You keep inserting am a child just to amplify your opinion when I am not…. Nigeria’s national debt currently stands at $113 billion this is roughly N54 trillion…. Since you know history so well… What was Nigeria’s total national debt under military rule…..? Things are far worse now than then and it is obvious you’re trying to deflect from reality…. aribisala0: |
Your attempt to politicize the issue by trying to make it an LP thing is unfortunate…. So what is Tinubu’s daughter? BALLOSKI: |
Was the military printing trillions of Naira backed by nothing? Yes exchange rose over this period but what was the inflation rate? As a nation we did not experience the kind of inflation we are experiencing now back then. Buhari’s eight year rule was a disaster….. Is like you’re trying to justify incompetence of the current government by telling Nigerians is okay when it is not…. There are indications that Naira is now N1450 to $1 this evening…. The economy is on brink of collapse…. aribisala0: |
Thanks, same here I await more evidences and constructive rebuttals…. Xosh: |
Today, social media was abuzz with gossip and rumors of Oseloka Obi, the son of the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi. He come under criticism over his alleged sexual orientation after featuring in the UK Gay times publication. Oseloka, who is a British-Nigerian actor, was seen on the front page of the magazine defending the queer community. Many Nigerians started sharing photos on social media showing Osaloka with another man lurking into each other suggesting that he is gay. It will be unfair and irresponsible to conclude based on gossips sponsored by political actors. In my opinion let us wait to hear from the accused before jumping in to conclusion. Oseloka maybe apologetic to the gay right movement but that does not mean that we should conclude he is gay. In Europe and west, there are straight men who are not gays but champion human rights for gays and LGBTQ. Peter Obi been an Igbo man and two term governor knows this is a sensitive issue and he must not let this slide…. he must come clean with Nigerians regarding the ultimate question about his son which is “Is Oseloka Gay Or Not?”. Just as he criticizes government policies on Twitter there is need to do same on this pertinent issue. Homosexuality and Lesbianism is an abomination and not part of our culture. It will indeed be a shame if it is true that Oseloka is gay. I am yet to be convinced over this so If anyone has concrete evidence to prove this please feel free to share on this thread. Regarding Tinubu’s daughter, Habibat Oyindamola Tinubu is a US-based model, singer and music video vixen. The graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, United State has built a career for herself as a runaway model. She is widely known for her none apologetic stand for LGBTQ movement on social media especially on Twitter. Habibat is an LGBTQ rights activist and identifies as “queer”. Queer is an umbrella term for people who are not heterosexual or are not cisgender. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people may all identify with the word queer. After going through “her” pictures on social media I think Habibat is a transgender. I maybe wrong but there are obvious masculine features. Unlike Oseloka, there is no doubt regarding Habibat’s identity as been a “queer” and an LGBTQ activist. In conclusion what this recent developments should tell Nigerians is that we have many irresponsible men as politicians who have no regard for our culture and values. Men who lack moral discipline to pass on African moral values to their kids. Tinubu has no business occupying the seat of president as proven by his criminal track record. His daughter been a lesbian or an LGBTQ activist only adds to the list of scandals proving his dubious character. As for Peter Obi who ran as a messiah in last election, personally I still don’t get why many Nigerians went crazy over his campaign. Obi was a PDP presidential contestant in 2019, he ran with Atiku on the same platform so I think if he was declared winner by corrupt INEC, his government policies won't be different from an Atiku presidency. If it is proven that Obi knew his son was gay and kept it hidden just to win election then he may be worse than Tinubu if given the chance to be president. As the African saying goes “The devil you know is better than the angel you don't know”. Above all else, Nigerians should be more concerned over the rising rate of insecurity and free fall of the Naira….. |
It appears Naira is now N1450 to $1…. |
Thank you for pointing that out as I was about to react to @Elemosho478 comment…. There is indeed a big difference between exchange rate and inflation…. You can not compare Nigeria’s economy and South Korea…. You can imagine a situation were a government literally kept printing money backed by nothing brazenly in the last 8 years over a dying economy…. RawSex: |
