Beckplanet : last time, you said your portfolio size on Squaldhelp was around 175 premium names and today you've over 400 premium names 225 increase ...massive shocked

Notwithstanding Brandbucket and Alter... Omo

Are you related to Keith De Boar..?
Lol, not really bro. Have been building my portfolio in the last 6 months and Recently bought a SH portfolio from another domainer at reseller price, but surprisingly not much have changed as the Sales through Rate (STR), have not improved the way I would have expected due to name addition.
I feel better off in terms of STR When I had around 100+ names to now as size haven't reflected on output and I feel squadhelp is experiencing some marketplace saturation at the moment... With over 65k names in their marketplace that is a big jump from 12k names they had as at early last year and this marketplace saturation might be affecting sales. It was easier to sale a name last year their with a portfolio size of 36 names than it is right now. (Just my observation) and on alter I simply had to Resubmit all my names there to see what they like, but I still don't trust the marketplace yet until I start seeing actual results.
Lol, Keith de Boar is a man I revere so much in the industry but not related smiley

pls is it necessary to add intermediary bank details in afternic payment form? if there is pls what should one input?
What do you mean by intermidiary bank details? What payment method are you using already?

Afternic has 3 to 4 payment methods the last time i checked which includes 'PayPal', 'Wire Transfer' Good as Gold and 'eCheque'(which is similar to wire transfer)
But the most preferred options for Nigerians is 'PayPal' or 'Wire Transfer'
For PayPal option you'll need an exchanger
For wire transfer you'll need you full bank details, bank swift code(which differs depending on the bank in use) and your address.

I hope that helps.

Sales Report in the past 3 months

Rejuvida//dot//com

Sold Price : $2000
Reg Fee : $6.95(Sav)
Received : $1400 after commissions deduction
Sold Venue : SquadHelp
Sale Type : Inbound
Hold Time : 3 months

Innotera //dot//com

Sold Price : $1799
Reg Fee : $5.99(Dynadot)
Received : $1295 after commissions deduction
Sold Venue : SquadHelp
Sale Type : Inbound
Hold Time : 6 months

I've been a bit away for while because of project activities and other stuffs I'm handling outside Domaining so had little time to participate or focus on the industry activities that much.

On the sale of rejuvida that is a bit rare sale for a name with such combo because, "Vida" means life in Spanish and Portuguese and doesn't go well with most words, I guess the synergy between the prefix "Reju" which relates to "Rejuvenate" and "Vida" or "Life" made me pick up the name.

To summarize how the market have been so far, it's been pretty slow year majorly because of the pandemic effect and a slow progression in recovery by all sectors of global economy, hence most marketplaces have been dead for me this year, Afternic have been non-existent for me all year long probably because of alot of changes going on there this year and also because of my portfolio price increase there at the beginning th year with just 2 sales all year long, Dan have been pretty average too with just a Sale more than Afternic for me and with a portfolio of over a 1000 names listed names in both platforms, Squadhelp have been slow but pretty okay for me with roughly 7 sales this year with a current portfolio of 400 premium names.
BrandBucket have been overly ineffective for me all year long with just 1 sale there and over 120 names.
Brandpa have been under achieving with 0 sales in the past 18 months with just 23 names.
Just joined the new brand marketplace Alter and can't make much about them although currently owns around 200 names there and it's been 2 months there but nothing serious other than a lucky $700 sale for a name that was originally listed for $2000 but sale came as a make offer which I accepted... So can't make much of that.

So far so good is been a pretty unusual year with a mix of different factors influencing the market, but in all I give all the Glory to God who has been faithful.

Thanks boss, I know brandable takes alot patience to blending in and I read the post you shared about brandable tutorial back then. I actually mean if there's new updates/invention you were wouldn't mind if you carry us along. we all appreciate your contribution on here
Nothing new, no new trends at the moment
Brandable niche is all about knowing the basics and applying them then tweaking them as you progress. It's not rocket science or alien space technology smiley. If you read (study) and understand the basics then half of the work is done already, then it'll only take time for you to grow in it with what you already know and keep learning from experience. For further updates you can checkout dngeek dawt com and tldinvestors dawt com I follow those platforms too and also keen to learning daily. Hope that helps bro.

