Politics › Nigeria Air: A Ploy To Siphone Funds - PDP by BeeBeeOoh(op): 11:03am On Jul 21, 2018 |
Abuja – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday mocked President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Government over the proposed national carrier.
The party disclosed that the entire project is a huge scam, adding that the five percent government funding on the project is a direct ploy by the cabal at the Presidency to siphon billions of naira.
PDP asked the president and the Federal Government to perish the thought of trying to use the ‘unveiling’ of a nonexistent national carrier to beguile Nigerians now that election is around the corner, as such ruse cannot yield any dividend.
PDP, in a statement by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan said that “it is unfortunate that, having run out of fake promises and not having any development project to parade, President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have now resorted to international kite-flying aimed at hoodwinking unsuspecting Nigerians.
“Is it not comical that while other nations are unveiling and rolling out real planes, the Buhari administration, in a most hilarious manner, is ‘unveiling’ drawings of an airplane, name, logo and imaginary routes of a nonexistent fleet, as our national carrier, in faraway London?
“What President Buhari and his handlers fail to understand is that Nigerians can see through their fraud and lies.
“Apart from drawings of airplanes, there are no structures to indicate that a new airline, billed to commence operation in December this year, is being set up; there are no offices, no recruitment of personnel and no form of ground activity anywhere in the country.”
PDP pointed out that Buhari’s plan is smack of pure scam, adding, “less than six months to commence operations, the supposed new airline has not even started the process of licensing, even when it takes a minimum of six months for a new airline to obtain Air Operating License and three months to develop its manuals?”
The party said that every discerning mind can see through the lies in the announced private sector funding, as the Federal Government has been unable to list any private investor it has gone into negotiation or signed any form of deal with in the said project.
“If the Buhari administration is not on a fantasy trip to beguile Nigerians and pave further ways for its humongous corruption, it should have focused on our existing national carrier structures, in addition to three operating airlines, already taken over by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
“It is therefore clear that the entire project is a huge scam and that the five percent government funding is a direct ploy by the cabal at the Buhari Presidency to siphon billions of naira, using a phantom project.” https://independent.ng/fg-proposed-national-carrier-ploy-to-siphone-funds-pdp/amp/

But Adeosun forged an NYSC certificate “in the present,” has willfully refused to acknowledge the forgery, and is still a minister. As I pointed out last week, a Louis Edozien whose credentials were found to be forged after an audit in 2014-and fired as a consequence-is now the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works, Power and Housing, Nigeria’s biggest ministry. And Okoi Obono-Obla, Chairman of the Special Presidential Investigative Panel for the Recovery of Property, was discovered to have fudged his WASC to gain admission to study law at the University. He hasn’t lost his job. So the judge’s lamentation about a bleak future he averted is insensitive to the blight of forgery in the present. From smuggling in and reinstating Maina who was sack because of fraud in the last administration to bringing back Louis Edozien who was sacked for certificate forgery from the previous administration also. Buhari's love for criminals and forgers Is so strongWhat has become clear in all of this is that in Buhari’s Nigeria, justice isn’t blind. Its blindfolds are off; it is a love-struck beholder of the president and people in the president’s good graces. It's so visible to blind and very audible to the deaf. For every second that James remains in jail while Adeosun, Edozien, and Obono-Obla not only walk free but live off the fat of the land even when they committed the same offense as he, the very foundation of Nigeria chips off. This Is A Quotable QuoteIf Buhari wants to run his government on the principles of lawlessness, he should codify this so that we would have no expectations. Do you think Buhari has any regard for the rule of law? A president that has flouted the court's verdict on several occasions is that president not a lawless president. We Must Come Outta This Alive That's What I'm Sure Of. |
Politics › Nigeria Air: Trouble For National Carrier As Reps Mull Probe Of Concession Deal by BeeBeeOoh(op): 4:41am On Jul 21, 2018 |
• Investigates licensing rounds for marginal oilfieldsJames Emejo in Abuja There are indications that the House of Representatives is determined to investigate the concession agreement on the new National Carrier, Nigeria Air.
The indication emerged after a motion on the subject surfaced on the agenda of the green chamber Thursday, as item number five.
This is coming as the House also passed a motion mandating its ad hoc committee investigating the huge debts owed by the International Oil Companies (IOCs) to indigenous contractors, to extend its investigative functions to marginal oilfields licence acquisitions.
The committee will also evaluate the financial proceeds from successful bids and remittance and non-remittance of revenues by the licensed operators into the Federation Account.
The motion to probe the national carrier sponsored by Hon. Dennis Agbo had demanded the setting up of an ad hoc committee to investigate the process of concession of the national carrier and ensure the selection of a credible core investor with a view to avoiding any failure, losses or embarrassment to the country.
Agbo had taken into cognisance the recent attempt to revive the national carrier by the Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, who had obtained a conditional Certificate of Compliance, along with the Outline Business Case (OBC) from the Infrastructure Concession and Regulatory Commission (ICRC).
He expressed worry that as a result of alleged questionable manner the process was carried out, the arrangement might fail again and bring the country avoidable losses and embarrassment.
He said while ICRC, in the conditional certificate, stated that the process should be at zero investment and management interference by the federal government, the Federal Ministry of Transport had already indicated an initial requirement of $8.8 million and another $300 million for the purchase of aircraft by December 2018.
According to him, these funds were not in the 2018 budget.
He added that the federal government had equally gone ahead to organise a road show scheduled for Thursday in London.
The motion further raised concern that the ministry had proceeded with the process in such a curious, hastened and in complete disregard of the pre-conditions in the OBC by ICRC, which is charged with ensuring integrity and favourable outcome of any concession of national assets.
However, the motion was stepped down and deferred to a future date because Agbo was not in the chamber when it was mentioned for consideration by House Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara.
House to Investigate Marginal Fields Licensing Rounds
Meanwhile, the House Thursday passed a motion mandating its ad hoc committee investigating the huge debts owed by the IOCs to the indigenous contractors to extend its investigative functions to the processes of marginal oilfields’ licence acquisition.
The committee is also expected to evaluate the financial proceeds from the successful bids, remittance and non-remittance of revenues by the marginal fields’ operators into the Federation Accounts.
The lawmakers will also query the strategic alliance agreements between IOCs, investors and the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), in the operations of the oilfields.
The resolution of the lower chamber followed a motion moved under matters of urgent public importance by Hon. Diri Douye (PDP, Bayelsa) on the urgent need to launch investigation into the oil and gas fields from 2001 to 2017.
He expressed concern that more than a decade after the award of the first marginal fields’ Oil Mining Leases (OMLs), the combined production volume of the marginal field operators (MFOs) are yet to make any significant impact in the Nigerian oil and gas industry and currently accounting for less than four per cent of the country’s crude oil output, according to the NNPC.
He further noted that the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) had in 2014 indicated that the marginal oil field licences awarded to the indigenous companies in 2003, but were yet to be developed by their owners would be revoked in March 2015.
He said one year after, the DPR was yet to carry out the planned revocation of the licences.
Among other things, Douye said the precarious situation had resulted in huge revenue losses to the Federation Accounts from the lease holders’ royalties, taxes and other financial proceeds accruable from the operations of the marginal oil fields. https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2018/07/20/trouble-for-national-carrier-as-house-mulls-probe-of-concession-deal/amp/