To be clear in my opinion I will prefer a decentralized system of government where states are made autonomous and control its security (State Police) and revenues from state natural resources (100%) with no Federal influence but will remit an agreed amount as tax to Federal not how it is been done now that Federal takes all and shares it. If this is not feasible, I am also open to going back to people backed regional government system that will reflect equity. The truth is that current centralized system of democratic government we are running can not and will not benefit us as I said earlier many Nigerians are easily manipulated and weakened by the ruling class due to tribal and religious sentiments…. You can see how many Yorubas in this forum shamelessly defended a drug criminal who was proven to have forged school certificates to become president knowing the damage it will cause the nation…. that’s how tribalistic many Nigerians are. Rolings: |
We can’t have strong national institutions because just as you said many Nigerians are hopelessly tribalistic and religious….. Nigeria's root problem is foundational and not political. Due to the demographics, we are people who uphold our ethnic, tribal and religious affinities above national identity and ideologies. If nothing else proves my assertion I believe the lingering injustice on Nnamdi Kanu, Biafra agitation, Niger delta agitation and the Fulani herdsmen bloody pogrom validates it. What we need is justice for the country to heal there so much oppression and injustice in Nigeria. I believe we can achieve this through restructuring. For peace to reign and to keep Nigeria as one prosperous nation, we need a new decentralized system of government. I hope and wish that Nigerians will push for restructuring instead of waiting for 2027 to participate in another rigged election that will bring back our oppressors….. Time is running out for Nigeria….. Rolings: |
Where are those who were singing on your mandate we shall stand…. Where is helinus…. Where is omenka, yoruboid and other betrayers who shamelessly supported this disastrous government during the election period…. The chickens have come home to roost…. gaby: |
Today, it was not surprising to see breaking news regarding exchange rate value of the Naira been over N1400 to $1….. Many people supporting the rapid devaluation of our currency are making the argument about local export benefiting from a free fall of the Naira. These assertion is ill conceived as basic economics entails when compared to today’s realities. The infrastructural deficit as regards high cost of reliable electricity, transportation et al will erode any competitive advantage for local manufacturers.... Naira currency can not appreciate as long as our greedy politicians and cronies continue to loot, allocate huge allowances, travel uncontrollably wasting limited forex in the nation’s treasury, inaugurating duplicate unnecessary ministries, parastatals and public offices with a bloated expensive system of government...... Before the 2023 election, I had appealed to Nigerians on several public forums to boycott the election and agitate for a decentralized system of government by restructuring of our political landscape (See link to my post below). But unfortunately many Nigerians carried away by Peter Obi propaganda didn’t share this view so they decided to participate in the rigged election and here we are with the same evil APC government they vowed to vote out. The truth is that as long as the current crop of corrupt politicians are at the helm of affairs, Nigeria’s elections can never be fair…. So voting is only a waste of time. If truly we want to make a lasting positive change to the situation we face today, Nigeria must be restructured into a decentralized system of governance that protects the interests of each geopolitical regions (See link to my post below). It is only foolish that we continue to do the same thing and expect a different result. Personally I do not believe in advancing society through existence of democratic governments, I am a proponent of anarchism or voluntarism (organization of society on the basis of voluntary cooperation without centralized hierarchical government) but since Nigeria practices democracy there is need for restructuring toward a more decentralized system to restore peace, ensuring prosperity and justice for all. When the Naira was 700 to a $1, many foolish people on Nairaland forum and within the country were foaming at the mouth, insulting other sensible Nigerians who spoke out against the dangers and criminality that plagued Tinubu's fraudulent presidential ascension and appointments. These people who are mostly of Yoruba descent spread hatred among other Nigerians especially igbos mocking and wishing that they die of pain over Peter Obi's loss at the presidential election, saying it was their turn to rule.... The usual nepotistic sentiments that installed Buhari as president, who led us to the terrible situation we are facing today.... We are now almost a year into Tinubu's presidency and Nigeria's economy may finally collapse as Naira continues its free fall (Now N1400 to $1) and outrageous surge continues in prices of goods and services. A hopeless situation where unemployment is on the rise, insecurity is on the rise, corruption and looting is on the rise, kidnapping is on the rise, terrorism is on the rise..... everything bad seem to be on the