Report monitored by Midwest Herald Community Newspaper, indicates that an armed detachment of the Department of State Services (DSS) operatives may have taken over the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The armed and masked operatives, is said to have arrived the secretariat in a commando like style at about 4:24pm in power bikes and they instantaneously blocked the road leading to the secretariat.

There are no official reason for their presence but the mission of the DSS operatives may not be unconnected to report that the suspended National Chairman of the party, Mr. Adams Oshiohmole was expected at the secretariat, which has been under lock down since Wednesday evening following an FCT high court judgement suspending him.

CrimeRe: BREAKING!!! Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Strike In Okigwe, Kill 10, Scores Wounded by Bekool(m): 5:33pm On Mar 06, 2020
IamHeWrites:
No fewer than ten persons have been confirmed dead as suspected Fulani herdsmen strike in Okigwe council area of Imo state.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to IGBERE TV, the attack yesterday which was unchallenged by the police or the Army happened around Ojukwu street, Umuchima, Owerri road by union bank and Six-to-six area.

The Imo State House of Assembly in reaction to the barbaric act have summoned the state’s Commissioner of Police Olaniyi Fafowora, to appear at the floor of the State Assembly next Tuesday.

Igbere TV reports that Fafowor’s invitation was sequel to the motion moved by Chidiebere Ogbunikpa, a member representing Okigwe state constituency, during plenary on Thursday where he registered his displeasure on the invasion of Fulani herdsmen in the area.

The motion reads, “whereas the police and other security agencies are charged with the responsibility of protecting lives and properties of Nigerian citizens, Okigwe people inclusive.

“The police and other security agencies have failed to protect the people of Okigwe local government area. This fact became clear with the type of sporadic shooting that took place in Okigwe town last night which left eight persons dead and not less than twelve others wounded.

“The hoodlums had a field day as they went street by street in Okigwe town with bike shooting and killing my people unchallenged by the police and other security agencies in the area including the army.”

“Be it resolved by this honourable House that Imo state government and the police to provide operational vehicles and other equipment or manpower to enable the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force fight armed gangs in Okigwe.”

Ogbunikpa further charged the police to wade into the situation, expressing fears that more persons may fall victim if the situation was not arrested.

Igbere TV gathered that the motion which received massive support from members was cosponsored by Paul Emeziem of Onuimo state constituency, Pascal Okolie of Orlu constituency and Kennedy Ibeh representing Obowo state constituency.

PoliticsRe: Igbos Are Marginalised ― Gowon. by Bekool(m): 11:04pm On Mar 05, 2020
Masterclass32:
Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, has said the Igbo nation has suffered marginalization from the Nigerian state and called for measures to be adopted to reverse the trend.

He said this in Abuja during a debate for National Unity entitled: “Federal Character, Restructuring and Rotation of Presidential Power in Nigeria”, organized by Igbo Leadership Development Foundation.

The Wartime Head of state said Nigeria was sufficiently large enough to accommodate everyone irrespective of tribal leaning.

He said a constitutional debate on restructuring must look into issues of imbalances that has hunted the nation to correct it and promote equity.

“I believe that a lot of injustice have been done to the Igbo’s and the constitutional debate on restructuring must address all imbalances”

“Nigeria is big enough for all of us and I believe that the Ndigbo, Middle belt and the Yoruba’s are the true Nigerians because if you look round our borders, people came from abroad and are still coming but Ndigbo’s have always been there, middle belt have always been there, even Yoruba’s have always been there”

“People who came in yesterday who have a duty of respect are now the ones talking”

“Going forward we must create a federal democracy that will respond positively to all the aspirations of our people not about East-West but all about working together in equality, bringing in the youths, the women together to build a new Nigeria.”

The former head of state said he believed that without Nigeria remains incomplete with Ndigbo pointing out that if the nation sufficiently harness the intelligence and hard work of the Igbo man Nigeria would have been better.

