One example, usually groups who do polling averages use "likely voter (LV)" polling models over "registered voter (RV)" polling models if a poll does both. The Likely voter model tends to be more accurate as it polls those who are registered but "more likely to vote". RCP (for clear reasons -keep their conservative sponsors happy) at times uses the RV poll instead of the LV poll if both exist for a poll.
Like the current Marquette poll.
The Likely Voter model has Harris up 53-47. Harris +6
The Registered Voter model has Harris up 52-48. Harris +4
Guess which Marquette poll they chose for their average. The Registered Voter one. lol
