"They Tricked us Into Fighting Igbos During Civil War" - Middle Belt Group Says They Are Not Part of Northern Nigeria THE WAY FORWARD Chikwendu Chukwudi A Nation at War with Self THE United Middle Belt Youth Congress (UMBYC), a group at the forefront of mapping out the North Central geopolitical zone as Middle Belt has lampooned the north for lining up soldiers from the zone against the Igbos during the Nigerian civil war. They said the core north easily achieved this by exploiting the command structure of the military and manufacturing fear that Biafra is out to overrun them. "We know the ignorant years that have passed when we went to war. When they mobilised us to war and told us 'ah they want to terminate you people. The Igbos are majority and in fact they are coming to swallow you people'" "A lot of us went to the bush to fight. I know how many families of our brothers that we lost in that war. Not to talk about our other brothers, the Igbos who we went to fight ignorantly." The president-general, Abuka Omababa disclosed this during a courtesy visit of the group to The Moment in Ogudu, Lagos recently saying that the hackneyed concept of 'one north' was also crafted with the connivance of the British to mislead the rest of the country into believing an existence of a gigantic and awesome 'north'. He added that while it was disheartening enough that they were manipulated into a fratricidal war with the Igbo, the Hausa/Fulani 'were in Sokoto and Kano relaxing and watching the two of us kill each other.' The group consequently declared that the days they were play-thing in the hands of 'the North' are over for good. They therefore extend a hand of fellowship to other ethnic nationality groups in Nigeria saying that 'without us there is no north; no Middle Belt, no North. If we remove ourselves they are disconnected from Nigeria. So we are the bridge. We have served as the bridge.' The group said that serial cases of religious intolerance in the north are championed by the Hausa/Fulani who are moulded to perceive non-Muslim practitioners with distaste. They dissociated the Middle Belt from it saying they see others as members of a single humanity rather than with religious or other colourations. http://www.africaundisguised.com/newsportal/story/they-tricked-us-fighting-igbos-during-civil-war-middle-belt-group-says-they-are-not-part-north
[b]WHY DO THE MIDDLE BELT GOVERNORS STILL ATTEND THE NORTHERN GOVERNORS FORUM ![]() ?[b] |

buzugee: ambiguous topic. there are bible verses advocating for what you said and there are bible verses advocating for prosperity. matter of fact, the other day i stumbled onto job 36 vs 8-11 (thanks to goshens topic on dagons) and in those verses it says if you are a righteous person and are experiencing misery, its because you are doing something wrong in your life. however if your life is on point, you should live out your days in comfort and prosperity.if what you are saying is correct why all the castigation and aspersions against Pastors in this nairaland if Job 36v11,mark 10v29 and 2cor8v9 is true and xtians look helpless. ANYWAY it is only a tree(mango or orange etc) that has fruits(profits) that receives stones and sticks(criticism, envy, jealousy and hatred).. RIDE ON PASTOR ADEBOYE,RIDE ON BISHOP OYEDEPO |

The best combination for couples is that one should be working, while the other should be self employed, Imagine where a husband and wife who are workers in different industries(companies) gets laid off due to recession,reconstruction,re-engineering or retrenchment which happens on a monthly basis. Therefore i suggest the man to be a self-employed business man and the wife if she wants to work should work in a Govt parastatal or ministry where there is no much pressure of work like the BANKERS who get so much pressure and are easily laid-oof whenever there is a new CBN Governor or downturn in the economy |
GET GOD INVOLVED Our next mentor, a fascinating real estate billionaire, is in the queue, as I hinted in my last article. I felt impelled, however, to let you in into some very valuable thoughts emanating from my circle of mentors and advisers. They should help you to maximise whatever tips you might have picked from my series on how to invest wisely in 2010. They say it is the little foxes that spoil the show and you would do well to guard against that small stuff that can throw spanners into your life’s works. Over the past couple of weeks, I had been paying scheduled visits to some of my mentors and a number of my advisers. My goal basically, was to pick their brains. I wanted to find out what I had missed out in few areas over the years so that I could correct them. I had not seen a couple of them for an upward of 10 months even though we chatted occasionally on phone. What I found out were quite revealing, and I believe they would help you too to normalise few things that have gone wrong either in your business or personal life. I have been able to distill their observations and comments into about 30 nuggets that you should not only read, but you should make your commandments for life and business. I believe the tips were genuinely and frankly shared with me. Just before I start out on the