Incidentally, no one will accuse Nigeria of being socialist. Many would even claim government does not own the majority of businesses. But free education, and subsidized fuel and electricity, and labor subsidy (Youth Corps) are socialist policies, and government officials own the largest companies. Like most so called socialist nations, we are a mix.

You just can't leave the poor and unprivileged to their own survival or their dead bodies will stink up your capitalism and make it unprofitable. And you can't have no social government intervention, or no one will monitor what's in the food capitalists sell you. A mix of both socialist and capitalist policies are necessary for a countries progress, or you'd have slaves.
