The point is that, you can't compare their father's time to our own time. Men were more in control and not under today's pressure that we men are subjected to. There were even very few women driving cars but today, things have changed.
So, men will be expected to foot mostly unnecessary bills. If you see a woman who says a man who earns 500k monthly is not useful for marriage, pls face front and let her be. Even though, you are very right but if Iran truly acquires nuclear weapons, the tendency for them to use it is really high and most especially against either Israel or US or both. Unlike North Korea that is more stable as a country and rarely goes on the offensive. Most of these countries including the US have nuclear weapons, they just don't make so much noise about it as Iran has done lately.

Most medical students have this support base you can always count on no matter what.
Remember during my days as a medical student, no matter how tough things are, Muslim student society and Fellowship of Nigerian medical student always come to people's aid.
They have patrons who will pay your school fees if your matter is escalated to them.
I know several rich kids who helped their friends pay school fees multiple times.
For a student to drop out in 500 level due to school fee? E go hard.

It is not impossible but sounds really unbelievable and heartbreaking to read this story. He was almost done, though at toughest stage. 1yr and final year are kind of the most difficult years in school.

Can this be true? To drop out at 500level? I used to teach in private schools around Jakande Estate Isolo during my undergraduate days. I lost my dad in yr1-1st semester and mum got retired same year. Thursdays and Fridays were my teaching days and I couldn't go to school cos I had to go teach to get funds to transport myself and also feed for the following week (Monday - Wednesday), I was off-campus.
I know it would be really hard but to have survived till 500level and then drop out is unbelievable.
I knew quite some people who were self trained/self-sponsored and even did better than me.
I knew of a guy who was an orphan and was self-sponsored but was very disciplined and determined that he made 1st class. This was all in a federal university in Lagos.
