Politics › Re: What Would You Do To Improve Nigeria If You Were The President by Beaf: 9:14pm On Oct 19, 2009
If I was dictator (Maximus Rex) I would:
[li]Bin the constitution[/li]
[li]Institute true federalism and require only taxes from the states[/li]
[li]The punishment for corruption (retrospective) would be death (ceremony paid for by the criminal)[/li]
[li]Education would be compulsory, parents will serve time if their kids skip school for a length of time[/li]
[li]For once, the govt would learn to maintain records and statistics, every thing would be tracseable[/li]
[li]Our official language would be the one spoken by the smallest ethnic group[/li]
[li]A welfare system would be created for the societally challenged[/li]
[li]I would institute programmes to identify the gifted from an early age for targetted education[/li]
[li]I would create competitions, programmes and projects for the gifted to keep their brains ticking[/li]
[li]Sharia and miracle churches will be banned and practitioners jailed[/li]
[li]Road and rail links to every state capital[/li]
[li]Develop inland water ways[/li]
[li]The energy of the ocean would be harnessed for electricty to stop encroachment[/li]
[li]The heat from road surfaces would be harnessed for electricity production[/li]
[li]Every household would have solar concentrators or cells (subsidised by govt)[/li]
[li]All coastal and mountain regions would be developed as tourist attractions[/li]
@okunoba

I agree 100%; my bad about MKO and Murtala instead of ITT.
That whole saga is enveloped in the thickest mist, in fact I don't think the truth can ever uncovered concerning that ITT contract. There's no doubt that something criminal went on (no phones for all that money), but there's a "reason" Nigerian govts hate records and statistics.

So many times in foreign lands, I have been tempted to dodge the bullet. But each time a last reserve of strength has bubbled up from the depths of my soul to wrestle the blighters to the ground. No foreigner born of woman can make me disown my own. I can fly my green white green in the middle of hell.

When I'm in 9ja (or with 9ja's) it is a very different case sha, I take no prisoners cool. I want the country to either practice true federalism or to split for our own good. cool

My state is leagues ahead of yours and every other in areas like infant mortality, immunisation etc. You guys have flowers while kids are dying. Lets compare figures if you dare. You think others go around blabbing? You like running around the place like you come from heaven. Have you guys finished with Ebute meta? Or is it still a dump?

Please deal with this dude first before you cry tears of blood for ND na. He has been fingered for drug dealings and is at the very heart of your politics and rulership.

MKO was meant to supply a phone system upgrade, it never materialised. People point fingers at him and Murtala.

I bet there will be other areas where the man has been too slippery to be caught. This is likely to be just one of many crimes.

$100,000.00 jeep! Why would a pastor need that?

Tell us were you are from if it isn't some fu'cked up jungle that people need to to climb rocks and dodge animals to get to.

Tell us, so we can compare development. I dare you.

You come from those deprived areas like Ekpe, instead of rooting for your issues with you governor, you want to descend on the ND with bile.
Jealousy will kill you o!

Did you compare the infant mortality in your state to mine in all that long time you were gone? Is shame killing you now? I haven't even started with education.

Instead of travelling a bit, you want to paint the World with ignorance.

okunoba:
@Beaf,
I think most of us are guilty of defending those leaders from our ethnicity who have failed us and I think the Yoruba`s and Igbo`s are the biggest culprits. Bring the name Ojukwu or Awolowo and the whole ethnic hate explodes. We tend to equate an attack on a leaders from our ethnic group as an attack on all of us. Those of us that point fingers on this issue should take a step backward and look in the mirror. We need to learn to criticise leaders from our region and accept it when others do without taking it as a personal insult on all of our kinsmen.
Exactly.
We keep saying "one Nigeria", but we find it so hard to show the spirit. Everybody is so touchy about things that should unite us and we should all take for granted.

Please stop. . . seriously stop acting like an slowpoke and try to pretend you still have a brain up in that skull of yours.

For all you know of me, I am probably another Niger Deltan, only I don't carry it on my head. Or are you going to tell me that I am not because I don't agree with you? I cry for people like you who are quick to take SIDES in a country like Nigeria where we have learnt time and time again that the people remain the duped at the end of the day.
Shut up fool. Just a couple of days ago, you were confessing to be from an undeveloped part of Lagos. Hate filled wretch.

Lying is like stealing.

Poor thing! Don't be stupid now, you compared the ND to Lagos. My state is far ahead of Lagos in all the right areas, from infant mortality to immunisation.