BB SALE

Agrinovo//dot//com

Sold venue : Brandbucket
Sold Price:$2,895
BB Commissions:$870
My commission:$2,025
Hold Time : 6 months

This is actually my first BB Sale in 3 years of joining them. Although portfolio there have been ups and downs with alot of inconsistent within the time with selling off some bb published names at namespros back then for reseller prices. But decided to main some consistency and started building a portfolio again at the start of the year (Started the year with just 21 bb published names), currently at 100 bb names at the moment, although i bought roughly 60% of the names from fellow Domainers at namepros and other platforms @ reseller prices ($15 - $30 per name), had to buy due to BB's delay in review process (around 41 days to review a name at the early months of the year). Although the sold name is one i picked myself, haven't sold any bought name yet but believing they might come good (experimenting on them at the moment to see if it'll work out or not) but then all thanks to God.

One final question sir. Are they dropped names or you backordered them?
I've answered that severally, i don't backorder names, i don't do auctions either. I only use ED till date. I can only say that these are lucky sales cos even when you reg a name from Ed you only hope it sales as no guarantees whatsoever especially if it's a brandable name. You only hope, and majority of the time most of the names doesn't sale. So it's a gamble always.

I hardly Handregister names, They are ED picked. I prefer names with some search history and maybe some previous business records so you stand some chance, Hand regs don't offer that, you only handreg when you feel u've got some good idea on an "in demand niche" or a trending hot keyword which is rare and happens once in a while.

Nice flip Chief, mind sharing how you arrive at your domain pricing, since WBY for both domains are 2020

Make we all learn small
Since the start of this year, i decided to price 80% of my names at 1,$$$ range, the consequence of this, is that it resulted to low sell through rate as i see 1 or 2 names sales in a month with a portfolio of over 500 names and sometimes Zero sales in one or two months, But when i priced my names at around $199-$350 last year (2019) i sold way more names in a month due to low pricing back then. So I'm currently experimenting pricing at the moment and this is liable to change if i don't see much result at a set time.

Please this thread is beginning look like a Squadhelp infested thread than an actual Domaining thread. A newbie that joins the thread today will be confused with all these logos flying in here and there, and with the amount of recent posts will join the bandwagon not knowing that there are other niches in Domaining and that "Geo Niche" is even most profitable than all other niches in the industry as i always recommend every now and then. Please let's not make this thread one sided and try to discuss more on quick flips and what everyone can benefit from.

Squadhelp is overrated most of the names they approve are trash, and a bulk of those they reject are actually gold.

Don't kill yourself trying to submit names there. If they accept, good. If they don't,better you can submit your names at brandbucket if you feel it's good enough.

I have being comparing sh names to bb names and found a huge gap between the two.
Totally Agreed with you bro.
I've said it often in the past here that i don't rate Squadhelp as much as i do for Brandbucket.
In one of my previous posts i stated on how squadhelp rejects alot of clearly good names for whatever reason. And someone then responded with they have a pattern and I'll need to follow that lol grin (i guess a newbie maybe) truth is i know what a good name looks like when i see one and squadhelp reviewers team either are usually on a mood swing when reviewing names or clearing do not understand what good names are supposed to be, and they keep accepting disjointed names and some poor brandable names (Saturating their marketplace with mediocre names mostly)

In Brandbucket for example you clearly know what they looking for in a brandable name, whereas for Squadhelp you never know because nothing is consistent there.
Squadhelp is currently at 50k + names and doesn't look like slowing down anytime soon.(That is over saturation of marketplace loading) At least if you want to saturate a makeplace fill them with good names, not some mispelt, disjointed and sometimes i wonder what it means kind of names. That is why i say to people don't jubilate when your names get accepted in a marketplace, it's not that a big deal because they mostly accept trash these days, keep the jubilation till when the name sales cos that's the hardest part of the puzzle(selling a name). And currently Names in most brandable marketplaces places are like lottery tickets because half the names are mediocre (Majorly "Coined Handregs" and with the exception of quality name categories like Dictionary words, Short 4l.com, premium 2 keyword letters(bought from auction marketplace maybe) aside from these category of names the hard truth is that most Handregs are like Lottery tickets) This is because when you own say zuva** dot com and you type the first variation of the name "Zuva" into a brand market search box you likely see 10s and 100s of similar patterns of that name in the search results (this translates to the name having slim chance of a sale as there are other alternatives) meaning that if you are hell bent on just getting whatever type of name accepted in a brand marketplace, you might end up selling none at the end of the day cos the chances of selling is pretty slim and you didn't care on the quality of names you were submitting cos all you wanted is just to get your names approved. And at the end of the day it'll take "chance" for you to make a sale. It's imperative to focus on what a quality brandable name is, than just pushing to get just anything accepted.
And don't be in a rush to start, i always advised people to start off with geo names (which is good way to build up funds, portfolio and strategy because geo names sales 10x faster than any other niche in the domain industry then slowly start marking strides into the brandable niche or any niche you want if you feel you can do it. Don't jump into anything because you see others. Some persons are good with geo names and understands the basics, but once they see a geo sale report they are motivated to keep moving then if they see someone announce a sale in another niche they abandon their efforts, focus and all the momentum they've built and start chasing shadows, when someone else reports another geo sale they goes back. (Truth is you never grow that way, stick to one thing and become popular in it, then diversify later if you want to and stop jumping bandwagons)...
Generally Domaining is not easy(I've been for some while now sef without a single sale), it takes patience and luck amongst other things to break even. But amongst all if you keep believing you'll be success at the end.
God bless everyone.

