Alex Otti, the Labour Party governor of Abia State, was captured alongside President Tinubu in a meeting held between the President and the 36 governors of Nigeria on Wednesday at the State House, IGBERETV reports.

Labour Party's Honourable Amobi Ogah, a House of Representatives member who is representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in Abia state has praised Nigeria's President, Bola Tinubu for his leadership qualities.

Hon. Ogah said;

“Well, I can tell you that today is my best day, today I’m so happy that I’m an elected member seeing my President talking. In fact I’ve never knew that this man is so intelligent. I’ve never knew that this man is so Prepared to serve this country I saw the love, I saw the character, I saw the the Charisma, the believe that Nigeria can be a better nation. So I’m so glad that the meeting we have today is going to take us a little bit to a more stabilized house. Now, Even without talking to us again, we’ve agreed that we are going towards the government decision. Not minding, I’m of Labour Party. As at now, the party is not the issue; we’re talking about building the Nation, we’re talking about the unity of the Nation.”

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Jigawa Command, has arrested a 23-year-old labourer, Isyaku Lawal (Dan Babani) for sodomising a 9-year-old boy in Chiro, IGBERETV reports.

Spokesperson of the Corps in the state, CSC Adamu Shehu, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, said the suspect was arrested on Sunday, at Chiromari village, in Malam Madori Local Government Area of the state.

According to CSC Shehu, the offence is contrary to section 284 of the PCL of Jigawa State and punishable under same.

“The arrest was prompted upon receipt of a complaint lodged by the father of the victim, who stated that his daughter, an elder Sister to the victim, reported to him that her sibling was sexually abused by the suspect,” the statement read.

"Upon questioning, the boy stated that he was taken to an isolated place in the evening while he was playing alongside his friends by the suspect who removed his trousers and had canal knowledge of him, thereafter urged him not to tell anyone and promised to buy him sweets, a promise which he failed to fulfill and which made him to expose the incident to his sister.

"Meanwhile, medical examinations conducted at Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) at General Hospital Dutse shows repeated rectal penetrations and bruises in the anal area.

“The suspect has confessed to the crime and will be charged to court of competent jurisdiction to expedite justice.”

Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), an Igbo apex socio-political youth group has declared June 5 for a two million march in Abuja to press home their resolution that the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Kalu, should emerge as the Senate President in the 10th National Assembly, IGBERETV reports.

The group resolved that, Kalu, who represents Abia North Senatorial District, is consensus candidate of the people of South-East for the position of the Senate President.

The group made the declaration following its general meeting in Owerri.

COSEYL, in a communique, said it had resolved that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress should zone the Senate President’s position to South-East for fairness, equity and justice.

The communique, which was signed by the President General of the Igbo youth groups, Goodluck Ibem, Secretary, Ndubuisi Uche; and Publicity secretary, Okey Nwaoru, also called on President Bola Tinubu to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, for medical treatment.

The group said, “The leadership of the All Progressive Congress should zone the position of the Senate President to South-East geopolitical zone and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the current Senate Chief Whip, is the consensus candidate of the people of South-East. This will ensure fairness, equity and justice.

“We are going all out for a two-million-man March in support of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. We not only believe that it is the turn of the Igbo to produce the next Senate President, judging by the current political arrangements in the country, we solely believe that Orji Kalu is the most suitable for the position of the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Nigeria's President, Bola Tinubu and his wife, Remi Tinubu entertained their fans with their amazing dance steps at the presidential inaugural ball held at the State House Conference Center in Abuja on Monday, IGBERETV reports.

"It was a dark day in my family today. My younger brother Christian Ugbede Abuka was involved in a fatal accident on his way back from Kwara state for his NYSC documentation and he died. This resulted in his mother death. Nothing to say but to thank God." he wrote.