I think you are jealous of the ND. You always come screaming and shouting like someone possessed with evil spirits.
So let it kill you.

I know you will die with this; do you know there is also airconditioned public transport?

You guys got jokes sha!
Politics › Re: Government To Transfer 10% Of Oil Ventures To Niger Delta Residents by Beaf: 2:21pm On Oct 19, 2009
10% is too small. This proposal is a means for divide and rule.

Give us true federalism.

A couple of people were discussing Danjuma stealing money and investing it locally, I joined the discussion with an angle on Tinubu and suddenly the place was filled with shocking tribalists.

I am appalled that we cannot even mention the names of criminals in Nigeria for the reason that they are from a particular area. Why?  shocked
I do not believe that the low lifes that reacted in tribal ways are in any way representative of their folk or ethnic group. They are just what they are; low lifes.

babapupa and akigbemaru who got the tribal ball rolling, shame on you!
Politics › Re: Fashola Commends Chidi Anyaegbu Of Chisco Transport. by Beaf: 8:20am On Oct 19, 2009

There are some old fools here who think that Nigerians pointing out a criminal should be met with an apelike wall of tribalism.

Jesus Christ!

So if Tinubu is pointed out as a criminal. You guys start abusing Igbo people?

Will abusing innocent Igbo's stop Tinubu from being a criminal? What did they do to you? It is despicable behaviour.
For those of you displaying your ignorance and extreme foolishness; I am not even Igbo, ignorance and hatred are killing you guys.

Tinubu is a criminal who has drug involvement!

I have no routine. Rather you have shallow tricks and the weak trap you set has sprung on you.
So, we will praise Chief Chidi Anyaegbu and numerous others like him that have put in one honest days work after another to attain stupendous levels of achievement.
At the same time, we will condemn the criminals dragging the country down. So lets rewind. . .

Once again, this is a quote from you:

babapupa:
Unfortunately, stolen money is hard to invest in meaningful ventures.
You opened the thread with it and I supplied Tinubu to fit the bill. Why all this docking and diving?

So bros, why dis Tinubu thing dey pain you like dis nah? grin Why bros? grin
Is there something we need to know?

My friend go and sleep!

Write an open letter to MEND or go and protest in the creeks about how you think MEND doesn't understand their fight.

Go and ask the most distinguished people and the greatest minds in the country like Mike Akhigbe and Wole Soyinka why they are foolish enough to represent MEND. You will just make yourself look foolish.

babapupa:
The above was your first contribution in this thread. Obviously, this thread has nothing to do with Tinubu, but you still showed up with your Tinubu obsession and managed to derail the thread.

Sure, akigbemaru shouldn't have traveled down that dirty road with you, but you started it.

Your tireless Tinubu drug baron and convict nonsense exists only in your mind.

Curb your Tinubu obsession sometimes and get some therapy if Tinubu raped you as a kid.
I didn't know Tinubu was a child rapist too. shocked

@topic
Stop talking stupidly as if others are blind. You started the topic with the quote below;

babapupa:
Unfortunately, stolen money is hard to invest in meaningful ventures.
So I pointed you in the direction of a genuine thief and very strangely, you are upset.  shocked Na wa o! Are some criminals sacred?

Abeg, let us praise those who have worked honestly like Chief Chidi Anyaegbu  and condemn the Tinubu's that are wrecking the country.
Politics › Re: Fashola Commends Chidi Anyaegbu Of Chisco Transport. by Beaf: 9:08pm On Oct 18, 2009
babapupa:
We all know Tinubu wan not a drug dealer or convicted felon so quit making a total ass of yourself. You're worse than a six years old.

Obviously, you have a childish and silly obsession with Tinubu, but this is not about you or Tinubu, this is about Chidi Anyaegbu and his good work.

Show some common decency and go launder your grievance with Tinubu elsewhere and let people honor Chidi Anyaegbu without your silly and puerile distractions.
Why am I not shocked that you haven't questioned akigbemaru's insane tribalistic rant, instead you attack me for pointing out a criminal?

The reason is simple, you and akigbemaru share the same hateful beliefs.
Prove me wrong by rebuking akigbemaru or shut up.
Politics › Re: Fashola Commends Chidi Anyaegbu Of Chisco Transport. by Beaf: 8:45pm On Oct 18, 2009
^Tinubu was convicted with the option of a fine. He paid the fine (close to $1 million).
