sniffydon: Hello guys am a silent reader here, i have an appointment with the US embassy on Monday but my travels dates has changed and its not possible to edit the DS160. My travel dates was suppose to be for the 18th May to the 28th May but after payment i found out i made a mistake and wrote 18th to 28th March. Gurus in the house please how do i go about it ?
Do i fill another DS160 and take with me to the US embassy on Monday?
Thanks With the US consulate it's really hard to change your travel plans. I'll advice you call them 1St to know what can be salvaged. If not, do a no show and reapply. |

Onicemus: please can someone help me out... i completed a DS160 form and was given a confirmation page, and i went ahead to book an appointment too, after like two days i had to change some important info in the form concerning who would sponsor the trip and my home address too and a new confirmation page was given to me, should i take the two confirmation pages to the embassy or what do i have to do please?? im so worried and the appointment is in two weeks time.... please serious suggestions Call the embassy ASAP, since last year they discontinued the method of going to the interview with a different Ds160 confirmation on your appointment letter and they won't correct at also at the embassy on that day. Here's the number 014406218 be prepared to answer a brief set of questions like ur passport number, mrv etc... |

DCTrendy: Hello guys, plz help me.
My interview is around the corner.
I will be going for a conference in IL, its a big show n related to wot i do here. I have registered and got a confirmation of registration from the organiser, but they dont send IV. Just confirmation of payment for the show.
And I have got a business associate in FL too, who wants me to visit him for business discussion and all as well before going to my conference. I will like to visit him first n be heading to IL from his place. He has given me his invitation addressed to the embassy starting i will be with him for 2 days before going to IL and book my hotel too.
Now here is my question.
Where re u going in the States, and your contact person: Who should i fill plz? The conference organizer in IL(i dont av their IV only confirmation of registration) or my friend Buz associate in FL(already gave me IV n hotel booking).
I want to submit the DSL 160 form shortly. Plz help.
Thanks. Bro, you need to know what your priority is, if anyone in the thread tells you what to fill then that person should be responsible when you fail, prioritize ur trip and intent and follow whats more important. based on your post whichever way you choose to apply is fine, but how far with your ties? Because that is what the VO's are trained to look at, for all they care you could be lying about your trip & intent. For the other question u asked, you can use whatever confirmation you got, just let the VO know that it was all you got after payment. Goodluck! |

OmoBendel24: Okay, I get now. We are saying almost about the same thing except that you are calling it a DS160 100% correction possibility. It is not. That is generating a new ID and filling another form oh Yea, it generates a new ID but you aren't filling another form, as soon as you get in to your retrieved application all that you previously filled is there, hence you can just make corrections and save. Then there comes a new ID. really don't know why they made it so! |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Beniyoha01(m): 6:39pm On Mar 22, 2016 |
OmoBendel24: Avoid stories that touch as it is now, going by LadyGuinivere's "downside 2". Click on create new application, jot down the new application ID so generated, fill the new form, most parts generally will be auto-populated by what you filled in your previous application. Correct that which needs to be corrected as you move from page to page. Then put that call through when done and equipped as advocated by BenIyoha01 so that the technical team comes to your aid. Let's save all of us some stress here. Seye, we yet await your response all the same Perfect.... you are spot on! |

thanks for you response. but my question has been:
1) how can i correct the errors in DS 160form? how can i make the embassy to use the new or correction DS160 form for a new appointment date that i will chosse?
2) how can i schedule for a new appointment? I already answered all these bro.... 1) If you cant retrieve fill up another one . 2) With the number i provided Call the embassy to help you change your DS160 and your appointment date, Chikena! |