rise while Tinubu is busy cooking up propaganda, making nepotistic appointments, traveling and approving reckless foreign loans borrowing policies that will be looted (Continuing from where Buhari stopped).... Nigerians have never had it this bad since the creation of this country, there is no doubt that this APC government is bent on destroying what is left of Nigeria’s economy. In 2012, when Jonathan's government removed subsidy, many Nigerians including Tinubu marched in protest and demanded an immediate reversal of the policy even though Jonathan's administration had a better plan for the country and naira was N180 to $1, today with the terrible state of the economy and existence of an incompetent, reckless and evil government, why have Nigerians decided not to hold this government accountable? Why have we decided to be docile and insensitive even to our own detriment? As it stands, Nigeria’s economy may collapse totally before the end of this year if nothing is done to stop the astronomical rise in our currency value against dollar..... Since last year we were told by the government that Dangote and PH refineries are operational but till now no refined products from these refineries are available and petrol is still been imported with subsidy paid to the oil cabal…. The situation is now critical and all well-meaning Nigerians and patriots must rise and save this nation before it is too late.... We have no other country but Nigeria.... by the time dollar hits N2000, it is only a matter of time before total break down of law and order with criminals looting shops and killing people everywhere..... Nigerians must rise above tribal and religious sentiments..... we must demand for a restructuring of our political landscape before it is too late..... The criminal APC government filled with greedy politicians is incompetent and lacks any moral authority to provide economic reforms needed to salvage Nigeria’s economy. For Nairaland tribal champions who after reading my post and may want to attack, ask yourself Are you enjoying the fact that Naira is now N1400 to $1 and heading towards N2000? Are you enjoying the high cost of food and services? Fuel price will soon be increased again, are you okay with it? It is a shame that many of you are willing to destroy your country over tribal hatred and sentiments…. If you don’t learn from history then you will suffer the consequences when Tinubu and his gang of looters destroy what is left of our economy….. Your tribal hateful propaganda against Igbos and IPOB will not save you from the effects of the bad government…. Nigeria is doomed if we can’t unit against our political oppressors…. Nigeria is doomed if we can’t see beyond tribal and religious sentiments….. When all is said and done, it will be Nigerians that will bear the consequences of APC evil government.... https://www.nairaland.com/7578573/take-tinubu-atiku-obi-sowore https://www.nairaland.com/7591199/2023-election-why-nigeria-must |
You said “99% of your theories are just that simply theories. You have no working examples to cite.” Yes there is no working example because the world is ruled by government…. The root problem of government is that its mandates are mandatory and its compulsions are compulsory…. In the case of Nigeria, whether military or civilian government the result will be the same this is because government is not a moral institution that exists for the benefit of the people… Every four years we are presented with puppets as candidates and given the illusion that voting can bring about positive change but in reality it can’t. Yes good people elected may champion progressive reforms but this does not make the concept of government good for the people. Any system of control that doesn’t allow an individual to opt-out is slavery…. We are slaves to our government…. Government (Mind Control) exist to exploit the people for the benefit of the few…. PrinceofSarcasm: |
Anarchy doesn’t mean chaos or disorder, it means freedom from oppressive centralized authority with a monopoly of force. Voluntarism or Anarchy is the organization of society on the basis of voluntary cooperation without centralized hierarchical government. Anarchy basically means freedom while government mean control (Mind Control). I am not advocating for a lawless society but a society bound by voluntary cooperation and not force. The truth is that government can never be made moral in its current form. You said “Laws keep not just the people in check but also the government.