was a semisecret organization for years. When it "came out" in 1979, the movement displayed its Nazi-like insignia and declared opposition to any parliamentary democracy.

Terreblanche would arrive at meetings on horseback flanked by masked bodyguards dressed in khaki or black and became a charismatic leader for a small minority that could not envision a South Africa under the democratic rule of a black majority.

At one rally his guards, dubbed "storm troopers" after the Nazis, brandished guns, police batons and knives, prompting the government to announce it was "looking into" the actions and attitudes of the movement.

Terreblanche threatened to take the country by force if the white government capitulated to the African National Council.

After the white government conceded, the ANC overwhelmingly won 1994 elections and has won every election since with more than 60 percent of votes

Before you post a list or index, you must tell us WHO is drawing up the list, so we can know their Agenda.

You cannot simply throw up a list and expect us to trust in it simply because it comes from white people.

The more democratic/official  the institution, such as the UN, or UNESCO,  the more credibility we give to their list.

The group that drew up YOUR ''index'' is called ''Fund for peace'',  a privately-owned company founded by an American investment banker named Randolph Compton.

For clued-up folks here, that throws a whole new light on the list.

Civilians are
civilians and PRIVATE business heads.

we should stop blaming the nigerian government 100% for the lack of jobs.
I suppose they failed to provide the means for businesses to prosper in some states like roads and electricity, but against, in a capitalist economy the government isn't responsible for creating jobs.

it can create various civil service jobs, which it has, but outside of working for the government it's not supposed to create industry. The next nigerian that complains about the government creating jobs should ask himself what jobs has he created for nigerians, because that is his sole responsibility.
Why so many dimwitted articles from you? Firstly, how many non civilians can you name in the current govt or don't you know what "civilian" means?

No zoning - CNPP Urges Jonathan to Run for 2011 Presidential Polls
Peter Duru
2 April 2010

As the next general elections draw near, the Benue State Chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties CNPP, Engr. Baba Agan has urged Acting President Goodluck Jonathan to run for the 2011, assuring that Nigerians would support his aspiration.

Agan noted that any attempt to bar Dr. Jonathan from contesting the next presidential elections by the ruling PDP would be unacceptable by Nigerians who have in the last few weeks felt the impact of his visionary leadership qualities.

The Peoples Redemption Party PRP, National Publicity Secretary who spoke to newsmen in Makurdi stressed that the Acting President should be allowed to continue in office beyond 2011 in order to enable him do more for Nigerians.

According to Agan, Nigerians must not be denied purposeful leadership on the basis of the zoning arrangement describing the zoning plot as the bane of Nigeria's political experiment.

He added that the zoning formula being propagated by the parties to deny quality candidates from contesting elections in the country was not recognized by the constitution hence should be discarded.

He noted that the present realities of the nation's political history does not allow for the enthronement of a new president in the country.

Agan explained that Nigerian must resist any attempted to push the Acting President out of office on the grounds of his geopolitical zone of origin.

He said: "Dr. Goodluk Jonathan has so far not disappointed Nigerians; things are beginning to take shape again in the country and he has shown utmost sincerity in the running of the government hence he should be allowed to contest the next general elections in order to enable him continue with his good works".

"I implore Nigerian to support his emergence because he has exhibited the zeal to take the country to another level of development", Agan said.

The opposition leader also urged the opposition in the country to support Dr. Jonathan in his quest to impact on the people stressing that the administration needs the support of all to excel.

Agan further called on Nigerians to support the emergence of the Acting President in 2011 stressing that all the country needs at this time is tangible development and not the so called zoning gamble.

Politics › Section 144: Yar' Adua Group Oppose Akunyili As Health Minister by Beaf(op): 2:50am On Apr 03, 2010
Section 144: Yar' Adua Group Oppose Akunyili As Health Minister
From Martins Oloja

INDICATIONS have merged in Abuja that there is more to the anger of the 'anti Dora Akunyili group' that were desperate to ruin the aspiration of Professor Dora Akunyili who was not allowed to express herself on Monday as the third ministerial nominee to be screened but has now been (grudgingly) cleared by the Senate.

