sarrki: He’s not Igbo But her husband is the lord and savior of Ipobs miscreants
MayorofLagos: Ibos betrayed Saraki. There was a picture they circulated of Saraki and Obi in strategic meeting and hinted that Saraki has picked Obi as VP. This was few hrs before votes. So after votes we heard Ibos voted for Atiku. What about Saraki and Obi?
Bloody betrayers!
why are nairalanf yorubas bitter all the time? Is that how yorubas are in real life?
Cjrane2: I view with heavy suspicion the recent barrage of attacks on various Igbo groups in this fora. I was one of those that begged Spyder to use his good influences to create this thread to enable us share ground shaking ideas to take advantage of our small sized region and develop it very fast through implementing feasible plans that can only come from a gathering of great minds in a platform as this. Some faceless person has been creating multiple monikers to make this thread an avenue of hate and Igbo disunity. The exact opposite intention for it's creation. My question is what is the intention of this wicked individual and why is he so terrified about Igbos rising again in Nigeria?
My biggest surprise isn't that what he is trying to create here happened, because i know nincompoops always existed in every family, but how some erudite members of the forum swallowed his deceit hook line and sinker.
The question on my mind is their game plan?? Now that it appears the SE is again moving into mainstream national politics. Whose interest is it to have SE remain a marginalized minority in Nigeria?? They know the only way to make a majority tribe become a minority is to break them up into fragments. Then create nonsense for them to keep squabbling about, while their share of Nigeria's wealth is shared amongst others who are not even as populous as Igbo. They did it in the past when they feared so called "Igbo domination". Why are they so frantic again to pull Igbos down??
I leave you to ponder on the immortal words of the Awka Declaration of our People. "Never Again" shall we play the games of our enemies and become willing tools of our own misfortune in their hands.Fighting ourselves needlessly like jackals, while they share our commonwealth amongst themselves.
i hope u are not talking about me. I have been vocal about ikwerre and anioma being igbo...but everywhere i turn, i see an ikwerre or anioma idiot who has something negative to say about us. How can i keep ignoring them without looking desperate. Even without ss igbos, plus even without the millions of igbos outside SE, we are still a large people.
If not for the biafran dream, why do we need ss igbos? They are the one who need us. The only way a ss igbo can attain national position in nigeria is if we are supporting him...but we from SE can attain national position without them. Nobody sees them without seeing us. Nobody sees uche secundus or ifeanyi okowa without seeing igbo...but we can show ourselves without showing them. Let them be the one to look for us.
Problem is IPOB members, who are ready to roll on the mud and receive every sought of insolence from these minority groups, in the name of building a phantom Biafra with them. They disgust me, and I hate them for doing such. It belittles and tarnishes the dignity of the rest of us. These lots must be warned and advised to stop such disgraceful begging already.
begining from this thread, we must reach a concensus here that ikwerre is not igbo. If it means coming down hard on anybody who says so here. Many igbos follow this thread. We must use it to carefully sow the seed of discord btw igbo and ikwerre. Lets see who will blink 1st
If we do our duty here right, it will snowball to the outter igbo society to hate ikwerre without reason
pazienza: Bia Enyia. Stop this already. Ogini di? Don't you lots have group dignity? Igbo tag is not a cheap tag to be sold to every tom dick and Harry.
Ikwerre is not Igbo. Let it go already. Stop disgracing us here.
And not just that...we must learn to demonise them.
We must teach our children to hate ikwerre. Tell them about the abandoned property saga. Stand with their enemies. Hate ikwerre until they call truce.
I just went tru the handle of this hopeathand fool and all i saw was UNWARRANTED hate on igbos.
Ok we get the fact that u guys are not igbo...why do hate? We must rally our ppl online to openly hate ikwerrre...we stand nothing to lose
pazienza: The date was December 2010. It was the year an Ijaw man by the name GEJ came to visit Ojukwu and seek for the Igbo support in his agenda to succeed late Yaradua as elected Nigerian President, which would involve destroying the PDP zoning formulae, which stipulated that the North should complete their 8years tenure before power could return to the South in 2015, with SE being a strong contender for presidential slot, in 2015, should power return to the South.
Events leading to GEJ visit to Ojukwu was chaotic. A group of Igbo elders who were of the opinion that Ndiigbo would enter into a political wilderness should their help GEJ usurp the PDP zoning formulae, and sought to reach out to Northern elders in stopping GEJ ascension, led by the likes of Ekwueme, were locked out of their Concorde hotel Owerri state venue for their meeting, under the instruction of Ohakim, who it was rumoured, was working in consonance with GEJ.
