You call Labaran Maku articulate? We should redefine the meaning of being articulate.... Labaran Maku articulate!! Hia!!! ozoigbondu: |
Between 1999 - 2007 OBJ squandered $16 billion in his giagantic power projects that supposedly entered the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest power project any country could ever embark upon. To help you understand the magnitude of this crime on the Nigerian people, I recently bumped into a news on CCTV about Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam, and I then checked it online. The dam costs the govt. of Ethiopia $4.8 billion and it has an Installed capacity of 6,000 MW, well it's being constructed at a record time of 6 years and it is the biggest hydroelectric project in Africa currently. If this bloody govt. or the one before it, or even the one before the one before it had foresight, we won't be having this discussion of electricity in 2015. Just imagine $4.8 billion and imagine all the stolen funds in Nigeria, imagine the dollars being thrown away during this election.........! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Ethiopian_Renaissance_Dam If one extrapolates this to Nigeria, this project would be estimated to take 20 years and will never be completed. My point is all these past and present rulers are all failures. GEJ is the latest failure and has earned it real good. He had 6 years and should have corrected the power woes of Nigeria. I've critically looked at the power infrastructures we currently have and the privatization drive, we won't have stable power in the next 6 years, my earnest forecast, especially looking at the body language of politicians in Nigerians and how projects are being executed. Someone has to now accumulate the power expenditures under GEJ's 6 years to understand how much of a waste we have endured in this country, they run in billions of dollars. For a country like Nigeria and all the wealth at its disposal, crude oil sales et al, we deserve a whole lot. This is 2015 for God's sake, I'm shock of words for the African/Nigerian Dream.... Such a bleak one!! |
Sad to hear, wish sane Nigerians could do something to ease your pains ma'. Those responsible will surely pay with every iota of blood they've got in their veins. |
Regrettably with little being done about research in the continent, talk less of Nigeria, no anti-missile defense systems, some of the ABMs that would be heading for Western Europe might just end up going off course and guess where they're going to end up? The Black Continent.... Ho! Ho! Ho! |
Degrading when stuffs like this happen and the injured or dead are always conveyed in pickup vans rather than ambulances. What worries me most is the fact that the funds for such working tools are budgeted every fiscal year, yet no change in sight. What a country! |
It's a pity when I see stuffs like this. The Nigerian Police is underfunded, under-equipped and to make things worse the meagre funds allocated to them are looted by the top brass in the Force. You don't have to look far, just go to most Police Barracks in the country and see the living conditions of these folks. Yet, they are the tools for intimidation by the very civilian masters that deprive them of the very good things they so deserve as uniform men. It's just sad! |
No need marauding our foolishness across the globe. What happens in Naija, stays in.......~~ |
hmm!! |
on March 20, 2012 By Emma Ujah, Abuja Bureau Chief ABUJA — The Federal Government, yesterday, explained that the Strategic Concessioning of the nation’s waterways to Global West Vessel Specialist Agency, GWVSA, by Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, has not in anyway displaced the Nigerian Navy from performing its statutory security roles on the nation’s territorial waters. The Minister of Transport, Sen. Idris Umar, told journalists in Abuja, that contrary to speculations in many quarters, GWVSA would only provide platforms, security boats, equipment and expertise to help in securing the nation’s waterways and thereby raise revenue and that its staff will not bear arms. Besides, he disclosed that the company, said to be owned by ex-militant leader, Chief Government Ekpemukpolo (aka Tompolo) would provide the entire $103 million investment and would only get paid after surpassing NIMASA’s annual revenue collection profile. See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/03/why-we-awarded-waterways-contract-to-tompolo-fg/ or refer to: https://www.nairaland.com/896300/why-awarded-waterways-contract-tompolo Those were some of the first things GEJ did on assumption of office, I knew he was never going to get this country anywhere from inception. This story about outsourcing maritime security to Tompolo is not hidden. I wish I could get the TV interviews that supports these claims. They are unfortunately true and very unpatriotic. The President by this act weakens constituted institutions, by promoting an individual. If our Navy fails in its duty in the near future, these are some of the contributing reasons. You rather spend funds on Tompolo, than do so on our National Naval institutions. Decay is gradual and GEJ has contributed enormously to the decay of institutions in Nigeria. Outsourcing Maritime security to anybody, group of persons, et al, is illegal, unconstitutional and undermines the functions of the Nigeria Navy. |
Hmmm! |