The former head of state was represented at the event by former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Dr. Obadiah Mailafia.

Gowon said God did not make a mistake by putting Igbo in Nigeria and democracy which the nation practice demands fairness, justice and transperacy in the leadership and governance of the country.

He maintained that while restructuring was critical to national advancement, it must be carried out in an atmosphere of tolerance and love for one other..

He noted: “I am not a friend of hate speech, bitterness but a friend of patrotism because Nigeria is dear to my heart and I believes in bright future of Nigeria and Igbo and that together, we can make our country great.”

Founder of Gregory University, Uturu, Prof. Gregory Ibe, who also addressed participant to the debate said in his keynote address that Nigeria’s unitary system and federal structure, were only in name.

Gregory regretted that the present system was a clear departure from the federal system bequeathed to the country by its founding fathers and Britain.

According to I’ve: “Most of the powers that will engender real growth and development are tied in the exclusive list.

Solid minerials, electricity, railway, ports, security, etc. are all tied to the federal exclusive list to be executed only by the federal government.

He pointed out that Federal government has not been able to live up to the expectations of Nigerians in harnessing her God-given resource both natural and human to make the black race proud.

He maintained that restructuring was all about restoring to the States what the military took away from regions.

Renewed Herdsmen Attack on Kwande Communities.

Kwande Youth Council Worldwide wish to drag the attention of Federal Government on the renewed attacks on Kwande communities by Fulani herdsmen. The attack that was witnessed last night had not less than five persons dead with tens of people wounded.

We wish to state that while there is a military presence in Adikpo, the headquarter's of Kwande doing nothing other than extorting money from motorists, the hinterlands/ people of Turan are left without security presence to protect lives and properties.

As a matter of urgent, the council call on the deployment of the military base or camp in Adikpo to Turan to help restore peace in the area.

We appreciate Bob Tyough, member Kwande/Ushongo at the federal house for his swift response calling on the attention of the house on the killings.

PoliticsRe: 2019 Election Will Be Last Manual Elections — INEC by Bekool(m): 4:17pm On Mar 05, 2020
ManirBK:
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said on Thursday that with the proposed reform of the electoral Act, the 2019 election may be the last “mainly manual” election in Nigeria.
Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakub said this is achievable with the support of the National Assembly, tasking the lawmakers to expedite action on the amendment of the electoral Act.
He spoke in Lagos during the opening of a two day retreat with the National Assembly Committees on Electoral Matters.
The retreat was declared open by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo Agegewith members of the Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Electoral Matters in attendance.

The Chairman said part of the proposed reform in the electoral systemwas to deepen the deployment of technology in elections in addition to the existing electronic voters register and accreditation.
He said, “It is time for a new legislation to remove all encumbrances to further deployment of technology in the electoral process, especially in the accreditation of voters and transmission of election results.
“Sections 49 and 67 of the draft Bill deal with these twin issues. These sections will be thoroughly discussed at this retreat. Working with the National Assembly, it is our hope that the 2019 general election will be the last mainly manual election in Nigeria.”

RareDiamond:
History would be kind to Supreme Court Justice Chima Centus Nweze, JSC.......PhD, LLM, LLB. He has by this judgement immortalized himself as a fair, just and upright justice with unshakable integrity.

"Wonders shall never end! That means there were 159,340 votes in excess of the total number of accredited votes. “In the circumstance, I think that the humble view, that this court has inherent jurisdiction of redeeming its image by setting aside the said judgement, is not out of place.”

Eight, “Even then, this court declared the first appellant the winner in the said election when there was no evidence that he satisfied the true requirement of highest number of votes cast in the election and a position of not less than one-quarter of all the votes cast in each of at least two-thirds of all the local government areas in the State, Section 179 (2) (a) and (b) of the Constitution. If left, the said judgement of the Supreme Court will continue to haunt our electoral jurisprudence now and in the future.”
It's quite very unfortunate u will never hear falana condemning this great miscarriage of justice by the supreme court justices. I totally lost my respect for that man when he was condemning the bayelsa SC judgement it's now very obvious to me that he is an apc supporter and probably a tribalist.

