I can see that the strategies to ambush all available Igbo babes are quite advanced ![]() Uduzue, I am Isoko (your question on the other thread). |
This man is the only genuine politician out there. The searchlight needs to be shone on the so-called elite and ruling classes, not some fake re-branding. Patrick Obahiagbon might have his own unique style, but he has always been intelligent, radical; true to his morality and cause; I hope he won't be the next one in exile like Ribadu. |
lets ask the moderator why? @ beaf from your name , that show that your comments and contributions are sentimentally stream, so got not disturb my self on your post or contri
![]() From my name. . . But, Beaf doesn't exist in the dictionary. |
sjeezy8:Thanks for the candid reply, I sort of guessed you might not. Egbira, Afemai, Wepa-Wano, Gwari and Nupe peoples all share borders with Yoruba land, so your reply is quite telling; but by no means unique, it is quite common in the SW. It is extremly important for us (especially one Nigeria believers) to learn about each ethnic group intimately, otherwise we risk kindling the atmosphere for crimes fuelled by our ignorance of the next cultures distinctive strengths, qualities, quirks etc. It is a dangerous position to take. To my mind Udezue is only employing hard nosed practicality (an Igbo trait which has its positive and negative sides ); you can surmmarise what he's said as, "we might have migrated from elsewhere, but right now, the reality is we are either Itsekiri, Ibibio, Yoruba or Igbo and secondly.@Niger_d That history you posted is fatally flawed. |
@sjeezy Do you know much about Egbira, Afemai, Wepa-Wano, Gwari and Nupe peoples? |
gadogado:Even if that is the case, I am sure we Southerners would only be too happy to celebrate an indigenous writing system, if it was suggested to go on the Naira. In fact the govt would be doing the nation proud by using such scripts. Arabic is a strict no no. |
sjeezy8:Lets cut out calling of names. We can learn a couple of things. No, you're wrong. I didn't answer because the Igbo's here can provide you with much better replies, I believe Aloy Emeka once gave an example of something like a deputy gov or commissioner, I can't be sure. As for Muslims, there are Northern Muslim communities in every part of the country including Igboland, there are also a few Igbo Muslims eg Alhaji Abdul Azeez Ude. However, as I said, the Igbo's here can reply much better. Now, would you mind giving me your thoughts on the matters below? sjeezy8:Calm down a bit so you can grab the positives of what is being said here. You need to travel around the country a little to really appreciate things first hand, . Do you know much about Egbira, Afemai, Wepa-Wano, Gwari and Nupe peoples? Lets calm nerves. I'll not address your questions, except to say that your impression cannot be further away from the truth. Everywhere I have been in Southern Nigeria, there is the same sort of ethnic mixture you find in Lagos; population might be less, but everyone is welcoming. The East is not populated by aliens or devils. |
Kobojunkie:It is about our history and what our traditions say as against what outsiders say is our history. No one is debating the cradle of life. . . A wretched topic not worth debating outside dogmatic circles, because there is no known definition of life. |

@gadogado Since you keep mentioning "Oh Hausa had no writing system blah blah", perhaps you could check out this page? http://www.bisharat.net/Demos/Hausa_alphabet.htm I told you, the reason for rooting for Arabic (instead of protecting your own heritage) is a bleeping brainwash. |
gadogado:Funny guy! Are these not the same people killing Southerners because someone has depicted your holy prophet wrongly in Denmark, or raping pregnant women because some totally unrelated folk have organised something as benign as a beauty pageant in Abuja? Not just Arabic! Why not just put Osama Bin Laden's photo on the Naira as well? |
Abagworo:Egyptians painted themselves as black because they were black. I am surprised you never noticed the colour before, but that is the power of suggestion for you. If someone keeps vigorously repeating that white is black; there is a danger that given time we will believe it without question. Its the same way, scholar after scholar tells us that the pyramids served as pharoahs tombs, yet no mummy (or trace of one) has ever been found in a pyramid; they are all in the valley of Kings. We really need to sieze our history back from foreigners. You will be astonished at how much you can learn from our custodians of history if you can gain their attention. From the ethnic groups the OP has mentioned, two very obvious places and rich sources for exploration are, the palace of the Oroje of Okpe and the palace of the Oba of Benin. You might not get all you need (not being an innitiate) but you'll be very far from dissapointed, especially if you go prepared with your own questions. Edo people especially can trace their history (even providing dates) thousands of years back. So, add this post to your favourites. ![]() Scene for Tutankhamun's tomb. . .Guy was black!