HolySpiritspeed:
Please, which of these is better to list a brandable name when expecting a fast/quick sale? That's, which of these has greater buyers/customers/ clientele base: Brandpa, BB, SH and afternic?

Pls how long does it take brandpa to review submitted names? Again, after submission, should one proceed to pay the $8 for listing or should the person wait till approval of the said name? And if so, do Brandpa send mails/notification if your submitted names are accepted? How long does it take them to conclude reviews.

Please kindly help attend to the above, to help us the newbies make informed decision.
Cc beckplanet, tranxo, therealmcain, ideapro and all the other bosses.
God bless.
All those brandable marketplaces have different niches and specifications or caliber of names they accept and do well with. If you are talking about Medical, cannabis, Hemp, Cbd, fashion and some wired kind of names lol maybe Squadhelp is the right place for you.
If you seek to list just any type of names, with Geo's, numeric, long, Short, in fact any kind of names without any type of curating and in a scattered marketplace maybe you might head to brandpa, all you need to do is pay them some listing fee charge and you're free to list whatever you want.
If you need a professional marketplace that lists virtually any type of business name and brand name with some high class curation of the names then brandbucket is what you're looking for, but then it's tough to sale a name at BB than the others and squadhelp tends to do pretty well according to some domainers option.

And on the other questions regarding brandpa, i currently don't know much happening around there at the moment in terms of time of listing, reviews and all that, maybe you'll need contact their support for clarity at support@brandpa dot com they'll answer all your questions and are very responsive too.

- Did you outbound?
- was it a brandable or geo?
- how many marketplaces did you list the domain on?
- how did you get popular to be making 5-7 sales per month?
Lol, bro good questions. Although most of my previous posts explains these questions, if you read my sales report from last year all these informations are all there.

5 - 7 sales a month was from my last year record when i was selling for relatively low prices nothing like that happening this year in). And back then i had a portfolio of around 300 names, selling mostly in the $150 range a name and at most $750 at afternic or Dan unless maybe a sale in the low 4 figure range sale happened from a brandable marketplace(which was a rare scenario sometimes). Then i generated most sales from afternic like i said its all from last year.

To answer your questions in bits
- Did you outbound?
I don't outbound, rarely maybe on one or two occasions i do (that is because most of my names are brandables and doesn't have specific end users so you have to be patient for them to sale, this is very hard though and you need a fairly large portfolio to experiment on that and some luck too, although sometimes it can be frustrating hoping ane5waiting for a sale to happen)

- was it a brandable or geo?
95% Brandable portfolio. (Disclaimer : It takes alot of patience and faith to steady a ship with a brandable portfolio sometimes it works other times it doesn't, again takes alot of waiting time to make a sale too)

- How many marketplaces did you list the domain on?
With the exception of godaddy, i listed then at Afternic, Sedo, Dan (for parking), and a few brandable marketplaces (Brandpa and Squadhelp mostly) although i no longer list at Brandpa cos it been disappointing for me over there.