If you mistakenly throw this payint inside River Niger the fishes inside go float finish. The water used to soak this payint can equally serve as Gamaline20 to drive away pests in your farmlands It could also serve as conc. Tetraoxosulphate (VI) acid The water could also be used for fumigation, very very active and reliable |

Politics › We Will Increase Health Sector Budget - President Buhari Says by BeeBeeOoh(op): 5:30am On Jul 20, 2018*. Modified: 4:02pm On Jul 20, 2018 |
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday said that he is considering an upward review of budgetary allocation to the health sector as a step to improve the quality and access to medical facilities across the country.
The President stated this while receiving the new executive of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) at the presidential villa, Abuja. He said the review of the budgetary allocation will reflect the government’s priority of ensuring that Nigerians get better healthcare, especially in specialized areas.
“We place quality healthcare on our priority list, and we are already marching on with the Primary Health Care services and some state governors have bought into it. We are committed to universal health care,” he said.
The President assured the leaders of the NMA that the White Paper from the Ahmed Yayale-led panel report on Inter-Professional Harmony in the Healthcare Sector was already being considered by the government to ensure more organized and harmonized working relationship among medical practitioners.
Buhari, however, urged the medical practitioners to always consider their profession as “divine call” especially in taking decisions that directly impact on the lives of Nigerians, adding that other means of negotiation for better working conditions should be explored instead of strikes.
“The medical profession is regarded as a divine call because of the strategic role you play in the lives of human beings,” he said.
The President commended the NMA and its members on some of the medical feats being achieved in Nigeria like the separation of conjoined twins, organ transplants, heart surgeries and treatment of cancer patients. Buhari noted that the Nigerian Medical and Dental Council would soon be constituted to further enhance service delivery and regulation of the sector.
In his remarks, the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Osagie Ohanire, said a newly released basic health care provision would further focus on improving service delivery to Nigerians through the Primary Health Care.
The President of the NMA, Dr. Francis Adedayo, commended Buhari for including members of the NMA in the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and signing of the Medical Residency Training Act into law.
Adedayo urged the Federal Government to improve the budgetary allocation to the health sector as required by the Abuja Declaration which sets a benchmark of 15 per cent.
He said the speedy processing of the Ahmed Yayale report on harmony among practitioners in the medical sector will go a long way in enhancing service delivery and better working relationships https://newtelegraphonline.com/2018/07/well-increase-health-sector-budget-buhari/Lalasticlala, Mynd44
