xyloxloto: what is in a name? MAULAG STUDENTSIt maybe be because the person they renamed the school to does not have anything to do with education nor being an intelligentsia. |
They should change the unilag name biko, afterwards unilag as a nomenclature don dabaru. GEJ well done oo. ![]() |
This is a welcome development and a good move by GEJ. I'm loving this president oo. Why do Yorubas hate Abiola so much, even after taking bribe to hand him over to the ordinary almajiris to be slaughtered for sticking to his 'victory' |
This is a welcome development. We are celebrating the renaming down here in UNIZIK, Awka. This is the GEJ greatest move to cut the SW to size. Imagine renaming learning center to a 419 kingpin of all time. ![]() |
PointB: Fair enough and let's leave it like that. Whoever is nominated by Ohaneze is the one I will campaign for. My personal preference for those who have structure and are popular across Nigeria is what it is - personal preference. But for greater good you and I should drop that preference for whoever Ohaneze chooses.Nwanne mu ekwelum ife ikwulu. Dalu |
Abia people when will you people be rescued from all this Kalus and Orjis. You people have continued to drag Ndigbo to the mud with your endless bad 'leaders' with no vision and focus. |
Spirit of Okija: Abeg shut up dere... Whats money got to do with anything?! Obj had money before he bacame president yet!!The bolded are real Igbo candidates of trust. No more no less |
PointB: You will do well to stop this trash! It is not about anambra or imo state, it is about Nigeria president of Igbo extraction. If and when Ohaneze nominate and individual, every other personal preference is immaterial. Currently Chime and Rochas are the front runner as far as platform ownership is concern. Soludo comes a distant third. And Nigige romance with AC.N does not place him in good position. Or you think AC.N will allow him ran as their presidential flag bearer.I believe you will do well to stop mentioning such talkative as Rochas who has not disappointed imo people that he is a real talking drum. We have people as Peter Obi, he is a quiet revolutionist, FG knows his worth that is why he was appointed into the economic team of the present federal govt. The governance is not only tarring few KM of raods only in urban center, but embracing all sectors of the economy and area of the state. Creating employment thru creating enabling and peaceful environment for investors to troop in. Obi has attracted big multinational investors to Anambra far above any other state in the Southern Nigeria apart from lagos. Such caliber of people deserves to run the economy of this country. |
Soludo (PDP) and Ngige (but not under Yoruba ACN) ![]() Until Anambra with all the giants both academically and economically it parades gives its up no other SE state cannot afford and eminently qualified to take a shot at the presidency. Enugu is edging close to some extent. It is clear if we watch Nigeria and SE hisory from 1904 the birth date of great Zik of Africa. |
This Yoruba peeps sef. After they say that they are the real arm robbers. |
Armed robbers struck in Ilasa-Ekiti, Ekiti East Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Thursday, killing no fewer than seven persons as they invaded a branch of First Bank Plc in the town. Residents told journalists that three policemen were among the seven persons killed during the robbery, which left the town deserted while the operation lasted. One of the felled policemen was said to be on guard at the bank, while the remaining two were killed at the police station near the bank. Our correspondent gathered on Friday that the robbers blew up the bank’s security doors with an explosive device to gain entrance to the banking hall. Residents told journalists that the robbers, on arriving at the bank, sprayed bullets at the security doors, but could not enter the bank until they threw dynamite at it. SATURDAY PUNCH learnt the operation, which lasted for close to an hour, was successful as the robbers carted away an undisclosed amount of money. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Victor Babayemi, when contacted, declined to comment on the incident. He, however, told our correspondent that the Deputy Commissioner of Police would issue a statement on the incident. Following the incident, it was observed that the two branches of the First Bank in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, did not open for business on Friday until about 10 am. A similar robbery incident happened at the main branch of the bank in Ado-Ekiti on May 30, 2011. Five persons were killed, while seven others were injured. http://www.punchng.com/news/robbers-blow-up-bank-in-ekiti-kill-seven/ |
^ Why not leave this thread and go to any thread that is discussing your backward state of origin. What is your business on how much is spent or not spent, are you EFCC, again what is your headache about the capacity of refinery, are you DPR/NNPC? I strongly believe you should be in chains, because frustration and envy is written all over your senseless comment. |
Achebe remains the best thing that ever happened to Africa. There is no African living or dead that has achieved Achebe's stand in Africa and world at large. |
Things Fall Apart, the classic novel by Africa’s foremost novelist Chinua Achebe, has been named one of the “fifty most influential books of the last 50 years.” The selection was made by a group called “SuperScholar.” Achebe’s first novel, published in 1958 and translated into more than sixty languages, is one of several novels by other world acclaimed writers. Other novels on the list include Toni Morrison’s Beloved, Salman Rushdie’s Satanic Verses, Joseph Heller’s Catch-22, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude. Achebe, who is the David and Marianna Fisher University Professor of Africana Studies at Brown University in Providence, RI, is the author of five novels, several volumes of poetry as well as essay collections. His latest book, There Was A Country: A Personal History of Biafra, will be published in September, 2012. 50 Most Influential Books of the Last 50 (or so) Years In compiling the books on this list, the editors at SuperScholar have tried to provide a window into the culture of the last 50 years. Ideally, if you read every book on this list, you will know how we got to where we are today. Not all the books on this list are “great.” The criterion for inclusion was not greatness but INFLUENCE. All the books on this list have been enormously influential. The books we chose required some hard choices. Because influence tends to be measured in years rather than months, it’s much easier to put older books (published in the 60s and 70s) on such a list than more recent books (published in the last decade). Older books have had more time to prove themselves. Selecting the more recent books required more guesswork, betting on which would prove influential in the long run. We also tried to keep a balance between books that everyone buys and hardly anyone reads versus books that, though not widely bought and read, are deeply transformative. The Grateful Dead and Frank Zappa never sold as many records as some of the “one-hit wonders,” but their music has transformed the industry. Influence and popularity sometimes don’t go together. We’ve tried to reflect this in our list. 1. Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart (1958), as the most widely read book in contemporary African literature, focuses on the clash of colonialism, Christianity, and native African culture. Staff Qtrs within the Port Complex. Am sure they have completed the landscaping because this picture was taken early this year.
|
This is picture of recent expansion of the Port. Besides Anambra is blessed with the longest coastal line along the River Niger, so the issue of further expansion beyond the one on the picture is quite enormous. The Onitsha Port is going to be the most busy Port in Nigeria after Lagos Port.

