Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike met with football star, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos on Monday in Spain over possible establishment of an academy in Rivers State of Nigeria.

Wike was in Madrid to meet with officials of Real Madrid football club over the establishment of an academy in the State.

Speaking ahead of the tour, Wike said setting up the football academy was in the interest of the state as it would groom the next generation of stars.


He said, “What we are doing is in the interest of Rivers state. This football ‎academy, which will be the first of its kind, will groom stars, empower youths and create wealth for the state.

Doctors in the house..please help a brother. As I was having some body sprains, I bought this drug yesterday for painkiller (CLOFENAC SR) But when I Googled it I found out it was banned in Nigeria since 2015 due to some after effects it has. I learnt that it causes heart failure and kidney failure...though
I have already taken one dose out of it before the discovery. My question now is, did they banned it true? Because it seems very effective after taking the one dose. Does doctors prescribe it for patients? Please if it was banned as Google claims, what is other effective recommend able painkiller?

Please there is this multinational coy I had interview with, is complete one year this month. After three weeks I got a mail to forward all my credentials, payslip from my previous employer, local governments attention, passport and other necessary info required to make an employee. And each day, I would always give 24hrs to provide whatever info they needed.

Scores of youths in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State yesterday protested alleged laying of cables suspected to be for the controversial 5G Technology Network in the community.


The protest reportedly lent credence to a statement credited to leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, alleging the laying of 5G Technology Network cables in the state while residents were compelled to observe stay-at-home over the coronavirus pandemic.

A resident of the area who preferred anonymity said the youths had confronted the firm, warning them that the exercise would put their lives at risk.


He said the officials of the company, whose identity could not be ascertained as there was no inscription on their equipment, denied the allegation, claiming that they were installing a 4G Technology Network cable.

The Nation however learnt that the youths insisted they must stop work and leave the community for peace to reign.

Reacting, the traditional minister of the community, Chief Ndubisi Osele, blamed the protest on misinformation.

He said: “Some miscreants misinformed the youths in the community that 5G Technology Network was being installed in the community.

“What is being laid underground is fiber cables, not 5G Network; 5G Technology Network is a band placed on the Mast, it is not laid under the ground.”