These were the events that preceded GEJ visit to Ojukwu (Eze Igbo Gburugburu) at his Enugu residence.
Once at Enugu GEJ started the "I am Igbo" deception message. Let's hear him out :
: “I am here to inform the people of the South East that I and Vice President Namadi Sambo are vying for presidency and to seek the support of the South East zone. I believe you will support us because I am one of you. I consider himself as an Igbo man because of the circumstances of my birth and I believe you all regard me as your own son.”
And this was how it began. The news spread wide and near that GEJ is one of us, an Igbo man. You see, we had reduced the Igbo tag to such a cheap commodity that everybody can now come and tell us they are Igbo. We even those who are Igbos at convenient time, and non Igbos when It was no longer convenient. We threw caution to the wind. We opened our hands and accepted the "non Igbo" Igbo man, relegating our own group agenda to the background. Yet, the elders amongst us warned us about the consequences of our actions then, but we were too myopic to see the future.
i wont blame igbos for supporting gej in 2011...but i will blame us for supporting him in 2015.
I for one voted buhari in 2015...u can check my old post in 2014.
Gej didnt really realise the opportunity he was given to vigorously pursue an ss/se agenda. So in effect he dealth a blow on the ss/se block. 2nd niger bridge, eastern ports, eastern airports, eastern fg roads, eastern fg unis, eastern politicians' empowerment. Those where his jobs, he did the last one and left the others.
Seeing the hand righting on the wall, smart se politicians should have forced him not to contest the pdp ticket. He should have called someone like david mark, ribadu or even his vp sambo and given them the ticket and choose a se vp. If pdp still lose, nobody will blame or victimise anybody.
sean1000x: I hope that staff is fake. Does Buhari understand the symbolism of that staff/offor he is holding? Have you not read the bible of Moses with the same staff? I hope he knows before Amadioha will strike him mercilessly because his hand is not clean. Only special sons of the land approved by our ancestors like Nnamdi Kanu, Eze Nri, e.t.c., can hold that staff.
actually that staff is not offor staff but ikenga staff.
Ikenga (literally 'place of strength') is an alusi and a cult figure of the right hand and success found among the northern Igbo people. He is an icon of meditation exclusive to men and owners of the sculpture dedicate and refer to it as their 'right hand' which is considered instrumental to personal power and success.[52][53] Ikenga is a source of encoded knowledge unraveled through psychological principles. The image of Ikenga comprises someone's chi ('personal god'), his ndichie (ancestors), aka Ikenga (right hand), ike (power) as well as spiritual activation through prayer and sacrifice.[54] Igbo cultures value of resourcefulness and individualism in society utilises the concept of Ikenga to regulate the relationship between individuality and family relations and obligations, as well as free will and industriousness balanced with destiny decided persons chi. Ikenga acts as a physical medium to the consciousness and emphasises individual initiative through reflection and meditation.[16] Success validates the Ikenga and the sculptures act as visual representation of a persons inner success, people give offerings in thanks to the Ikenga after providing energy to overcome any unwanted pre-life choices.[16] These choices are at the hands of the persons earth bound spirit, mmuo, who chooses sex, type, and lifespan before incarnation.[16] The successful Ikenga influenced the saying of well being 'íkéǹgàm kwụ̀ ọ̀tọ́ ta ta' meaning that 'my Ikenga stands upright today'.[52] During festivals of Ogbalido or olili Ikenga ('feast of Ikenga') sculptures of him may be paraded around a village or displayed at the village centre if too monumental to transport.[16] When a person does not become successful with hard work the Ikenga has 'fallen' and is seen as a sign of danger, if meditation and cajoling the Ikenga fails, the sculpture is 'thrown down' and broken which spiritually kills the Ikenga; a new one is carved to replace it.[16]
Ikenga figures are common cultural artefacts ranging for six inches to 6 feet high and can be humanistic or highly stylised.[16][52] There are anthropomorphic, architectonic, and abstract cylindrical Ikenga sculptures.[16] Ikenga is a symbol of success and personal achievement.[16] Ikenga is mostly maintained, kept or owned by men and occasionally by women of high reputation and integrity in the society. At burials, a mans Ikenga is broken into two with one piece buried with him and the other destroyed.
Apc is really wrking hard to bring pdp down with cheap propaganda. B4 it was that wike is imposing candidates... After it became that saraki is stepping down
B4 it was that they were sharing dollars...