delvinmaya:Open your eyes! Nigeria is ruled by rumuor. Someone is testing the waters to see if they can smuggle in those fuc.ked inscriptions that make us seem like an Islamic country or slaves to Saudi Arabia. Our armies motto is next; it says "Victory for Allah" and it is in Arabic also. How can those who produce almost nothing dictate to those who oil the wheels of the economy? I will state it boldly, clearly and from the rooftops; if they try it, I will burn something down! And I will not be the only one. |
^Its called, something for everybody ![]() @udezue I feel you. ![]() |
^ sjeezy: where everyone votes the sameThey will have to throw Ekiti state away sha, among many other adjustments. ![]() |
presido1:I'm thinking if it comes about that it will be best to name it either after the smallest ethnic group or a word in the smallest ethnic group. That will show ex-Nigeria how it pays to respect everyone. That, at one swoop, would immediately correct many of the ills of our present country; there can be no greater signal to show mutual respect and that we will never do such things as; kill our own in religious riots, bomb our citizens, use ethnicity as a weapon etc. I think the smallest groups would be Itsekiri, Isoko or one of the Igbo sub-groups eg Ukwani. |
^ Its about who owns the crocodiles in the creeks as pets ![]() Tanks, helicopters ke! The whole amnesty thing is about keeping bunkering lines flowing; so they've plied the weaker minded militants with money. . . Does the govt care about Nigeria? |
The "barbaric" reason is most likely oil bunkering. I'm beginning to think that's bunkering is the true meaning of "amnesty"; thats the only way you can dot the i's and cross the t's of this sad saga. |
Did he predict that that the Yoruba's, Edo, Delta and Bayelsa will join Republic of Benin? ![]() These self styled primates, elders, apostles, evangelists and other "seers" always predict the obvious; in the meantime though, we pray for Arewa, Oduduwa and a yet to be named Southern country ![]() |
This is a twist. The only thing that saved us was the fear that the slop would be stolen and sold on the black markets in Lagos. So criminalility can save us from disaster? Na wa! Anyway, thank God for letting this thing pass us by. |
blkmum700:So what? What a lame excuse! English is the only common language for the whole of Nigeria. They had better start learning to read English then. Are there no people in the South who cannot read English? What about those who cannot read in any language, should we put a voice recording on the Naira for them? The whole thing sounds ridiculous. |
gadogado:Ignorance is dangerous. What makes you think other ethnic groups outside yours did not develop writing systems? In fact, I am quite certain that if you provide the name of your ethnic group, an indegeneous writing system for your area will be found. People are only rooting for Arabic because they have been brainwashed. Nsibidi is a writing system of the Ejagham people of Nigeria. It is seen on tombstones, secret society buildings, costumes, ritual fans, headdresses, textiles, and in gestures, body and ground painting.http://www.library.cornell.edu/africana/Writing_Systems/Nsibidi.html There are several other West African writing systems, if you care to learn. |
udezue:I did a quick google for "okoro ijaw urhobo igbo itsekiri" and found that there is quite some info on the name Okoro. The top link was http://www.dawodu.net/okoro.htm |
^mess off. Idiot. |
@sjeezy No, we aren't the same. We all speak different languages, have different cultures etc. I think the reason we co-exist so easily is the honest curiosity we have for each other. There are also several words that are common between Yoruba and other ethnic groups, the truth is we are all interwoven one way or the other. |
Amaka, if you have nothing to contribute, you can fucking leave! ![]() Afterall you have said you care only about your blue passport and you will never live in Nigeria. Stop trolling. |
Thank you for posting these pics. I would implore fellow Africans to take notice of the skin colour of the ancient Egyptians, turn that over in their minds and go back to their villages to seek out the custodians of their history. We must reclaim our history and tell it entirely from our own perspective. |
^My dear, you ain't derailling anything. The same rotten smell is common to both issue's; symptoms of an underlying malaise. Some think that a nation can be built on narrow mindedness, shallow thinking, stupidity and crime. I just feel so saddened by these things. |
^You are right. There are so many "incredible" (avoiding harsher words) things that you would think that even a semi intelligent government would correct; but all that keeps tumbling out is one daft and dangerous policy after the other. Nigeria is tittering on the abyss. |
kellorah:That is because they did it at gun point. We had military dictators (from the North) that would have blown any decenting voice to heaven or beyond. |
holymike, you dey make a lot of sense. all denomination get arabic inscription until 2007 wey dem remove the inscription from (N5, N10, N20, N50) notes. de higher notes still get de inscription, so if na for uniformity, dem supposed to put de inscription back inside de new ones wey dem want print.
The way the North is oppressing the rest of the country has to stop.