tips, let me share these observations with you. During my discussion with one of mentors (He is a consultant of international repute who just retired a few years back) in his office in Ikoyi, Lagos, I asked why he had not shared with me before what he was now sharing, his reply was surprising: “My advice is available to those who ask for it. I could not advise you on what you did not ask me about.” That to me is a very big lesson. It means that help is always available to those who care to ask for it. It also means you can be consumed by adversity in the midst of wise counsels. I hope that sinks. Always ask for help when you need one. It can be in the area of career, business and life generally. The second observation: I had gone on appointment to see another mentor (sorry, business coach!) to discuss a few issues. He listened to me attentively, but surprisingly, he did not answer any of my questions. He observed that I had not been following most of the advice he had been giving to me without getting back to him on my reason for that. He said he would like to play the role of a coach and not a mentor and what that would mean was that he would give me an assignment and I would have to discuss my progress on that before giving me another one. His concern was that a protégé could go off tangent even in the face of multitude of counsellors. The highpoint of the meeting was that he asked me to close my diary for a week to attend a coaching class he would be organising. I was there at his instance for a week, (9.00a.m. to 4.00p.m. daily). Listening to him pours his heart out on many life and business issues, it was a feeling of regrets that enveloped me. I was saying to myself, I had access to this person all those days and I was never able to access such incredible nuggets of wisdom from him. In any case what I picked in those five days were enough to last a lifetime. They form part of the 30 nuggets I would be sharing with you in the next few weeks as the time permits before I bring our next mentor on stage. Let us get going. TIP 1: Failure to give spiritual matters prioirities over material things. My business coach who is in the same line of business as I am was very emphatic on this issue of spiritual imperatives. His words: “I have tried all the sides and I can tell you that any man who does not take spiritual issues very seriously is wasting his time. I don’t care what it is you believe in. You must believe that there is an unseen force that has a hand in how your life turns and you would do well to learn how to relate with that Higher Power. You should believe this: that everything your hands can touch; everything your nose can smell; everything your eyes can see and, indeed, everything your senses can perceive is only a fraction of the possibilities. Far more things that you can imagine exist outside the physical plane and it is your responsibility to learn how to tap into that realm.” There are spiritual laws governing the universe and that is why you observe that certain things happen on their own accords. You don’t have to pray for rain to fall; rain would come down when the cloud is full. Night and day come on their own, whether you cooperate with it or otherwise. Animals know how to ride on the laws of nature to maximise their existence. It is only human beings that try to work against the laws and, of course, this belligerent attitude has dire consequences.” When I asked him to explain some of the spiritual principles one can apply he offered this: “Meditation is one of them. You must build this into your daily activities. At the end of everyday, spend some time, about 30 minutes or so, to reflect on what happened during the day and when you can afford it spend time alone to reflect on what you are doing, your life, your business and everything. If you do this regularly you would discover that you have access to information that you thought was not immediately available to you”. “The truth is that every one has a solution to whatever challenge he or she might face at any time if only he would take time to think and look within. Unfortunately, most people run helter-skelter at the slightest appearance of a challenge. They do not know that help is available to those who desperately and diligently seek it.” Next week, we are going to look at few more tips. |
My friend Salary is for productivity and solution, concentrate on convincing the panel with your skills, intelligence and experience rather than salary. |
Why is it that all these heads of agboro(NURTW) in Ibadan are moslems, Lateef,Mukaila,Lamidi, Why can't the xtians be violent as well |
Third Class Indeed 1 Did Bill Gate have 1st class in software/computer science? 2 Did Michael Dell have 1st class in software/computer science? 3 Did Warren Buffet Have 1st class in stock broking? 4 did cosmas maduka(coscharis) have any class in business 5 did Aliko Damgote have any class in cement/sugar/salt/spaghetti/transport business? What a shallow mind, As a man thinketh so is he, Because Nigerian Graduates attended a four-walled pry, secondary and tertiary school, they limit their lives to the four-sided CERTIFICATES. SALARY IS SLAVERY!!!! ONLY THE BOLD GET THE GOLD!!! |