OmoBendel24: Details please. After this your picture, you click on the highlighted, abi? Then what pops up? If you already submitted previously, you are then left with two options. Either to view "confirmation page" or "create a new application". So, how then do you edit/make corrections without generating a new application ID (DS160 number I mean)? It will ask you some basic question 1st of which is Your Application ID (DS160 confirmation), next is the SECURITY QUESTION (you'll have to provide the answer to the security question you chose when filling the DS160 you want to correct) I.e What city was your 1st job? and also it would ask for your passport number and .... bang, you in correcting it. Drawbacks are: when done It would give a new DS160 confirmation number different from the old one. : You cant change your travel plans information and your family info. |

kooljay5: i have not cancelled any before. Its going to be the first cancellation that i will do. So you don't cancel in error and loose your N31,200 MRV fee, rather make them do it for you. The options for Schedulling are 1) Go online and DIY, 2) Call the embassy to schedule for you. Since you've used number 1 already explore number 2 now. |

kooljay5: hello bro, i have retrieved the DS160 form i filled, but there was no space to make corrections to the errors. the info i am getting is that the form has been submitted and i cannot make corrections on it. please advice. I think you din't do something right... retrieving and correcting is a possibility with DS160's. However, fill up another DS160 and use the method i stated to update the new ds160 you filled to your appointment confirmation. Also inform them when you called that you wanna shift your date... Goodluck bro... On another sad note, RIP to all those who lost their life in Brussels today |

OmoBendel24: @BenIyoha01 & LadyGuinivere, does the applicant really have to call or email to have this done going by the bolded? Methinks all kooljay5 needs to do is to edit profile by changing the DS160 number to reflect the new one filled and then reschedule the appointment date by self. Correct me if I'm wrong please. Or has times changed without me knowing? That's the old skool method, the ustraveldocs site does not allow anyone to update their profiles themselves anymore... the only easy and fast way out is to call them to update it. The email thingy too works but they often don't reply your mail or it takes a longer time because they need some specific info from you to do the update which includes PASSPORT NO, NEW DS160 CONFIRMATION CODE, MRV N0, DATE OF BIRTH. it could be more or less but it's easily done when you call. |

schoolshoes4u: Hello and goodmorning to everyone in the house..
I have been an avid but silent follower and must admit that I have learnt alot during my time here.
I work for an Oil & Gas, (Energy Management) company here in Lagos and I wish to apply for a B1 Visa, after my previous F1 denial in May 2015. I was to go and study for my masters program in a University in Michigan but it didn't work out. So I applied to study for my MBA in Unilag and have since commenced studies.
I have searched for conferences on Power & Renewable Energy via a couple of conference websites, but the conference registration fees I see on there, is discouraging. As I cannot afford to spend $700 - $1000 to register for a conference and at the end of the day, the visa will not be approved.
There are conferences in Business Management (related with my MBA program) that are cheaper (and I can risk) but I as I have read on here, one must attend conferences that inline with one's career. So I don't know what to do now.
Can anyone advise of any link to get cheaper, more affordable conferences? Or generally advise on what I could do, based on my profile..
Thanks. I'll implore you to keep checking until you find one which you can afford... Trust me, they are there. And since you are more of a professional than a student now I'll advice you make it align with your job role than your MBA program. |

worry359: Yes a good Idea. He should give full details for guidance from the visa officer. Here is the link. https://www.nairaland.com/2669622/u.s-immigration-questions-ask-u.s/25 Sorry Linaluv, seem like you are already using your lovers name as moniker... Like the popular saying goes, age is just a number! I wish my grandma was alive I would have match made you both, but the only bad thing is that she's Nigerian so you might not need her at that age. But realistically, What is bad is BAD and irrespective of how you feel someone must and should tell you the truth. Anyway, maybe you'll learn it bitter if not at the Immigration thread mos-def at the embassy. Goodluck. |

OmoBendel24: Upload a/any picture, as long as it doesnt meet standard, it will be bounced, then the "continue without a photo" option becomes active. Better yet, go to a photo studio, snap a US embassy standard photo, ask them to send/download it to you so you can upload it yourself. The earlier we all start learning to upload the photos ourselves, the better for us all because the submission of DS160 form "without a photo" model is being phased out gradually now. Cheers Perfect.... |