Now it is that same ppl who got dollars are now complaining of hunger
PassingShot: We heard this “a lot of Igbos are outside Igbo land” in 2105, it didn’t amount to anything meaningful. Igbos couldn’t give GEJ any victory in any northern state or any SW state.
gej lost by only 2.5 million votes.
He didnt rig and many ppl as at then thought buhari was a good leader...things don change small o
93Miles: Bede2u was saying since part of Rivers State speak Igbo,, therefore, Rivers State is Igbo state.
I then asked him.. Is he aware that there are igbo speaking people in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea? Should we say that Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea are Igbo countries because there are parts of the countries who speak Igbo?
fools. We have closed this thread teh teh...move on already
BankeSmalls: Their intent is to spread negativity here. Pulling out all reasons why igbos are weak and disunited. They attack states and yesterday, they attacked zik, Okpara, ojukwu and Ekweremadu. These people are bitter afonjas.
my friend stop this nonsense...we are here to tell ourselves the truth so we can grow...not to lie to ourselves and pretend we are japan.
Dont waste space here by calling anybody with another opinion afonja...its annoying
ghostfacekillar: if truly Europe wants Africa developed y is it hard for them to grant referendum to people who wants to form a country... Europe hate Africa and they want to do anything possible to hold us down
they allowed eritrea and south sudan.
But they didnt allow catalonia and confederate states of america.
Its simple...once two ppl agree to part ways, europe will support them
wat is my opinion? These are hard cold facts. U think europe cares about any aftican tribe? Europe wants africa to develop. Thats part of the reason they colonised us and allows us to come study their science...but that they are somehow afraid of us is laughable....dem never fear china finish...na divided africa they will be fearing.
They wish us well. But they are tired of carrying us like babies
ghostfacekillar: ojukwu did what he had to do..gowon was the one who broke the aburi pact...... They where murdering igbo all over Nigeria and u xpect him to keep quiet? And clap for them.... He did what was necessary Nigerian didn't win the war... They where aided by our Colonial masters and other countries who saw biafra as the only obstacle from looting Nigeria dry.....ojukwu did the right thing...we fought back rather than been dragged and rapedd in the street without doing nothing... Afta set and done. Hope Nigeria is getting better?
i use to say these things nwanne...until i decided to read far.
Ojukwu went to war cos he had no choice? Who goes to war cos they had no choice?? Just wat ppl tell themselves after they lose a war. Cos winners dont say ish like that.
Ojukwu came back and saw that gowon backtracked on aburi? So? He could have given a press conference and tell the world that they shouldnt see our silence as weakness...he would have boasted and boasted but quietly went and settled with gowon, while building his strenght gradually. He might be able to topple gowon later if he bidded his time and built his strenght...afterall gowon was in lagos not in kaduna.
They were murdering igbos in thousands...ojukwu decided to fight back without weapons and got igbos murdered in millions.
And let me tell u...it was nigeria who won us...not any u.k...they might have supplied arms to nigeria while refusing to supply to us....but the strategy was from gowon and co. They took enugu, took ph and took all our coastal areas...
ghostfacekillar: mister stop twisting what he said... U understand what handsomegod meant by that statement.. Did he tell you that biafra will start quarreling with us. Ussr and co...
he meant that ussr thought biafra would build futuristic technology that might rival theres if biafra is allowed to stand....and i say it is a BIG lie. Ussr wouldnt think that...cos there was no basis for that. Biafra as at 1968 was largely rural and filled with illiterates. Our developed weapon was very crude and the developed world has gone past them at the time. Ussr was building a space station for Godsake. U.s just droped an atom bomb in highly developed japan...while u.k just finished colonising half the world.
The only reason u.k didnt help biafra is because they didnt want other seperatists movement to arise in fragile africa. The reason u.s didnt help is because nigeria was u.k sphere of influence...and the reason ussr didnt help was that biafra wouldnt accept to become communist...plus they were already fighting the cold war with u.s
Nobody was afraid of any biafra bcoming japan of africa...thats just propaganda
ghostfacekillar: what did you jst say? That ojukwu was broke and wretched? I can see u are going nuuutz... Ojukwu who used his father's wealth to fight for what he believed in is wretched and poor?.. I can see that u ave a personal problem with ojukwu which u didn't settle with him bfore he died... Nonsense...
only problem was why did he allow the war in the 1st place? And wen he did, why didnt he win or knw wen to quit?
I dont think ojukwu had money towards the later part of his life....cos i know he wasnt a business man himself.
But if of all i said, the one u want to fault is only that particular one...den it means i am 95% right.