- how did you get popular to be making 5-7 sales per month?
Lol, it's not about getting popular bro (Bear in mind that those statistics were from last year and with a portfolio of 300 names then listing names at $150, $199 mostly anything can happen with such portfolio size and at low priced names for some good names between but that is not case this year. At the moment i reviewed my bin prices since the start of the year and hardly average 2 sales in a month but at fairly average prices (low 4 figure range) I'm satisfied with the returns at the moment but rarely sales many names because of price bump as compared to last year sales ratio that's the point. So it have nothing to do with popularity back then its all about "the more the number of names the more chances you have for a sale and the lower the prices of name the more likely the name is to sale", it's a simple Domaining Rule.. Thus you need a bit of luck too. And again bear in mind that those stats were all from last year, and this year nothing like that is happening maybe a sale of 1 or 2 names in a month and sometimes Zero sales in 30 days like i mentioned earlier on. I hope that helps.

BusinessRe: What To Do To Make Money Online? by beckplanet: 9:18am On Jul 06, 2020
I see alot of people regging left, right, center every now and then more especially when a sale is reported, though personally I'm not a big fan of that as it always seems like a gamble to me.
The Good news about replicating names from past sales is, it might work on a probability of 1 out of 10 (More especially when you're skilled, knowledgeable and know what you're doing) but the Bad news is 9 out of 10 times it doesn't work out, although there are some exceptions to this stats. Why it doesn't work out so well is because there are circumstances surrounding a domain sale all the time and most times it is based on pure luck and perfect timing. So if you skip the story behind a sale and begin to reg similar names with hope of making a 1000% ROI from it you might be in for some disappointment at the end of the day.

Now let's take for example i sold a certain kanibi dot com for $1699 at Brandpa last year (My first and only sale there till date), i Hand-Regged name back then because of the growing hype of the cannabis marijuana industry, with 2 other permutations. I got an idea from the sale of kanabi dot com then which sold for $10k.
So after several researches i decided for permutate 3 similar names that patterned like the former, nonetheless "kanibi" was the closest duplicate of the 3 names i coined as at then. So afterwards listed name on brandpa and it sold 8 months later. But then the other 2 names became more like failed experiments and were dumped to the bin (i let them expire) because it was clear to me that they weren't up to standard with market requirement and current market trends as the cannabis vibe is not as wavy as it was last year or simply put names were not good enough.

Truth is sometimes we see a reported sales here and there and starts regging up names we feel will replicate similar success or even generate more profit to us without thinking the story behind these sales or having a better scope of the sale of the name or even the current market trend by doing this we leave name to fate of probability and huge uncertainty. Personally i stopped replicating registrations of reported sales long time ago unless on exceptions and times I'm dead certain on the kind of niche, the trend of market and the potential to the name (Summary of what i mean here is don't replicate registrations of past sales blindly alot of research is needed to successfully thread that path).

Leads me to recalling when i started newly as a domainer, i used to register trash names from the drops, and then mashing heavy prices tags on them and expecting them to sale the next day without giving it a thought "That, if it was so easy why would my imaginary big money buyers wait for me to reg name first then come buying it from me the next day". I never thought about it one bit in the way as i was enthusiastic from sales report and thought it was that easy. (A more reason why i advocate studying and researching the market first before jumping on board to start regging anything at all).

I see someone report a sale on some certain keywords and most people conclude that is the next thing to go with and start regging here and there. Lol smiley
First question to ask yourself is when i type this keyword on say a brandable marketplace, do i see similar listed names with same keyword. If yes, then why haven't all those tens and hundreds of the similar keyword listed names sold yet, and then next question, "is what i want to register better in terms of quality than those names already published in these platforms or is it just average and like any other regular name. If you can convincingly answer these questions maybe you can make a better decision.

By the way i haven't sold anything in the past 30 days
(This may be as a result of adjusting my prices in the last 6 months which have resulted to 1 or 2 sales in a month as per 5-7 sales i averaged last year selling at relatively low prices then) although still receiving small installments from previous sales to keep afloat. Sometimes Domaining can be hard and requires alot of patience. But then we move, keep believing and hoping for the best ahead.
Success to everyone and God bless all hustling domainers out there.

Name too long. Sparkling is a weak keyword + the ing on top. Sparrow is not an in demand word either. Next time go for short 2 keywords like 'sparkhero', "hellospark", "funspark" etc and try to avoid 2 keywords with "ing" or plural (its a turn-off for end users) keep it simple and short as possible.

