seyewest: @LadyG make una take am easy.... About the conference I think I will like to add my 2 cent.
*First, If you registered for a conference that's not part of your work or you don't have in dept knowledge of pls just forget about it.Because you maybe denied at the embassy or POE.
*Secondly due to Nigeria problem with forex you may have to pay for conference above $300 twice which means you will share your card details with the organizer or send it to their account if you can or western union it to them hopefully they will receive it.
*Thirdly, You will need the letter of invitation at POE and expect some questioning.
*Also it's important that you have strong ties in your home country.
I think there's a lot of scam conference on conferencealert.com what you have to do is go on google and type what you do and add conference to it, you will see a lot of real conference I'm sure of that. DISCLAIMER: Please, I've never used conferencealert.com before only heard about it too, just in case you get scammed there no be me oooo! my own training came direct from my organisation. |

LadyGuinivere: Thanks Benny for the inf relating to procedure. That was the info I was asking him for. I wasn't analysing the transcript. Just wanted the info out there so people could refer to the page and be guided Yeah @LadyGuinivere... I was only clarifying that part (for those reading/learning) so they don't think the conference visa is just given that easy as it appears in andyjyd's case. They literally will grill you and in some case they just bounce you immediately. Na part of the help naim i add o.... |

LadyGuinivere: Congrats Andy. Please a favour. Lotsa folks always ask questions about conferences. Can u kindly tell us how and if u paid, how u got the conference and any other info for other conference appliers (sic) *Typically you have to pay *It must or should relate to your course of study or line of work *you must have indepth knowledge of what the conference is about and what you stand to benefit *lastly www.conferencealert.com can help you And also IMO i think @andyjyd got his visa based on his Travel history, Family ties and his age. The VO asked him nothing about the conference, worse is the VO didn't even make him talk about his job role this is very atypical for people applying for conference/training. So other intending conference users should not base their judgment on @andyjyd's case. |

LadyGuinivere: Again. Visas can be verified between agencies and embassies. So either the vo was in a foul mood or the poster truly is innocent. They are in the best position to know. If they have carried a fake uk visa, and its been noted, na them go pay for it with MANY MANY subsequent refusals I'll also add that people be careful who you tie your visa's with so you don't have future problems at POE/Dropbox. For instance if he had once or did have fake sticker(s) on his passport you must know that his profile is now tied to yours automatically, this could bring up questions. You can't completely vouch for anyone's integrity except yourself only. Nigerians have done crazy worse things for visa. But as ladyG posted above, reapply after 3 months and let the VO know about the supposedly wrong accusation. |

If it's conference/training, going early may raise eyebrows! Visa's been running from the day you interviewed |

barbrachad: i did an application in august before we got married and i was given the visa, so we used the same format for him.also still Confused on why the VO was only asking questions about his uk visa, saying it was fake and he was used the visa for 3 years without any issue I sincerely think there's more to this case than what meets the eye... it could be one of his entry to the UK or something not visibly clear. These VO's know and have seen countless of UK visas and know how to spot a fake one or not. Questions are: * Is the UK visa sticker crisp or rumpled? * Did the passport fall into water? * Has he applied to the US before with fake stickers? |

bjhaid: went for interview today ..the angry v.o denied me Transcript v.o-where are you going? me-chicago what cld have been my mistake pls? The denial has no links with the VO's anger, my colleague went yesterday and the VO had to talk down at the guy before him because he refused to leave after being denied, the VO got angry and my colleague was scared it will rob off on him but fortunately it did not, he got it! The problems spotted in your case are: 1) Not married 2) Not working 3) Final year students have far more things to worry about (Project, Exams & graduation) 4) Travel history 5) Purpose of trip (It wasn't important for you to attend your brothers wife's graduation, Intent was really trivial but could still pass if you had good ties or luck) |

And what really do you mean by: ( we used my application form which i used to process mine for him) ? |

Unfortunately the form for my mum timed out and i didn't write down the application reference number, - Please is there a way to retrieve it? - if i start a new application, will it still show as family application - should i just start a new application for my Dad and resubmit since I haven't yet paid the visa fee. Thank you Since you haven't booked an appointment yet... it's safe to restart the whole thing. Also have in mind that it times out after 20 minutes so it's advisable to get all the info you need before you start... Safe! |

LadyGuinivere: Its good u know about the 90 day clause. Please note that the change required is a CHANGE IN YY @Rukeme, irrespective of your new and genuine study/training opportunity applying so soon will make you seem desperate. trust me, the VO's don't have the patient to know how important or how genuine the training is, to them... you are oozing desperation (with a sudden change of story). Give it some time! |