…”, in reality, good people don’t need laws and bad people don’t heed laws. Why pay and empower unaffected parties to deliver standardized punishment for standardized offenses? Why not take back justice so that it’s just the individual that decides what’s just in each situation? Anarchy is humanity’s natural state. Just as Government and Control are synonymous, so too are Anarchy and Freedom. Anarchy is the freedom to exist without being ruled by a violent, coercive minority that steals taxes and controls the money, media, military, police, laws, courts, and education. This is root cause of corruption and crime in our society. What we need are common law courts which settle lawful disputes between two affected parties regarding matters of injury (harm to one's person or property), theft or breach of contract. These are the holy trinity of common law..... Any issue outside this 3 are victimless crimes and have no business been called laws...... so state agents, district attorneys, police are not needed.... By limiting existing unnecessary laws to only 3, it will also drastically reduce the amount of court cases and cost of administering justice in a voluntarist society. As I said earlier anarchy is humanity natural state…. We can exist without government, when you say “A society without laws and control is chaos.” That’s a fallacy, common laws are good for a voluntarist society but centralized control systems like government which is synonymous to force is bad. There is no way you can truly advance just society without anarchy or voluntarism….. Statist democratic governments are immoral and basically criminal institutions that violate rights of the minority…. PrinceofSarcasm: |
Governments are like parasites that forcefully feeds off people’s labour through mandatory taxation. For government to be a moral and just institution it must be voluntary and must not unleash violence on the people….. |
Democracy is an unjust system of government like any other government system, it violates the non-aggression principle by exercising force and implementing mandatory taxation. There is no democratic government that gives an individual the option to opt out of been governed. We are basically slaves to our government….. This is wrong and immoral…. You said I “simplified one to embellish the other….” Can you explain? PrinceofSarcasm: |
Let me start by saying that I’ve not done an in-depth research on voluntarism theory but stumbled upon the concept while searching for an alternative to democracy that doesn't marginalize the losing voters. I will do my best to explain but this is not a highly researched opinion, so bear with me. I believe that voluntarism is the only moral way to govern a people, and that the tyranny of the democratic majority victimizes the minority leading to a vicious cycle of oppression every 4 years (In the case of Nigeria’s elections) as they have no option to opt out of being governed. A democracy or republic, or any form of government that relies on elected officials to represent a populous, marginalizes the losers. When you vote to elect your representative, you run the risk of being in the losing portion of the vote. When this happens your interests are not fairly represented as they should have been and you are effectively being taxed without representation. As an extension of this, even a perfect democracy fails the minority vote. It is nothing short of violence to impose the will of a larger body of individuals onto a smaller body. A majority's ability to impose its will on a minority is virtually limitless. If all of "The 99%" wanted to impose a 99% tax rate on "The 1%" because they believe such a tax is justified, there would be no way of stopping them. In reality, government representatives are incapable of representing others, and cannot be trusted to make decisions on their behalf. Nobody represents a person's beliefs better than the individual himself. As an example, in America the Patriot Act is widely regarded as a failure to represent what is best for the people. This happens to be a failure that the vast majority of Americans agree on. How many would have voted in their senators knowing that this was the decision they would make? Democratic representation fails not only the losers, but the winners who were lied to on an official's campaign platform. An individual can only be fairly represented by himself/herself. Because the smallest minority voter is the individual, decisions should be made on an individual, voluntary basis. Government has as much a responsibility to protect the minority as to do anything else we've come to rely on government for. Those who do not want to support any government policy for example, APC government draconian tax policies should have the ability to represent themselves on that stance and not be violently coerced into it. Voluntarism is a peaceful solution to a violent practice. Someone who doesn't support involvement with Israel-Gaza war should not be forced to fund it. A government or people that uses force to exact their will on an individual is an immoral totalitarian government. Democracy in its current form no matter what gains as a people we may derive from its practice remains a tyranny of the majority on the minority. Voluntarism is the only moral way to govern a people. See https://www.nairaland.com/7968871/all-governments-immoral-criminal-institutions |
“Anarchy (the organization of society on the basis of voluntary cooperation, without political institutions or hierarchical government) is the true nature of all things. Monarchy, democracy, communism, all useless forms to control the human mind. But a mind cannot be controlled. It cannot be restrained. It has no boundaries. It has its will. Anarchy is the true nature of all things” -Alex Battig |
