Op, I know you mean well but opening this thread won't solve anything. With time, this brouhaha will die down.... for now..
Of course, that doesn't mean it won't spring up again. Until certain issues are addressed, trivial matters will keep on exposing the ethnic hatred some Nigerians have for their fellow citizens. |

heartofgold44: The man refused and said that it is only a few people who don't trust their partner that is having a registry wedding. Huh? The only person having trust issues here is the man. She had better insist. If he still says no, she had better move on. I know it's easier said than done. Even my great grandmother who married in 1930's did court marriage. How then can a woman get married in 2015 and not make sure her marriage is registered? |
Romance › Re: I Hurt My Woman And She Left Me by Begonia(m): 9:54pm On Apr 11, 2015 |
@Op, your fiancee was acting like that because she was in a dilemma. She wanted to leave for one reason or the other but wasn't sure so she was contemplating. The way you acted towards her (forcing her to stay awake and talk to you, preventing her from going to work etc) just made it easier for her to leave. Begging wouldn't make much of a difference right now. You're going to have to give her time. Though, it's a shame she was about marrying someone she can't even sit down and communicate with |

I like to pretend we have sibling telepathy 3.The literally identical twins According to Reader’s Digest two twins were born in Ohio and separated at Birth. They knew nothing of each other but both were subsequently named James. They both became police officers and both married women named Linda. They both had a son. One named his son James Alan and the other named his son James Allan. They both divorced and remarried women name Betty, and they both had dogs named Toy. Aww.. probably twin telepathy. Truckpusher: You're perfectly right about the highlighted.......But can we always blame this whole thing squarely on insecurity?
Don't you think the societal pressure on the age of women as it concerns marriage is solely the major factor to blame for this unhealthy lifestyle. In Nigeria and some other societies? Definitely. In fact, it's what causes the insecurity. There are lots of women who don't face this pressure but still lie about their age for one reason or the other. I guess this is where upbringing comes in. |