Scores of youth stormed the Kano Hisbah office on Wednesday over an alleged blasphemy song against the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

The protesters holding placards alleged that the government and the security agents in the state are reluctant to act over the matter.

The convener of the protest, Idris Ibrahim (known as Baba Idris), said they came to notify the government to do the needful; otherwise, they will take the law into their hands.

Mr Ibrahim said similar incidents had happened in the state in the past that were not attended to by the authorities.

Earlier, one Yahaya Sharif-Aminu composed a song containing alleged derogatory comments attributed to the Prophet Muhammad. This prompted violence against the family members of the musician who fled the area last week.

Last Friday, the family house of the singer located at Sharifai quarters in Kano Municipal Local Government Area was set ablaze by irate youth who protested the song.

The singer is said to be a member of the Islamic Tijjaniya sect and a member of Faidha group. He is yet to speak on the matter.

While addressing the protesters, the Kano Hisbah Commander, Harun Ibn-Sina, said officials in the state are on top of the situation and the parents of the musician have been arrested and are currently under police custody.

Also addressing the protesters was the representative of the state police commissioner, Habu Sani, who told the protesters that the police are making efforts to arrest the fleeing singer.

The representative of the police chief who identified himself as Hamza urged the protesters to be law-abiding citizens by allowing the security agents to do the needful. He assured the gathering that the musician would not go unpunished.

PoliticsRe: BREAKING | PPPRA Staff Sacked To Pave Way For Buhari's Daughter Dies Of HBP by Bekool(m): 11:44pm On Mar 03, 2020
VillageParrot:
Chinedu Ugwu, one of the thirty four (34) contract staff sacked by the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) to pave way for the employment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter Hadiza and children of other Nigerian elites, has died of high blood pressure, SIGNAL can report.

Ugwu, 37, just like other contract staff had given over six years of work at the PPPRA with the promise that he would be permanently employed. But his hope of employment was dashed when the PPPRA sacked him and 33 others in 2017 only to secretly recruit Hadiza Buhari among others in November 2019 without any public advertisement or consideration of the promise of employment initially made to the contract staff.

Frustrated and jobless, Ugwu who was based in Lagos with his wife and three kids, could no longer afford to pay his rent and was forced to relocate to his village where he died on Sunday. Before his death, he had gone into a bout of depression.

"See what has now happened to my colleague? We had opportunity to make ourselves rich when we were working as contract staff at PPPRA, but we refused and served the country with integrity. See how they now paid us? We did not engage in any fraud. They can ask EFCC to check, we did our job well. We didn't do anything fraudulent. Our working conditions on the vessels were very tough. We even worked on Sundays. Some of us fell ill without any health allowances to take care of ourselves. One of us Folasade developed cancer of the blood and the family had to raise money to send her abroad for treatment. Till this moment, she has not been able to return to the country”, one of the contract staff who did not want to be named told SIGNAL on Tuesday.

SIGNAL broke the news of the secret employment at the PPPRA two weeks ago through a whistleblower who revealed the details of the injustice.

The secret recruitment which secured a job for President Buhari's daughter was carried out by the current Executive Secretary of the agency, Abdulkadir Umar Saidu an indigene of Buhari's Katsina home state. Saidu is said to run the agency like his personal business knowing he has the full backing of the President.

"The ES has told us we cannot do anything. He said if we like, we can go anywhere and nothing will happen", one of the affected former PPPRA contract staff told SIGNAL. Indeed, nothing has happened despite a series of petitions written by the former staff to the National Assembly to look into their case.

If u are from the SE still serving nigeria with all ur might and honesty despite all the current oppression against the igbos then u must be a very big fool who will never ever learn. It's far better to put all those energies and intellect in ur own personal businesses than waste it in any capacity to serve a country that has sworn never to see u and ur race prosper and happy.