I know one thing for sure GEJ and OBJ are both failures, between 1999 - 2007 OBJ squandered $16 billion in his giagantic power projects that supposedly entered the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest power project any country could ever embark upon. To help you understand how daft all the folks who have ran this country are, I recently bumped into a news on CCTV about Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam, and I then checked it online. The dam costs the govt. of Ethiopia $4.8 billion and it has an Installed capacity of 6,000 MW, well it's being constructed at a record time of 6 years and it is the biggest hydroelectric project in Africa currently. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Ethiopian_Renaissance_Dam If one extrapolates this to Nigeria, this project would be estimated to take 20 years and will never be completed. For a country like Nigeria and all the wealth at its disposal, crude oil sales et al, we deserve a whole lot. It's like a rich friend sending $1 million to another friend in the US to get him an exotic car, his friend ships down a Honda Discussion Continues grin and tells his friend back in Nigeria to bear with him that it is the best he can do with that amount. Just think about it!! These politicians are all shitheads!! Prof. Nebo is a shithead, dickhead and a crackhead for saying such! |
Don't panic about all these, PDP should be voted out. I can also remember the same party ceding Bakasi a Nigerian territory to Cameroon (that was during OBJ). This is not new, GEJ is continuing where OBJ left off, it is an opportunity to vote these classless set of leaders out of power. Don't let it slip by!! |
LRNZH:Just after the new year I was watching African Business Report on CCTV and I ran into the news. As a matter of fact the project manager is a lady who said it was estimated to be completed around 8 years or so, but the had to employ possible engineering wits to cut it down. As a matter of fact electricity will be running out of that facility around July. Compare that with the lack of political will in Nigeria, this project will be estimated to be completed in 20 years and 1 year would be used for ground breaking ceremony, another one year for unveiling of the project plaque, another 1 years to resettle communities, 1 years to move equipments on ground, by then it will be around electioneering period, then the President would commission the map of the projects - he'll get voted in for second term to complete the project. I don't know where we got it wrong? |
LRNZH:No worries on that! You know some foolks don't understand the magnitude of the funds stolen from Nigerian by past and present leaders (State Governors & LGAs inclusive), you need to measure them up with the worth of projects overseas. You'll then understand where we would have been by now. You can also look at this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_development_projects_in_Dubai We need to jail all these thieves for the backwardness they've cost our country! |

We'e not voting for a Muslim president, we're voting for a Nigerian!! |
Good for the Nigerian Air Force to quickly lay hands on this drone, so we can reverse engineer it. It will aid us leap into drone manufacturing and design (tweak our own GULMA UAV). I see good where others see bad!! |
This is basically why we have functional ranch and farms. If you need meat there are better ways to it. Get a ranch or a farm and rear, then harvest from there. The world has moved on, we're late and make no effort to catch on with the rest of the bunch. illicit: |
Must we kill everything on sight? Is the Hippo not supposed to be in its natural habitat. This is part of the Nigerian problem, "Divide and rule" even when there's no need to divide and rule, or should and I say "Kill and eat" even when you're not hungry. We need to keep the habitat balance, if you check properly, these dudes just might not need this Hippo meat - it's just the mentality. While growing up we usually had bush animals crawl up to our backyards and alot of folks can testify to these. What has happened over the years? The mentality of kill every bush meat, I doubt if we have a functional games reserve. |
Well, they'll always be political points here and there. The fact remains that before the assumption of GEJ into power it was undoubtedly proven that PDP did fail, but Nigerian thought GEJ would be able to tow a positive path, knowing full well that most of his political career has seen in a deputy role in a larger part. This was probably the first time he was going to assume a lead role. Having said that, Nigerians also thought that he was going to offer us something different going by his education, non-military history, and the guy kept mute all through the cabal saga (during the demise of Ya'ardua). Well, I for once thought GEJ would be decisive and head-on in dealing with Nigeria's lingering problem. So when the elections came, having known that OBJ had failed woefully, the slogan was "Vote the person, not the party", it was evident in 2011 that PDP was a total failure and had nothing to show Nigerians post 1999. I can speak for myself, I voted for GEJ in 2011 and I'm appalled by that decision. I'll try to correct it to send a clear message to all, that non-performance would be punished by the electorate. There're questions concerning Buhari, but I'll give him a try as well. It is evident, that if this administration is given another 4-years, reflecting on the impunity in which they have run the state, it'll be cataclysmic. Considering the fact that GEJ would prefer to fund Tompolo instead of Nigerian Navy, release El-Mustapha instead of keep him in jail, pardon Diepreye Alamieyeseigha instead of jail him, bring back Tony Anineh to govt. instead of jail him for his Mr. fix it fraud, jail subsidy thieves instead of letting them roam, say "The US Would Know if $20 billion is missing in Nigeria", instead of release the audit report, the list goes on and on. I'll give GMB a chance and overlook this, I hope he doesn't waste it too! Come jail all these thieves, IBB, OBJ, Atiku, 99% of past and serving governors, Chairmen of LGA (past and Present), Ministers (past & Present), et al. Only then can our children become politically aware that when you steal you get imprisoned, maybe we'll build a Nigeria where civility reigns and thieves are shown their place (Kirikiri). We need that foundation, where thieves are placed behind bars not given National Honors. |
The bullet proof vest he's wearing should have gone round to all policemen, alongside bullet proof police cars, the recent Bank Robbery At Ikare wouldn't have ended so bad. Let the electorate see for themselves, the protect themselves and neglect the system with our common wealth. |