SALARY vs SELF EMPLOYMENT, Which do you prefer For this reader's information 1 Salary is slavery no matter your position nor take home pay 2 you are P.O.O.R because you Pass Over Opportunities Repeatedly 3 Only the risk takers become rich 4 the rich don't work for salary, they work to gain wealth 5 Only the bold get the gold 6 Only the brave become great, famous and wealthy 7 Those with the lion heart get the lion share 8 I f you keep on waiting for job/salary in Bank ,oil & gas companies, you will keep on wasting your life. it never ceases to amaze me that people base their security in jobs. There's no such thing as job security. Anytime you work for someone else, I don't care how much your boss likes you, how well you do your job, or how well or poor the economy gets, you're always looking at an income cap and one pink slip away from possible financial devastation. Things change. People change. Circumstances change. The economy changes. Life happens. Have you ever heard the saying, "If it's meant to be, it's up to me?" Well, today more than ever, men and women need to evaluate their situation and their options for insuring financial security for their families. They really need to understand that if they seek true financial freedom, it's up to them personally, to create it and keep it. And I'm not talking about a job where it could be gone tomorrow. I'm talking about making a decision to be their own boss in which they hold all the cards. I'll be the first to tell you that not everyone is cut out for entrepreneurship, however, there's a great deal of people who have entertained the idea throughout their lives and it's these people I'm talking about. Some have acted on those dreams and perhaps have failed, and then others have thought about it but have never taken that first step. What is it that has people so frozen in their dreams of home business ownership, that they stay in a broken work force? They seem so sure that their security is in their jobs, when it's actually the other way around. Security is in working for yourself, being your own boss. But because we are taught from childhood how to be good employees, dreams of entrepreneurship are quashed and most people lack the skills and belief system it takes to be successful in that arena. And, because of that, would-be entrepreneurs never achieve all that they were destined to be. This is a tragedy. Let's put entrepreneurship v. a job in perspective here and do a quick comparison. WORKERS/CAREER ORIENTED/EMPLOYEES This group of individuals invest thousands of dollars on education and give up years of their life to classroom study to be able to enter their career field where they become enslaved. From this point forward, these workers will be told what to do for the next 40 years. It will be dictated as to how much they can earn which determines when, where and for how long they vacation, the type of car they drive, the home they live in, and the effects ripple down even to the food on the table and gifts under the tree at Christmas. Oh, and now they have school loans to pay for years. HOME BASED BUSINESS OWNERS/ENTREPRENEURS/NETWORK MARKETERS This group of people invest trivial amounts of money (in comparison to a college education, I'm talking a couple hundred to a couple thousand, no big deal) in an opportunity, generally a network marketing or MLM company, they spend a relatively short amount of time learning skill sets, perhaps attend a seminar or two, begin on the job training immediately, enjoy the privilege of tax write offs, and best of all, does not get up to alarms clocks every morning to shower, shave and shine to head to the rat race. Nobody tells them what to do, what to wear, what they can earn, where they can vacation and their time is their own and there is no such thing as an income cap. If people would put their fears aside about being their own boss, they would be able to sit back and assess the situation and their options in a more rational way. When you look at the two comparisons, doesn't business ownership make better sense all the way around? So, the question these Moms and Dads have to answer as they scratch their heads searching for answers to their financial security is whether they choose Plan A, stay in the work force or Plan B, take control of their life through a business of their own. There is no Plan C. Isn't it worth rolling up your sleeves, learning some skill sets on how to effectively market online, choose a product and industry you are passionate about and create wealth from home? If you're one of those individuals who carry the entrepreneurial spirit deep inside, it's something to think about because it's here, in the home business industry, that one will find the real security. for free to start online businesses see |

seanet02:Mr Surveyer, i can see you have so much experience in surveying ,that is why you have a barrage of questions, anyway you have to leave the comfort of your home and office in Lekki and V/I and go to the grassroots to ask them their feelings. Come to Alimosho and see that it is only 3 weeks to election before they started patching the potholes that have been on the roads for the past three years and 11 months of BRF administration. |