“Government is an association of men who do violence to the rest of us” -Leo Tolstoy “The most absurd apology for authority and law is that they serve to diminish crime. Aside from the fact that the State is itself the greatest criminal, breaking every written and natural law, stealing in the form of taxes, killing in the form of war and capital punishment, it has come to an absolute standstill in coping with crime. It has failed utterly to destroy or even minimize the horrible scourge of its own creation” -Emma Goldman |
Check any dictionary and you will find that “govern” means “control,” and “ment” (or “mental”) means “mind,” therefore “government” (governmental) really means “Mind Control.” All governments around the world are really in the business of brain washing. The Mainstream Media, the Public Education system, False Flags, phoney “wars” like the “War on Drugs” and the “War on Terror,” patriotic history textbooks, newspapers full of crime, violence, and intrigue are all in place to perpetuate the illusion that government is necessary. |
Government is immoral because it violates two fundamental moral principles that every civilized human being takes for granted. Number 1, the non-aggression principle, you do not initiate the use of force against your fellow man, woman or child. Number 2, property rights, we own ourselves, we own the effects of our actions. Government violates the non-aggression principle by creating a monopoly of force, a small group of people armed with sophisticated police, military and guns get to order everyone else around. They steal, and lie, and they are essentially a criminal organization, and attempting to manage, and control, and minimize a criminal organization doesn’t work. Minarchism, or the goal of minimizing government through political action is just another government program and it does exactly the same thing as all other government programs; it achieves the opposite of it’s intended goal which is why government keeps getting bigger and bigger the more we try to make it smaller and smaller. - Stefan Molyneux |
Hopefully, soon the people of this world will be free from pervasive systems of control called government…. But before then, many good people must rise up and unite again injustice and oppression…. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9wlMWYTpqg?si=PPf2iiy2Ow3VGn1G There is no political solution to the problem of government. Voting for a new ceremonial figurehead every four years has never, will never, and could never create any significant lasting positive change because governments cannot be improved or made moral from within. There are too many vested interests and no Statist system, be it Monarchy, Oligarchy, Communism, Democracy, Republic, or Dictatorship, none of them respect the right of the individual to opt-out of being governed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ew2pALUMWko?si=QcFQozUmo1kr5VD1 |
Your derogatory opinion is not true and it is inconsequential to the economic reality as a result of Tinubu and his bad policies. The dirty politics of tribal propaganda been promoted by many Nairaland users and your insults shows you lack what it takes to engage intellectually. Don’t bother quoting me again as I will not reply you. You’ve made your opinion clear, hope you can rest now…. Gajagojo: |
As long as you’re in Nigeria get ready, I hope you’ve what it takes, none of you will escape the effects of this bad government that you supported to win through hateful tribal propaganda…. Gajagojo: |
Your long epistle reeks of tribal hate and propaganda, what difference does it make that after spilling hateful rhetoric online, you proceed to buy a bag of rice for N70,000 in the market? You see that your major problem here is that you focus so much energy on tribal frivolities while the Yoruba leaders you’re defending are busy looting and destroying your country. How does your hateful Zikist Igbo propaganda put food on your table? When you answer this question then we can continue the conversation….. Those liking and sharing your post are delusional…. blabulu2000: |
Nairaland deleted my recent posts and this is why I’ve been unable to post here. The biased nature of some moderators in this platform is quite unfortunate, I had decided not to reply or make any new posts but since there are many Nigerians here who may benefit from my posts even though it may be deleted or account banned I’ve decided to post whenever I can. Your submission regarding Igbos is clearly a tribalistic propaganda and has no factual connotations…. Is it not glaring that Tinubu’s APC government is incompetent and lacks any moral authority to provide economic reforms needed to salvage the country. Are you enjoying the fact that Naira is now N1200 to $1 and heading towards N1500? Are you enjoying the high cost of food and services? Fuel price will soon be increased again by next year, are you okay with it? It is a shame that many of you are willing to destroy your country over tribal hatred and sentiments…. As I said earlier you will face the consequences when Tinubu and his gang of looters destroy what is left of our economy….. Your tribal hateful propaganda against Igbos and IPOB will not save you from impending doom…. Gajagojo: |