They were supposed to have bullet proof vest and drive in bullet proof police cars, instead they procured Hilux vans, wield seats on their back, paint them and quote billions of Naira for their procurement ... Now, they don't have it because of the endemic corruption in the system. Someone must have cornered such funds to their private accounts. Well, this is just an example of what corruption does to a nation. Stealing is not corruption!! |
Nothing is done well in Nigeria, is it the type of war memorial you see in other countries. Just Google "War Memorial" on Google Images and compare. Why rush to do things? The boys were not properly equipped and funded in the first place, the dies. The military tactics being used against Boko Haram is fucking stupid, you don't need a military strategist to explain this. You fight a rag tag suicidal gang and you deploy 400 commandos, sometimes 800 commandos, et al. Look at France, 17 people dies and the President unleashes 10,000 strong armed forces and 5,000 police into the streets of France. No wonder our boys from France won't come back home On a serious note, compare and contrast the Iraqi war, America was loosing ground and then we had the Iraqi troop surge in 2007 - you saw the results (Bush ordered the deployment of more than 20,000 soldiers into Iraq, five additional brigades, and sent the majority of them into Baghdad. He also extended the tour of most of the Army troops in country and some of the Marines already in the Anbar Province area).Asides being the CinC and having all the think tanks around you, you'll need to know a little bit of everything to be a good leader. You need to look at the NE areas and cut these BH boys from supplies, choke them up on all front, get the military hardware out there and unleash 20,000 armed forces on them in a coordinated planned out military blanket. God save our daft leaders! |
It is clear Jonathan has failed, just look at the happenings in France, how many people died there? French President just ordered 10,000 armed forces and 5,000 police into the streets. Juxtapose that with our scenario, you'll hear the NA deploying 800 troops into an area to do what? They eventually get outnumbered, their barracks outgunned and the whole scene replays itself again, then another barrack gets outrun, and this keeps repeating itself. To the best of my knowledge, I heard we have around 162000 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_Armed_Forces armed force personnel. Why not set loose a good number on the NE to end this nonsense. Didn't our President read about the US Surge in Iraq in 2007 where Bush ordered the deployment of more than 20,000 soldiers into Iraq, five additional brigades, and sent the majority of them into Baghdad. Didn't he see the result. Even if we have only Kalashnikov in our arsenal, a well planned military surge will end this nonsese within a year. How many years did GEJ get? At one time BH was in Sambissa Forest, they refused to get in there and corner the bastards, now they occupy large territories. Just vote GEJ out. |
40 MW of electricity can power a small to medium sized town. 40 MW can supply any of these (I mean any of those, hence pick one of the options): - 8,000 average homes with central air --. (assumes 5 kW per home) - 400 fast food restaurants - 60 large retail stores - 50 grocery stores - 40 large home improvement stores - 2 Sears Towers - 1 computer data center Take your pick, or mix and match to make up 40 MW. Although US average is 1 kW per home, so 40 MW is enough for 40000 homes, not counting things like street lights, stores, etc. So you can extrapolate for an average Nigerian town. I don't find it sufficient, but what can we do at this particular juncture. Nigeria is in dire need of massive infrastructural investment one championed by the central government (not by the private sector). The central government pioneers, and the private sector should be made to follow. If only OBJ et al didn't scam Nigerians under their watch. For example, the power project that was piloted by the Obasanjo's government was the largest power project any country on earth could ever embark on. Where did that leave us? |
Unfortunate events! |
I'm just curios, why is the Nigerian President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, using the Translator Service at the UN General Assembly presently holding at the UNHQ whilst the United States President was making his Speech? What is English being translated into for Mr. President? I don't get it. |
Africa should be ashamed of itself and our leaders have failed us. How is it that at every instance, it is either France calling on African leaders for what they should ordinarily do (Security summit), or Sino-Africa summit, US-Africa summit..... Call it whatever name on earth, when would African leaders see the continent in its true light and start in earnest to develop it. Just look at us, at the instance of Ebola we have to turn to West for answers (why ain't our government investing genuinely on research, livable cities, subsidized education, power stabilization, fiber optics internet infrastructures, et al. What the f**k is $14 billion, how much was missing in NNPC. It's quite worrisome that the most populous black nation on earth that is supposed to advance the agenda for the black race is nothing but a shame. Our leaders are all failures, the better we realize this (as young people) and start working on producing vibrant and purposeful leadership, Africa would remain the toy-ground for all nations or regions of the world. $14 billion my arse, tomorrow UAE that just started developing right before us would also invite African leaders for summit and the cows would hop on a plane and go...! |
The emergence of World War Z! |
FYI Would rather him read the Bible than gangs, drugs & guns. A society without God leads to some of the ills we see in Nigeria. Some of the best colleges in the US were started by churches…Yale & Duke. |
