My friend is married to a Chinese American woman. When we go out together, he usually asks her if she needs anything so he can buy it for her on the way back to their place. If she needs something, she calls him to ask. Their relationship has been established; they are not just starting out. She isn’t asking him to buy her an expensive phone or a car. it's just for him order a pizza for around £10 or less.

This expense isn’t going to break his bank at all. He should be able to do these little things for her, and she should be able to reciprocate as well.