Alot of southerners insult the north of the bandits, fulanis heardsmen and a lot of issues, but the truth is all this things are conspiracies planned by some evil minds aginst the development of the north.
RREASON
Ever since buhari came into power he has been making alot efforts to make sure Nigeria reduces it reliance on oil, hance he tried to improve the agriculture of the country which the northerners will be willing to accept and in turn increase the revenue generated from the northern region, but at the mist of this we began to see alot of issues like fulani herdmen, bandits and many more sringing up to discourage farmers from it.
If we can all remember the fulani heardmen used to be peaceful people moving from places without any problems with the people of the community they pass through so why did all this change all of a sudden.
Nothing like any cospiracy against the north, Nigerian security agencies are fully controlled by northerners so how can there be any cospiracies without the knowledge of the north. Karma is obviously dealing with the north after all the actrocies they committed against thausands of innocent people so as to retain political power in the core north. How can there ever be peace in the fulani north when they don't believe in justice and equity? Until the fulanis accept the fact that they don't really own nigeria and also change their mentality on how they view other fellow nigerians they and their region will never know true peace and prosperity.

September 15, 2011 visit by former President of the federal republic of Nigeria, General Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo to the home of the in-law of the slain leader of the Boko Haram, Babakura Fuggu in Borno State.

*As Obasanjo concluded his secret meeting the previous day at the Green House with three other religious group [Jamatu Nasir Islam, JNI and CAN] in Jos, the capital of Plateau State on the Wednesday of September 14, 2011, and took off the following day to Borno State.

*The wife of former/late Boko Haram's leaders inlaw, Yakolo, was said to have received money from the former president(Obasanjo) to the tuned of N500,000.

*Also, sources who revealed to our correspondents of Jerry Gana’s bailing of Mohammed Yusuf following his November 2008’s arrest by the Nigerian Police Force [NPF].

*To this, the spoke person for the NPF, Emma Ojukwu told sources that “the courts gave him bail not the police. We don’t know why the courts keep giving him bail.

* is not certain who may be the exact sponsors of the Boko Haram group but the financially rich lifestyle of Mohammed Yusuf points to the certainty of his group being sponsored by a financial heavy weight. This is as sources have reported that Yusuf takes in N500,000 daily while schooling his children in western countries outside Nigeria.

*What about Jerry Gana?
The man that bail late boko haram leader Muhammad Yusuf atleast twice from detention, we know the time he went to Muhammed yusuf house straight from the airport and return
back to airport after they have a closed meeting, the security attached to him testify that.

*We can still remember the time he transfer 500 milion naira to late boko haram leader, Governor at that time though for politics reason, leaked the issue to public.

*He was also the last caller of Muhammad Yusuf.

*Prof. Dauda of Benue have also told us about Maita tsine, he said when he was a secretary of CAN , he was there when Maitatsine was recruited at Italy by france and US. We don't blame ordinary christian but USA, while Jerry Gana is a chair member, we know Jerymaya Husain is also a suspect.

Who ever read this would have by now know the real origin and sponsors of Boko Haram, also, there was a time when President Goodluck Jonathan says "we know the bomb blast sponsors," and after each bomb blast, Boko harm claims responsibilities! Yes, he really knows the sponsors, but does notting on that! That means he is also among the sponsors.

Not only that, the US is said to wipe Boko haram soon, some people are happy about that, while I will tell you that the US will not only wipe Boko Haram, but will proceed to wipe out the States, thereby causing an endless war which will only lead to high death rate of Nigerian citizens, and at that time, the US will gain total control of the nation, and that is what they want because of our natural resources! Thereby keeping us as slaves, because of our greedy leaders, you guys might not get what I mean, but when it comes practically, you will once remember me, GEJ if the US gain what they want na that time them go blow you and you will remember say I made a post that you think I don't know what I'm saying!