We would have been actually great (not all these empty chest beat of greatness we do here) if we had critical thinkers as our leaders in the 50s and 60s. None of them was a critical thinker... and i dont care where they are from...cos they are all igbo to me
mbagideon: Bros wetin you dey talk sef say Russia dey fear say dem no want another Japan for Africa how e sound for your ear why dem no stop Japan from becoming what it's
i tire o...ussr wey u.s dey fear go come dey fear biafra join?
Handsomegod: To put an end to this silly back and forth, provide evidence(books, links etc) to validate all you stated above. I promise you too that I will call my book vendor in Nigeria, pay him and have him send all relevant books on this matter to you where ever you are in Nigeria. Please I presume you are in Nigeria sir? Deal?
deal...but am not in nigeria. Just take pics and paste them here...i will paste wen i get a chance
Politics › Re: . by Bede2u(m): 1:23am On Oct 05, 2018*. Modified: 1:46am On Oct 05, 2018
Handsomegod: Bede. Ojukwu never declared the war. Ojukwu did more to avert the war than Gowon or any other person dead or alive. He preserved the 158 northern military officers who landed under his care in Kano on the very day of the coup. He Infact led them to safety. He conceded to all the Federal side demanded at Aburi only for same agreements to be jettisoned by the Federal side at the advise of the British Secretary of State,Horold Wilson and Prince Akenzua, the then SFG. The Eastern Consultative Assembly mandated and empowered Ojukwu to declare Biafra as a last effort for survival and self -preservation. Between May and November 1966,hundreds of thousands of Igbos were massacred in the north and South West including nearby Benin City in an open and unrestricted show of savagery and mob action. Neither the regional nor Federal government lifted a finger to halt the carnage. Igbophobia was already entrenched in the psyche of the Nigerians. The events leading to this period was only a convenient excuse to finish "inyamiri" off. Secession was only natural. What kind of International Politics do you expect Ojukwu to play when same international levers of Power are the covert executors of the war for sinister reasons. The only probable ally would have been Communist Russia. Guess what the Russian Party Secretary told the delegate that went to seek help in Moscow? He called them aside and point blankly said the following: "A country that is not yet 2 months old that can manufacture monster bombs, rockets, rocket launchers, radar system and all manner of inventions must be feared. We can not afford another Japan in Africa. We cannot help you". Have you read Akanu Ibiam's letter to Queen Elizabeth denucing his Knighthood as a protest to the Crown's complicity in the Biafran genocide? Google is your friend. It will further expose the depth of international conspiracy against our people from inception. Foreign economic interest was also paramount to that conflict. In the words of a historian, Kristilolu"Lydon Johnson, the then American President backed Nigeria because EUROPE and AMERICA cannot afford to have a Japan in Africa. There are reasons for this. Biafrans invented the things now being used in Brazil where we have cars run on sugar cane fuel". When you say he prolonged the war when he already lost,i am at loss sir. Ojukwu was an accidental leader. He played his role well and did his best. People who only celebrate other people's foibles naturally have very little to give. On a final note,i recommend you read widely to be better informed on this matters.
all u said dont disprove my point.
Ojukwu was told to declare biafra...could he have refused and urged the ppl egging him on that another course should be followed because there was not enough weapons to defend the territory from fg? Yes he could have...even in the face of massive intimidation by fg remained calm, knowing he had no weapon. But he chose the loud course and wasted my fathers.
Europe didnt want another japan in africa? Really? If u said this... and then said later 'thats why europe told gowon to kill all igbos' then i would understand. If igbos manufactured that in small biafra, wat told europeans that a united nigeria with both igbos and others wont be even deadlier than just biafra? Why do u guys hide behind one finger? How can u say that a largely rural and illiterate biafra was being feared by ussr who already sent a rocket to space and had the largest stockpile of nuclear weapon. Lets not insult our inteligence here pls. There are no kids here. Ussr was already in cuba, in china, in north korea, in east germany, in poland spreading communism. They offered to help ojukwu if he would join the communist movement...ojukwu fearing france and the west, said no thank u. They would have stayed off...but ojukwu's arrogance made them to actively sell arms to nigeria to spite the smart-mouthed ojukwu
2 months after the war, enugu fell. Ph fell a few months later and by 12 months into the war, biafra was just the present abia, imo, anambra and ebonyi. The remaining 5 states of today were already in nigeria's control. At that point, wat was ojukwu fighting for? Wen it became clear to gowon that they have adequately surrounded ojukwu, they just blockaded us and waited until hunger and disease made us surrender. Did it have to come to dat? That is why enugu people didnt experience hunger like other people did. Cos they fell early in the war to nigeria.