Onitsha the pride of Igbo Nation

^ Don't you know that there is more of rot and decay on infrastructure in your imo state? You should devote more attention to the sorry condition of your state which is being run down by the that talkative 419 led government. We never said we have anything to do with you people, we never want to ever want to have anything to do with you people. This explains why we Anambrans does not marry you people, even our girls dare not too. So what more, take whatever good you think you have and go far from anything Anambrans because we don't want nor like you people anywhere around us. |
Abagworo: From what I've seen both on this forum and reality, it is better Imo State aligns itself with SS than SE. We don't speak the same language and do not have the same way of life and we can't mix.Why note open a thread and continue your senseless beef. Little wonder Anambra man nor woman will not want to have anything to do with you imo people when it comes to marriage. You people can even also align with almajiris for all we care. We don't need you people. Who cares where you people belong. Before nko. ![]() |
deshclones: Stop trying so hard to sound stupid...Anambra state needs an airport..preferably a cargo airport....do you know how many goods and people that come into that state on a weekly basis?? what of revenue generation.,job creation.please quit this argument...its not worth it and you will definitely lose at the end of the day..My brother tell that monster who go about writing jargons. He thinks that his gibberish on NL will deter Anambra from completing its Int'l Cargo/Passenger Airport as approved by the FG. The airport is under construction in Anambra North/East area very close to the Refinery site and also central to serve Anambra cities of Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi, also even the neighboring Kogi, Nsukka and Benue will benefit from the airport. Am sure the Anambra Int'l Cargo/Passenger airport will be the busiest in Nigeria after Abuja and Lagos. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/11/fg-approves-construction-of-anambra-cargo-airport/ |
Abagworo or whatever you call yourself will you disappear from this thread with your leprous comments. While not devote more attention to your talkative governor roachas who has kept you imo eddiots down with his 419 governance. |

Onitsha Port set ahead of commissioning by FG next month.

Odenigbo Aroli: We s'easterners (especially Anambra) are sufficient with the Asaba airport. All we need is a second niger bridge and we will be just fine! How can you make such a stupid comment, you must be out of your mind. How can a state as Anambra which can only be compared to Lagos and Rivers in Nigeria not have its own airport to services the economic/commercial city of SE- Onitsha and Japan of Africa- Nnewi? The truth is that asaba airport is not a viable prtoject since the govt of Delta did not consider what its own people needs most. Its a waste of public funds on irrelevant and inappropriate project. The Delta govt built an airport based on the mere fact that Onitsha and Nnewi is just across the niger to utilize it. s FYI: To bust your bubble, Anambra has finalised arrangements with the Orient Pet. Refinery to build an Int'l Cargo/Passenger Airport as approved by FG in Anambra North very close to the refinery site. Its also about 20 mins to Onitsha via GRA, 35min to Awka and about 45mins to Nnewi. The airport is a central airport to serve Anambra cities and also neighboring Kogi, Nsukka areas up to Benue. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/11/fg-approves-construction-of-anambra-cargo-airport/ |
