Politics › Senator Urhoghide Dumps PDP For APC by Benwallt(op): 8:46pm On Sep 18, 2023 |
The Senator who represented Edo South Senatorial District between 2015 and 2023, Matthew Urhoghide has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Urhoghide who had earlier renounced his membership of the PDP about four months ago, formally defected to the APC on Monday, September 18, 2023.
The former Senator was received at APC’s Ward 2 secretariat on Airport Road, Benin, Edo State by the state chairman of the party, Col. David Imuse (rtd.), in the company of two former Edo deputy governors, Dr. Pius Odubu and Chief Lucky Imasuen, as well as the running mate to the state’s governorship candidate of APC during the September 19, 2020 governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Alhaji Gani Audu, and other leaders of the party.
He formally registered as a member of the APC during the reception and intends to contest the 2024 Edo State governorship election on the platform of the party.
Why I Left PDP Speaking on why he dumped the PDP, Senator Urhoghide explained that some disagreements over some issues forced him out.
He however added that a founding member of the APC, he was glad to be back home.
He said: “When I resigned from the PDP in May, I said I was going to join another political party, so long as I remain in partisan politics.
After a careful evaluation of what is going on in Edo State, I decided to go back to the party that I was a part of its building. I am a founding member of APC. This is where I really have my political friends and associates. I came to rebuild APC.
“I am not rejoining APC alone, but moving with my teeming followers and supporters. There is no ward in the entire 77 wards in Edo South Senatorial District that I did not site a project, while I was in the Senate.”
Edo chairman of APC, in his remarks, urged other members of the party, who were on exile, voyage, and sabbatical leave, to return home to the party. https://pmnewsnigeria.com/2023/09/18/edo-ex-south-senator-urhoghide-returns-to-apc-after-8-years-in-pdp/?amp=1

Earthquakes: If you say deservely can you mention to me how Tinubu won Rivers state?? A state in war with APC more than 8yrs now?? How many Yorubas are in Rivers to compare to Igbos or other South? So when you want to talk, don't just deceive yourself, if election was free and fair, from polling unit with irev transparency, PO will see his loosing in real time and no one will have to go to court and save everyone time and money. So even if PO lost, did you ask what happened to money budgeted for the irev and why it didn't work, is this how a country grow or because it benefits your person. I pray what we support happen to us Amen. If you used that parameter, then you are not saying the truth. River's people can decide to vote whoever they deemed fit. If they are at war with APC, are they at war with Tinubu the presidential candidate of the APC. The arrowhead of the war you talked about - Wike who Rivers don't joke with pitched his tent with the candidate of APC no APC itself as a party. The same factor was replayed by the people of Rivers thereby giving victory to APC in the state. LP won Lagos, are you telling me igbos outnumbered Yorubas in Lagos? Everywhere LP won aside southeast, are you telling ibos outnumbered every other tribes in those states? |

Advancedman: Not hard work but simply stop hating and be humane for once, facing fact truth and reality.
Who even invented the notion that they are hated? Yet they are everywhere thriving in their respective endeavors. What they needed to do is very simple. Just flip the coin, let the people at the front now find their way to the back where they suppose to have been and the people at the back come to the front. In a layman language, the eastern youths have reduced their elders they are supposed to be learning from to nothing, they have pushed the elders who would have applied wisdom in handling issues the the back while they(youths) in their misguarded exuberance have elevated themselves above the elders. If that decadence can be arrested, a new front is possible. |

We speech inclusiveness and a United country, but the politicians are the ones driving us apart with their selfish and self-centred nature. There is nowhere the igbos have no drag Hausa/ Fulani to in the name of politics. They even said 500 HausaFulani is equal to 1 Ibo man.