Senator Kanti Bello (Katsina) had led the pack that mounted a strong opposition to her nomination on Monday when he asked the Professor of Pharmacology tough and hostile question on her description of President Umaru Yar'Adua's kitchen cabinet as "a cabal".

The Guardian learnt at the weekend that the clique that is still desperate to keep the ailing President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua in power through spin on his health, has indeed anticipated that unless the former NAFDAC boss and former Information and Communication Minister is stopped in her track, "she will be sworn in as Health Minister and the office will be critical to the implementation of Section 144 of the Constitution, soon after the new cabinet is sworn in."

Even now, her adversaries have not left the former minister who denied outright that she was part of the cabal and cooked for the President's wife alone. It was learnt that they are fighting to ensure she does not get a particular portfolio she is said to be interested in.

The Guardian learnt that Yar'Adua kitchen cabinet generally believed to have been routed by the acting President's pulling down of their strongholds including the dissolution of the cabinet has not given up as they believe that "Madam Dora who has spoken boldly against them (the cabal) will gun for the Health portfolio that will be critical to the implementation of Section 144 of the Constitution, which deals with "Permanent Incapacity of President or Vice President" and the constitution of "Medical Panel" by the President of the Senate.

It was also gathered this week that, the clique that may not be pacified by any mediator, in the circumstances, had reckoned that it was expedient for them to deal with her (Akinyili) ruthlessly so that she would not show her fervency in the deal that is expected to be one of the first major assignments of the new cabinet to be constituted next week.

"The Opposition to Akinyili is real and deeper than has been expressed, That is the reason they (the clique) have attributed the trouble in Senator Joy Emodi's constituency to even Dora's manipulation so that they can get the Acting President to replace her (Dora) with Senator Emodi just sacked by a Court of Appeal," was the way another source put it even before she narrowly escaped clearance by the Senate.

But now, the opposition to Akinyili is back on the beat to ensure that she does not have the health portfolio especially now that a medical practitioner who was minister of state in the former cabinet has been cleared. Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong is a medical doctor.

Meanwhile, apart from the health portfolio, which Akunyili is said to be suitable for, the race for the Office of the Attorney-General is another keen contest for the three Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) within the rank of nominees at the moment.

While Henry Ajumogobia is generally believed to be a good candidate for the Petroleum Ministry, the emergence of a candidate from Edo, who was until recently a big player in the oil industry Mr. Chris Ogiemwonyi and Mrs. Diezani Allison Madueke who worked in Shell as a director in non-exploration department before she joined the cabinet in 2007 has reportedly changed the colour of competition. Sources said last night that, "if Diezani wants the oil portfolio, she will get it because she is a member of the new clique in Jonathan's new deal in Abuja."

That development as it affects the Petroleum ministry may alter earlier calculation about the Justice Ministry where the three SANs will have to vie for the prestigious Justice Ministry. Ajumogobia was Attorney-General of Rivers State in Peter Odili's administration.

Although it is said that the new nominee from Kogi State, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke too has been eyeing the Attorney-General and Justice Minister Portfolio, the trouble with his nomination now is that the Acting President and the Senate have been told about his relationship with former Delta State Governor James Ibori and Ex Minister of Justice, Michael Kaase Aondoakaa. "Adoke would have been dropped but for the Senate President who has extracted a written confession from him (Adoke) about his relationship with Ibori, generally believed to be very close to the so-called cabal," a source said.

Adoke, Igbira from Kogi, is said to have denied business relationship with Ibori but said he had some link through Aondoakaa as his chamber was used for some professional services between the two: Ibori and Aondoakaa.

Adoke, (SAN), has documented that to the Senate President when President of a Customary Court from his place in Abuja led him to see the Senate President in his residence last weekend before clearance. He reportedly said that it was not that "he was Ibori's lawyer but that his Chamber was a link between Ibori and the former Justice Minister," as a source in the Senate disclosed.

The Senate President was said to have promised "to assist in convincing the Acting President to retain him. That has been done as he has been screened and cleared" was the way the same source hinted us.

In the same vein, another revelation and allegation about a high profile cabinet nominee that has been spiked by the Senate is against Alhaji Murtala Yar'Adua, son of the elder brother to the ailing President who was reportedly blackmailed to reject the nomination.