Ojukwu failed woefully. Dude came back and couldnt even win common senate. He was again outmanouvered by his political opponents. Ojukwu lived a sheltered life. His dad was richest man in nigeria. His grasp of the street is very limited. He hoped more on his books and big grammer. He became very broke and spent much of his active life trying to recover his father's property and failing in almost every political outing
Handsomegod: Okay Bede. One moment you admit knowing all the political and social forces that condition the acts of the above mentioned key Igbo leaders the next moment you revert back to sub par mode to cast aspersions on them. So what problems do you have with Ojukwu and Ironsi? Kindly state them before I respond.
my problem with ironsi is slacking and getting killed.
Someone surrounded by wounded enemies guards his life with passion all the time.
Handsomegod: Okay Bede. One moment you admit knowing all the political and social forces that condition the acts of the above mentioned key Igbo leaders the next moment you revert back to sub par mode to cast aspersions on them. So what problems do you have with Ojukwu and Ironsi? Kindly state them before I respond.
my problem with ojukwu was
1. Going to war without weapons 2. Not being able to play international politics that will win him powerful friends like fidel castro did... 3. prolonging the war wen he already lost
Handsomegod: Okay Bede. One moment you admit knowing all the political and social forces that condition the acts of the above mentioned key Igbo leaders the next moment you revert back to sub par mode to cast aspersions on them. So what problems do you have with Ojukwu and Ironsi? Kindly state them before I respond.
my problem with zik is not many....but one...
Why didnt he play tribal politics....it was the only politics to play if he wanted wats best for igbos.
Handsomegod: Aside that those sent to Enugu to complete the killings of the noted Igbo leaders failed in their bid,the Arch Bishop of Cyprus was in the East as at that day. It would have been a diplomatic lunacy and blunder to carry out a coup with a such a dignitary in tow. Fate was just against a conclusive success of that coup by all indications. Again, recall British was still the covert string puller in Nigeria then as they are today. They were not silly to thrust power to the north. If that coup had favoured the north, nothing would have happened. Please quit castigating Nzeogwu. He did what was considered the best interest of the nation at his time. Quit giving our enemies live bullets to finish us by perpetuating their false narratives of the putsch and the war proper.
i dont want to go into certain things in detail...but was the arch bishop of canterbury also vising osadebeh in benin that he wasnt killed?
Was jesus visting ironsi that he wasnt killed? Who was visiting Nwafor Orizu?
Nzeogwu was a yoruba born- hausa trained vagabon who has no place in igbo political pride
Handsomegod: Oga take it easy. Nzeogwu was no fool. His acted within the limit of what constituted national interest in his era. Plenty issues conditioned the coup and the fall out today. For a start,as at then, the north had 23 senior officers. The west had 17. The East had 78 senior officers so it was natural to have more easterners in any military set up. Now,what was the political and social basis for a change of government? A politicised 1962 census, the political anarchy in the Western Region, the bloody Tiv riots,a partially boycotted 1964 general elections and other social ills such as ethnic chauvinism, endemic corruption, nepotism, economic stagnation, wanton arson, political thuggery and an incompetent leadership at the centre. The coup was inevitable at that point and would have happened any other way sooner than later. The coup received nationwide acclaim until the spin doctors went to town and changed the entire narrative! At the root of this change of narrative(tagging it an Igbo coup) is Igbophobia already well established in the north and West. (Recall Ahmadu Bello's hate speeches,Awolowo's carpet crossing to decimate Zik,Igbo massacres in 1945 in Jos and Kano 1953,etc). You need to consult and read widely to understand the social and political leverges of that era for you to make sense of the coup and it's aftermath. Igbos like who still hold this false narrative only serve to perpetuate lies the enemies, hold on to suppress and justify their evil. Gideon Orka led another bloody coup. Why was his not called a Tiv coup? Dimka led another boody putsch. Why was it not tagged a Jukun coup? Think Oga! Think!
all u said... i knew.
But u are missing one thing already...the fact that 4 out of 5 top officers who planned the coup where igbos and the fact the only 2 premieres who were not killed were igbos. The only fg actors who were not killed were igbos and the person who benefited from the coup was igbo.
Foolish nzeogwu PERFECTLY played into the arms of the enemy in such a way that questions should be asked if he was actually an slowpoke or just an uninformed fool.
Chiwude: You tried to elevate Ekweremadu: a sitting duck and new Zik of our time because he's is your kinsman. Pazienza saw your intentions as not genuine.
i dont even like ekweremadu to start with...but he has managed to keep himself in seat for 12 yrs...not easy...and not possible tru confrontation