LadyGuinivere: @mobendel thanks for that post. Remember we always speak based on opinions. Mine is based on the fact that's more is better than less. One may not meet a 'happy' vo. But all in all, na dem gats to decide Exactly, @OmoBendel I 100% know it's possible to travel while pregnant and if you remember i'd stated it in an old post here... but the way you coined the 1st post made it look like the couple are confused as to what they really wanted, if you had stated it like the transcript you posted then it's another case entirely. However, US visa in some cases are just mere luck not even about qualification. I read a transcript on another Nairaland thread about a woman who was denied and she went on ranting to the VO that "whats special about American sef, is it because i want to spend my money their and your are acting as if it's a special place" and the VO told her i'll approve your visa just so you can see whats special about America. That's how crazy it goes! |

OmoBendel24: Okay, seen. Good! But vague ke? She wants to go on Easter holiday right now for 12days (thought she's entitled to that? She no fit go vacation again because of early stage pregnancy?), intends letting the VO know she's already 9wks gone (that's the snag that is scaring them big time), as well as answering in the affirmative if asked whether she will be birthing in the US, she wants to tell the VO without mincing words that that will be the purpose of her next visit later in the year (dem go don do all the necessary by then for sure). They have the resources available and to show if need be that if the pregnancy was due as of now, they are ready for the birthing expenses. Only say dem never go official with all necessary party involved at the US end yet! But she just wan first go holiday now and is fully prepared to apply as such now. Na that pregnancy be the consideration now They are reading our discussions now too Vague cos you actually brought in the US delivery twist... everything eventually sounded vague! |

gravity007: Hello house, I just got a B1/B2 Visa with my wife. During the interview we were asked if she was pregnant and I said 'No' But I am nursing the intention of giving birth in the States if or when she gets pregnant even though we would still go for vacation first in New York as i told them during the interview. My question now is that if we want to give birth in the States do I have to send an email to the embassy stating my intention or just pay hospital bills and show evidence at Point of Entry? Please advise. Thanks 1. If you already have a B visa, you are advised to write a Notification/Change of Intent email to the embassy(If you declared your intent to give birth in USA during your the visa interview then you don't need to send a letter to the embassy) but if you have withheld this info during the visa interview then letter of intent is not a shortcut. Use these addresses LagosNIV@state.gov and /or Consularabuja@state.gov This correspondence and the reply is carried by the traveler to the point of entry (POE) *For the format of the said letter, kindly use the search button on top or below this page and key in the key words. You will have to search until you see the info which has been posted by several users. |

segee77: I went for my interview today in Abuja, i was denied. Transcript. Vo........ Why are you going to michigan
Me...... Vacation and also visiting a friend there Vo........ Is she your girlfriend. Me......... No she is my long time friend, we attended the same school together and she is married with kids. Vo...... Are you married me..... Yes Vo........... How did your wife feel about your travelling. Me....... She is very busy with her work for now, no free day. Vo........ What did you do. Me........ I own my own business, blah blah blah Vo......... What is your income. Me......... Averagely 380k per month. Vo.... .... Have you travel before. Me........... No. Vo............ We're sorry you're not eligible for usa for now blah blah blah, put the green form in between my passport. They denied most people today in Abuja, just two people were given in my present out of over 100. Please advise. Thanks IMO i spotted just 2 contentious reason why the VO disapproved. (1) Purpose/Intent of travel Married man going to see a female married friend. Also you'll be vacating but without your wife. (2) Travel history You'll most-def need an extra stance of luck to convince the VO. You COULD reapply later in the year stating same reason(s) for travel but this time with your wife AND if possible have a better travel history before then. |

The VISA UNITED FC NOTE: if we always advice people to read old posts we should expect less visa questions, in my case I asked not a single question cos the old transcript answered all my questions and dowsed my doubts. Moving forward... Here are my observations: 1) answering questions with venom or anger 2) attacking other pples point or solution in a rude and derogatory manner. 3) assuming your point is final and can't be challenged. 4) criminalizing pples motives or application when you can easily talk them out of their ideas. @ancestorial
I'll advice you reapply only IF....
*you haven't applied before with a previous story that does not correlate
*the meeting is true and not a hoax or an agent arranged meeting.
But on a deeper look the meeting thing seem more like the issue... From your transcript the Vo did not ask you to talk about what the meeting is all about. You were also not asked any question seeking to ascertain your true knowledge of your profession. Are you sure this is ur 1St application?
My suspicion is born outa the fact that this Vo did not cross examine your intent, u were only asked question that already existed on ur ds160 and this may be due to ur aura, persona and charisma or past.
Just my opinion. |