It was revealed that while the screening was going on that the clique in his family "actually brought up a case against the youngest nominee to the extent that he was recently quizzed in the United States (US) on his alleged link to the Al queda network in the wake of the AbdulMutallab foiled attempt to blow up a Detroit bound plane in December last year. It was said that the junior Yar'Adua travelled to the (US) recently for a medical check-up and was allegedly arrested and released on the intervention of the Nigerian Embassy in the US".

We confirmed that though the young Yar'Adua was indeed quizzed, it was not serious enough to stop his nomination generally believed to have been politically motivated as a master-stroke to deal with the famous "cabal" alleged to be holding his uncle hostage.

As another insider said, "the denouement of the first assignment may result in nomination of the new National Security Adviser, (NSA) General Aliyu Gusau as Vice President while Col Kayode Areh, former Director General State Security Service (SSS) may emerge new NSA if the deal comes through as Yar'Adua's era is confined to history".

mikeansy: But another side of the argument is that we have just a few months before elections and on the evidence of Edo and Anambra, Iwu's INEC has demonstrated a capacity to improve.

A new person will have to learn on the job and with no prior electoral experience (except one of Iwu's staff is appointed) on their back. they are at risk of making the mistakes Maurice Iwu made in 2007. . .
But 80% of Anambra voters were disenfranchised, that and sundry other ills have killed any feeling of confidence in his abilities.
I believe that any new person would do well not to learn anything at all from Iwu or the INEC he led. . . grin Rather, it is necessary to wipe the electoral slate screen and start 100% afresh.

The point I tried to make earlier is that the removal of everything Iwu is key to holding free and fair elections. If done right, the political leaders that will come out of such elections will not be the buyers and sellers of today, but will be truly representative of the peoples wishes. With a better set of leaders, we can then go on to correcting the ills of Nigeria and stamping out corruption and mediocrity.

I do not see anything wrong about Charlie Boy's views on this issue.

I do not also think there is anything wrong that he has chosen to make those views known.

Those who chose to hit the streets to protest Iwu's removal effectively made a counter protest legitimate.

Ultimately its up to Jonathan to appoint someone else or re-appoint Iwu if he likes. But let no one stampede Iwu out of office nor should anyone stampede Jonathan into making a particular decision.
Blaming the INEC Boss for all our electoral missfortunes without taking responsibilities ourselves or recognize that an equal blame goes to politicians, thugs, Police, everybody else; is the height of living in denial.
The bolded is the root of the matter. Personality cults are the new curse of the "nation"; we are yet to heal from the scars of the Yar'Adua/Turai personality cults, yet Charlie Boy and his crew want to create a fresh one around Iwu.
The fact that blame must go to the whole political process must not cloud our view as to what the key to a remedy is. If we have representative voting, the peoples choices (not the current criminals) would be voted in. . . The key to representative voting is electoral reform and the total beheading of INEC.
Without removing Iwu as a necessary prior condition, we will get nowhere with our desire for representative voting.

Anyone here who has little kids would understand why a song like that MUST be banned. It contains lyrics about se xual episode between a married man and his  househelp, ending with the "hero" climaxing without a condom.

Nigeria: Pro-Iwu Group Seeks to Register 15 Million Supporters

In a swift reaction to Wednesday's anti-Iwu protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), hundreds of youths thronged the National Assembly yesterday insisting that chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Maurice Iwu should be allowed to conduct the 2011 general elections.

The youths under the auspices of Alliance for Defence of Democracy (ADD) led by Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere chanted pro-Iwu slogans as they were blocked from entering the vicinity of the assembly. The group said it has commenced registering 15 million supporters for the embattled INEC boss.

Delivering the groups' message in front of the Legislature, Ikenga said "the call for the untimely sack of Iwu by civil society groups and the NLC,  is illegally sponsored, manipulated and aimed at overheating the polity as well as stampeding the ongoing electoral process to pave way for anarchy, "

Ikenga said Iwu is not the problem of elections in the country. He blamed desperate politicians who perpetrate acts of ballot box snatching and use political thugs as the main cause of electoral fraud in the country.

"It must be said that election rigging has never been faulted on Iwu as an individual, neither was the irregularities in INEC register. This is even when the commission has had to fire several of its staff adjudged to have compromised," he said.