Mrblaze06:
please, when submitting an invented word brandable, what kind of description do you give them?
Not clear what you're exactly looking at. But then you give a description to a name based on the niche and what the name implies. Say the name FoodFlavor dot com. You simply type the keyword food on any brandable marketplace SH, BB, BP and get an idea on how similar names where described then you re-edit to suit your need. But if the name has no exact niche or applicability at or it more like a name with Universal applicability then you can go with the descriptions below. (Hence you can still edit and change words to your taste)

This powerful, descriptive and modern name is versatile and unique with endless possibilities for nearly any industry.

FinArmor is a great name. Fin is a strong keyword and Armor is fairly a good keyword too. And i feel the combo makes sense and strikes a balance.

First financial institutions are springing up daily, and coupled with the fact that we're heading to the era of financial digitization(digital currencies). I feel a major concern of some of these financial set ups is how to keep their customers and public funds safe and secure. So with a name like FinArmor i feel it goes well in that direction as Armor means Armour, shield, security, and vault sought of meaning. So in summary name means a Financial Security system. And might find a home to a Fintech security firm or Digital security setup. I Wish you well on this one bro. Goodluck.

Hello people....
Hope you all are doing great.

I see someone mentioned opening a Whatsapp group. Well to be frank as good as it may sound that is not a very good idea for the benefit of ALL.

Truth be told, if there was a Whatsapp group before you became a domainer maybe you wouldn't have been able to learn all that you learnt and benefitted from this thread, because more attention and energy would have been channeled on that whatsapp group instead of here.

Alot of our old veterans/bosses have earned the bragging right to go open a thread or page of their own but guess what they choosed to remain here and contribute from time to time because they understands the virtue in TOGETHERNESS. Even myself, i can remember someone suggesting here to me last year to open a brandable thread lol i laughed, because as good as that idea sounds, it brings division and my kind of person is not motivated with such opinions. "I'll rather opt we remain in one place than different places".

Remember the purpose of this thread is first to Help ALL Nigerian youths who are looking for make legitimate income online via Domaining, second to keep us United as one body and follow trends together in one pace, thirdly to learn, relearn and continuously learn from one another and finally to keep the fire of this thread burning so newcomers can be encouraged that the thread is alive and lively and make it a continuous trend. (Respect at Oga Iykepromotions for doing that for the benefit of everyone)

Now if we all go and start creating whatsapp groups, how will newcomers who stumble on this thread figure out what's going on and keep motivated that the biz is worth it and keep going, because i believe by opening a Whatsapp group most of our energy and time will be channeled toward keeping the group alive than here.

Futhermore, how can we learn from each other on a day to day basis, as like the person mentioned most of the things shared there is not here. (It's a pity to hear that sef)
Again how can we keep this house one and together in unity. Because division will always brings weakness and separate entities (Causing confusion) that will mean if i for example needs an information I'll have to look for it in different places(something that could have been easily found in one place) splitted information means alot of people will not benefit from it and that is not healthy for us going forward.
Finally, i don't encourage or support the idea of having a Whatsapp group outside of this thread as there are alot of CONS to it than PROS, maybe not now but later. So I'll urge all those involved in such already to think it through and try more to contribute more here. You might now know who you're helping or impacting.

Someone mentioned we have to find a way to bring the bosses back, lol well no bosses have gone anywhere and between we're all bosses here, No knowledge is greater than the other(it only takes time to develop yours). So if you feel some bosses are missing, new Bosses will Rise smiley. But one thing i want to encourage everyone here who have benefitted in this thread past and present or who Will still benefit from this thread in future is "Let's stick together, cos in our unity lies our biggest strengths" and always remember to give back to the hand that fed you in due time.

I appreciate the efforts of those that have contributed to this thread and are still contributing and all the Oga's who have in one way or the other be a source of motivation to many here. Your reward will come in due season.

Sold T/a/s/k/s/h/i/f/t in king for $3500 bp make offer. Acquired $1 netsol + one renewal

Sold B/o/l/d/B/u/i/l/d in king for $1000 (LinkedIn outbound) . Also $1 netsol acquisition plus one renewal. This sale was very interesting cos i did that last month, during the lockdown. The lead insisted on $500 due to an expense freeze by his company all because of coronavirus pandemic but i managed to squeeze out more juice from him. During negotiations, he asked about the impacts of the virus in my country and i provided the brief compared to what they currently experience in the states. I would have asked for more but the entire world was bleeding. Let's continue to press guys, it is well with us. No further details
Boss. I see you smiley. Congrats and more sales!!
